The portal looked cool, both girls could agree to that. But only Minerva seemed ready to go into the portal.
She knew there'd be teasing during or after this action, but she wasn't a big 'leaping into the unknown' type of person. Activities like climbing trees and racing she could do no problem, but this wasn't a tree and there was no climbing involved.
She reached out and grabbed Serges' hand. If she was going to go in, she wasn't going to do it alone.
Minerva however walked a different route, instead of walking up to the portal she walked just nearby it, examining it. An incantation to open a portal? That was similar to what she did... she was going to have to have a talk with Heero sometime on this trip.

Heero tapped the portal with his middle two fingers before nodding to himself. "Ok, good to go." He said before turning to look at all the kids. "Right, two things...one, it might look like this portal is something you can just pass right through, but its not."
He paused and made sure everyone had heard him before going on. "The portals state is actually much like being underwater, which brings us to thing two...there is no breathable anything in there, so take a breath and hold before jumping in, it's pretty easy to cross to the other side, just 'swim', got it?" Looking to each of the kids again, he was pleased to get nods from them.
"Ok, I'll explain what's next once we're across." The kitsune said as he turned back to face the portal. "Oh...and don't were, I won't let anything happen to any of you." He said with a reassuring smile, as he looked back over his shoulder before taking a breath and jumping in.
The idea of teasing wasn't even on Serge's mind when he felt Rogue grab his hand. He understood full well why she was doing it, especially after the explanation they had just been given.
Taking a couple of breaths, he closed his eyes and centered himself, before taking one last one and holding it, rushing at the portal with Rogue's hand still in his.
Riku didn't even hesitate to follow, taking a quick breath and jumping right in, the boy made a show of twisting as he went in.
Hinata walked up to the portal a little shyly, and tapped the surface before nodding to herself and taking a few steps back. Taking a breath she let it out slowly, eyes closed and head down. Taking a second breath, she whipped her head up as her eyes snapped open, and ran head on, diving into the portal.
Glenn shrugged, and simply took a breath, plunging headlong into the portal, hardly seeing a point in making a big deal of the whole thing.

Minerva paused to listen to Heero's words, well this was definitely interesting. She wished that Puck was there to hear of all this interesting magic, it was so different compared to their magics' but of course that was to be expected.
Rogue squeezed Serge's hand as they ran towards the portal, taking that vital breath right before plunging in. After blinking a few times she got used to her surroundings and began 'swimming' after the others'.
After Glenn had made his ordinary leap into the portal, Minerva simply shrugged and took a breath before jumping in herself and simply following the others.

Heero exited the portal, adjusting to land on his feet as he did so.
Come to think of it...he forgot to tell the kids to adjust back to being upright when they got to the end of the portal instead of swimming right out of it...
Hopefully they'd figure it out before hand...the kitsune flinched has he heard oofs come from behind him both distinctly from boys....perhaps not.
Glenn grumbled, he and Riku had raced through the portal and he, unfortunately, had won, when meant that the surprise of coming out of the portal and crashing to the ground, was quickly followed by the feel of his brother landing on his back.
Riku let out an groan as he pushed himself off Glenn. No doubt he'd hold a grudge for being fallen on. Though it wasn't like his falls was any better for the object he landed on. He'd had the misfortune of land just in the right way to have Glenn's wooden sword jab into his stomach. The dull wooden blade was at no risk of piercing his skin, but it was still going to leave a bruise.
Heero grabbed both boys and pulled them out of the way as the other's exited the portal. Not really wanting to see such a pile of children.
Hinata landed gently on her feet after leaving the portal, looking more than a little confused as she walked over to her father, who was currently holding both Riku and Glenn off the ground by one arm each. It seemed...odd, to her.
Serge stopped just before the end of the portal and righted himself...at least he hoped that's what he'd just done...he could be sure really.
Looking back at Rogue, of he gave what he hoped was a signal for her to do the same, before swimming forward.

Rogue quickly caught on to the idea and righted herself before going through and landing on the ground with a slight hop. The breath that filled her lungs was definitely welcome.
Her hands broke from Serges' as she wiggled her fingers and shook her head slightly, a grin on her lips. "That was fun, a random swim in the middle of the day."
Minerva simply walked out of the portal and brushed herself off, fixing her shoe which was starting to wiggle into an uncomfortable position. She quickly finished and looked around, that was so cool. Hopefully one day she could learn to do things like that with her magic.

Heero set Riku and Glenn down, before turning and looking at the portal after everyone had exited and blinked confusedly. "Huh, I thought I added a closing on the end of that incantation...guess not..."
Closing his eyes and focusing, the kitsune began to murmur a new spell, the language sound like little more than gibberish, and in a series of spuractice flashes the portal vanished. "There now, let's head on, shall we? Where we'll be camping for the next three days is just a head."
With that, he turned and head on along the path they'd landed on.
Glenn grumbled and followed with out another word, still annoyed over the portal exit.
Riku grumbled as well and followed, clutching his stomach where the wooden sword had jabbed him.
Serge chuckled at Rogue's comment and nodded. "Yeah...things like that actually happen more often than not around dad...he's actually flooded the whole top floor of the shop before with breathable liquid...took him half a day to undo it." The boy blinked looked a little perplexed. "The wried part is...it stop when you got to the stairs...so the store itself was fine...just the living area was effected..."
Hinata blinked for a few seconds before spinting after Riku, digging into her pack in search of the numbing cream she'd packed.
She'd been doing this for a while now. Any time her brothers would spar, it was assured that they would bruise each other up. So she always kept creams and salves on her to dull the pain.
She'd even been trying to learn how to make her own, but was only making slow progress.

"Oh wow," Rogue exclaimed. "That all sounds so cool and fun, so many interesting magical things happening all the time."
"So you're not entertained by my magic?" Minerva asked as she looked around this new place.
"Well, of course. When yer not with yer sweetheart, Puck." She giggled and stuck out her tongue before taking two steps to put Serge in between the two.
Minerva simply grinned, "If you're going to make those comments all along this trip, not even your boyfriend will be able to save you from my torment." Her voice held a teasing tone to it. Of course Minerva would never do anything, but even if she did there would be no torment of any kind involved.
Rogue didn't respond, but her cheeks tinted red as she turned to Heero. "We're ready to go now!"

Heero give a chuckle at that. "I'm quite sure." The kitsune said as he lead the way.
After a while, a clearing came into view at the bottom of a hill. It sat at the base of a large out cropping of stone, where the meadow became forest.
"Ah, here we are." Heero said with a smile and a nod. "We'll set up camp at the base of the rock, there are two rivers that run near hear. We'll use one for bathing and the other for food and drink, understood?"
Serge nodded in tune with the rest of his siblings, knowing full well, that this was not actually a question. After his dad's eyes left him, the boy looked to Rogue.
There was something he wanted to ask, but...he was a little scared to, and in all truth wasn't sure how.

Minerva followed the others and enjoyed the surrounding area. If she was going to spend three days with a lot she didn't know well, and doing some training... this was definitely the place she'd want to do it in. She glanced over at Rogue and smiled, the girl didn't get out much so this was definitely something Minerva felt would be a worthy experience.
Rogue was also looking around at the scenery, and a tree or two had definitely caught her eye, maybe a possibility of climbing them sometime this trip. After Heero finished speaking she nodded in response before turning to see Serge looking at her. A smile grew on her face from the sudden attention on her, "hm?"

"Minerva, if you care to learn this next trick, come along." Heero said as he walked toward the rock. "I'll see if I can't teach you to cast symbol spells, as opposed ot spoken ones."
Serge blushed and looked away for a moment. After a bit, he looked back to Rogue, cheeks still a little pink, but opened his mouth to speak. "R-rogue...I...I wanted to ask you...um...th-that is..."
Taking a calming breath, the boy tried again. "Rogue...I want to know...how do you feel about me? I...I mean...I...um..." With that he just trailed off, blushing and looking off to the side as he scuffed his left foot across the ground.

Minerva left her things, wand excluded, where they were and headed towards the rock. "Symbol spells? Like using chalk on the ground or doing something in a pattern?" That was her most recent thought of symbol spells, anyways. She was definitely interested in whatever Heero thought he could teach her, and she was eager to start whenever he was ready.
Rogue opened her mouth to speak but... wasn't really sure what to say. Children didn't say such things, did they? She knew Minerva and Puck had weird conversations... but they were different. Her cheeks flared but she hoped it was hardly noticeable as she ducked her head slightly.
"Um..." She paused for a few seconds before backing up a few feet until her back hit a tree, she looked up and spotted a nice branch she could jump up onto. She quickly pulled herself up and hid herself behind a nice patch of leaves.
Peaking out from the leaves, the blush lowered but still remained. However now that she was up in a tree she felt slightly more secure in speaking, "Ah think yer darling, an' ya have nice hair... and Ah like holding your hand when we walk places... and..." She trailed off, and the blush returned.

Serge blushed a bit more, he wasn't really sure if he wanted to ask this next part, but...
"So, does...does that make us what everyone keeps calling us...since...I like holding your hand too...?"
Heero smiled at the good guess. "Yes, something of the like at least." He answered as he reached the large rock. "Though there is no need for anything but your fingers or a wand for this."
Reaching out to the rock he placed his pointer and middle finger on the surface lightly, his other fingers curled, and began to move the two fingers in a pattern.
"Much like with spoken spells, a symbol spell needs a point of focus, as well as direction. But, in appose to the former type, with the latter, the focus and direction are both given by the chosen symbol."
Finishing the first part of the symbol, a triangle, the kitsune went on to add a circle on the inside, which touched each of the edges of the triangle, and further still, adding much smaller circles just off each of the three points.
"The end effect is there after dictated by two things. First and foremost, is your own will, and second is the type and amount of energy placed into it. Both are added with in the drawing of the symbol..."
After a moment of thinking, he turned to look at Minerva. "You...do know how to focus different magical energies, right?"

"Ah dunno, Ah mean... Ah think we're too young for it to be what they're sayin' it is." Plucking a small flower from the mess of leaves, Rogue jumped down to the ground gracefully. Still not faced Serge yet.
"But even if we're not yet, we can still hold hands.. right?" She turned slightly to face him, a shy smile present on her face.
"I think I understand what you're getting at, but I'm not positive." Minerva smiled, "I know a few methods, and actually I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about and that I can pull off what you're thinking of."

"Right, well..." Heero said as he turned back to the symbol. "In this case, I'm using a symbol designed to focus three different energies into one area."
Looking back at his current student, he made sure that she was at least somewhat following. He didn't expect she'd pick up on it from just on lesson though. "Each of the smaller circles on the outside are write with a different energy, while the triangle and circle within are both write with the smallest possible amount of a neutral energy as to not interfere with the own purpose."
"Now, how much of what I'm saying makes sense?"
Serge didn't even pause to think about his answer to the question. He simply nodded and smiled. "Yeah."

Minerva looked at the symbol and studied it for a few seconds before looking up at Heero and grinning, "All of it, continue?"
The flower still in one hand, Rogue walked up to Serge and reached for his hand with her other. "Good," She said boldly, "then let's go over there because it looks much prettier and more entertaining than this area!"
She pointed with her flower to an area just beyond where they could see, poking out from around a big tree with slightly winding branches was a lovely purple tulip. She turned to Serge and grinned.
