K'Anatak was speechless, he wasn't sure why he wasn't there, but he wasn't connected to her in the sense he was with his brother, getting a type of extra sense in knowing somehting was wrong, that something was out of place, that she would be moving, he only had that with his brother, and slightly.
She never called for him.
"You didn't call for me and...I was in trouble too..." he said outwardly, he had been in trouble, he was beaten by two gods in the same day, he lost the love of his life, he didn't know where she was, if she was okay, he just wanted to see Momo again, wanted to see her so badly.
"I don't know..." he turned his eyes form her then, refused to make eye contact now. She hated him, he had already lost someone else.

Malika's features fell the moment she heard that he had been in trouble the same time that she had. The pale lioness suddenly felt sick. Disgusted. Horrible. Cruel. The old Malika shone through at that moment, the side of the lioness before him that was sweet caring and would never say a harsh thing about anyone, not if she could avoid it.
"I.....I...I-I'm s-s-sorry K-k-k'Anat-t-tak..." The female managed to stutter, something she hadn't done since she had met Angamika. Now when she needed it to be gone did it return. "I-I'm s-so c-c-confused......I don't understand...." Malika mumbled her violet eyes cast to the sand beneath her paws hoping he understood her.

"Shhh, shhhh..." K'Anatak spoke softly, calmly. He push away any sadness and guilt he had for the moment as best as he could, Malaika needed him now. But she seemed so emotionally stressed. K'Anatak draped a wind over her, letting it shield her from the rest of the world, "Shh shh, things will be alright..." He sat himself next to her, she was one of his greatest friends, he hated seeing those he cared for, be in such troubles.
"Malaika, you should rest, rest now, alright? I'll stay here, when your rested we can figure things out alright? So much stress and sadness is not good for the heart Malaika, so rest now, I'll stay here..."

Despite K'Anatak's attempts to calm her, Malika began to shake her head back and forth as she mumbled "No...no ...no...I...I...I can't...not now." She kept shaking her head as tears began to well up in her violet eyes. The lioness knew that she needed sleep otherwise she would never be able to think or speak clearly, however something weighed heavy on her heart, something was pushing her, pressuring her to stay awake.
"I can't go to sleep....there is no haven within my dreams." She babbled taking a step backward only to be met by his large wing. "No haven...no haven....." She repeated the same phrase over and over again and the welled up tears streamed down her cheek and her body trembled terribly from physical exhaustion, lack of sleep, and fear. "I'm lost....I've lost...." The female just couldn't seem to form a full sentence now.
"I've lost.....I've lost..."
What had she lost? Why couldn't she remember? It was important....she knew it was! So why, why couldn't she remember what she had lost?
Surely by now she had been deemed completely and utterly mentally unstable by her friend. Hopefully that wouldn't cause him to leave her. She couldn't afford to be left alone again. Not now, not when she really needed someone.

K'Anatak gave her a soft smile, she was rambling, she needed rest, she couldn't stay awake for too long and stay healthy. She would tire herself out at this rate, she had to rest, had to. How could she not have a haven in her dreams? Right then he wished his domain allowed him to let her sleep, the only thing he could do is have her reflect upon herself, or have him help her go back, face what was bothering her.
But he doubted she wanted to do such a thing now.
"How can you be lost? I've found you, how can you be lost if you've been found by a friend? It'll be alright Malaika, but you have to rest, you have too..."

It was only a matter of minutes until Malika's body would completely shut down on her. It was a miracle that she was still standing, still awake, still conscious. Any minute she could collapse, pass out. All she needed to do was wait.
"I....I've always been lost.....always...." Malika replied to him. It was true, the lioness realized, from the day her mother abandoned her to now, she had been lost without realizing it. "I'll always be lost..." She mumbled before her shakiness got the best of her and she collapsed to her belly. She then attempted to stand again but her legs were too wobbly and shaky for her to do so. "I'll always be lost...." She stated one more time before exhaustion won her over and she passed out.

K'Anatak didn't say a word more, he just watched her, when she passed out, he lay beside her, still having his wing draped over her. She believed she was lost, but she wasn't, was she? He had found her, so if she was lost, she had been found, if she believed she was lost, then he knew it would only be a matter of time until someone came by her, and made her feel whole, made her feel like she was home, made her feel found.
He would stay until she awoke, then they would go from there, he wasn't sure when he would see Momo again now, if she even remembered him, if she hated him. He just wanted to know she was alright, wanted to tell her he was sorry, wanted to tell her how he felt.
But it was one step at a time, a friend needed him, and he would do what he could.
