Somewhere in the dark reaches of the Dragnid forest there was a well, forgotten by all except the trees that kept watch over it. Located in a small clearing, several paths had once led to the little well, all terribly overgrown now and barely discernible amidst the other brush - once a place of meeting and importance, was now abandoned by time. The well was old, covered in crawling vines and dust, the roof, rotted, had caved in years ago, with none to notice. The air around the clearing was primming with restrained energy, expectant almost, waiting for some event it had somehow sensed would occur. A small creature was the first to notice the change. Almost squirrel-like, the power of the forest having mutated it beyond recognition, it stood up on its hind legs sniffed the air tentatively, before quickly darting off.
For the shadows had started to come alive. The trees overhanging the clearing were old and gnarled, thick with branches and leaves that completely blocked out the sun, casting shadows and darkness around the clearing. And those shadows now were slowly, ever so slowly, starting to come together, pulling themselves away from their anchor and sliding across the clearing, melding together into one. The melded shadows then took an almost human-like form, seeming to come to life as a glowing red glare appeared in the holes of its eyes. It glanced about the small clearing as if seeing it for the first time, judging it, before looking down at its own self. Seeming to approve, it moved sluggishly toward the well, and held out its hands. The shadow creature uttered a word, just a single, unrecognizable word, a word that had never been heard by any in this plane of existence before, and waited, arms still held out.
And slowly, even more slowly than it itself had come together, other shadows began to merge together, not sliding along the ground as before but being sucked into a vacuum that seemed to have formed above the creatures hands. A ball of the shadows gathered amidst the vacuum, twisting about. As more shadows were drawn in, the speed of the twisting and the strength of the vacuum only grew. The clearing had lightened considerably, though still no sun shined through the thick overhanging branches of the trees, but because all the darkness had now been gathered in one pitch black spot.
The shadow creature spoke yet another word and this time at it's command the gathered shadows seemed to solidify, to transform themselves into something more real than the wisp-like darkness. And then the creature began to sing, softly, slowly, the words still unrecognizable. But it was doing something else as it sang, something just as strange. Using its own clumsily crafted hands, it was shaping the now solid shadows, molding it. Before long, the bundle took on a pae like appearance. It was small, jet black, but with purple translucent wings and a small curl of matching hair. The molding continued and a silver circlet formed around her head with a tiny red jewel placed right in over the forehead. Sensing it's time was running out, the shadow creature speed up it's work, now scraping away some of the shadow on the small creatures hips with it's finger nail, leaving behind several etchings, runes, that burned bright crimson red. It placed a finger now over each rune and again speaking a single word before moving on to the next rune: "-,-,-,-." Each rune glowed with red light as if being activated by magic.
Letting go of the bundled, the shadow creature now stepped backwards and uttered "Orio'Ur." At once, light burst forth from the bundled before receding back into it and the bundled, now brimming with life startled to scream it's first cry. An infant - a girl fae child, had been born from the shadows. Th creature rushed forward, catching the infant in midair. It spoke again, "Cynath," and the little girl fell silent, still, and slept deeply.
"Lhiannan Sidhe, child born of the shadows, here you shall rest, until growth, until you are able to care for yourself." It voice was soft and rasping. The shadow creature could almost feel sorry for the tiny being, left alone in these dangerous woods, even with her various magical enchantments of protection.
But it's form was borrowed, it could not stay here any longer. Gathering together more clusters of shadows nearby, it formed them into a cloud upon which it laid the child's limp form. 'Almost as if she is sleeping' the shadow creature thought with a vague wistful glance. It commanded the shadow cloud to lower, taking the infant child down below it's sight into the well, coming to a rest when it reached the bottom, the shadows dissipating from under her form and returning back into the darkness.
Once lowered into the well, the shadow creature, it's form beginning to fall apart, shadows fleeing back to their rightful places, outstretched it's arm and uttered a final word of protection over the well, as the last of it's body returned into the shadows.

A red light suddenly burst forth from well, streaming skywards as birds in the area took flight at the disturbance. A the bottom of the well two, purple eyes suddenly popped open, filled with anger. Her tiny body had transformed from an infant into a toddler, the spell the shadow creature had placed on her to sleep worn off. And she was angry. Very angry. Because for some reason, the spell had not entirely worked. Yes, she had slept, but she had also been aware of what was taking place around her. Her dreams it seemed had instructed her, telling her of such things that a small toddler should not ever know. Lhiannan pulled herself up, shaking of the slumber, her body weak. Her dreams had instructed her what she must do to survive but the problem that she was trapped now by the magical enchantment protecting the entrance to the well. She glared up at it, anger still evident. A loud cracked reverberated throughout the clearing, the magic barrier broken by the force of her hatred. A wicked grin crossed her face and she sat back down against the edge of the well, waiting. Sooner or later a small little animal would come scampering by and she would lure it in. And then...time for supper. Her shadow creature had done well after all.

Torvil Mammon and Lemura were sitting in the HQ living room, looking around with their pitchforks, Mammon had discovered that over night, wherever the tip of his pitchfork touched, a small colony of fleas would sprout up. His sister on the other hand, showed no sign of any special ability, save that every now and then, she made her ears bigger... Which Mammon found hilarious, and Lemura often smacked him for.
They were still a team of course, but right now they were trying to plan out their next course of action.
The assault on the kitchen. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan didn't know much yet, but she knew she did not like whatever that wet stuff was falling from the sky. It didn't take much to fill the well she called home, the rising water level raising her floating form up as well. Within hours the well was completely filled and water started to overflow out, carry her along as it flowed to join the nearest water source. Before long she found herself at the edge of a marsh, cold, wet, muddy, and not happy in the least.
Shelter. She needed a new shelter, somewhere she could get out of the rain. Her stomach growled. And food. Small animals falling into her well had been rare lately, they much have sensed the storm going and sought shelter themselves. The toddler thought she could see a light up ahead through the rain. Rising up on unsteady feet, slipping around in the mud, she headed of in that direction.
After what seemed like hours of traveling, she finally came upon a great big building. She reached up to open the door, only to discover she wasn't tall enough. Lhiannan growled. Who the hell made a building in the middle of nowhere that little kids weren't able to open...wait, perhaps it was someplace dangerous. A feral smile crossed her lips. Perhaps she could pull off the "abandoned baby on the doorstep" thing and discover what lurked within. She banged on the door as hard as she could and laid down on the cold steps with her thumb in her mouth. 'This better work' she thought with contempt. Torvil It was the banging on the door that got Mammon and Lemura off the floor and towards it. Mammon allowed his sister to climb his shoulders in order to operate the knob and pull the door open, once it was swinging freely, Lemura climbed down and the two went to see what was knocking.
"Pet," Lemura suddenly said, pointing at the wet, bedraggled toddler that sat on the doorstep. It wasn't a question, it was a statement, and Mammon only nodded, and moved over to drag the toddler inside.
By the foot. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan frowned as the door was opened by two children, barely larger than herself. Any hope she had of playing the "abandoned baby on doorstep" flew out of her head as soon as she heard the word "pet." She bristled in indignation. She was not a pet! How dare they! The insults only continued further as she was picked up by her foot and pulled inside. She struggled briefly before crossing her arms and allowing herself to be dragged. She would play their "pet" game for now, the time for her revenge would come before long. Torvil Once Mammon had dragged the tot to the main room, and Lemura had fetched what she'd been saving for her 'pet' it was a small bit of chain she'd salvaged to work like a collar... She slipped it around Lhiannan's neck, and clipped it to a 'leash' of leather she'd found. Lemura smiled and nodded her head at Mammon. "Pet..." She pointed at Lhiannan. "Pet sit!"
Mammon just watched with crossed arms, "Pet need something..." [chainedfaye] Lhiannan's eyes grew big as she saw the girl approach her with a chain. Immediately, she realized what it was for - they didn't merely want to play pretend pet, they want a real pet! She started to struggled but her effort was in vain as she had begun much much too late to prevent the inevitable from happening. Before she even realized, the chain was around her neck like a collar with a leather leash attached. How humiliating she growled, the growl echoing through the room. Sit? They wanted her to sit?? She'd show them sit! Grabbing hold of the leash she pulled on it with all her might unbalancing the demon girl holding it, while still growling loudly. The toddler screeched out "You sit!" Torvil Lemura growled as she was tugged, and she flailed a bit, then fell on her tush. Grumbling, she wrapped her arm around the leash and tugged. "BAD PET!" She shouted, yanking the chain collar as well.
Mammon laughed for a moment, then he eyes brightened, and he touched his pitchfork to the back of Lhiannan, summoning a colony of fleas. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan fell forward as the leash was tugged back by the horrible little monster girl. As the leash was pulled though, the chain collared tightened around her throat cutting off her precious air supply. She coughed madly trying to breath fresh oxygen into her lungs, without much success. With no other choice the toddler crawled forward closer to the demon relieving the slack on the leash and loosening the collar. She felt humiliated as she thankfully gasp for air.
But she had barely recovered when she felt her backside be poked by something..something sharp. And then the itchy, scrawly feeling that hundreds of tiny little creatures were crawling all over her. She turned her head around to discover the demon boy with his pitchfork just coming up from her flesh, leaving tons of tiny little fleas behind. She screeched again and squirmed around on the ground trying to swat them off and scratch the itchiness at the same time. Torvil The twins laughed for awhile, but before too much longer Lemura got bored, and quickly easily removed the collar from the thrashing toddler, she huffed and tossed it over her shoulder. "Pet boring... No want... Let's eat!"
Mammon nodded, and the two toddled off towards the kitchen. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan was still flailing around on the ground when she realized they had taken the collar off her and were leaving now. Did she hear mention of food? Pulling herself up on unsteady feet she followed the demonic pair, still itching in irritation at her diaper.
She followed them into a room with all sorts of funny contraptions, making sure to keep her distance. They seemed to have forgotten about her and she didn't want to remind them. She was furious with them for their little trick but she knew she'd get them back eventually. Revenge was sweet no matter how long it took.
She watched them carefully as they pulled what looked like food items out of different places in the strange room. Once it seemed like they had retrieved all they wanted she moved in and search in the same places. She didn't recognize any of this stuff but it smelled alright, she guess. Moving over to a corner where she could keep her eye on the evil pair, Lhiannan scarfed down the food, not really paying attention to the taste. She just needed nourishment right now, it didn't matter what.
Once she was done eating, it seemed as though the pair were still ignoring her. Feeling more energized then she had in awhile, she left them behind and headed back out int he rain, determined to make her way back to her well.

immortalmina Eclipse was walking around the city gates. The darkness began to swirl around him as per usual. He was used to it by now. Still, even being used to sucking away the light it still got him down no and again. At least he was all along and now one would be annoyed at not having light. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan was exploring the area around Dragnid forest. She didn't like being away from her well, it called to her somehow, but with the rain she wasn't able to find her way back, past the heavy rivers of water that had formed around it. Unable to return home, she explored hoping to find some place better to wait out the rain. Anything would have to be better than the last place she had found. High up in the sky she had spied the tall tips of a shiny white building and headed towards it slowly but surely, sometimes walking, a bit unsteadily though, sometimes crawling. She was almost to the shiny white place when the darkness filled in around her. She looked up in surprise - it wasn't time for the sun to fall yet and the clouds weren't that thick. But she liked the darkness, she blended in quite well with it. She giggled and started grasping at imaginary things in the darkness as she created all sorts of monsters in her mind. But then her hand came into contact with something warm...something fleshy. It felt like a leg! Well this time she wasn't taking any chances, she'd be on the offense from the first! She opened her mouth and bite down on the leg sinking her tiny little teeth in as hard as she could.
immortalmina Eclipse hadn't seen her right away as he was paying attention to the rain. He had forgotten it for the moment. He then felt the touch and then the bite. "Oh!" He said as he moved his leg around. "You're a toddler fae?" He asked as he looked down. Sure it was dark but he had night vision to cope with it. Eclipse put the light orb his son made near the girl so she could see him and let go. [chainedfaye] The light surprised the girl and she released her hold on his leg. The toddler scowled at him, malice in her eyes. Of course she was a fae, was he blind? Did he not recognize superiority when he saw it? Fae's where the bestest around and she was most certainly one of the bestest. Her eyes opened wider as she realized he was a fae too. Well maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
She looked up at him still scowling, with her arms crossed in front of her chest in a pout. "Who you?" she demanded quickly followed by a "Where dark go?" immortalmina Eclipse was glad the little one let go of his leg. It did rather hurt. "Oh, I'm Eclipse. Are you lost? It's raining and you should be home." He told the girl. Though, he had a feeling she didn't care. "The dark didn't go anywhere. This is just a light my son made." It wasn't that bright or impressive at it's small size. It was still mighty dark around there. Eclipse had been there long enough to take the light away. immortalmina Eclipse looked to where she was pointing. "You live in there?" He didn't say anything. All he knew was it was not the place for Pae'il to go. Still, she wasn't his kid or anything. "Nice.""I have to say I don't. But when you are always in darkness you tend to feel that way." He said with a slight sadness in his voice. He longed to feel the sun on his face. "The sun is over rated. It's been when it's black."[chainedfaye] Lhiannan nodded. "Yes. Me wake up there. All by self. So home." She wondered why he didn't like the dark. She was almost always in the dark and she still liked it. "Fowest dark. Light bright, hurt eyes. Like dark better." She looked him over carefully, trying to understand why he didn't like they dark even when it followed him around everywhere. She wished it would follow her around. She noticed she had some funny markings on his chest and pointed to them. "What those?" immortalmina "Really? I fell to the isle by the beach. I live in a different forest now, though." Eclipse said with a smile. He looked down at his chest. "These? They are my tattoos. They are of eclipses, like my name. I'm Eclipse." He didn't know if he had asked her name or not. "Do you want to get out of the rain?" it wasn't bothering him, but she was only a toddler. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan examined the marks on his chest carefully before pointing to crimson marks on her own thigh, some half hidden by her diaper. "Me have some too. See?"
The toddler scrunched up her face as she tried to pronounce her name "Leah-han-nan" but the words sounded garbled to her so finally she just said "Lia."
Then she crawled over to the man's leg and tugged on it wanting to be picked up and nodded. "Me no like rain. Go home with you?"
immortalmina Eclipse smiled as he peered down at the toddler's leg. "Oh, I see. They are nice." He nodded and then reached down and picked her up with his free hand. He still could hold her with both, but he made sure the other didn't let go of the tied on staff. "Sure, it will be okay until the rain stops. A toddler shouldn't be out in the rain." He smiled and headed towards his home where he lived with his mate and two sons. [chainedfaye] Yes! This was exactly what she had wanted all along! Maybe he would even get food for her. She giggled happily, playing the part of a sweet little toddler, while her mind worked on it's plan. immortalmina Eclipse nodded and then walked to his forest home. He took the light away in every place he went leaving a slight darkness trail. It didn't last too long after he was gone. Soon he was at his home. He walked in and didn't see his mate or sons. "Okay, this is home. Though, the rain is stopping." He noticed, but then she might not be able to get home yet. Ah, you should have left her.[chainedfaye] Finally. Her hair was drenching wet and Lhiannan shook her head, flinging water everywhere as she attempted to rid herself of the excess water so it didn't drip down her back, sending that icky feeling down her spine.
Now what?
Well, she was still wet and cold. And hungry. She looked up at the male with the biggest, roundest, purple pleading eyes she could manage, and sweet said, "Tank you." She let moisture flood her eyes before she continued, snuggling up against "Me cold. N Hungy."
Ugh. She loathed herself for this act. But she had to do what she had to do. immortalmina Eclipse nodded. "Oh, uh yeah." He then went inside and sat the girl on a sofa. He male then headed into a room and came out with a towel. He placed that around her. "I'll make you something." What, he had no idea. Eclipse then went and looked in the kitchen. She's not your kid you know...[chainedfaye] Lhiannan took the towel, actually grateful for it. She loathed being wet. "Tanks" She dried herself off as best she could, still awkward in her toddler stage. Dragging it along behind her like a safety blanket, she followed him into the kitchen, plopping down on the floor to watch him. The darkness didn't bother her, she could see just fine, though everything was silvery and ethereal. She needed something to warm her up, she was still cold...she hoped she wasn't getting sick.
"Soup for Lia?" immortalmina Eclipse looked down at the toddler. She really didn't seem to mind his darkness. He shrugged. "Okay, soup it is. Hot chocolate too?" He had some he could make, he was chilly too. Eclipse made up the soup and poured it into a bowl. He placed it on the table and then found Apollo's high chair. "There you are."Eclipse then worked on the hot chocolate. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan belatedly noticed something about Eclipse as he brought her her soup. Something was different about his silvery form, almost as if there was another darker silver sliver in the core of him, hidden out of sight. A deeper darkness it felt like. She frowned. That couldn't be right could it? What was this strange fae hiding?
But the enticing aroma of the soup distracted her thoughts and she picked up a spoon to scoop up some of the soup, spilling half of it on the way to her mouth. So she wasn't a good eater yet, so what? What she did manage to get into her mouth certainly tasted good. Much better than the raw flesh of the wild creatures of Dragnid anyway. "Yummy" she unconsciously thought out loud. immortalmina Eclipse watched and chuckled. "Oh, here I don't know if you want it though." He held out a bib and then set it down. Even if she was a toddler he felt she wanted to be treated older and older kids did not wear bibs. Eclipse finished his hot chocolate and then sat down. "So, how are you now? Warm?" He asked her with a smile. It was completely dark now. That never bothered him as he had night vision, but he did hope she was okay. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan picked up what he set in front of her and examined it. What was this thing? She shrugged and used it to swipe up some of the soup she had spilled and continued eating. She was nice and warm now, and even her hair was drying some. This was much better. The toddler just nodded in response to his question, not stopping eating her soup. immortalmina "Good. I'm glad." Eclipse smiled as he used his free hand to drink his hot chocolate. "What are you doing? Bad enough you had a kid and adopted one, but now you are bringing them home?" Eclipse just ignored the voice. He was getting better at that. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan was pushing her bowl of soup away when she noticed that the inner sliver of darker light in the fae across from her seemed to darken momentarily. But just as suddenly as it darkened, it was gone, back to the regular light. Lhiannan scowled that she couldn't figure out what was going on. But once again her thoughts were interrupted, this time by a gigantic yawn. "Lia take nap now." Even evil pae needed their nap, she was only a toddler after all. And she had been crawling around looking for shelter since the storm evicted her from her home, no wonder she was tired. immortalmina Eclipse looked at the girl. "Oh, okay sure." He wasn't' sure if she wanted him to take her somewhere. Still, he went into the living room and put a pillow and blanket for her to sleep on. "I hope that is good. I don't think we have the cradle anymore."Eclipse went back into the kitchen and began to clean up. He did so carefully without messing with his staff holding hand. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan walked toddled over to the blanket and pillow, still clutching the towel she had been given to try herself off. She'd become rather attached to it honestly. The toddler had started to lay down but sat back up. She was tired yes, but she didn't exactly trust this Eclipse, not with the two simmering forms. Flinging the blanket away she crawled back over the kitchen, dragging her towel behind, and peeked around the corner, spying on the fae. immortalmina Eclipse was just cleaning up. He didn't' like leaving the kitchen all dirty. "Now, what should I tell Crononus?" He asked himself. What? I'm sure she'll want to adopt the foul thing. Apocalypse chuckled at that. He hated the adopting thing...seemed stupid then again he hated having kids at all. "Yeah, Yeah... Whatever you." He told the voice and then went back to cleaning. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan crawled out into the kitchen, leaving her spying spot behind. She glared up at Eclipse. "Who you talk to?" immortalmina Eclipse looked down on her. He thought she was sleeping. "Oh, ah...I thought you were sleeping." He chuckled and patted her head. "Oh, no one. Just myself. I do that sometimes.""Yourself...I am so not you!"[chainedfaye] She frowned. There it was again! That funny shimmer inside his shimmer. She glared up at him. "You glow weird." immortalmina Eclipse shrugged. He really wasn't sure what that meant. " Oh, yeah? I glow? My son glows. I only suck away light." He said with a nod. Glowing, he was far from that. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan did her best to explain to him through toddler talk. "You glowy..shimmer. Everybody shimmer. 'Cept you two shimmery-glowy things." She didn't normally talk this much but he had gotten her out of the rain. And fed her. immortalmina Eclipse looked at Lhiannan with a confused look. "Okay, that's nice." He really wasn't sure what she what it was she was going on about, but felt he should be nice. "I don't feel glowing."[chainedfaye] Lhiannan glared at him. She felt like he was lying to her, trying to keep something hidden. She huffed, turned back around, and headed back to the little bed he had made for her. She didn't really feel safe sleeping here but she was so tired she thought as she suppressed a yawn. He had taken her home and fed her though, if he wanted to hurt her he would have done it before right? Feeling a bit better about letting herself be so vulnerable in his presence, she laid down. immortalmina Eclipse watched as the toddler went back to bed. The adult fae followed her and sat in his chair. He figured he watch he for a bit to make sure she slept and then he would do whatever it was that he did when he was all alone. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan watched through heavy eyes as the adult followed her into the room. Great he was going to watch over her? What next, warm milk and a bedtime story? Slightly unnerved she decided to use the time to secretly watch him and try to figure out his secret. But it seemed she had a bit of a problem keeping her eyes open. They drooped lower and lower each time she shook herself awake until finally they closed once more and remained that way. Breathing slow and regular her final thought as she drifted off "perhaps a bedtime story might not be so bad after all...." immortalmina Eclipse hadn't noticed it was getting late. He yawned and then stood up. Should he got to his own room? He wondered if Crononus would wonder why there was a fae toddler on their sofa? Oh well. Eclipse headed upstairs and went to sleep. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan woke several hours lately. She sat up immediately, her surroundings unfamiliar and strange. As her memories came back to her she looked around for the male fae but didn't see him. Her stomach rumbled slightly and the toddler briefly contemplated trying to find him and demand her make her something to eat for breakfast but thought better of it. She had already pushed her luck staying in a stranger's house, eating his food, and even sleeping here. So instead she stood up, still a bit unsteady on her feet. As she stood, the small towel he had given her to dry off, fell to the floor and she regarded it thoughtfully. She had grown rather attached to it in these past few hours. Surely he wouldn't miss it...wait, what in the world was she thinking?? What did she care about whether he missed his stupid towel, he gave it to her and she was taking it! She bent down, picking it up and clutching it to her chest and she toddled to the door and outside. She had had enough - she was going home! immortalmina In the morning Eclipse went downstairs to find that the toddler was gone and so was the towel. He chuckled to the thought of her taking it. He hoped she made it back home well.

Late June[chainedfaye] Lhiannan was on her way back home. Now that the rain had stopped, the path was no longer blocked by the raging waters pouring out of the forest. The aura of the forest settled over her and she smiled. Aaah it was good to be home. Now to just find her well. She walked along quietly humming to herself, aware that beasties had their eyes on her as the made her way through the undergrowth. She wasn't worried. Many of the creatures her had tried to eat her before but none had ever succeeded. Somehow whenever they went to attack her, the moment they cam into contact with her, they suddenly collapsed. It was a mystery to her exactly why, but it made sense. Whatever had left her out her in this dangerous forest wouldn't leave her defenseless. Sometimes she even ate the little animals her razor sharp teeth pulling apart their raw flesh. They tasted quite horribly but luckily she didn't have the need to eat but occasionally. The euphoric feeling that came after they dropped dead of her touched filled her up. Her musings came to a halt as the path in front of her become muddy and swamp like. Not wanting to get even filthier, she changed her route, intending to go around it. As she headed deeper into the heart of the forest, strange new sounds began to assault her ears. What manner of beasts where these that made such strange noises. Her progress stopped and she stopped to listen to them. Still not afraid, only curious. To her left a bush rustled and she turned to look. "Hello?" she called out. It was quite annoying to stalked, it rather angered her. Seeing and hearing nothing more she took another few steps only to her the sounds again. She turned around, hands on her hips, eyes flaring with rage. "Come out here now." She stomped her foot in agitation. Guardian_Iris Off in the bushes to Lhiannan' right, there is a rustling noise. Not long after, a small two legged bird appears, blinking at her and tilting it's head to the side.
"Krrkt..." It hisses at her, before revealing that it is actually not a bird, but an amalgamation of a bird and a lizard. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan stared back at the bird like creature for several moments contemplating it. It didn't look like any bird she had ever met before, but then of course she'd never seen a half-bird half-lizard before. She thought it looked rather cute actually...perhaps it would make a good pet? "Here birdy birdy" she called to it. Guardian_Iris "Krrkkkt... Hissssk..." The cockatrice puffed up, lizard tail flicking about as it's cold beady eyes stared down Lihannan. It rushed her, hissing angrily as it's territory had been disturbed by an interloper, and it made to drive it from around it's lair. "Krrrkkt! Krrrrkt!" [chainedfaye] Lhiannan waited to for the creature as it rushed at her, danger glinting in her eyes. When it came close enough, she deftly grabbed it around the neck, just as she had done hundreds of other times to small creatures such as this. She squeezed, cutting off its air supply as she drained the energy out of its body and into her own. A shiver ran up her spine and she shuddered as its life force filled her, revitalizing her own form. She tossed the creature away, still alive but just barely. "Bad pet" she told it, as she walked away, a new strength in her step, more determined than ever to make it home to her well. Guardian_Iris "Kkkrrrt... Hssssk!" The Cockatrice stumbled back up onto it's feet, and charged again, jumping up and pecking the back of Lhiannan's head, as well as raking her with it's feet. It was angry now, very angry.
It had been molested in it's own nest, it did not like that at all. [chainedfaye] "Aaah!" Lhiannan cried out in surprise. She fought against it, flinging her arms out to protect her head, while trying to wildly beat it away. This beastie must be somehow different from all the rest of the beasties she had drained. It was the aura coming from the forest she bet, it was making all the beasties stronger. And meaner. "Bad pet!" Lhiannan screamed at it, still trying to beat it away. A few times she thought she had struck it hard enough, but the thing just kept attacking her. She was too little to fight back properly! With a growl, Lhiannan turned and started running away from it as fast as she could with her arms up covering her head.

Lhiannan and Trager Centers of Attention http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=10717165[chainedfaye]
The small child wandered alone through the darkness of the forest quietly, blending in with the shadows, hardly a trace of her passage left behind. She felt so empty. She had grown tired of the darkness of her well. And she was so hungry, like a thirst she couldn't quench. She would eat the small creatures, twisted by the evil of the forest, that caught themselves in her traps, but they never satisfied her. She needed something more. The darkness in her heart had faded with no one around to direct her hatred towards, in its place had settled a gray cloud of empty emotions. Perhaps that was why she was never able to get full - her own heart was empty. But she had no idea what she needed to fill the void within her.
After a time, Lhiannan Sidhe broke free of the forest, the sudden brightness blinding her. She squinted, attempting to shield her eyes, as she gazed around her. She was not used to the sun being so bright, so direct, always having been shielded from its rays by the foliage of the forest. She had no idea where she was, only having ventured out of her well this far once before, and not by her own choice. Looking to her left, she discovered the marsh that the torrent of rain washed her into last night and shuddered, remembering the feeling of muck clinging to her body. Lhiannan shook her head. There was no way she was going through place again.
She turned her focus forward. Grassland stretched out before her for a ways before transforming into the sand soil of a beach. 'A beach meant water of some type, perhaps a lake' the fae girl reasoned. And a lake meant fish. Perhaps she just needed to try some different food, maybe that would satiate her hunger. With this in mind she set off, headed to the lake, her wandering no longer directionless.
Before long, the soft grasses behind her feet turned into finely grained pebbles, the sand making a soft crunching sound as she traveled over it. The closer she came to the edge of the water the wetter the sand became, squishing up in between her toes. When the waves of water were just barely reaching her, Lhiannan sat down, pulling her legs up to chest and laying her head on her knees with a sigh. The girl had just realized she had a problem...the water...she didn't like the water, but to get any fish, she would have to get wet. Cringing, she remembered the last time that she had been drenched and the dark fae that had kindly taken her in. He was nice enough, but she didn't like him. She didn't like being with other people really. But maybe that was what she needed - contact. Maybe she was just lonely. Shaking her head slightly, no that couldn't be it could it? She wasn't sure - the world was still too new to her.
She sighed again and stayed sitting on the beach not yet quite willing to get wet.
Wolfs Heart Trager smirked as she walked on the path towards Dragnid Forest. Azure had always told her that she should never go to Dragnid forest because it was a dark place and that there were a lot of scary stories about it. Of course, if someone tells Trager no she's going to do it. She began skipping down the path, her curly brown hair bounced behind her. Trager stared at the tall and dark forest looming ever closer to her bright pink body. As much as she wanted to disobey Azure the forest looked so dark and scary. Trager stopped skipping, unsure to continue on towards the forest or to turn around. When Azure had told her stories she never really paid attention, something about... curses? Trager shivered, that didn't sound very fun.
She wondered where else she could go that might possibly be fun. Her child-sized body twirled around as she looked around her. A field, a lake with icky water, and wait... what was that? Trager spotted a pae lurking near the water, she hated water but she was also curious about what this other little pae was up to. Trager bounded down the path towards the lake, watching the black fae carefully. She wasn't one to make friendly introductions so she just stood there, wondering what the little pae would do. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan had just about worked up the courage to get into the water and look for some fish, when she felt eyes boring into her back. Looking around for the source, much to her dislike, she discovered another pae hovering nearby. She frowned and rose to her feet walking away from the pinkish blob before sitting back down on the sand. Maybe it would leave her alone now. Wolfs Heart Trager's eyes grew wide and her face turned into a frown. The pae had ignored her, she didn't remember anyone that ever ignored her. Trager could've sworn the pae had seen her. "What are you doing?" Trager asked her only because she was curious, not because she wanted to be nice. And the way she said it hadn't sounded very nice. Trager followed the black pae to the spot she had sat down on. She would be the last person to ever understand that the pae didn't want to talk to her or for her to even be around. Trager looked disgusted at the water, anywhere near water was way too close. Her eyes wandered over to Dragnid forest, suddenly the idea of curses didn't sound so bad next to the idea of water.
[chainedfaye] Lhiannan's frown turned into a scowl as she heard the girl say something and then follow her. Couldn't she see that she didn't want the girl around? If she told the girl to go away, she'd probably just stay even longer. And ignoring her didn't seem to work either. Lhiannan sighed again. She'd have to talk to her then. Impatiently, she turned to her and asked "Why are you following me?" Her voice was raspy from disuse. Having no one else to talk to, she normally didn't have a need to talk, to herself and the voices, but that didn't require a voice of her own. Wolfs Heart Trager shook her head. That silly little pae had not answered her question and she had asked it first. "I asked you a question first." Trager said in a very stuck up tone, as if the girl Lhiannan should answer it. "What are you doing?" Trager asked. Maybe the girl's ears were broken like Bneut's were. Trager decided not to answer the girls question, she probably wouldn't even answer it after the other girl did. She didn't need a reason to follow her. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan rolled her eyes. She was so not in the mood for this. She just wanted to be let alone. Was that so hard to understand?!?! Her stomach growled and she looked down at it in frustration. Fine, fine, she'd get in the water just give her a minute.
"It's none of your business what I'm doing. Now go away already!"
She started to walk off, headed closer to the head of the water when an idea struck her and she turned back to the annoying pink thing.
"Do you like fish?" Wolfs Heart Trager stared at Lhiannan, what was wrong with this girl? "Fine! I don't care. I just wanted to talk to you since you looked lonely. But if you want to be a loner... I don't care!" Trager yelled back at the girl. Her face was pouty and she was in disbelief that someone could be in such a wrong state of mind to talk to her that way. Trager did not follow the girl any closer to the water only because she didn't like the water. "I guess so, why do you care..." Trager murmured. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan blinked at her. Lonely? Was that what she felt? She tilted her head to the side in thought. She did feel empty. Was that what lonely felt like? The little girl wasn't sure. And what was a loner?
"Loner?" She repeated blankly, inside cursing herself for sounding curious.
Lhiannan walked back closer to her and away from the dreaded water. "Because I'm hungry. And there are probably fish in that lake. Together we could probably get lots. Are you hungry too?" She really just wanted the girl to go in and get some fish for her, but sometimes you had to compromise. She could be friendly if it meant getting what she wanted. Wolfs Heart Trager lifted her head and shook it from side to side to let her curls roll. She liked doing that it made her feel really pretty. Wow, this girl must've not ever talked to a lot of people if she didn't know what a loner was. "Yeah a loner. Someone who doesn't have any friends. Like you." Trager said hypocritically. She didn't have a whole lot of friends either, but she felt a way to convince Lhiannan to be friends with her was to make her think that she needed Trager so she wouldn't be a loner. Trager looked at the water and scowled, "You want me to get fish... in the lake... thats made of water..." Trager asked Lhia, she sounded scared. She didn't want to go into the water just to get fish or for any other reason. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan bristled. She had friends!! There was.... well... she stopped to think. There was that black fae she'd met...she supposed he'd be here friend if she wanted him to be..he seemed nice after all. See! She did have friends!
The little girl stuck her hands on her hips, ready to tell this pink thing off. "I do too have friends! You probably don't have any though!"
She rolled her eyes. "And yeah, lakes usually do have water." What, was she stupid? Wolfs Heart Trager looked at Lhia in disbelief. "Oh yeah?! Proove it." Trager snapped back in a stuborn tone as her hands flew to her hips also so that she was standing facing Lhia as if a mirror image, except they were opposite colors. "I have lots of friends. People actually like me. I know almost all the pae on the island." she bragged, it was an entire lie. She had 1 or 2 friends at the most, and chances were they were only her friends because they felt bad that she didn't have any. Trager shook her head, "I know that." Trager said. "That's exactly why I don't want to go in the lake. Cause its gots water." Trager stuck up her nose and whirled around to face away from the little black pae. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan rolled her eyes. "Yeah. Right. And I'm the princess of the island." She didn't have to prove anything to this annoying girl. She already knew she was better than her.
"Wait, you don't like the water? You're afraid of the water aren't you????" Lhia laughed. "How pathetic!! No wonder nobody likes you." She didn't like the water either, but the child wasn't about to disclose that. Let the girl think she was a loser. Wolfs Heart "If you were really the princess then you would already have known me so you're lying." Trager retorted. "Liar." Trager was still facing away from the girl, but she was talking loudly enough that it would be easy for her to be heard. Trager whirled around. "I'm not afraid of the water." Trager told the girl stubbornly and it was true, Trager wasn't afraid of it, she just didn't like the feel of it. "You're the one who's a loner. You're broken, thats why no one likes you." Trager told the other child. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan's hand moved to her face to cover her eyes. Guardians this girl really was stupid. "Of course I'm not the princess. That was sarcasm idiotic. Ever heard of it?" All her disgust disappeared though when she heard the girl's next words.
"Broken?" she repeated softly, sinking down to the sand. "Is that what's wrong with me?" She did feel broken too in a way. Maybe that's why she never felt full or satisfied or happy. What was wrong with her though. Could it be fixed? She fought back tears as she looked down at her hands. "Broken" the poor little creature lamented again before gazing out across the water, forgetting that there was another person here. Wolfs Heart Trager was kind of having fun now, fighting with this girl who seemed to be as equally proud of herself as Trager was. "I know you're not a princess. That's why I said what I said." Trager told her in a know-it-all voice. Trager looked at the girl sadly and her mouth moved from side to side. It looked like Trager had finally upset the girl and made her realize she wasn't as great as she thought she was. For some reason, it didn't feel as good as she thought it would. "If you really are broken... there's probably a way to be fixed." Trager told the girl sympathetically. "I could get some glue." [chainedfaye] "Glue?" Lhiannan questioned. "What's that?" She'd never heard of this glue before. She was a bit suspicious though. Why was this girl suddenly wanting to help her? Lhia didn't trust her at all. I twas probably some trick! But if she would really be able to help her get fixed.... Wolfs Heart Trager started, "Well whenever I break something..." which actually happened quite often. "My big brother, Azure, fixes it with glue. And then its not broken no more." Trager informed the other girl. Trager didn't mean it as a nasty trick to glue the girl together, but if she knew that it would do that she probably would've intended to do that. "You're broken, so I'll just get some glue and fix you." Trager said excitedly. [chainedfaye] Lhia glared over at her. "Well. Alright. I guess. " She didn't want to seem to be too eager or the other girl would get control of the situation. "Where do we find this glue stuff?" Wolfs Heart Trager smiled happily, it was going to be just like hearts and crafts except she was going to fix someone. How very... unselfish of her. "Okay, we have to go back to my home to get it. There is lots of glues there." Trager told Lhia as she began to bound up the path towards HQ. [chainedfaye] Lhia hesitated slightly when she saw the direction the girl was taking...that would led them straight back to THAT place. She didn't want to go back there. No way, last time was terrible enough.
But well maybe if it would fix her....she wanted to be better. To fill this void up inside her. Maybe...maybe it wouldn't be so bad this time? After a moments more hesitation she starting to move forward to follow the girl, though the impending sense of doom in her stomach wouldn't go away. Wolfs Heart Trager looked back, noticing the girl hadn't followed her right away. She paused and stamped her foot against the path. "Well hurry up. Don't you want to be fixed?" Trager said her voice full of agitation and bossiness. She waited for the girl to catch up, tapping her foot impatiently on the path. [chainedfaye] Lhia nodded slightly and hurried to catch up. She didn't want her new friend to leave her behind and not get her fixed. Wait....friend? She glanced over at the girl. Was that what she was? Did she really have a friend now? She was conflicted...she'd never had a friend before, she'd always depended on herself. Lhia wasn't weak. She didn't want to have to depend on anyone. But...she didn't know what was wrong with her. Or how to fix it. Maybe this glue stuff would help.
"Err.." the small girl started out hesitantly... "I'm Lhiannan. Lhiannan Sidhe." Wolfs Heart Trager looked back at Lhia and watched the girl as she caught up. "Took you long enough." Trager pouted as she continued on her merry down the path towards headquarters. "Gosh, you sure have a long name." That worried Trager a little bit, maybe this girl actually was a princess, a name like that sure sounded like a princess. But maybe... maybe she had just made up the name so that she'd still sound like a princess. She would do that too. "My name is Trager. Trager... Pinkglitterystarstuff." Trager frowned, surely she could've come up with a better name then that. [chainedfaye] Lhia turned to look at the girl and raised an eyebrow. "Pinkglitterystarstuff? And I thought my name was bad." She tried to stop it but couldn't help the snort that escaped from her mouth. Lhia looked over at the girl, hoping she hadn't hurt her feelings very much...she still wanted little miss Pinkglitterystarstyff to help her. Wolfs Heart Trager frowned, upset at herself for coming up with such a horrible name. "Yeah well... well I like my name. Its a name of royalty." Trager retorted. She crossed her arms over her chest taking great offense that Lhia had made fun of her name even if it wasn't her real name. [chainedfaye] Lhia crossed her arms over her chest too, the darker side of herself taking over. "Yeah, well, you sure have the attitude of royalty. All. Stuck. Up." She stomped ahead of Pinky, her own nose stuck up in the air, pigtails swaying behind her. Wolfs Heart "Yeah! Well so do you!" Trager shouted after the girl unaware that she had just admitted that Lhia really was royalty. Trager ran after the girl, she still had to fix this girl even if she was stuck up, and maybe she wouldn't be so stuck up after Trager fixed her. [chainedfaye] Lhiannan was storming along when she suddenly slid on a leaf laying mischievously in the path. She lost her balance and toppled backwards, right on top of the pink girl who had just managed to catch up with her. At the contact her entire body exploded with an overwhelming sensation. Emotions and energy all flowed into her. It was almost like when she hunted and killed small prey in her clearing so more much more full, so much more intense. She licked her lips, feeling full for the first time in ages, her thirst suddenly quenched. But at the same time, a burning pain began to rise up in her thigh and she cried out in pain
As her cry echoed, Lhia suddenly remembered she had fallen on the other pae and leaping to her feet began to run away without another word, silently crying. She was certain she'd killed the other little girl, how else would she feel all that if she hadn't? She hadn't liked the pink prissy princess that much, but she still didn't want her to be dead!! She headed back into the darkness of her forest, resigned to stay there forever so she wouldn't hurt anyone else.
