Dragging this up from the murky depths.....

Silkroad Online is a nice free mmorpg. Sometimes it's difficult to get into a server, but it is a nice game (especially if you like questing and grinding)... xd

I've tried one or two games but being a mac/safari user can limit me slightly (I refuse to change my browser which I'm perfectly happy with just for a game). I really, really hope Guild Wars come to mac - if a game can get my brother addicted then it must be good! XD xD

I'm currently playing PhantasyRPG (link's in my sig), I've also signed up to AdventureQuest & DragonFable. I can never get onto AQ because all the free slots are gone & since DF is still developing it feels a little restricted without paying. Yeah, I tried Runescape too - way too laggy for me. xd

Maple Story I think is out of Beta test...its pretty good from what I see. The only time you need actual money is if you want to buy your way through the game...

KoL is awesome. I've got several ascentions under my belt. Mostly hardcore.

Urbandead and Dead Awaken are awesome if you like Zombies. I prefer Dead Awaken. I fight with the Irken Empire on there.

Lots of PVPing, clan battles. Tactica levelling, some interactive gaming. It's got something for everyone.

Have you got one of the new Macs that can *shudder* dual boot or whatever the term is? For Guild Wars, it would be worth it. I'm saying this as a Guild Wars fan and as a Mac fan.

I play Maplestory, and I'd recommend that if you really just like to run around doing quests and whacking and slashing at crap. I also play Ragnarok Online (yes, one of those "illegal" free servers or whatever, it's low rate - as in you still have take time to level up and etc rather than killing something and getting 203920395029350240099353 EXP. neutral ) that I love to bits. sweatdrop

Other than that, I'm not much of a MMORPGer. I found Guild Wars to be boring (after all, it's designed to let you win, pah.) and I can't afford to pay for WoW all of the time. Although a long time ago when it was deemed popular and at the top of it's game I was a major Everquest player. 3nodding

*raises hand* Illegal Ragnarok server player here. The rates are higher than iRO, but aren't quite astronomical. It's pretty much the only MMORPG I play.

Well, I'm not sure by free if you mean no monthly fees or just plain free altogether. Guild Wars and Neverwinter Nights/NWN 2 are all free of monthly fees, and you only have to spend the original money to purchase the game, which'll run you $20 to $50 depending on where you shop.

If you wanted totally free, well, the only thing I can thnk of off the top of my head is Adventure Quest RPG, and that's questionable as a real MMORPG. *shrug*

Do you mean the ones that can run windows too? I'm afraid it's not one of those & we're not sure if it can be upgraded.

I didn't realise Neverwinter Nights was an online game - I've been eyeing that game up for awhile now. biggrin

www.exodus-chats.org/IceHaven It's chat based, so no pretty graphics, but it's a lot of fun. My hubby is a dungeon master there (yes, its' based on Dungeons and Dragons the 3.5 ED) and has a blast. I was on a for a while too, but lost interest.
