"Is anyone ever really what you think they are?" She shrugged, but shook it off.
Feeling the weight of the gaze on her shoulders, Terra smiled to herself as her escort seemed to be weighing down his desires with the noble ettiquette he'd been born to. A little help I suppose, this one time.
Her step slowed a moment, so that her back was almost pressed into him. Wrapping her arms around herself, she let a shiver fall through her spine.
"It's a bit cold, don't you think?"

Heat rose once more into MacBeth's cheeks, but he let common sense take over his nervousness. Wrapping his arm around her in a polite manner, he gently held her to him as they walked.
"Yeah, it is a cold evening."
MEANWHILE, AT THE CASTLE
"Oui, zey're almost here! Get ready, my performers!"

Without a word, for words would likely make the moment awkward for her companion, the moss haired girl let her head rest on the arm wrapped around her shoulders as they made their way down the street.
It really was a lovely evening.

It was dark when MacBeth opened the door for Terra. He peered inside and closed the door behind him.
"I wonder where they are... where's a lightswitch..."
As if on cue, a spotlight switched on and focused on the 'MC' of the evening.
.... It was a candlestick.
"Oh, Lumiere. Nice to see--" MacBeth shut up as the candle made a 'shhh' noise.
"Non, non, non. Do not say anything. Simply help your charming guest into a chair and we'll take care of the rest."
MacBeth could only obey.

Terra blinked. Terra paused in step. Terra even blinked once more.
It was then she turned to her escort with a curious look as he escorted her to a seat. Only then was she finally able to blurt out,
"Is that candle... talking?"

MacBeth didn't want to be shushed by the 'talking candle' again, so he merely nodded.
"First on the menu we have..." Lumiere made a flamboyant gesture to a bowl of... something... something that smelled good. However, MacBeth's eyes were quickly drawn away from that as little fireworks went off and a row of dancing forks came out.
"SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIIIIIIP~"

What was going on? She really had no idea, everything seemed to be whirling around. She'd seen moving appliances in the main Castle, but never dancing flatware or talking candles with french accents.
Her head buzzed as the light from the fireworks kept her well entranced. Mostly with the idea of what the hell was this?
And who really ate spinach and artichoke dip anyways? Really?

As MacBeth sat down across from Terra, he motioned for Lumiere to tone it down a bit. Lumine nodded and shooed the dancing forks away.
"Cut ze fireworks, mon cherie!"
Instead, a few candleabras lit up, giving the room a dim glow.
"Is zat better?"
MacBeth nodded with relief.
"Now, how do you two want your filet mignon cooked?"
MacBeth prayed that Terra wasn't a vegetarian.

"Thank you." she let what had just passed slide off her shoulders. In fact, she was even a bit embarrassed having reacted so poorly.
"Medium, please."
Her shoulders relaxed and she clasped her hands over her lap. Now that it had calmed down, it was a rather nice. Pretty, in it's own way.

MacBeth ordered medium-well, then leaned forward and whispered, "I'm sorry about that. I didn't know that he was so... flamboyant."
He took a spoonful of the creamed spinach and tested it. He blinked in surprise before politely starting to eat it.
Apparantly, he ate spinach and artichoke dip.

"It's fine. No harm done." She smiled politely as Macbeth apologized for the strange candle creature.
Turning to watch as he tested the dip, she found herself not overly surprised that he seemed to like it. Macbeth seemed like the sort who really would like a spinach and artichoke dip. He probably wasn't one for spices either. At least, that's how she would pinpoint it.
The room was quite nice, to say the least, as her attention moved away from her date. Impressive, not overly decorated. Just nice. She had to admit the light from the candles faintly glowing was lovely.
It was still so strange to her. Somehow she had never pictured herself in this moment, sitting with this man in a place such as this. No. It was almost surreal to her. Maybe it was all just a very lovely dream instead.
Well, she certainly hoped not.

MacBeth was practically beaming with happiness. Here he was, across the table from the woman of his dreams. Sure, it was corny, but he really did like Terra. She looked stunning in the golden glow of the candles, the light gently shimmering in her green hair.
He reached forward a bit, searching for her hand.
"Terra..."
"AND NOW! The main COURSE!" Lumiere couldn't resist announcing it with a flourish, and MacBeth cringed.
Two gorgeous steaks were presented to them, with garlic mashed potatoes in a china bowl.
MacBeth's jaw dropped.
"That... was... fast."

"Hmm?" her chin tilted back towards her date, smiling as she heard her name. Noting his hand moving towards hers, she left it a bit closer for him to reach.
At least, until that candle came rushing back in with dinner. Her hand quickly retreated for fear of it being crushed by the dining ware being set before them.
"Heh, thank you." she said in a quiet tone. She really did not want to know how it was prepared so quickly. Seemingly to spec as well.
No. Some questions were better left unanswered in life. This was certainly one of those questions.

"Thank you, Lumiere," MacBeth nodded to the candleabra.
"Always a pleasure to help royalty, and his lovely, lovely companion," Lumiere batted his eyes at Terra, and MacBeth blushed when Lumiere mentioned his lineage.
The steak was perfect. Tender, and yet not undercooked. And his weakness was mashed potatoes, how did that candle know his food weaknesses?
Next time he'd have to get him to figure out -Terra's- favorite foods.

The wariness of the strange Candelabra seemed to wear off as Terra giggled slightly at Lumiere batting his eyes at her. She nodded as well.
"Yes, thank you very much... Lumiere. It looks wonderful." she lightly touched at her food with her fork. It certainly looked like it had been cooked regularly. Macbeth didn't seem to concerned so she figured it had to be alright.
