Skye understood the game eventually, and she was happy to play the part of a princess. But from what she understood, she needed something on her head that wasn't a halo - not that she had one anyways. So when Serenity decided they had gone far enough, she plucked several blades of the long grass from their roots and started braiding herself a crown.

Celebor found the bark and was pleased to see that there was a slab of it just the same size as his chest, and several more that would go on his arms and shoulders just right. He gathered them all up, placing each piece against his body to made sure it would fit, and tucked them under his arm.
He needed some way to make them all stay on ... he didn't have any rope, but he remembered where he would be able to get some.
With that thought in mind, he headed for the river.

Serenity stood up on her tiptoes to try see if she could see Celebor coming, but the tall grass was more than twice her height. She sighed and sat beside Skye, and suddenly noticed what her sister was doing.
She smiled. "That's pretty, Skye," she said, pointing at the weaving that Skye was doing.

Skye felt her vibration and looked up and giggled. "Skye! Skye!" she chanted happily. She held up the barely begun crown. "Not halo," she said seriously. "What it is?"
She blinked looking at it, then looked back at Serenity. All she knew was that she had to make one of this ... whatever it was. Not what it was or why she needed one.

At the edge of the river, Celebor stripped down to his boxers, folding his clothes neatly and putting them in a pile on the ground. He muttered the words of his spell and plunged into the waters of the river.

Serenity smiled and pointed at the thing Skye was weaving. "That's a crown," she told her. "Crown ..." She repeated it slowly, exaggerating the sounds and mouth movements, making sure that her sister was looking directly at her.

Skye touched Serenity's throat with one finger and studied her mouth, her forehead creased with concentration.
"Cccccc ... rrrrrr .... awn," she repeated. She smiled at Serenity and went back to her weaving.

"Crown," Serenity corrected her. "Ow ... oooowwwww." She plucked a few strands of the long grass and started braiding her own crown.

"Crown," Skye repeated obediently, and went back to ignoring her sister. From time to time she reached over and moved a strand of Serenity's crown-weaving, fixing it for her silently.

Celebor came back to the riverbank, several long strands of seaweed in his hands. He sang softly to himself as he tied the pieces of bark together into a semblance of armor. At least, he managed a breastplate and back piece, rather like a sandwich board. Then he got dressed again and tied the smaller pieces to his forearms and pulled his 'armor' over his head.
"Watch out, I'm coming!" he called out, his back to the river. He grinned and headed into the tall grass.

Skye finished her crown and set it on her head, her wings fluttering happily. She got to her feet and padded off into the grass in search of flowers to add to it to make it prettier. Though ... she had a suspicion that real princesses didn't have grass crowns.

Serenity looked up, surprised at the sudden movement. "Hey!" she protested, scrambling to her feet. "Wait for me! Where are you going?" She dropped her half-braided crown and chased after Skye.

Skye noticed the presence falling in behind her, but she paid it no mind. Instead she pressed forward, not bothering to move the grass out of her way with her hands, allowing it rather to brush across her face and tickle her. She closed her eyes and smiled - it felt so wonderful.

Serenity dashed forward and grabbed one of Skye's hands - there was no way she was going to let herself be separated from her sister, not in this long grass.
"Skye, where are we going?" she asked again, more insistently this time, giving her hand a small tug.

Skye felt her sister take her hand, and she looked over at her and smiled. She was happy that Serenity was going to come with her, it was always more fun with someone else along.
She saw Serenity speak, heard her vibration, and more, and smiled again. "Skye!" she giggled, patting herself on the head. Her wings fluttered as she added, "Frowers - crown!"
And then she headed further into the jungle of grass.
