"If you're sure it wouldn't be an imposition, an overstretch the resources you have further..." He trailed off. He had, indeed, been planning on staying--after all, most of his life had been spent working towards being able to return...well, home. Whether that home was the one he remembered or not, to give that up would be to cast himself adrift, with no idea where he'd go, or what he'd do.
Inclining his head, he half-smiled in return. "And that's good to hear, at least, that she'll hopefully be recovered soon."
Tail swishing idly from side to side, he thought for a moment. "Is there some sort of...other protocol I should observe before hoping to meet the rest of the pride that remains?" he asked, aware from having observed the practices of some of the other prides around that there was often a certain way of doing things--and a refusal to approach in the correct fashion never accomplished anything but to put everyone on edge.

Kizuka offered him a smile, truly touched by his offer though it was hard to show it. It had been a good while since she'd been in pleasant company from a male of her pride; her little 'meeting' with Maji hadn't gone well at all. In fact, the lioness was still a little rattled from that. She didn't allow that uncomfortable feeling to show to Dara, however, for fear of turning him away. "Another strong member would be good, in my mind," She replied, "But your best bet will be to ask the Queen, Masika... She can be hard to find so it may take you awhile, but if you follow the old paths to the cliffs... well, someone will point you in the right direction if you ask for her."

Makadara inclined his head, and then nodded. "In that case, if there's nothing I can do to help you now, I should probably seek her out as soon as possible, so that it doesn't appear that I'm trying to avoid gaining her permission."
It was strange, for him, to have spoken as much as he had in such a short period of time. However, it wasn't altogether unpleasant, he'd found--and it had been less awkward than he'd remembered, much to his relief.

Kizuka inclined her head to him, offering him another smile. "Probably for the best.. it is good to have you back, Makadara." True, she hadn't known him when they were children, but she had known OF him. That in itself was enough for Kizuka, she let her chin rest back on her paws and allowed him to pass.

Bowing his head towards her once again, a smile flickering across his maw, he stepped past her. It was at this point that he realized he'd neglected to even ask her name. "Thank you," he said, referring most specifically to her willingness to give him the news, harsh though it had been, of what had happened in his long absence. Dark paws padded, almost noiseless as he made his way towards the cliffs, tail swishing softly in his wake.
