Lauren Granger

Lauren had given up trying to cover herself and shook her head and whole body. She was working on moving her newly formed limbs now, trying to move. "Food... chow..." She replied, still in a daze and nearly feral state. She looked over to Tommy and blinked her now larger orange eyes, "Go then?" She asked tilting her head. She tried harder to move and her muscles were starting to obey yet it took a ton of effort and hurt worse than she could imagine. "No.. can't..." She said shaking her head.

Tommy ached like no other at the moment, but he could tell that Lauren was having a much worse time of it. His spine didn't lengthen like hers did...true, his wings grew a little bit, but other than that, no real bone changes. Mostly he just felt like he had spent the last few hours doing heavy lifting. Even that was leaving him though, as his body quickly adapted itself to the changes made on him.

Nevously, the bat-man licked the top of his wing and ran it over his head a few times as he tried to think. Then, his beady black eyes looked up, an idea coming to him. "Lauren...hey...Lauren...can you um...think you can climb onto my back?" he asked slowly, wondering if even he could carry her in his condition.

Lauren looked up at Tommy contemplating his question. He was a small guy, but wasn't she a lot smaller as well? She looked a little puzzled and tried to find words in her brain. Being human after such a heavy change was difficult. "No hurt you?" She asked the bat man. Nothing was comming out right and it was FRUSTRATING Lauren. "No hurt... mean...Don't want hurt you." What was going on here? Lauren knew internally she wasn't saying the right things yet her brain and mouth weren't connecting as easily as they used to. Maybe it would take a little time, or maybe it was just because of the recent trauma of a change? She didn't know but it was obvious in her expression that this was annoying her.

Tommy nervously shifted his weight from one wing to another as he watched her contemplate. Sure, she was smaller...but definately weighed more than him. But something told the bat-man that he'd be able to do it...it just seemed right. Maybe it was just the fact that he was no longer crippled...but he felt stronger too.

He gave lauren a grin, trying his best to ease her worries as his own grew. What was wrong with her? Oh God, I pray she doesn't go feral... "Nah, you won't hurt me...I'm up to it, trust me," he said, still grinning. He then positioned himself so that she could climb up onto his back. "C'mon, I'll get us there in a jiffy."

Lauren tried her best to climb on his back. She remembered when she held him on his back just a few weeks ago, he had been attacked by a boar then. With much effort she found herself on his back. What was that word? She couldn't find it right now so just went with what she could find, "Kay... go.." she said while on his back. She hurt all over and really just needed food and a nap right now.

Tommy winced as she climbed up onto his back, the extra weight made him sag a little bit at first. She was heavier than he expected...but he also realized he was a lot stronger than he was used to. He made a push-up motion with his wings and instantly, the sag was gone...his pectorals easily helping him hold a normal 'standing' position...for a bat anyway. He grinned a little, as he could only imagine what they looked like right now. At her word though, he just nodded. "Alright...hold on," he said before beginning his walk toward the chow hall.

At first he was very slow...getting a feel for the extra weight and just how fast he could walk. He tried his best not to jostle Lauren around too much, but as he got used to it, he began to pick up speed.

Lauren's arms ached but seeing as they were the part of her that had changed the least she was able to hold on with her. It was her legs that weren't moveable. She felt floppy and bendy as she was carried along but she also found herself sniffing the air as they approached closer to the cafeteria, "Good friend... Me... Path..." She couldn't really remember that word either. What was wrong with her brain, "Talk get better hope?!" She asked frantically.

As Tommy reached the cafeteria, he began to slow some. He was worried about not feeling her holding on with her feet...but she seemed stable enough just using her hands. It was her speech though, that worried him...sure, he had problems getting his thoughts in order right after his change...but it only took a few minutes for him to start cursing regularly.

"Oh yeah...I ah...it should get better pretty soon. Your nerves are probably still re-wiring themselves is all." He crouched a bit once he got to the doors, trying to make it easier for Lauren to dismount.

Lauren felt better in the air conditioning. Her previous fever made it unbearable outside, "Soon..." She repeated as she clumsily dismounted. Her hind legs weren't being very useful right now.

She was starving but she also was very tired and the nice cold linolium floor in the cafeteria felt good. She curled up in a ball and closed her eyes, "Soon..." She repeated finally falling to sleep on the floor.

Tommy was busy trying to manipulate a plate of food for Lauren as she fell asleep right there on the floor. Using a wing to slide the plate across the slippery linolium, he pushed it gently into the ball of fluff. "Hey...Lauren...I got you some food," he said softly. He hated to wake her...but...she needed to eat. And she couldn't just sleep here on the chow hall floor...

Lauren was almost in a coma like state of sleep when she felt the food tray hit her. The smell woke her up and she lifted her head to eat. She ate hungrily without her hands, just useing her muzzle to lift and tear and chew. The tray kind of slipped away at her digging but she just moved with it and laid back down when she approached closer. Eventually her paws found themselves on the tray holding it down. "Thanks.." She said in between mouthfulls. Still she felt entirely too sleepy.

Tommy just nodded as he watched her eat...himself near starving. The only thing keeping him back from flipping out was his worry for Lauren...but he could tell she'd be alright...at least he hoped so...it seemed like she'd just fall asleep again once she finished...that's alright though...the cafeteria was a pretty safe place. He didn't want to be there any longer than he had to though...the bright lights hurting his eyes.

"No problem, Lauren," he said softly, "Just get some rest, alright? I think that's what both of us need."

Lauren nodded, her eyes drooping again. "Good friend." She nearly whispered as she whimpered some more from the aches and curled in a little ball on the cafeteria floor. She was more contorted than any human would be, as she looked more like a giant mongoose than a human. She didn't LOOK comfortable but she was.

Lauren found herself out like a light in no time.

Tommy stood over her, staring down at the ball of fluff that was Lauren. The sleeping humanimal caused his mind to fog over...one little bite won't hurt her too bad...'n...she won't feel it. Nah, lick it a few times 'n she won't feel a thing...just lean down...closer...closer... Tommy did indeed lean in toward Lauren's sleeping form...the heat sensors in his nose picking up each beat of her heart...the warm blood rushing through her veins and arteries...so good...so much better than that medical s**t...

The bat-man opened his mouth, a threat of saliva hanging from one tooth...closer...closer.

He hit the emergency break and shut off the engine before the smell of her overwhelmed him and he tore out her throat. Reeling back, Tommy tripped over himself on his way out the door, giving a slight squeak of pain as he scrambled away. he had to find some food...now.
