The bull dropped his crayon onto the carpet as he lifted up the book, then turned it upside down while he squinted at the pages. Then, glancing briefly at Cielra, he turned it to hold it sideways. Bhel was not about to let Cielra have it, not until he figured out how he was supposed to hold the book so the stuff on the paper looked right.

"Please, you are a guest, and I could not ask you to do that," he told her. Could he not handle his own cups? Even if he dropped one, Kumoru had been trained so that using wind spells to catch small things was nearly a reflex to him. He would never break a dish.

Aylana shook her head before she chuckles "I don't mind helping honestly. Come on lighten up, I promise I won't break anything." taking a step close to him she holds her hands out. She wasn't the woman who would take no for an answer.

Mewing Cielra tilts her head watching Bhel for a moment. She was curious about the book, but then she was also curious as if she could color in it. Looking down at the ground she wrinkles her nose up mewing again. She wouldn't be able to climb down.

Bhel frowned a little as he heard Cielra meow. He glanced at the book in his hands, then at the kitten, then at the book again, before snapping the book shut and tossing it onto the seat of the leather armchair. The bull toddled over to Cielra and, putting his hands under her arms, worked to lift her up and set her on the carpet. He had a bit of trouble getting good leverage due to his height or lack thereof, and he might not have been lifting her in quite the most comfortable way, but Bhel nonetheless had surprising strength for a child of his age.

After a moment, Kumoru sighed in concession, and reached up into the cabinet to fetch two teacups which he then offered to Aylana. They were slightly different in exact design, but both looked as though they would hold the same amount of tea.

"Alright, here you go. You can just set them on the counter for the moment, I guess, and then you can pick out the teabag you want. I have a few kinds, but I really need to stock up again. You're welcome to whatever variety you want."

Giggling Cielra claps her small paws together s she looks up at Bhel. She didn't seem to be bother at all at how she was picked up. Eyeing the book she points at it then to Bhel. She wanted to see the book, afterall it might be something fun to play with.

Chuckling Aylana takes the cup before she looks over at Kumoru "You act like I'm about to bite you Kumo. I'm just a normal woman, I'm not that bad." with a wink she turns to look over the sort of tea. She was trying to decide which one she wanted to try.

The mage's tea selection consisted of some plain black, a few Earl Grey teabags, and about half a box of English Breakfast tea. After relinquishing the cups to Aylana, he arrayed the three boxes out on the counter and selected an Earl Grey for himself.

"Some of the wizards who raised me and taught me the magic that I know would warn me that normal women are perhaps some of the most dangerous creatures to normal men," he said, making special effort to keep his tone and expression deadpan.

Bhel, pleasantly satisfied with his newfound ability to move Cielra about the room on his own power, adjusted his hold on her a little and tried to carry her around like a large stuffed animal.

Aylana arches a brow before she shook her head "Well I was once a fa'e, that alone hardly makes me a full normal woman. And if I was honestly dangerous would you have allowed me into your home?" turning back she grabs a teabag of Earl Grey. "Beside the only reason wizard think woman our dangerous is because you can't read us. I went to a wizardary school when I was a teen." turning back to Kumoru she nods the shakes her head "I'm not bad Kumoru, I just figure we could learn about eachother."

Cielra giggles trying her hardest not to move, but as hyper as she was that was impossiable. Clapping her hand she points to the book trying to get her point across that she wanted to see the book.

"And I am hardly a normal man," the necromancer replied with a shrug as he dropped his teabag into one of the pair of mugs. He considered explaining to her the opinion held by some of his teachers - that women were distractions and dangerous to inexperienced magic-users. But Kumoru suspected that Aylana had distracted a fair number of men in her life, either inadvertantly or on purpose. And it would be a lie for Kumoru to say that he did not number among those men.

Besides, it really had nothing to do with teacups, so why bring it up? It would just sound rude, really, and the mage did not want to come off as sexist.

"What do you mean by learning about each other, though?" Kumoru inquired instead, to try to change the subject. He glanced briefly at Aylana, then studied the flame under the tea kettle.

Bhel walked once around the room then over to the chair with the book. Then he set Cielra down as carefully as he could on the big leather cushion, which was not necessarily all that careful. Still, he was just a toddler, and he at least made the effort.

Aylana chuckles shaking her head "No your not normal, because most men would be trying to make a pass at me by now. For once I'm glad I found a man who doesn't think I'm cute." leaning against the counter she thinks for a moment. How could she explain what she meant?

Clicking her tongue she looks at him "Well simple, just by talking, hanging out like we are now. I can't steal it from your brain anymore." with a wink she nudges him slightly "Beside I'll fully admit, your interesting Kumoru."

Kumoru laughed a little as well. "I'm 'interesting'?" He kept his eyes on the kettle as he spoke - if he watched it, it would never boil? "I've had a lot of people call me that, and they never seem to mean the same thing."

And he was thankful not for the first time that she could no longer pry into his thoughts. He did find her attractive, but damned if he was going to let himself do anything about it. Kumoru was a trained mage, and one who was studying necromancy on his own, at that. Certainly not the sort of man who needed to be looking for women for any reason.

"I can handle talking," he replied with a slight smile. "You Fa'e are quite interesting as well, and I'd like to be as prepared as possible for when the little one grows up."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 10:58 pm

Aylana chuckles shaking her head "Kumoru you will never be prepared, trust me on this. Riasing a chils you know as well as I do is hard. Now add to it a Fa'e who has to learn who they once were." watching her son and her adopted daughter she smiles alittle "But everything is worth it when you see them grow." looking back at him she nods "As far as interesting, I mean I could see myself hanging out with you." pushing from the counter she lifted her hands above her head.

Cielra mews sniffing at the book for a moment before she attempts to open it. Looking at the pages her face wrinkled up as she shook her head. Where were the pictures that she could color? Mewing she pushes the book close frowning. She could always just draw on the cover.

Bhel went to get his coloring book off of the floor. The big wizard-book was really boring, so Cielra was more than welcome to his coloring book if she wanted to play with that. He looked through the book for a picture he did not like quite as much, and then prodded the kitten with the edge of the book.

Him, unprepared? Kumoru never believed a word of it. He would just have to find out as much as he possibly could from the others, what they had been through in the past, and then he would be able to figure what Bhel would be in for. It would be the least he could do for the boy, making his life easier.

The necromancer shrugged slightly and turned back around to face Aylana. "Well, we are 'hanging out' now, are we not? You are certainly pleasant company. And like I said, I have no right to keep you from visiting Bhel."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 11:38 pm

Aylana just look at him for a moment before she shook her head. Turning she brush her fingers against his cheek "Yup hanging out, and I'm glad you won't stop me from seeing Bhel." walking away from him she leans against the door way watching the two younger kids. Kumoru was more of a puzzle then she was. That only made her more curious about him.

Cielra glance over at the coloring book mewing as she smiles to Bhel. Wrapping her tiny arms around his neck she hugs him before taking the book. She purrs as she looks the picture over, it look rather interesting to her. It had a bird on it as well as a airplane. Looking back up she mews at Bhel holding the coloring book out to him.

Kumoru knit his brows as Aylana touched his face, shivering ever so slightly. Then he followed the woman over to check on the kids as well... and immediately strode into the living room to rescue his spellbook.

"There, play with the dinosaur coloring book if you're going to use crayons," he told Bhel and Cielra as he lifted the leather-bound tome from his chair and clutched it to his chest. He could not see any crayon marks on it yet, fortunately.

Bhel grinned a little, even as Kumoru took the magic book away. He thought it was boring anyway. And he must be very cool, since Cielra had given him a hug, /and/ she liked his coloring book.

Feeling very satisfied, Bhel plopped down on the carpet and started coloring the picture on the facing page of the one he had offered Cielra.

Chuckling Aylana shaking her head as she moves towards Kumo. Looking the book over she arches a brow "A magic book I have never seen, and here I thought my family seen them all." looking up at him she bites her bottom lip alittle "I may not be a magical being anymore, but I still love those books. Think I might be able to take a look at the book?" she was hoping she be able to just because it was one more piece to know who Kumoru was.

Frowing Cielra stuck her small pink tongue out at Kumoru before she looks back down at the coloring book. Watching Bhel for a moment she mews before picking up a crayon herself. Copying Bhel she starts purring as she saw the color appear on the paper. So this was coloring? She would have to get one of these books and crayons.

"So far since coming to Gaia, I do not believe I have encountered any magic quite like I was taught back home. Granted, I have not really looked at too many books aside from what I brought with me, but still... I have to wonder how different my magic is from, say, yours."

He handed her the book, which was written in what looked a lot like
IPA. There were places where Kumoru had written notes in the margins, as well, but in those cases it was the handwriting that would make them difficult to read - in order to fit as much as possible in the available space, he had made his letters quite tiny, as well as narrow and close together.

Too busy now concentrating on his own artwork, Bhel did not pay the kitten much mind. He gave her an occasional glance, however, when he found himself in want of the crayon color she was using.

Frowning a little, he held his hand out to her, and glanced between her face and the crayon in her hand.
