If he realised she was leaving on a journey in the middle of the night, he'd offer his services as a guardian if she wasn't taking her mate or any other companions. By then he'll have been away and back again fighting hyenas and dealing with Twawa's actions in the pack...so he'd be hesitant to let Lela go off alone - "It's a dangerous world out there for a lone dog".

I'm glad you like her.

She'll be able to put up with it especially since she's had a hard time ever since she was born. She basically grew up without her parents around living off of the false hope her mother would return to the barren and deserted lands that used to be a pride. So she might have some hard times but I think she'll be able to get through it.
