Caelen moved closer to her, making soft shushing noises. It was obvious that the worst of both of their tempers were over now. He just usually got sulky but he had a feeling that the lass might cry. Oh did he hate tears. "Come now lass, show me that spirit that ye nearly threw in me face the first time I happened upon ye." He wanted to see that spunk.. A mare that cried tended to lose his adoration.. Couldn't have that in the mare he had chosen to befriend or even more.
He looked down at her, his bright green eyes smiling softly at her, "Now lass, there's no need ter be angry with me anymore is there?" He just smiled, "I have a feelin' that we're both angry towards each other because there's somethin' brewin' besides just the vanilla flavored friendship - ye ken?"

Az watched him closely, annoyed that he thought her young enough that childish shushing noises. "Who said I was going to cry?" She hissed, throttling the small bit of strain in her voice that might give anything away, "I haven't cried for ages! What makes you think I would now?" She gritted her teeth, throat aching. Screw tears, she'd die before she'd break down enough to cry in front of him.
She stared at him, aqua eyes not understanding, or at least, not understand at first. Something besides friendship? When had there been friendship in the equation? They had always fought, it was what they did. They fought, made-up and fought again; friendship wasn't about fighting, it was about being there for someone and having someone to talk to about things. How could there be something more then friendship between them when they weren't even friends in the first place?
"No," She answered solemnly, looking up at him, "We didn't even have a friendship to begin with. What," She tilted her head up at him, "Are you implying?" She didn't even really need to ask that question. Something inside her knew, knew that they were fighting so badly because of something. IT was something Azariel had never hoped to encounter.

Caelen just smiled at her as best he could. The lass was fighting him at everystep of the way. Spirit was one things - bullheadedness was another. All well... at least in the end when she decided to be honest with herself and with him they would both know honestly what was going on. "Tears don go the amount of time it's been since the last round lass. They go by what happens that calls fer them, but then too I bet ye know that as well as I."
His green eyes just gazed into hers unwaveringly. Hell, this had been the last thing on his to-do list but when something like this was annoying the hell out of him there really wasn't much he could do to avoid it. "No lass, if we werena friends there would be nothing to fight about. If ye think about it. I don spend time gettin' all ragey at me enemies just to cool down.. That is where the friendship comes inter play, ye agree or no?" Lord almighty he was going to want to sneak into his two-legger's father's fire-water sometime tonight if only to make those lovely aqua eyes fade away.
"Lass I'll nae let ye lie ter me. I'll be grazin' fer a few minutes and doin' some thinkin' meself if ye've a mind ter think or just ter fume at how much ye hate me, or ter do some grazin' yerself." He shook out his mane and lowered his neck to begin eating. Lord she was going to be a hard one to get to trust him.

That smile. Ears flattened down against her head. She didn't like that smile; it meant something was up, something...something she wasn't so sure what to do about. She was silent a for a long time, silently acknowledging the truth about tears, but unwilling to give way enough to agree with him.
The way he looked at her too, right in the eyes...she mentally shook herself, what was she thinking about eyes? Just because they were staring at her and she felt a faintest traces of heat rise up definitely did not mean anything at all.
An ear flicked forward then back quickly. They weren't friends. Why would she get mad at someone she considered a friend? It wasn't logical! What did she know, though? She had never really had someone she could consider an enemy, who would she know if she would act as he did?
Lie? Why would she lie? And to him of all people? She had been nothing but honest to him! Always speaking her mind, even when she completely made things worse! She bristled and calmed almost immediately. She was tired of fighting him already, she just...let it all be damned, she just wanted to know! Know why the hell he was acting like this, why the hell she was acting like this!

Caelen just continued to graze. The lass was going to have to mull all the thoughts in her head over while he went to work on figuring out what he was going to say to her when she did finally speak to him. He was so much older than her. She was a couple of years old.. maybe three? It was hard to tell how old of a filly she had been when Lovey had met the little mare.
Her bright aqua eyes were going to be hard to forget. Oi.. now where in the hell had that come from? Stupid mare making him get stupid fluffy-bunny thoughts. He was supposed to be a manly man, right?
Caelen choked on that thought and laughed at the same time he choked on his mouthful of grass mixed with clover. Hacking for a moment before he regained his composure Cael managed a smile up at Az in case she was worried over his health. Would hell freeze first? He hoped not.
Alright sweet lass, show me how brave ye are... Let yerself fall an I'll catch ye.

Any particular thoughts she had been mulling over quickly vanished as the green stallion choked on his food. Automatically-because of course it was automatic, why would it be otherwise?-She bent her head and nudged him, "You alright?" At his smile she jerked her head up and away from him. Crazy male.
She snorted with contempt and looked away, half of her mind tempted to just walk away. If he wasn't going to give her answers, she was going to have to figure it out on her own and for some reason, she couldn't entire think properly when he was around. She flicked her long tail again, ignoring that it was already hopelessly tangled once more.
"Hell," She mumbled absently, gaze firmly locked onto some point in the distance, "Complications..." She hadn't meant to say anything, her mind and mouth were currently working against her. Luck was not with her today.

The urge to grin was surpressed, but just barely. It was hard not to grin with the realization that while she may'nt be head over heels or even friendly towards him. She certainly wasn't above making sure he was alright. "Aye lass - I just swallowed something the wrong way." His voice was a bit of a croak and he had to clear it a couple times, but he was breathing.
Smiling? The mare was angry at him for smiling? Well hell. He wasn't going to give up that activity for any mare. It was simply too much of a habit. She'll get over her dislike 'o me pearly whites sooner or later.
"Hell and Complications?" Now that was something unsual. Caelen had muttered to himself but with a voice as deep as his it had probably carried over to her. "Now lass... I don like ye ter find me that irritatin'"

An ear flicked toward him and she looked at him sideways, not wanting to turn her head. "'Hell' because I don't understand," She huffed softly, "'Complications' was also because of that." She shook her head, white mane shadowing her face, "I've told you plenty of times before that I don't understand you, Caelen, I was merely voicing it again."
She shook her head, she needed time to think, time to shove away thoughts that had no business being in her head. She stamped a hoof, a physical manifestation of her inner turmoil. Caelen...what are you doing?
Was he trying to say that he had something more then friendship? Not that friendship had been offered in the first place but, was he trying to say that he...thought they might be something "more"? She didn't like it, she wasn't the type to think of that word. "Love" was not a part of her vocabulary, she had never thought anything like this could happen.

His own ears were pricked forward, keenly interested in what the mare had to say to him. "Oi lass, I suppose both of your word choices make a lot of sense. Although I don't know what about me ye cann understand. I like ter think I've a rather simple mind and a simple list o' demands."
Caelen just managed to smile at her lazily. He was full now for the moment so it was much easier to keep eye contact with her. The two were starting to have something between each other, but her trust was all he wanted right now. Would she ever be able to understand that? If not he'd give up.
Lord almighty it felt like he'd walked straight into some stupid drama that two-leggers thrived on. I ought ter be wearin' some shirt with my manly muscular chest popping out. He snorted lightly and just eyed her. Love? Hell.. they hardly liked each other.. but it was there somewhere?

"Simple?" She repeated, turning to look at him directly, "You are anything but simple, Caelen," She grumbled shaking her head, "And I would know nothing of your list of demands."
She snorted at his smile, annoyed at how she liked it. She shook her head again, meeting his gaze firmly, "Do you have something to say, Caelen?" She asked finally, intent on knowing just what he wanted. Humph, she wanted nothing to do with him. Ha, such a liar she was, not that she'd ever admit it.
This was becoming stupid, she didn't like beating around the bush and it didn't help that she had no clue why or what they were beating around the bush for! She was becoming quite frustrated over all of this. She didn't like when things like this occurred.

Caelen once again loomed over the little mare as best he could. His body was stocky and not in the least lanky. All well, at least he had been given his stunny good looks? Ha!
He kept his eyes connected with her lovely aqua ones, "Now lass I'll show ye exactly what I mean, but if ye so much as protest in any form be it a squeak, squeal, or a no I'll disappear. If I see ye from a distance I'll be gone, do ye understand?"
This was an important moment.. He was testing to see if she had the ability to trust him. He planned nothing to ruin her virtue, just to.. well she would have to decide for herself before he moved any closer to her. It had dawned on him that if he lost.. they both did.. and if they won they both did.

Azariel shifted, once again having the sensation of him looming over her. He wasn't that tall to begin with but she still felt that feeling. She wasn't exactly comfortable with it either.
Her ears flattened at his words, mind instantly going to something that was less then pleasant. But...hadn't he told her over and over that he wouldn't do something like that? Could she trust him far enough that she could say he wouldn't? She shifted uneasily. Damn it all, was she willing to risk it? Was she willing to risk herself for this?
Curiosity be damned, she was betting something incredibly important to her. Why did she want to know? She gritted her teeth, if he tried anything suspicious, did anything to her, she'd break his legs that was for sure. Whether or not he meant well, she was definitely not going to let anything happen to her.
"I understand," She said, looking up at him solemnly, "Just don't try anything stupid." It was a warning to him, she wouldn't stand for anything suspicious, the deal would be off, then.

Caelen took another step forward, moving purposely into what she liked to consider her space. Alright, it was about to either get alot more interesting or he was going to walk away wheezing. If she struck him - he would strike her. They had played as equals since the beginning and the kid-gloves weren't about to go on.
Caelen began to murmur to her softly in Gaelic, soft as if he were taming her to his touch. His words were foreign but they carried the meaning of, "Trust in me and I won't let you fall..." With a soft sigh Caelen ran his muzzle down her mane. It was soft and rich but he didn't dare inhale. He was trying to show her a touch wouldn't hurt, that HE wouldn't hurt her.
"Ye can tell me ter back down lass. It'll be a very personal touch for us both but ye've got ter trust that I'll nae hurt ye or try anythin' ter damage yer virtue. Ter put it crudly from the hips back I'll nae go near."

Azariel hadn't been nearly as concerned until he stepped closer and she had a very large desire to take a step back. Her legs had suddenly decided to root themselves to the ground at a very inconvenient time.
Any words of warning vanished from her mind, any thoughts of fighting faded away. His words, words she couldn't even begin to understand, pressed into her and despite the fact she couldn't understand, relaxed her enough to allow him near.
She shivered automatically at his touch and once again she wanted to move away, but it was not nearly as strong as the first time. She may not like someone touching her, but at least he was being gentle. Her ears flicked back at his words, "I could," She answered softly, "But would you stop?" She sighed just as softly, "Fine, just..." Her eyes closed, "Don't make me regret this, okay?"

Caelen knew she wouldn't move away now so long as his touch was as calculated as he had had to have been to get her this close to begin with. He hated to scheme, but until she met her guard down like this, full-time he was going to tread lightly.
"Agrha, ye're lovely like this soft and yet ye still manager ter keep yer spirit.. I could no sooner hurt ye as I could throw meself off of a cliff." Slowly he drew back her mane to nuzzle the black velvet of her neck, "Ye're so soft and warm.. I've a feeling I'm corrupting yer being lass, but ye don't mind me do ye?"
With a soft sigh Caelen shifted closer so she could feel him solid and warm beside her. Letting her know he was there for support, "Lass whether ye choose to acknowledge what fire there could be between us or nay.. Ye'll find a friend in me no matter how pigheaded we both choose ter be." He chuckled lightly, still just nuzzling her neck. He would move soon and touch more, but not until she wanted more.
