The sad truth is, religious extremism is violent.
Every religion goes through this stage.
Islamic extremism is the most prominent in this age (and possibly has been the most lingering throughout periods of time, but the same could be said about Christianity. The difference is world majority, and thus views are bias neutral )
When one subjects themself to pure faith without logical reason, you bring about the ideals of ignorance.

Its the way that people use to persuade the general public to their ideals. Hitler did do that, he picked a reason for why the Germans lost, and used that to give them more power.
This man however will most likely be killed due to his radical thought, just like a few people on fox network....

This man however will most likely be killed due to his radical thought, just like a few people on fox network.... I hope so. stare This other guy, who wasn't a politician, got killed for spreading his opinion in a sort-a-like way a while back. His name was Theo van Gogh. People are like: "We mustn't let this happen again!" But I'm like: "If he can't state his opinion without being so harsh, it's not weird people go out and kill him."
D: Some people are so stupid.

Aren't you being kind of discriminating going against people who have a religion. I mean seriously if somebody wants to have a religion well them let them have a religion in peace just like if someone wants to not have a religion well then let them not have a religion in peace.

I mean seriously if somebody wants to have a religion well them let them have a religion in peace just like if someone wants to not have a religion well then let them not have a religion in peace. Depends. Being against people who continue to spread a religion with no rational basis isn't discrimination unless you consider arresting people who kill other people to be discrimination against murderers. The key lies in the intentions, really. Our sole complaint is really against people who spread disinformation in the form of religion. I, for one, really don't have a problem with religions that don't intrude upon reality.

Personally i'm a mixture of athiest and agnostic, but that still doesn't change my views on imposing ones own views onto another especiall if they are misinformed to begin with and terribly stressing a single point.
No offense to Christian people (My entire family on both sides happen to be Christian), but i need a good example. If someone read the bible, reread the part where Jesus turned water into wine, and took from that that God wants everyone to be in a drunken stupor for their life, wouldn't you be a bit miffed about it?

I, for one, really don't have a problem with religions that don't intrude upon reality. Oh well, do you think Christianity is a form of disinformation??? The majority of people treat it that way. Some seem to get it: teach it as a collection of moral stories, believe in the message, not the messanger. However my general impression is that the gross majority don't care if, because of their interpretations and practices, idiots eventually take it to be literal (according to their own retarded interpretation of "literal") and pass it on. That would be "misinformation through ignorance." It's much like how science is being passed on so ridiculously poorly that people believe it is simply a set of facts to memorize and is the same thing as a religion.

Quite frankly, wasn't Jihad an add-on preached by one guy?
So, it wasn't originally part of Islam, and not many people practice it if you look at it.
But it's still frusterating......

Could be, although that's not even the real violent parts from the Koran. I'm pretty certain it preaches death of certain people, just like the Bible instructs to kill all enemies, man woman or child.

Dominique Devlin Afranshia unfortunately, a lot of people, if not most, seem to be like that stare
…i can't really say that things would be better for everybody if i had any power, but things at least wouldn't be bad based on religion or any of those other things people act stupid over sweatdrop I feel the same way. stare Religion is crap. If y'ask me, it should have all ended ages ago. scream Hms I dont think religion is a bad thing it gives the people hope & I feel happy when I'm comming home from the church but I'm not going very often to the church thats a bad thing cuz actually I like it. And all the other things people think of religions is s**t, why in heavens name should the christians think all that stuff you said or the moslims think they have to fight or something ? thats crap. And Geert wilders sucks but in the Netherlands you have the right to have a politic party (euh, party ? I dont know its the right word but I dont know how to say it)

It's all faith >.> How about the rational basis "I'm choosing to believe things which don't apply to reality, hence my beliefs don't apply to reality?" That's mostly what came to mind as I typed it. It's the difference between: "I believe in a god. It looks like our current evidence is that the world is about 3 billion years old. I suppose that means that this god could have shaped the world through what we perceive as fate." "I believe in a god and there's no way that the universe is older than 6000 years (because I say so.)"
