You know you hit the bass drum too hard when the mallet flies out of your hand and hits your director in the head... DURING A CONCERT

how bout that in the fanfare part of the alma mater during homecoming

Kokihi
how bout having a crash cymbal pop on the first crash of a show =P
heh...

1. Leave a drumstick on a stage light for so long it combusts.

2. Get you crash cymbals suctioned together during a crash. done it...

3. Knock off more that one chime on a set of wind chimes.

4. Dent the gong

5. Snap a marimba bar.

6. Hit a phenolic bell mallet so hard it shatters into five or more pieces.

7. Crack the head of a timpani during a drumroll.

8. Break the triangle.

9. Crash a pair of cymbals and have one of the cymbals fall off of the handle during the crash. Done it...

10. Lock the drum key in the drum while you are replacing the head. done it

woot

Drop a triangle during the most quiet part of a song you can, during the concert.

how bout
"Jordan was to play chimes this year. This made him very, very sad. He did not want to play chimes. He wanted to play bass drum. The head of our section ( whose name is also Jordan) said ' Suck it up!' and jammed his snare stick in a place no one wants it to go. So jordan sucked it up but was still VERY unhappy. He played the first two measures ALONE....
He played very quietly. Mr. Parmenter said 'Louder, Shaf (his nickname)! You are playing at FFF!!!!'
So he plaued louder....Needless to say, a baritone and two trombones got thwacked with chucks of glass ( the material the mallets of the chime are made of) and a poor witness (...me) got sent to the nurse's office with a BLEEDING EYE!!!!!!!!"

Um...here's a bad combination from our Jazz Band:

flying drumstick + clarinetist's head = laughter

Actually, it didn't hit him, he just picked it up from where he was standing and said "I GOT IT!"

Needless to say, it was hilarius. J.R. needs to keep a better grip on his drumsticks during solos...

here we go for good Jazz band rhythm section stories...

i am my jazz band's vibe player... and i was doing my usual 4 mallet comp chords... and just when i got a melodic line... he head flies off of my main mallet and right into the audience!

I broke my very first drum stick in seventh grade. only minutes beofre a concert. no one likes the sound of an SD1 with more than it's weight worth of duct tape holding it together.

back in 8th grade, we were settin up for the concert and i accidently knocked over the suspended cymbal

this year, during fall season i was pushing our case full of sound equipment (over $1000 worth!) adn the top jsut started falling.....

then when we got back from graduation at the end of the year i was going to take it out of the trailer. well the idiot who was helping me (that things dam heavy) went and let go halfway down the ramp so here i am trying to keep ti from falling over as it hits the ground. it does start to fall over but luckily me and another managed to stop it literally about 2 inches from the ground....

lol that dude got chewed out after we saved it..... when i had dropped it i just got told how much it was worth and try not to drop it again
