It's fake. I was once informed that it was for April Fool's joke. And like what some people have said, BBC does not have those number in their website URL. My friend actually found another article from that fake BBC site which was something about aliens or whatnot... XD.

Ohhhh, this is interesting... eek
When I saw this about a week ago (before I became a member of this guild), I sent it to two of my Death Note-obsessed buddies and waited for a reply. One called me, we chatted for a bit, and together, we searched for similar articles. Not surprisingly, we came up with nothing. To borrow one of L's "isms", the possibility of this article being fake thusfar is...99.9%. I would say 100%, but you never know; there could very well be something else out there. Then again, this is coming from someone who's high [on just being alive] about 100% of the time; has believed that the Lock Ness monster, Yeti, aliens, and ghosts exist since she was very young; has had 2 encounters with ghosts (I don't care what anyone thinks: I saw what I saw, and there's nothing you can do to change that or my beliefs); and prefers not to think logically (except when I'm doing sudoku or any other puzzles/mind games) because it ruins my fun. But enough of my rambling. On to the point already. xd
Anyways, if this article was true, then we'd more than likely see a heck of a lot more similar articles from (hopefully more reliable) sources. Unless, of course, the police is trying to cover it up/won't say anything about it. Also, whether the banners the people are holding up in the picture read "Kira" or not, I can't tell. The image is too small for me to identify the characters. If I could see a larger, cleaner version of the same image, perhaps I'd be able to confirm or disprove something.
Though I believe in ghosts and supernatural things like that, I don't believe that creatures such as shinigami exist. That's why there's God, right? Why would God send out "angels of death" when he already knows when someone's going to die? But, as I'm not in the mood to get into a religious debate, I'll just stop here.
...wow, I sound the teensiest bit like L, don't I? sweatdrop

OH, HOW I WISH THAT WAS THE TRUTH.
Although, I guess I now know that I would be a Kira suporter.
I wish it was reality. :[
But I guess in many religions, there is a so-called "God" who plays out Divine Retribution. So maybe it could be reality?

Oh yeah, my friend edited it. She said she made it sound more believable, because that was so obviously fake. I dunno, this sounds fake too... But still funny. xd
The young supports of the deaths have been claiming that someone they call "Kira" is responsible and holds the power of God to punish the criminals in Japan. Local newspapers have reported additional information leaked from the police which talks about hundreds of deaths across several other countries. The deaths are similar to that of a fictional movie recently released in Japan where criminals were killed by means of a book dropped from heaven by creatures they called Gods of Death. Fiction or reality, many people are scared they might die over minor or falsely judged crimes. We interviewed residents that were seen near the rally. Our question was whether or not they supported Kira. It was a mixed response. One man, who wishes to remain unnamed, replied, “I’m not really sure just yet. It seems so…unbelievable. It’s just-I’m not really the type who will be so easily convinced that what Kira is doing is okay. Killing criminals isn’t as bad as killing innocents, but they’re still human too…I mean, even if they were wronged in the past, I feel…I don’t know…like something is wrong in what Kira is doing. For me, it’s definitely a grey area.” Another response was not so uncertain. “Kira is our savior. He has begun the divine cleansing of our earth. He has showed God’s will, the consequences of our sins, that we shall not go unpunished. His actions have renewed our faith in the form of divine judgment.”
Scary, eh?

I couldn't say if it was real or not, but it would be cool if it was. But of course, it would shake my faith in God a little bit...God wouldn't let his angels of death drop note books for mortals to find, would he? I would support Kira though...

"That'd be awesome if it was real," said Psyco Dipicto, "but you can easily tell it's fake."

But, I belive it's not, so I am once again emo that Kira is not there to 'cleanse' the earth. *sigh* Once again, my anime craz has taken me over and almost made me belive. "If only" Is all I can say now... emo

It is a bit sad that it isn't real. Then there won't be any cool black haired dude ( hint: L ) trying to find him... >: RionaDaidouji chocolade It's fake. Definitely fake. Look at the URL. It doesn't have BBC in it. Not to mention that the "Printable Version" link leads to an article on whaling. lol
