But you can get medical conditions from it that ARE comparable.

I'm not talking about average pregnancies. Most are safe, and fine. But some women have gone blind before. Some women have been crippled for life from giving birth. It's pretty damn safe now, but there are a few rare cases where it won't kill a woman, but it'll hurt her for life, and not just a little, "ZOMG stretch marks!" "Oh no, baby weight!" but, "Crud, I can't walk now."

I think I would be willing to accept abortion for truly crippling complications, but are they detectable in time for abortion? Or do they mostly happen during childbirth?

Never. I believe that God allowed that sperm and egg to combined to make a fetus (or baby however you look at it). There for it is ment to be. It may sound harsh but the mother should die for her child to have a chance to live. Even if the doctors say that the child may not live. How are we to know that God wont place his hand on that child and help them along. I am not sure why I feel so strongly about this. Maybe its because when I was young I watched a partial birth abortion then a regular abortion. Either one made me sick and crying unstopable. Its just hard for me to understand why anyone under any situation would get rid of something that happened for a reason. Whether its for them to grow up and be a president or for you to die and live on through your child.

But that is not neccesarily what others believe. I would have to stop at the life of the mother and fight against you. Although it is indeed tragic to have to choose which one will live and which one will die, I believe that it should be up to the mother.

In this case, it really is a situation of mother Vs fetus, a life for a life which choicers often imply for every other abortion when they say "woman > fetus". My response is always "Yes, in a life for a life situation."

One simply cannot condemn another to death because of their beliefs, or in order to save another person. Regarding abortion, I believe one CAN condemn another to a few months of inconvenience to save the life of another, yes.

When it comes down to an actual life or death choice, I will always favor the mother. I look on those cases as triage, where either both die or one lives and one dies. Doctors often have to make those decisions in emergency situations. Of course, if the mother CHOOSES to risk her life for the baby, I respect that decision also.

Maybe something is wrong with me or different in how I was raised but to me it just seems selfish. I know for a fact that I would have given my life in order to save my son. It was something that was talked about when I was admited into the hospital early. If something was to go wrong would I give my life for the life of my son. There wasnt a doubt in my mind, he should live.

Yes, and that is very admirable. But I'm not sure that it should be legally required.

I would only support it for serious complications (mainly life and death or if it would seriously effect their health).

Mental health-sounds like they need major counciling and I don't think abortion would help them, if anything it CAN even make things worse in some cases.

I know phobias (I have a great fear of fire) and someone with one would do all they can to avoid it.
It would be common sense if someone really did have a fear of pregnancy, they would do all they can to avoid pregnancy (I doubt many people are really afraid of it/phobia wise but just scared of what could happen and changes).

As for rape or incest. Personally no for rape, it's not the childs fault that it happed to the mother and I don't think it deserves to die but I can understand what the woman is going through so it's really up to her what to do. But abotion probly won't help with the mental issues and trama.

As for incest, no. That is just sick and if they consent to it then that's their problem. Why should the child die cause of that?

If they consent to sex they should know and be prepared for any of the concenqunces (both phyiscal and mental), if their not and don't want to take responsiblity then their most likly not ready to go that far in a relationship.
