Kadyn smiled and nodded to her. "Alright then. I'll go see if my sister will come downstairs." Moving away from the case, Kadyn went to the back door then up the stairs where Iliana had stacked claim to the room she had wanted. "Hey, Lily, come downstairs. There's some people I'd like you to meet." Iliana frowned a little, curious as to how her brother was able to make friends so easily. "Alright..."

Rath sighed softly as Thayet lead him into the shop, giggling. "Thay..."
"It'll be fine. It's about time you started making friends."
He looked into her eyes for a moment before nodding, "All right. I'll try."

Following her brother, Iliana walked down the steps, stopping at the door after Kadyn went through. She saw two others standing in the shop which made her not want to go any further. "Lily..." She looked up at Kadyn who was on the verge of tapping his foot. Blushing a little, she moved out of the doorway but didn't look the other two in the eye. "This is Iliana, my little sister."

Thayet bounced on the balls of her feet, smiling, "I'm not sure where Wince is, but here's Rath."
Rath looked them over, avoiding their eyes before gazing down at his feet, "Hey. It's nice to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you Rath," Kadyn said with a smile. When Iliana didn't say anything, he get her a light nudge. She looked up at him then to the other two. "It's a pleasure," she said softly, her eyes lingering on Rath's wings before looking over at the candy jars.

Thayet pursed her lips a bit, giving her brother a little push forward, whispering softly, "I promise you, nothing bad will happen. Sykks was full of negative energy, this place is different. Just give it a try."
Rath sighed, looking up with an unsure smile, "The pleasure is ours. Rmm...your shop is lovely."

"T-thank you," she said, just as softly as the first time. Kadyn raised a brow at her. "Lily...why don't you go show Rath the candies? You could show him your favorites." She looked up at him as if asking why but Kadyn didn't say. "Um...alright..." She looked at Rath for a moment to see if he'd want to go and browse the many candy jars.

"I'd...like that," Rath straightened up a bit more, his smile softening, "Lead the way, Miss Iliana." Thayet hummed a few notes and grinned at Kadyn, "Thanks a bunch. So...what's good around here?" heart

Iliana blushed brightly when seeing his smile. Not knowing what to say, she only nodded him and guided him over to the candy shelves. "Um...I have a lot of favorites... The little fruity ones are really nice," she said to him, reaching into one of the jars to pull out a red homemade candy. She then held it out to him to try. Kadyn smiled as he watched them then looked back to the other girl. "I'm Kadyn, by the way. And I think everything's good...but the little cakes are especially yummy, in my opinion."

Rath took the candy and placed it carefully in his mouth, almost as if something would break. He brightened up quickly,"Ah! It's really good!" He became sheepish a moment later. "You and your brother make these all by yourselves?"
After taking the time for an odd little victory wiggle, Thayet clasped her hands, "It's very nice to meet you Kadyn, my name is Thayet, and I really appreciate your help. ...Um...could I try one of your cakes? They smell so good!" whee

Iliana couldn't help but smile when he popped the candy into his mouth and liked it. Only a moment later, she blushed again and nodded. "We do... Well, I usually make the candies. Kae likes to make the cakes and other desserts. He's better with those than I am..."
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Thayet. And of course! We have all sorts of flavors and such. Have a preference?" Kadyn was actually eying the orange cream cake slice, deciding to pull that one out for himself.

Rath nodded,"You're very good at it. It must have taken you a while to learn."
"Whatever you decide on is fine. They all look amazing." Thayet waved her hands enthusiastically, glancing over at Rath and Iliana briefly, before turning back to Kadyn. "I'm so happy he's making friends! ...Wince thinks I'm some sort of basket case, but I care just as much for Rath as he does..."

Iliana let out a little laugh, unable to help herself. It had indeed taken her a long time to learn. "I learned from...watching. I've forgotten just how many years it took. And...thank you."
Kadyn nodded a little then pulled out a strawberry short cake piece for her. "I'm happy for them too. Lily's never really had friends before but she seems to be getting along with Rath rather nicely. Is...he and Wince your brothers?"

Rath chuckled, the warmth in the air catching easily, "I'm sure it must have felt wonderful, to create something like this for the first time, and to be able to make others happy." He looked down for a moment, but the heavy demeanor left him quickly. "Who taught you?"
"Then this will be good for both of them," she nodded before tilting her head a little, "Well...Wince is my older brother by blood, but Rath was adopted when we were younger. You see...he was sitting on a swingset when we found him, all beaten and broken. Not even swinging, really, just...rocking back and forth and crying. He was so scared, then. We couldn't help but take him home with us." Thayet sighed nostalgically before she caught herself, "Ah! But that was the past. This place is a good change. Everything will be much better now. For both of us. What about you and your sister? How did you come here, if you don't mind my asking?"

Iliana twirled her fingers around one another before answering, her pink eyes staring at her shoes for a moment. "He didn't really teach me...personally...but I learned from an older man named Harrison. Kae and I watched him for a long time and learned like that. We even helped him finish batches during the night after he had gone to bed. He was always surprised to find them in the morning."
Kadyn nodded a little, glancing over at the pair. "It seems like he found a good home then. It was really nice of you two to take him in." He smiled at the helpful gesture then looked back to Thayet. "Iliana's mine by blood, a few years younger. We came here when...when our old home had been taken over and sold. It was a bakery, sort of like this. I really miss the owner... He was a very kind man."
