"Uthe your handth!" Reese supplied, clenching and opening his fingers into little fists. "I gotth no legth either, uthe what'cha got!" He beamed brightly up at the cow boy. He learned things quick...really quick. Grabbing hold of bars and the platform, Reese scooted himself forward to sit at the mouth of the slide. It was a lot easier to move when gravity wasn't playing against him.

"Like thith," he instructed, grabbing the sides of the slide. "Not gonna go too fatht." He sounded almost wise, having gone down a slide many times before by himself. His mouth curled into another smile and he patted the spot behind him.

"You too!" he called, sliding his lower body so his tail pointed down the slide. Then he waited. He wouldn't go until Cody came with him.

Cody cleared his throat a bit and adjusted his hat, "I ain't scared if that's what'cher thinkin'. I jus' never gone an' done it a'fore." He slowly stepped over to the top of the slide and gave it a long look over. It was true- he'd never gone down a slide. He'd seen other kids go down and go flying right off on TV. He mentally noted that it might be a good idea to spend less time in front of that thing...

"Alright alright." He clopped himself over and plopped himself right down on his bum, kind of giving the slide another last look, "Kay then. You say when an' we'll go ahead an' do this thing."

As Cody slid down behind him (( I'm assuming with Reese between his knees, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. )), Reese's tail coiled loosely around the bull's ankle. It was a shockingly strong grip for such a thin piece of his body and had a dry squishiness to it, being made out of muscle and covered with Reese's weird soft sort of plated scale/skin. Once Cody was settled, he glanced back over his shoulder with a grin.

"Ready?" he asked, arms reaching out to grab the sides of the slide. "Thet...go!" And Reese scooted his butt forward, starting to move down the slide. He would use his hands like breaks, not allowing himself to go so fast that he lost control.

Cody hesitated a bit, glancing off to the side. He looked almost sick. "...man this looks so flipin' gay..." He snorted a bit, waiting for the seahorse kid to slide down a bit first. Sure it was innocent fun but if someone glanced over and thought the wrong thing he'd have to leave a trail of teeth from his place to D-corp's main building to get his reputation back. "Uh..." He cleared his throat and nodded a bit, kind of letting himself slip down after Reese had already gone on ahead.

"Weee!" Reese cheered as they went down and around on the slide. He loved these things! And he got to share the fun with a new friend, how awesome!

Like he cared about looking gay. What was gay? He surely didn't know.

As they got closer to the bottom of the slide, he squeezed more on the side of the slide, trying to slow down.

"Thlow, thlow!" he called out. Of course, this would only work if Cody followed his lead and did the same, allowing them to stop. Reese could only slow himself so much with the weight of the older boy behind him.

Cody slid himself down right after Reese, tucking his knees up close to his chest and grinding his hooves into the slide which resulted in a teeth-grindingly delightful sound along with the squeeking of his hands gripping to the side of the slide to slow himself down. It worked well enough though by the time he slid to a stop behind Reese the hair along the back of his neck was standing on end and both ears were twitching a bit. "Tootin' tarnation an' flamin' shitballs!" He clicked his hooves on the slide a bit, "Damn-nabbit if I never gotta 'ear that sound again it'll be too soon!"

"Waaaah!" Reese squealed unhappily at the sound, wincing the rest of the way down until the pair stopped and the noise echoed away. He rubbed at his ears, his face pouting as he glanced back at the other boy. By this time, Cody went on again, saying words that Reese didn't understand. All he knew was that the boy hadn't liked the screeching either.

"Thit," he muttered after hearing Cody say it for the second time. "That hurt," he muttered, wrinkling his nose. Wasn't a very smart thing to do in Reese's opinion, even if it had worked.

But now the boys faced a problem: getting Reese back into his wheelchair. That was definitely one thing Reese couldn't do by himself, not on the blanket of wood chips that lined the ground around them. That would hurt too much. Puffing air into his cheek, he glanced back at Cody before looking over at the wheelchair.

"Help thith time? Pleathe?"

"Best not say that word 'round yer ol' man, kid." Cody muttered, rubbing at his ears a bit, "I got a good thwackin' last I said it 'round Winter. She got redder'n a middle-schooler in a highschool girl's room." He recalled the incident quite clearly. He'd slammed his thumb in the door and screamed the word loud enough to rouse- and rather disturb -his adopted brother.

"...damnit kid." Cody huffed and hopped himself back onto the ground, giving it a good drag of one of his hooves, "Ya gotta think ahead too. This 'ere's bark. Gives ya splinters if ya rub it wrong- an' there's a whole lotta it tah be rubbin' in all sortsa ways 'ere. If ya were 'ere all yerself what'd ya do then?"

Reese's little face puffed out with air, his nose wrinkling as he thought on that. Yeah...what would he do if he were here by himself?

"Wouldn't be here," he muttered out the corner of his mouth. Not in a snappy fashion, just as a statement because it was true. He wouldn't go anywhere by himself, Edge said it wasn't safe to do that.

Looking around, Reese pondered the question more seriously. He couldn't crawl across the bark; like Cody said, that would hurt. So he had to find another way back to his chair...

Glancing over his shoulder, Reese looked up the spiral of the slide. He could always go back the way he came, couldn't he? He'd seen other kids walk up the wrong way, maybe he could pull himself up?

"Go back up," he finally said, looking at Cody again with a proud smile. "Uthe what I got!" If anything, he could try.

"Or at least try." Cody nodded, hopping back onto the slide. "If I can do it with mah hooves then it should be easy fer ya. I'll jus' use my arms." He smirked and slapped his bicep a bit, "All in th' arms an' shoulders. If ya work 'em out then ya can go wherever ya want by yerself. Nothin' ya can't do. No excuses." He nodded firmly.

"No 'thutheth," Reese repeated, puffing air into his cheeks and giving a definitive nod. His rear end scooted closer up behind where Cody stood on the slide, reaching his little arms out again for either side. He tried to pull his tail up closer under his body, pressing somewhat into the corner. He could pull himself up (maybe), and use his tail to keep from sliding back down.

Glancing up at Cody, he beamed. "Ready when you are." They could do this together, no problem!

"Right." Cody nodded sharply then slowly looked up the long stretch of slick metal that awaited his attempt up it. He wrinkled his nose a bit and let out a sharp snort, reaching out to grip the railing. Piece of cake! He could get up a damn slide with his...eye closed. Of course if he couldn't it would totally defeat the purpose of his little lesson to the seahorse kid and make him look like an idiot to boot. "Alright...jus' take a deep breath..."

"Cody!" A voice broke the bull's concentration and sent him groaning and arching his head upside-down to get a glympse at the silver-haired boy running their way.

"Damnit Edan not now. Can't'cha see I'm leanin' this kid good?"
Of course he'd never admit in a million years that he was glad for the distraction that his brother's arrival meant. By all rights Edan was actually older than Cody but the kid would never grow past what he was. In Cody's mind it made him little and Edan wasn't in any position to argue.

"Winter told you not to be out." Edan frowned as he stepped closer, stopping just out of the bull's arm reach. "You should be resting."

"I'm fine damnit." Cody glared hard, flipping his head right back up, "'cides, I bet you taddled."

Reese's attention was on Cody the whole time...waiting for enough space to move up behind him, readied to try anything with the older boy in the lead!

Until something, someone, drew his attention elsewhere. Reese's head whipped about to look at the other boy running towards them, his tail uncurling from around the lip of the slide. This new person didn't seem too happy with the bull...had Cody done something wrong? What was wrong with going outside, it was such a nice day! Why would anyone want to rest on a day like this?

"Hi," Reese finally managed to get in when the conversation paused...wiggling his hand at the one Cody called Edan. "He'th teaching me ta uthe what I got!" And the little sea horse nodded his head, very proud that he had such a good teacher.

Edan paused, while he'd been sounding pretty firm earlier he never really seemed angry. He had a very gentle face, almost timid. He dressed very nicely, his hair- very much unlike his brother's- was kept well-combed and pulled back out of his face. He didn't seem to notice Reese having been there before. Frankly, he was embarassed and half appauled that he'd not been more polite. "Ooh... hello there." He smiled a bit and lifted a hand in greeting, "And who might you be?"

"Trot off pipsqueek. I'm busy." Cody snorted and gripped onto the railing again, squaring both his shoulders and jaw. Not now... he had something to prove. Some little bit of slippery metal wasn't going to beat him! Not by a long shot...

"I'm Reethe!" The little seahorse said cheerily, bouncing slightly in his excitement to meet someone new. Two new people in one day, how awesome! He was making friends left and right, Poppa would be so proud of him.

Oh, but...yeah. Cody was right, they had a job to do!

"Gonna climb up!" Reese said definitively, nodding his head as he gripped the side of slide with his tail again. "Ready!" he called up ahead to the bull boy, sticking his tongue out the corner of his mouth in concentration. They could do this! Easy stuff!
