Up until what event have you managed to go through in the whole Flamberge search anyway? It's essential for you to have saved Shiba. Since the text I posted contained not the instructions for the actual Saving Shiba sidequest...
Be wary that the proceeding text would contain SPOILERS...
Well, in order to Save Shiba, have the party go to Aramis Spring after Chesedonia falls to the Qlipoth. There would be a scene there wherein you have to save Shiba from being tangled in roots. Just use Mieu Fire to burn the roots up and complete the sidequest. You would obtain a special item from finishing this sidequest.
Forward to the part of the game after you have cleared Mt. Zaleho twice. Or, in other words, after Anise betrays and rejoins the party. Go to Keterburg, to the area where there's this treasure stuck on a roof. You'll see Shiba and his dog, Peko, there. Approach them and a scene would trigger regarding an ice seed. The party would automatically be located to Mt. Zaleho in order to dispose of the ice seed. Once you regain control of your party, head on in to Mt. Zaleho. Go to the screen where you first saw the dragon (or, in other words, the screen where the dragon was spitting fire at you). The lava should have solidified there so the party could safely travel on it. Go to the previously inaccessible path in the mentioned area. Since this game has linear paths, you won't get lost.
After that, you'll be in a screen that is reminiscent of the passage ring area. An event would trigger wherein Mieu would obtain Mieu Fire 2. The game won't allow you to leave the screen without testing Mieu Fire 2 out so take the hint and test Mieu's new arte on the flamerods there. Once successfully lighting up a bridge courtesy of Mieu Fire 2, cross it and you would be in a screen where there is a treasure chest as well as a glowing item stuck on the ground. Approach the glowing item and press X. And there you go, you've just obtained Flamberge.
SPOILER END...
Hope that helps.

Tokunaga12 Both of them are, actually. Well they aren't plunged to the ground, you just see a ball of light on the ground.

Tokunaga12 Hm...really? I remember seeing Flamberge in the ground; not as a ball of light. As did I. May it be possible that we were both merely mistaken? Or might this simply be a difference in perception? heart

I remember seeing those sword... I found both of them on accident, while I was trying to get Mieu Fire 2 I found the Flamberge sword along the way, and when I was trying to get the Refined Flight Stone, I came across the Vorpal Sword. ^^; It was entirely unintentional, but I managed to get lucky.

...
I got the Vorpal Sword at the beginning of the game while randomly running around the world. xD
I also got both flightstone upgrades and the Demon's Seal using the map glitch. Which was sweet 'cause when the Albiore's flightstone got stolen, I could still fly anywhere. xD Plus I had an item that lets me gain x2 exp... even if it causes a bunch of ailments.
