Vaccinating against cancer? Yeah, gee-whiz, that sounds like a good plan!

Hey you, cells of my flesh! We saw some guys that looked like you and THEY were dangerous! *body consumes own self*

You can vaccinate against certain mutagenic virii (SV-40, HPV etc) but you can't vaccinate against cell growth.

And there YOU go making baseless comments - That I have no idea what chemo is like! Ever wonder why I spent so much time with radiologists and cancer patients? We were in the same ward.

The bigger picture is that companies have to cure people. They might not cure everyone, and it might not be perfect, but if they were curing NO-ONE then there would be no company, because nobody would be buying anything or using their patents.

Man, I sure love knowing what I'm talking about.

I have to agree with emily and x666 on this one. the chemo and rado therapy that is given to cancer paitents isnt really the best thing in the world. and for something to be a cure, a TRUE cure, it should cure the illness completly and leave no sideeffects due to the treatment. as the cancer survivors and they will tell you themselves there gratefull for the chemo but they hate the outcome. and as they have said opinion is a big part of science seing as inorder to start a scientific experiement you need to have an opionion on teh outcome. so dont say science has nothing to do with opionions.

... Do you even listen to yourself?

The whole point of an experiment is to be objective. if you go in wanting an outcome, you're more likely to discount contradictory results or even falsify findings.

You will usually have an inference, or hypothesis, but not an opinion for ******** sake!

Someone give Soldier Scientist the "I Am God" tittle, because ladies and gentlemen, he knows the ULTIMATE TRUTH of existence! *applauds*

Oh, and let us not forget, not only does he know the Ultimate Truth of all, but he also is nasty about it.

Learn how to socialize, sir. It's called being nice to others and helpful to the community. Do you know how to do that without insulting?

Cancer sucks!!! If you have seen people with cancer and watch them fight like heck to overcome it - - watch the affects of chemo treatments - when it's the only hope if any - - crying My friends daughter had a eight hour surgery to remove cancer from her brain - three years later had a port installed into her head to pour this awful poison/treatment into her - aggressive but now hopeless - for a bright young woman that now at 21 will likely not make it to 22...
Cancer sucks and anything that can reduce risk or prevent it is wonderful!!!

Let this be your last warning, if YOUR GOING TO ARGUE BE TACKFUL!

I can not take you serioulsy at all with this kind of attitude.
And I don't believe you have a clue about chemo, just because you are around radiologist and cancer patients doesn't make you an expert...OBIOULSLY.

You have your OPPINIONS and everyone else has theirs. Science involves oppinons. YOU have an oppinion about certain scientific topics...this being one of them - all you have done in here is offer your oppinions. So back off the damn oppinons already your only making a fool of yourself - because your right along their with them! YOur arguments are also baseless so if your going to start arguing like that make sure you offer some base yourself - take your OWN advice. Ok.

And yes there have already been vaccines agains certain types of cancers.
Why don't you do some research... Here I'll do it for you.

Comprehensive Immunotheropy for cancer

Cancer Vacciens!

Doctors rely heavily on cancer vaccines to stimulate a patient's own immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells.

A new vaccine to prevent Cervical Cancer is NOW available. In June 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approve the vaccine called Gardasil, which prevents infection against the two types of HPV responsible for the majority of cervical cancer cases. Studies have shown that the vaccine appears to prevent early-stage cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. Gardasil is the first approved vaccine targeted specifically to preventing any type of cancer.

Prevention

I'm sorry but you do not know what your talking about - and I don't even know what kind of mind set you have to be in to think that companies HAVE to cure people. What a joke kid.
REality cheack kid, companies only care about making money look into it. Check out Enron... they all run the same way. Especially pharmacudicals and MEd. Ins. companies.

That last statement of yours is very ignorant. Obioulsy you think you know it all...and one can't really have a good discussion with someone with that mind set. There is not point in even you answering to this post, because I know what you will say will be a joke.... you are so sure you know what your tlaking about that your not willing to even listen to any other explinations, possibilites, or ideas ...and instead of comming back with something possitve, something to support anykind of intelligence on the other side of the screen you come on here like a flamming noob and insult other's on their ideas (aka.-oppinions) or beliefs and act like the only oppinions or beliefs that ring true are yours.
What is your problem? ... Don't answer that.
Just chill out... ok.
