I like the idea of the linguistic sub-forum.

Maybe make an announcement that there IS a linguistics forum? Not many people seem to know it is there. Or else its just the fact that the guild is running a bit slower.

Uh, Hermonie? Do you have any idea how much work that would be? eek
Especially considering that you can only message one at a time.

That's why I said only a few pages at a time.

I would do it. If you wouldn't mind. I'm not a mod, but I don't think any of them would really go check. I'll just have to wait till later, then give you a long list of those who didn't answer after like a week or so...I have a lot of time on my hands. I just don't know of time on my hands at night. I just don't know what to say.

Wow; that'd be very appreciated, then.
Perhaps I should set up a thread where people can post to take their names off that list, then?

Sure...
Any ideas on what to say to them? I always draw blanks when it comes to things like this.

How about putting "Concerning your membership..." in the title and saying something along the lines of... Quote: Hello, We have noticed that you have been a member for quite some time yet are not active in the Foreign Languages Guild. Do you plan to return? If so, please post in (thread). If you do not reply to this message or post, you will be banned in two weeks. You are welcome to join again if this happens. mrgreen I dunno, a bit too formal sounding perhaps?

If you're still going to make that thread, I need it up before I start sending messages so I have a link to give them. I wouldn't make it 'cause I have no idea wouldn't make it 'cause I have no idea what to say. Sorry but I'm a follower; I do whatever I'm told. sweatdrop

I just scanned through the linguistic subforum and it seemed a sticky (or something related) explaining linguistic basics could be useful, like what is it and what are the different fields like sociolinguistics dealing with. Not discussion material, but basic facts.
