I got that one a lot! xd
"I didn't know you were Jewish..."
"I'm not."
"Then why are you wearing the Star?"

I had a teacher pull me aside one day to ask. When I said yes, she just smiled broadly and said she was glad that I had found something that worked for me (I go to a Christian School). She was one of my most awesome teachers. *laughs* My other friend was jealous that she didn't scream "Pagan" as much as I did.

I'm not really gothic, but I get that a LOT (predominantly black wardrobe). So, basically I get labeled as "The Gothic Rocker Chick" because I am a music junkie, like black and all thinkns witchy. My friends always make a huge deal out of it if I don't wear at least one article of black clothing. I'm more artsy than anything.

I have been called a devil-worshipper, Servant of Sin (I quite liked that one, actually), devilspawn...stuff like that. I got food thrown at me, once, but that was mostly because I had no friends (guess why) and it was the classic "look, a loser!" thing. sweatdrop It's much better, now. I have friends, again! biggrin

Aww... *hugs* ...at least it wasn't at your eye, though. I still hold that different is better than normal, though. A little harder, perhaps, but loads better.

I'm called Devil-lin by this one girl. She acually thinks I'm the devil. 1. My name is Devlin. *I was some tiimes called Devil-lin when I was younger, but that's just common mis-pernouceation. This girl emphisizes on Devil.* 2. I dress in all black usually. *except for my pants, I don't got enough money.* So yes, I'm considered gothic by most people. I'm not gonna say I've classified as Wiccan *as a class, not a religion* becuase I've never had someone say it to my face, but alot is said behind my back, so maybe, maybe no.
I got a question though. Around my area, some people consider Wicca as a class/style*or whatever you wanna call it* instead of a religion. Gothic, skater, jock, prep, etc. is a class, not a religion. I was wondering, what do people look to be called that anyway?

I'm pretty sure that the only people at my school that actually know what Wicca is are Wiccans. Thus, even though I live in the Bible Belt, I don't get harped on a lot about it. I once had a Wicca book sitting on my desk because I forgot about it (I had something on top of it though. THe girl next to me grabbed it, and I grabbed it back and got all defensive. She said she didn't even know what it was.

I just cut my hair really short and dyed it red and black and my sister said that I looked like a fairy but this kid from karate came up to me and was like "hey Ivy, are you turning goth?!" I was really shocked. After all I thought that my hair looked really cute. oh well guess people have there own opinions. OO reminds me of a great quote: "opinions are like assholes, everyones got one."

I don't get any rumours like that spread about me because no one knows that I'm Wiccan except my closest friends and my mum, and they all except me. At least I think my mum does... not sure. But she's lightening up a bit. I'm almost allowed to light candles in my room now...

I've had people slap and grab my rear. I hate it. If they hadn't run away so fast, I would have made sure that they no longer had any working limbs to touch anything again! *laughs maliciously* LoL At least it wasn't food, right? Heh.

Whenever Christians tell me "Wicca is a cult" I tell them theat Christianity is one, or at least was one at a time, Wicca is NOT.

Cult: To follow a single LIVING person and follow what they say as the edicts of how you live your life. Jesus lived and was followed. The goddess was NEVER a living mortal being. 3nodding

Nothing meant as disrespect to Christians here, just pointing out a little known and ironic fact.

Where'd you get this definition from?
Here's dictionary.com:
1.
a. A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader.
b. The followers of such a religion or sect.
2. A system or community of religious worship and ritual.
3. The formal means of expressing religious reverence; religious ceremony and ritual.
4. A usually nonscientific method or regimen claimed by its originator to have exclusive or exceptional power in curing a particular disease.
5.
a. Obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing.
b. The object of such devotion.
6. An exclusive group of persons sharing an esoteric, usually artistic or intellectual interest.

So its all in how you define it. Christianity isn't based around one living individual, so according to your definition. Christians believed Jesus existed, and was part of the HOLY TRINITY (Father, Son, Holy Ghost; which, btw, can be considered a parallel to the Maid/Mother/Crone of the Goddess' trinity), but that doesn't mean that all Christians WORSHIP Jesus. And Jesus was never authoritarian nor particularly charismatic. =p

Um, isn't a cult described as a religious sect who names their alleged Creator? ninja

Ah, and I've had an accusation or two. I made the foolish move of letting a friend look through "The Solitary Wiccan's Bible" that I have, and they just skimmed through it, and just by seeing the pentagram they judged it as being a "devil bible," and another friend of mine who was there at the time (And who actually understands the religion, though doesn't hold any interest in it whatsoever) didn't help by saying it was evil, with a grin on his face that proved he was joking, and worse still, they saw a nude illustration of the Dakini and decided it must be "devil porn." Now, they'll bring it up every once in a while just to get on my nerves... stare at the very least, I think they secretly really do have a feeling I have a little more occult knowledge at my hands than the average person... >:3
