"You weren't listening were you? My dad looks like a wolf, and I've got his colors so I was named after one too." Amaroq rolled his eyes with a derisive snort. "Yeah right! If you were really almost a stallion, you'd prove it instead of just talking." He reared up, pawing at the air proudly, almost daring Kiefer to do the same.

"I was listening, but you don't look anything like a wolf. You just look like a...a...stupid colt" he said, finally letting out a direct insult. It felt good.
"Why would I waste my time on you" he said angrily. It wasn't in Kiefer's nature to be mean...but he did get angry sometimes. He reared just like the other colt, whipping his tail pack and forth as he pawed at the air.

Amaroq couldn't help it. He laughed. His sister could come up with better insults! "That the best you can do? If you're trying to hurt my feelings you'll have to do better, mister Kiefer." He danced around the other colt, practically strutting. He was looking forward to a bit of a contest of strength, but he didn't want to strike the first blow. Nope, he was going to be able to tell his parents he'd just been defending himself.

Kiefer took a deep breath. Why was this mean colt laughing at him. "I think you are all talk and no go. You keep talking about how much stonger you are. I know I am stronger so I don't need to go bragging about it. I think you only talk because you think it makes you better" he said angrily. This colt was starting to get to him...but no, he wouldn't let him. He had to keep his temper under control.

"Oh?" Amaroq paused and tilted his head as if deep in thought. "Then...why are you the one getting angry?" He danced past again, carelessly giving the other colt a bit of a shove.

He felt like he was being pushed further and further into a coner. He had never met another that had been flat out mean to him before. Were all colts like this?
No...his papa had been a colt once, and he wasn't mean. And he was a colt, and he wasn't mean, right? He remembered when the fillys he met called him mean and such...maybe he was.
"I'm angry because stupid people make me angry." he growled, tightening his mucles. When he was pushed...he winced slightly. No, control your anger Kiefer. You want to be a stallion so badly, be mature, and control your anger.

"My dad doesn't get angry, and I don't either." Amaroq smirked. "'Cause if you don't keep your cool, you can't think. Isn't it getting it harder to think, hmm?" He flicked his tail as he strutted, thoroughly enjoying this. He was proving his superiority without even laying a hoof on his foe! "Stupid? Stupid is getting angry."

Kiefer felt his face get hot. His ears moved forward, this colt was really getting on his nerves. Kiefer wasn't the best at controlling himself, it just wasn't in his nature. So far he had been doing pretty well.
So much for that.
He ran forward at the colt, grabbed his tail with his teeth, and pulled with all his might. "I don't CARE about your STUPID dad, hopefully he isn't as annoying as you are!" he yelled after letting go of the yank.

"He isn't."
Ears flattened, eyes blazing yet icy cold, Amaroq struck back harshly at this colt that had dared try to best him. No sissy hair-pulling for this colt, no indeed. He lunged to ram into the other colt with his shoulder and chest, aiming to knock him down.

"Yes he is! My father, my father, my father. Don't you have anything to say about yourself he almost hissed as he was hit back. The little coltwas knocked back a few feet, but had done to much falling in his days to lose his footing that easily.
He ran back torwards to colt, hitting him on his hindquarters as hard as he could. Kiefer never imagined himself getting in a straight-up fight with another colt like this, but sometimes the just pushed him too far.

It was getting harder and harder for Amaroq to keep his anger hidden, to appear cool and brutal. "My family isn't something you could understand," he growled, grunting as he lowered his hindquarters to try to avoid getting knocked over. Using his bunched hindquarters to lunge again, his head snaked out to snap with short blunt teeth at the other colt's shoulder.

"I know ALL about familys" he said, finally. "I got nine aunts and uncles and six cousins!" he huffed, letting out a little whine as the other colt's teeth got into his skin. A bit of blood tricked down his shoulder.
Now how was he supost to explain this to mama?
The little colt whirled around, letting his hind legs kick at the other colt as hard as he could. He couldn't let the mean colt get away with treating him like this.

"And where are they now, huh? How many do you even know?" Amaroq hissed in pain as his rival's hind hooves drove into his chest, leaving him fighting for a breath. The bruises from this little encounter would be a reminder, to be sure. He fought still to decide if it would be a reminder of accomplishment, or humiliation. Two could play this game...he whirled as well, lashing out with hooves. "At least...I know all of mine by name!"

It was true, Kiefer hadn't met most of his family, but he would one day, he knew he would. But for now, the other colt was right. A large family was great, but only if you knew them all.
He got hit hards on his side. He stumbled sideways, his mucle there aching immediatly in pain. Oh man, mama was going to be SO angry and worried with him. Right now, he didn't care.
The little colt reared for a moment, and prepared to come down on the other. It would be a good blow if he made it, but it also left his underbelly open for attack if he didn't come down fast enough.

Good sense wasn't really residing in Amaroq's mind at the moment. Any sensible fighter would dodge the oncoming hooves and then strike, but the dark colt wasn't about to waste time. He lowered his head and charged underneath the hooves to attempt a headbutt, heedless of the near-certainty of the other colt coming down on top of him.
