The woman behind the counter turned her old eyes to Rikku bouncing excitedly, and nervously about the shop. Getting up from her seat, she walked along the back of the counters, stopping where Rikku was.
"Is there anything I can help you with deary?" her voice almost seemed to crack as she spoke, but one could tell it was once a beautiful voice. Many many moons ago.
"What are you looking for exactly?"

Rikku looked at the old woman and wrung the bag in her hands a bit.
"Well... I have a boyfriend... and soon I want to ask him to marry me," she nodded, "So... I need a ring. A nice ring, one that's a bit adventurous."
Rikku looked towards Terra and grinned for a moment before looking back.
"You see, he's a ... treasure-hunter."

Terra returned the grin, the knowledge of the 'plot' safely in their world left for them, and them alone to know the truth of it all. An elaborate plan that would come to fruition.
And it was grand.
The elder woman nodded and seemed to give careful thought to what Rikku had said. After a moment passed, she seemed to draw a conclusion.
"One moment ladies. I think I know something that you will like." with that she turned around and headed to the back of the shop.
Meanwhile, Terra watched after her and then turned back to Rikku. "Huh, well. Hope she knows what she's doing."

"I have a feeling she does," said Rikku as she confidently put her hands on her hips, "I know the Machina Theatre like the back of my hand since I've been at it so long. I'm a regular grease-monkey!"
She gave a thumbs-up to Terra, "I'm getting excited now. I can't wait to see what this lady comes up with!"

She was probably right, Terra figured in her ead. The woman just seemed like she would know what was perfect for any given occassion. It must be something that one would learn after a lifetime of helping people cement the rest of their lives.
"Yah, me either."
As if on queue, the elderly woman paced her way back into the room, holding a small, dark blue, velvet box in her hands. The smile never seemed to leave her face as she set it down on the counter.
"Here, I think this may be what you're looking for."
Lifting the lid, inside it revealed at first, a simple gold band. Upon further inspection, however, one would notice that slighty off the the side lay two line of diamands, trailing up the sides.
"What do you think?"

"It's perfect," breathed Rikku as she looked at it, "It's absolutely perfect. He'll love it."
Rikku paused, beaming, "I don't know what to say. It's just right! I'll buy it, most definately. I just hope that it fits him, he might've grown since I last got his size..."

Terra was in awe of the ring. It really was beautiful. She couldn't help but feel a pang of envy of her friend. It was mostly overshadowed, however, by a greater joy that she could be there for Rikku.
"Do not worry dear, the ring will be guaranteed to fit. That much I can assure you." she closed the box and moved towards the register. She tallied up the price then looked back.
"Would you like me to wrap the box or would you simply like a carrying case."

"A carrying case, please," Rikku grinned, "I want to be able to open it up and show it to him when I ask. You know, like they do in those movies? I'm going to get on one knee and propose to him and see if he blushes like the maidens in those stories that MacBeth writes."
She pulled out her father's credit card and handed it towards the woman, "Thank you again... I really do think that he'll say yes. I know he will! I'm just so happy..."
