Gallen took another bite, “no it doesn’t, and yet it does. We give into instincts that our new animal genes are…sigh but I am sure that sounds offensive.” He sighed as he sat in the water. Depressed he was tricked into coming to this island, sad he could not find his sister, and now more frightened of what he was becoming.

"I don't see what's wrong with that. Losing your legs is a lot worse"
Cody didn't had any reasons to complain about the instincts as far as he knew. Actually he never realised they were there most of the time Besides the ones that kept his body coordinated, like keeping him from drowning when he fell asleep underwater or using his flippers to aid his swimming, the dolphin instincts blended all too well with his human self. There were only 2 major urges that caused him trouble, hunger and loneliness The other were subconcious changes in his own behaviour and because he was too young to have a proper idea of himself, he had never realised he was not the same Cody when he first arrived. He was no longer as shy, he was more curious, more eager to please and create attatchments, but at the same time more easier to anger. In other words, he had changed

Gallen sighed as he looked back to the fish in his paw like hands. He studied how the fish scales where similar to the ones covering his clawed hands. “I am sorry Cody, I know that must be tough to lose your….well I am sorry man”
Gallen looked at the fish again…sigh “ironic I am like this fish, and yet I am eating probably a cousin cause of my messed up genetics”

"It was...... and I still have one change to go..."
Cody's thoughts started to drift to the problem that had been nagging his mind lately. He knew there were 4 changes before anyone in this island was "complete" and no nothing when whould happen, or worse, what it rob him this time got him really worried
"Good thing I don't have that problem" he grabbed another bite before adding "but don't worry, you're too discusting to eat"

“Gee thanks dork.” Gallen purred teasingly as he bit into the fish again, and made a grossed out face. “I have no idea what will happen next” he sighed “but I just hope I don’t stop being me.”

"Fuzzbutt!"
Cody sticked out his tongue in reply and smirked at Gallen's discusted expression. It was a great feeling for a kid, to have more experience at something than a grownup
"I know what will happen. You change 4 times and that is it. But you were a jerk before and you're a jerk now, so you'll likely will still be a jerk later"

“oh go play in a net twerp” he thought over what Cody said, “how did you find out about that? Are you sure there are only 4 stages? What if only some people have four and others have more?” Gallen could not believe it but he felt that Cody actually knew what he was talking about.

Cody ignored Gallen's comment, feeling happy for knowing something he didn't. He took some time at finishing his fish before replying, leaving the catfish man in suspence
"Victor told me"

"Victor? he a scientist?" Gallen finished the fish and threw it aside. Soon he pulled of his shirt and slid into the water. it felt good in the water. He watched Cody intently as he started to swim in the water, testing his aquatic hands and feet.

"No, a lizard guy I met on the beach... but the labs really screwed up his transformation. He's got loads of arms and 2 mouths! But he's really nice"
Cody didn't really pondered if it was a good idea to describe Victor like that. It was probably hard to believe if you haven't seen him in person, but there was no way the kid was going to miss a change to rant of the labs for being incompetent
He saw Gallen slip in the water and couldn't help to smirk at the weak swimming display. He could do better with his hands tied beind his back and flippers glued to his body

Gallen’s heart sank a little to the answer, though Cody might be right and what this victor guy said might be truth, it still was not an answer provided by the labs. “Still could he be wrong? Where did he get his information from? I am not doubting you or him, but remember everything that has occurred here, right down to how we got to this island has been deceptions so to amuse the labs. So Moreau could perform his sick experiments” Gallen’s voice shook with concern as he said this.

Cody was getting annoyed by Gallen's reaction. Victor had no reason to be lying, he had it worse than anyone else here, and if he was being insulted, then it was like Cody was being insulted as well
"I don't know and I don't care. The labs were more horrible on him than anyone else, so the least they could do was telling him how many changes there were"
He started gathering his net, and all the fish in it, and rolled it in a ball. He was not in the mood to put up with Gallen any longer and besides, the sun had set and he didn't like being out in the lake at night, where he couldn't see where he was going

“I don’t think your friend is lying. I just don’t trust the Labs, they don’t care about any of us.” Gallen sighed, “I like to meet your friend Victor.” Gallen was tired of Cody over reacting to everything he said, he soon got out of the lake to head back to his duplex. “Your right it is getting late maybe best we end our conversation here.” He sighed again

Cody didn't reply to that comment. He too hated the labs and he had no reason to trust them, but he still couldn't believe in them lying. The cameras, the changes, everything Aubrey had told him had been true
"When you meet him... don't stare. He doesn't like it"
With that he quickly dived and swam away. The sky was clear and there was just enough light provided by the moon for him to hopefully reach his room without bumping his head on something

“I won’t. jeez being told to watch my manners by a kid” he laughed to himself and soon ran off into the jungle heading back to his duplex.
