From the other side of the river, Mwokoti began to pace left and right, rocking just slightly on her paws. She looked ready to pounce on something. In this case, she was actually ready to snatch Nyumbani from the raging water, should she fall. If she was one of those abnormally large Gods, two times the size of the mortal, she'd probably have been able to carry an adolescent mortal.
"I know you're tired, but please try to keep going," she coaxed gently, as if it was a cub she was speaking to. Poor thing. It wasn't easy for anyone to be so far away from home, no matter how old they were. "Once you cross this, we can rest." For a little while.

Nyumbani watched her for a moment, cocking her head and jaw.
Freak.
Sighing, she began pacing herself before finally deciding on a particular rock and taking a leap. She landed with a thud, and clawed her way securely up onto the rock, using the vantage point to see where next to move. Had she been human she might have compared it to a really nasty chess game where the losers died. There wasn't enough brain in her head for such a game.
"I'll make it," she mumbled back, taking the next leap and soaking her tail. She looked back at it and grumbled, swinging the object from side to side to rid it of water.
This was repeated several times, the worst of it being time she overshot and got her front wet. She'd made it, however, and now looked dead to the world on the other side.
If someone had asked her to life her head she wouldn't have had the energy to tell them to go screw themselves.

As promised, they did rest. Mwokoti settled down, wings folded against her back, eyes closed. Closed for a moment, anyway. No rest for the wary, honestly.
The lioness approaching them was the most bothersome of sorts for her. They weren't lost, because they had no home anymore, or they never had, but they still felt like it. It was truly difficult to explain. Reguardless, the feelings radiating off the almost-but-not-lost lioness pestered her.
And more so when she felt the connection between her and one she was leading. This should be interesting, if nothing else.
Ohahira had only had intentions of getting a drink. What she actually got was the sight of her eldest sibling that made her freeze. "Nyumbani...?"

Nyumbani had just fallen forwards, and curled her head around her sides, refusing to go any farther from the river tonight. She didn't care if Mwokoti threatened to kill her, she wasn't moving.
Not that the goddess would have even thought of it; she really didn't seem the type.
So when she heard Ohahira's voice, Nyumbani was in a state of 'dreaming' and she thought it as only a trick of the mind. But as she closed her eyes tighter the more rational side of her brain clicked.
She almost opened her eyes, but her body rejected the thought with ernest. Seconds later her breaths were coming in easy and deep.
