Anala watched the crab in utter fascination. It was waving. And it looked weird. What was it? Waving back, she giggled and took a deep breath, opening her mouth. "HIII--" The rest of her cry was muffled by Alek's free hand.

Looking Anala in the eye, Alek said, mildly, "Stop. No more, you're gonna bust my ears if you keep that up." Ignoring her protests, he half-smiled at Aurrek's words. "That sounds a bit like what happened to me, actually. Found Anala with some kids, and she latched onto me. Wouldn't let me give her to the orphanage, screamed like anything." Making a face, he chuckled at the memory and continued, "Grew on me'n my brother, though."

"Orphanage," Aurrek murmured, glancing upwards as he considered it. "Never thought of that."

Of course he had plans for his kid now, anyway. The god would just have to put up with the crying and the poo-poo diapers and all so eventually, Kelreid could grow up into a worshipper. Aurrek would be able to shower him with all the blessings he could offer (not too terribly many, but still, a blessing was a blessing, right?), and in return, the hourglass god would finally be able to start rebuilding his cult. A fair trade, if you asked him.

"Yeah, I couldn't get rid of this little guy now," he said, turning his attention back to Alek. "I'm just not so sure how eager I am for it to happen again, you know?"

Kelreid shrieked back happily at Anala, then yawned. He was starting to get sleepy, but there was so many interesting things going on that he just had to try to stay awake! He rubbed at his eyes with a chubby fist, then grinned at everyone he could see from where he was lying in his pile of blankets.

The crab was thankful at least that the Sin'aeis baby had apparently forgotten him. He kept waving for the moment, though, hoping to keep the other kid entertained, too. Mortals. They were so amusing sometimes.

"Yeah...If we got landed with another kid, I'm not sure what we'd do with them. One's more than enough." Alek winced suddenly, feeling Anala lick his hand. Quickly removing it, he rubbed her saliva onto her hair. "Gross! That's gross! Don't do that."

Anala grinned and stuck her tongue out. "Neeehhh. Don' do that," she repeated in a singsong voice. Looking down at Kelreid and the crab, at thought struck her. She didn't know thier names! That wouldn't do at all, no sir. She wanted to play. She couldn't play with nameless people. Pointing into the pram, Anala piped, "Who'sat 'n wazzat?"

"Oh, the boy is Kelreid," Aurrek answered on behalf of the infant. Then he hastily added, "And I'm Aurrek. Sorry for the lack of proper introductions before."

He glanced down at the crab in the pram, and figured it could not hurt to introduce him, too. "And the white crab's name is Nordri." No one in Gaia would have any chance of recognizing the name; Aurrek had to remember that and quit freaking out so much. Besides, Nordri was going to stay a crab forever.

Kelreid cooed quietly and clutched at his blankets.

Anala pointed at each of them in turn, repeating the names to herself. Then she paused and giggled, turning Kelreid's name over in her mind. "Kel-ree-id. Kelree? Kelly." Pointing at herself, she piped, "Anala. Ni-su meetchu."

Alek nodded his head, saying, "And I'm Alek." His mouth quirked upwards. "It's all right, I--"

PICK UP THE PHONE, HEY AL THIS IS YOUR PHONE RINGING--

Alek jumped and reached into his pocket, fumbling slightly with his armload before flipping his cellphone open. "He didn't--Marius! What're you messing with my stuff for?!" Laughter issued forth from the phone, and Alek frowned. "It's obnoxious, what are you talking--what makes you think she'll listen to me? She's like a rock--" The conversation continued for a couple minutes, then--"...fine, fine. Shut up, all right, I'll take care of it."

Alek flipped the phone shut and tucked it away. Sighing, he smiled apologetically and said, "My brother. That guy--anyway, I gotta go. Sorry. Seeya around maybe, Aurrek." Alek bowed his head and waved, then turned and started limping away. Anala, shifting so she could see over his shoulder, waved as well.

"Bye~!"
