neutral Well no baby... That kinda surprised me in regards to his Lexs' nightmare. I kinda figured Clark might of x-rayed Lana just to be sure, but I guess not. There where a few things that didn't settle well with me: 1) Chloe's mom had blond hair. 2) When Chloe first told Clark about her mom it was along the lines of, 'One day I woke up and my mother was gone' and then something about her dad trying to make pancakes 3) Isn't Lex meteor infected?
Other than that it was alright, I guess. I liked how Clark paused for a moment and kinda did a double take right before pushing lex out of the way of the CS gas canister. Made me wonder if he was thinking about letting lex get clubbed in the head with it...
@SaberFireTiger wasn't the other thread titled, 'One week until s6e18' or something like that being a count down thread?

Other than that it was alright, I guess. I liked how Clark paused for a moment and kinda did a double take right before pushing lex out of the way of the CS gas canister. Made me wonder if he was thinking about letting lex get clubbed in the head with it... It surprised me too. I swear I was glued to the tv, my butt inches from falling off the couch. My parent's renter was trying to talk to me while I was watching it and he got his face chewed off. He spent the rest of the night in his room. But seriously. I wonder what Lana's going to do now that she knows she was never really pregnant. I hated the fact that the doctor automatically assumed she was taking them herself just so she could land a billionaire. What a pessimist. X-rays are harmful to babies and fetus', so maybe that's why Clark didn't spy on her belly? And when Chloe told Clark about waking up and her mom was gone... When you're little you remember things differently. Or Chloe's mom could have just told her to forget. Who knows. You know Smallville and continuity. And I thought Lex was meteor infected, too, but I don't think Chloe's mom knew or she would have stolen his pen or something and told him to go kill himself.
I knew Clark was gonna stop the canister from hitting Lex, but I wanted him to let it at least break his nose before pushing him out of the way. I did like how he used all his force to do it. He could have been more gentle. Did you see the way Lex got the wind knocked out of him. It was excellent.
I was hoping Chloe's power would emerge this time. Oh, well... Great episode, anyways.

I always assumed he could just see a higher range of lightwaves than humans (like X-rays that are there as part of background radiation), but according to Wikipedia it's a combination of microscopic and telescopic vision that he uses to see through the gaps between molecules. Either way, perfectly safe. crystalsmuse You know Smallville and continuity. Sadly. gonk

Personally I would have loved to see Lex get lobbed with the gas canister stare mehbeh it would of knocked some sence into him...

I am probably the only one who liked Lex in this episode. Why? Cause he was positively evil. This is how he is supposed to be, unlike two episodes ago. stare
And yes, what he did to Lana was wrong, but that storyline was stupid in the first place. I mean what was with the demon baby dream? Why make a baby room? Why would Lex want announce it at the engagement party? The look he had in static when Lana confessed? Like I said in the other thread, it isn't like Lana married Lex for the baby, no, she married him because she cares about Clark not being killed.
Now for the Chloe mom situation. In Lineage, Chloe said she left when she was five. Then in Tomb, she said at 12. Chloe is about 20 right now, 12 years ago she would be 9 or 10. Plus, this shows that Chloe was in smallville before they moved permenantly for her get meteor infected. My head hurts.
Oh, I can't believe that one little meteor rock made Clark pass out! I mean in other episodes he'd still be groaning and stuff after a while. Like Justice, still conscious right?
That doctor was so judgemental. You just think that Lana is a golddigger and that no one would ever marry Lex other than for his money. Well Lana didn't marry Lex for money, she married him to protect Clark because she kinda loves him and that isn't money! Ha!

The doctor was quite a handy way of making us sympathetic towards Lana. That's one thing I will give the writers props for.

Foetus In Fetu The doctor was quite a handy way of making us sympathetic towards Lana. That's one thing I will give the writers props for. It's hard not to feel bad for her though. First she thinks she has a healthy beautiful baby growing inside her, then she loses it. Now, she finds out there was never a baby at all.

The best way to make people like a character is to have bad things happen to them. The problem is, the bad things have to have context within the plot, not just happen for the sake of happening, which just makes me angry with the writers for victimising her.

You're all wondering why Lex was dreaming about the baby, surprised when he found out she was pregnant, made a baby room, etc. I think it's quite obvious....
Lex isn't the one who made her think she was pregnant.

Continuity isn't that big of a deal, so why can't Lionel be behind it all? It explains a lot of answers, and asks only few questions in return.

zach61092 Original_Sin Continuity isn't that big of a deal, so why can't Lionel be behind it all? It explains a lot of answers, and asks only few questions in return. Why would Lex kill the doctor then? Perhaps the doctor thought Lex was behind it, and knew there wasn't a baby from the very beginning. If Doc told Lana that the baby wasn't real, then she'd immediately believe Lex was behind it all, so he killed him. Think of it as another test by Lionel, to see if Lex would give in to the doctor's blackmail and/or risk everything for a woman he didn't even deserve to be with. Lex: "You got my girlfriend to believe she was pregnant with my child!" Lionel: "Now Lex, do you honestly believe she would still be with you if she hadn't?" They then stare eachother down, with Lex realizing he's right, and the next scene shifts to Clark working on the farm for some reason. Edit: Hey, that's pretty good. I'm going to apply for a writing position tomorrow.
