Liam pulled away a short time later and let his head loll back, an eerie smile on his face.
A trail of something black and wispy as transferring itself from Crow's mouth to his. Soul.
The man laughed even through the gut-wrenching agony as his canines extended oddly, drawing blood from his gums and lips.

Crow stumbled back a bit, wiping her mouth.
"Jeez, Liam, that was....was...." she said, looking askance at him before her eyes fixed on his teeth. "...you..."
He wouldn't have.
He couldn't have.
"Ah, gods, mercy."
Crow grabbed Liam's collar, shaking him.
"No. No, no no," she said, eyes wide and staring into his. "You can't have. Liam, love, tell me you didn't. You didn't!"
He'd taken a piece of her. He'd stolen it. He'd poisoned himself. Her eyes were tear-filled again, but for a wholly different reason.
"Liam, NO!"

Liam said nothing, only allowing Crow to shake him as he finally gathered enough energy to look down at her. His eyes were different. He no longer had any scleras, and the whorls had formed into some kind of odd half-hook. Tears streamed down his face from pain he didn't even realize.

Crow's pupils, dilated from fear, constricted into paper-thin slits as she saw the change in Liam's eyes.
"NO!"
Tears ran down her face and she shook him harder.
"Please! Give it back! Give it back, you ******** idiot! Liam, please, no, no, NO!" she gasped, voice bordering a hysterical shriek. "I'm begging you, put it back!"

Still, Liam said nothing. His brain didn't seem capable of forming any kind of logical sentence. His grin clearly stated that he had no intentions of giving his new bit of soul back, however.
Even if he could remember how.

The sight of the unapologetic grin made something snap further in Crow's head.
"You don't even know what you've done!" she screamed. "Liam, how could you...how could you even..."
Her voice cracked and she let him go, sick with horror. She'd contaminated him. Just like she had with her own brother. She'd poisoned him. She looked down at Liam's hands, terrified that she would see claws growing. There was a brief moment of relief to note their absence before she noticed something on his arm...
"Ah...ah! AH! NO!"

Liam laughed hysterically and clapped a hand over his mouth, unsuccessfully trying to stifle the sound. It grated on his sensitive ears, and yet there was nothing he could do to stop it.
"Uh-huh!" he said gleefully, "How'd you think I got better, stupid b***h." He laughed harder at the sound of the insult, collapsing to his knees. His cheeks were soaked with tears now, and his stomach hurt horribly.

Crow felt a sob catch in her throat, and she went cold. He thought it was funny. And what was more...
"S-stupid...stupid b***h. Stupid b***h," she echoed, swallowing hard. "Stupid. b***h."
The pain from the insult was dwarfed by hot rage. He'd stolen a piece of her. He'd started using again. And he thought it was funny.
"You mother ******** stared down at him, eyes blazing, and drew her arm back, hand curling into a fist. She swung it out, not bothering to slap him, but smashing the back of her fist against his face.

There was a rather painful-sounded crunch as Liam fell back, followed by a short spray of...what? Silver blood? He lay on the ground in a near-fetal position, staring in horror at nothing in particular.
"Oh, God..." he whispered, "No..." He sat up suddenly, tearing at his own hair.
"NO!"
He had clearly been somewhat broken from the high by a minute loss of the silver drug. He knew what he was doing now. He didn't like it.

"What?" Crow asked, voice trembling and tears leaking fresh down her face. "Don't think that's funny? Heh, ********, that's funny as hell. You enjoy that, love."
She turned and started walking, gasping for breath as the guilt she'd momentarily forgotten tore at her.
His eyes...his eyes...I've made him a monster, she grieved.

Liam clamped a hand over his nose, tried to stand, and found he couldn't. Instead, he stumbled a half-step and fell to the ground once more, only barely catching himself on one forearm. He gagged once and tried to stand again, still to no avail.
"CROW!" he shrieked, voice hoarse and tear-filled, a sound he'd never heard come from himself before, "PLEASE!" He collapsed into a little ball of trembling flesh then, sobbing too hard to even attempt another word.

No. Walk. Walk.
She walked.
He stole a part of me. He's done this to himself. He's not even sorry.
She kept walking.
I can hate him. It'll be easy. Any trouble he has with it is his own fault.
She walked... but not in the direction she'd first intended.
"Liam..."
She knelt beside him, watching. Her face was a study in agony.
"Liam, I didn't mean to break it," she said, her voice a sob. "I didn't mean to!"

"I'm bleeding," Liam choked, "Oh, God, I'm bleeding." He pulled his hand away from his nose and found that his blood was turning pinkish, a sure sign that the drug was leaving his system.
"Need to...make it...stop," he gagged and clapped a hand over his mouth, smearing his lips with the stuff.

"Here..."
Crow ripped a long strip off her shirt and clamped it onto Liam's nose, mindful it was broken.
"Do you even realize what you've done to yourself," she said, not asking, simply stating as she tried to staunch the bleeding.

Liam clamped the cloth to his nose and sat, reasonably calmer. He leaned into Crow and tried to even out his breathing.
"Yeah," Liam said, "I'm a douche." He knew the question was hypothetical. It didn't matter.
"But at least now I can know what you go through." He snarfed blood and grimaced.
