Chapter One__Easter Morning
It was a warm Easter morning, and Gloha was sitting on her roof, not an unusual thing for her. She was watching the clouds go by, and thoroughly enjoying her day. Terry was in the distance, searching for the Easter eggs that Gloha had hidden for her. Suddenly, Gloha stood up, startled. She thought that she had heard something. She climbed down the ladder that led to the roof and looked around. There it was again! She shook her head. She must be hearing things. But no. She knew that she had heard something. She ran out into the long grass, her eyes searching for anything out of place. There! She saw a splash of color where there should have been none. She almost laughed out loud. It was just an egg. With an amused smile on her face, she walked up to it, intending to pick it up and be on her way. But when she got there, she stopped for a moment, too shocked to move. It was not an egg. It was a child. A very strange child at that. Carefully, she bent down, and picked the colorful baby up. It stared up at her solemnly, it’s eyes wide and observant. Gloha stared back, completely confused by now. Where had this kid come from? There was no one living around her for miles, and if someone was going to just drop a child somewhere, you’d think they’d choose somewhere more convenient. Standing up, her eyes scanned the area around her, trying to find some trace of how this baby had gotten here. She found none of course, and started back toward the house with a sigh. She’d keep the kid for tonight, and then go into town with her in the morning to try to find her parents.

Chapter Two__A Trip Into Town
The next morning was hectic, with Gloha getting ready to go into town, and Terry’s constant questions about the baby. It was only natural that she would be curious as to why a baby had shown up in the middle of the field, but still, Gloha found herself getting a little bit annoyed. Finally though, Gloha set off on the short trip, the sleeping baby cradled carefully in her arms. She would have liked something to carry the child in, but she really didn’t have anything that would work. So, after a good hour or so of steady walking, she arrived at the town, the baby none the worse for wear, even if Gloha’s shoulder was a little bit sore. But when she finally got to the town, she realized that she didn’t have much of a plan. How exactly did one look for the parents of a baby? She couldn’t just go around putting up posters, could she? Thoroughly at a loss, she just kind of stood in the middle of the main square, unsure of what she should do next. She had walked all the way into town, and it seemed like a waste to do that all for nothing. So, with a small sigh of frustration, she walked into a nearby grocery store, planning to at least pick up some groceries while she was here. While she was in there however, she found herself straying unintentionally towards the baby supplies. After about five times of suddenly finding herself walking along a shelf of baby food, she finally gave in and bought some things that she thought a baby might need. She even bought some paint with which to decorate one of the spare rooms. Gloha looked down thoughtfully at the still-sleeping bundle in her arms. Well… It wouldn’t hurt to take care of her for a little while… She thought, smiling slightly when the small thing yawned. She was kind of cute after all. Besides, Gloha still had no plan for finding her parents. Maybe she could just watch her until she figured out a way to get an ad out or something. Put the kid’s face on a milk carton maybe? Did they even do that anymore…? Gloha shook herself out of her sidetracked thoughts, and glanced back down at the girl, who had now opened her eyes slightly. Well, it was no use standing around here anymore. She checked out of the small store, and headed home, considering the possibility of another child to care for. She sighed slightly. Probably wasn’t going to be quite as easy as it was with Terry.

Toddler Quest! Our little Easter Egg girl seems to be pretty active! With that colorful head of hers, what shall she looks like as a toddler? Lets find out! In order to grow, she'll need a set of legos, three dolls, a playing card, and two masks. Odd things, to be sure, but she needs them all the same! Where she gets them, well that's up to her to decide.
Life went by quickly at Gloha’s house after she had decided to take the child in. The attention that had to be given to a baby was unimaginable! Megan, as she had decided to name her child, wasn’t particularly loud, and didn’t cry much more than she had to to get Gloha’s attention, but she was still a handful. It had been a while since that day when Gloha found Megan in the field, but she still found herself at a loss sometimes as to how to care for something so young. Today, Gloha was taking Megan and Terry into the city, since there were some things that she needed that she couldn’t pick up at the town. With a small sigh, she strapped a giggling Megan into her stroller, and double-checked to make sure that Terry had her coat on. It was nice to finally have something to do besides take care of the kids, but she never enjoyed dragging them around with her when she went places. Especially not in the colder weather. But she couldn’t just leave them at home, could she? She considered it for a moment. Well, she couldn’t leave them at home alone of course, but there were some people in town that might take them for a couple of hours…. She warmed to this prospect immediately, and bent down next to Terry. “Terry, do you think you’d mind staying with Mrs. Rye for a little while with Megan?” Terry shook her head and smiled slightly. She didn’t care. Besides, she liked being alone with Megan. She was such a cute little thing. Gloha smiled. “Good then. We can ask when we get to town.” A while later, they finally arrived at the first house that announced the start of the town. When they had gotten some ways into the town, Gloha went up and knocked on one of the doors. An elderly woman opened the door, and the two talked for a couple of minutes. After they were done, Gloha turned back to the children. “Ok you two,” she said, taking Megan from her stroller, and handing her over to the woman, “Mrs. Rye has agreed to watch you guys while I’m gone. Don’t leave the house, and please be good for her.” She smiled at Terry. “Watch Megan too, okay Terry? Mrs. Rye doesn’t have the best hearing, and she’s a bit forgetful sometimes. Just try to keep an eye on things, all right?” At that moment, the small bus that ran through the town four times a week pulled up at the stop. Gloha gave Terry a quick hug, and then dashed onto the bus right before the doors closed. Terry watched it shrink further and further into the distance until it finally disappeared, and then followed Mrs. Rye inside. The inside of the woman’s house was relatively small, but not so tiny that you’d feel cramped. It was just right for someone living alone. Terry looked around a bit, noting the pictures on the wall, and the one propped up on a table of Mr. Rye, who had long since passed on. Megan had been set down on the floor in the living room, and was simply sitting where she’d been left, staring wide-eyed at her new surroundings. Mrs. Rye was in the kitchen making plenty of noise, probably preparing lunch for her guests. Terry sighed, and sat down beside Megan. She didn’t mind Mrs. Rye, and staying here was better than going into the city, but being in town still depressed her somewhat. Then again, if it weren’t for all that had happened, Terry wouldn’t have really known either Gloha or Megan. She was glad for that, but still… Lost in her thoughts, Terry didn’t notice Megan making her way towards Mrs. Rye’s open bedroom door. When she looked up, the curious baby was already through the door. Inside the room, Megan had crawled under the bed, and found her way into some dusty boxes that had probably been there for some years. Inside these boxes was a vast array of treasures that Megan examined with growing delight. She laid them out on the floor in front of her, and grew to love them in that short period of time. Her collection included three little dolls, and a colorful mask. When Terry finally found her, Megan refused to relinquish her newfound riches, so Terry had to carry the child into the kitchen with her clutching her possessions. Mrs. Rye laughed when she saw what had happened. “Oh, that’s all right,” the kindly old woman said, “Those are just some of my old things. She can have them if she likes. I don’t need them anymore.” Megan giggled happily, and finally allowed Terry to remove the items from her grasp so that she could eat something. And so, a couple of rather uneventful hours later, Gloha returned from her shopping trip in the city to find Terry watching TV, and Megan fast asleep on the floor. “How’d everything go?” she asked Terry in a low whisper, trying not to wake Megan. Of course, it didn’t work, and Megan’s eyes flew open, the child letting out a small laugh to see that Gloha was back. Gloha sighed good humouredly, and picked the baby up. “I bought something for you,” she said, smiling. She pulled out a small plastic rabbit mask, and handed it over to Megan, who carefully inspected it, and then let out a small gurgle of approval. She was overjoyed at receiving so many gifts so suddenly. “I also got you two some legos,” she said, turning to Terry, “I mean, I didn’t know if you’d like them or not, but I felt bad for having to leave you guys alone.” She gave Megan to Mrs. Rye for a moment so that she could rummage through her bag, and then pulled out a book. “I was at a used book store, and I saw something I thought you might like,” she said, presenting a thick leather-bound book to Terry. The girl took it, and smiled. “Thank you,” she said, thumbing through the pages. She had been running out of books, and this one looked as though it would last for a little while longer than the ones she normally read. In it’s pages though, she found a playing card, the ace of spades. She pulled it out, and looked at it for a moment. Someone had probably been using it as a bookmark. Megan spotted the small piece of paper, and reached out her little arms, giggling. Terry grinned. “All right, all right,” she said, “You can have this too.” She handed it to the little girl, and Megan almost instantly tried to stick it in her mouth. “Ack, no Megan!” Gloha exclaimed, “That’s not what those are for!” She took the card and stuck it in her pocket. “I’ll just hold onto this for you, all right?” Megan tilted her head slightly, but didn’t disagree. “Uhm, well, thanks for everything Mrs. Rye,” Gloha said, taking Megan from the woman, “But we really need to get going now.” Mrs. Rye smiled. “Of course,” she said, “Be careful on the way home.” Three dolls! [[THANK YOU RAYNE WINNER!]]

Ability Quest! You may be young, Megan, but you already have some problems to deal with. Two of your friends/relatives/acquaintances are fighting, and both believe they are right. You need to help them work out their problem so they are both at least somewhat happy in the end.
“No!” Terry yelled, storming out of the room and up the stairs to her room. Megan stared after her in bewilderment. She had never seen Terry so worked up like this. The whole morning had been spent like this though. Ever since Gloha had brought up the subject of school. Megan really didn’t know what school was, but for Terry to be acting like this, it must be something truely awful. She felt sorry for her sister. Megan glanced up at Gloha, who was sitting at the kitchen table looking incredibly worn out. Gloha noticed the small girl’s glance, and offered a slight smile. “What’s wrong with school?” Megan asked curiously, pulling herself with some difficulty up onto the chair across the table from Gloha, “It’s a really bad thing?” Gloha sighed and shook her head. “No, it’s not exactly a bad thing,” she said, “It’s just that Terry… Doesn’t want to go.” This was all the more confusing to Megan though. If it wasn’t a bad thing, than what reason was there for Terry not to want to go? “Why?” she asked innocently, gazing at Gloha with wide eyes. Gloha hesitated for a moment. “Why…?” she said quietly, staring back at Megan. “Well, that’s a good question,” she said finally, “I guess I never really asked. It doesn’t make much sense, does it?” Megan nodded, though she had no idea what Gloha meant by that. She followed closely behind as Gloha made her way up the stairs to Terry’s door and knocked. There was a pause before the door was opened up, and Terry’s face appeared, looking more than a little irritated. “What is it?” she said. Gloha fidgeted a bit. She had never had to deal with an angry Terry before. A few tense seconds went by. “Why don’t you like school?” Megan finally blurted out, getting bored with this. Terry blinked. “Well…” she started, her face a bit red, “I really just don’t want to.” She looked away. “I guess it’s because… I don’t want to go back.” Gloha blinked, finally understanding. “Because of your parents,” she said softly, “I see.” The school was where Terry had been when she had first found out that her parents had passed away. They would have pulled her away from class and everything to tell her. It was no wonder that she didn’t want to go back there. Megan, who had no idea what they were talking about, looked with annoyance from Gloha to Terry. “So is everything ok now?” she asked impatiently. Terry looked at Gloha. “Is it?” she repeated sheepishly. Gloha gave a weak smile. “Yeah,” she said, “School can wait a little longer I suppose.” Megan broke out in a grin. “Good.”
