Merle had traipsed into the room, taking a deep breath, the room was musty. Merle lifted her hand, a scroll flew off of a shelf on the wall into her hand. After unfurling it she read then looked back to Luthor. "It is a little unsettling being in his room. Especially after Eugene's tragic, pastry-related incident." Merle rubbed her head and looked to the table where a crystal ball was located. "Oooooh! I've always wanted one of these!" She bounced. She paused, cleared her throat, and resumed a more sedate demeanor. "I mean, splendid, to be working with such a tool of the profession."

draven quickly caught up with the guard nd the two men head to the castle. upon entering the main corridors, draven pauses to inspect one of the coats of armor. "how can anyone wear these things and still move?" he asked himself. he notices a smudge on the breastplate and tries to wipe it off with his finger. as soon as he started wiping the smudge off, the suit of armor shifts and shakes. draven quickly moves away from the suit of armor and quickly makes his way to the guard. the guard looks over at draven and asks, "what was that all about?" just then, the suit of armor crashes to the ground. "erm, nothing," draven replies without looking back. they make their way down another corridor. draven hears voices coming from the first open door on the right.

the two men walk up to the door, revealing captain volkmar talking to the young magician, who was gawking over a crystal ball. the two men wait for luthor to finish talking before the guard speaks up. "captain," he said, "i've brought draven. i will return to my post." then the guard leaves, leaving draven with the seasoned captain and the wide eyed magician. draven looks at merle and chuckled. she's standing there, mouth hanging open and her eyes shifting from his eyes to tal and back to his. luthor looks at draven and back at merle, with a slightly puzzled look. draven is the first to speak up. "surely, i'm not the largest man you've seen, m'lady. there are far taller to the north," he said.
