"I've been travelling ever since I was born. Momma says something important's gonna happen sometime soon. Something about a meeting of rogues. I think they're forming a new Pride, and I think I'll be in it," Fenris said. "There's no sea, and very few fish in the water holes that are out there," he said, telling Cheza from where he had been. "I haven't seen the deserts, but Momma says she has, and she's seen the Pridelands too. I haven't though... I'd like to, someday. The grass is a lot drier out there too," He said. Fenris had the liberty, at least as of now, to meander where he pleased.

Wacheza listened, facinated by what Fenris was telling him. He never really dreamed about the outside world as being any different than what he had now. He just thought that it would be... pretty much the same thing.
"Wow... that sounds so... wierd." Wacheza said quietly, looking thoughtful again as he took in all the new information.

Fenris giggled at that. There were many similarities and many differences. However, while Fen was missing out on watching the waves roll in and hearing them crash against the shore, Cheza was missing looking over the grasslands from a small crest, and watching the wind make golden waves. Same thing, but just different enough to give a different feeling.
"Are you going to stay here forever?" He asked, wondering if the cub had plans. Fen was currently intending to travel when he grows up.

"Ah...I... well, I've thought about it as an idea. To travel around one day, but I don't know for sure." Wacheza said quietly, thinking about his family, "I love my family a lot, and my parents like being settled down. I don't know if I could just leave without them..." he was silent for a longer time after that, but then he spoke up again, "What is the last thing in the world you would ever want to do? On the list of every possible thing you could ever do, what's the last thing?"
He knew it was an off question, but he felt the strong desire to ask it suddenly, as though he had just come to some sort of conclusion in his brain.

"Be like my mother." He said bluntly and immediately. There was no doubt in his mind that he would be disgusted with himself if he turned out like her. "I don't hate her, but I don't want to live life like she does," he explained. There was something about her... He didn't know that the driving force behind her hatred to almost everything was a desire for power and revenge. "She's always mad, always. Even at people who she's just met! It's like she picks on them, and I don't understand why. She's nice to us though, my brothers and my father and I. Everyone else, she hates." He finished, contemplating once more why she was the way she was.

Wacheza nodded, listening and staring off into the distance, "I see... that's a good one. No one's ever said they don't want to be like their parents... but then, I guess we're all a little bit different than our parents at least." he smiled, looking back at Fenris, "If it helps, you're nothing like that. You seem really nice to me Fenris."
He did like Fenris, who he considered to be a new friend, "You don't seem to want to hurt anyone, and I don't... do you hate me?" Wacheza asked, tilting his head to the side.

Fenris sat and thought hard before he responded. There was no doubt in his mind that he didn't hate Wacheza; He seemed like a nice lion. Fen pondered about whether he'd ever hated anything quite yet. He closed his right eye as he thought, and came to his conclusion.
"I certainly don't hate you, Cheza. You seem a lot like me," he said. "I haven't hated anything yet in my life, and I hope I never will!" He said, opening his eye again. He was glad to have found a friend that didn't think him a complete oddball.

Wacheza smiled and nodded, "I hope that you never hate anyone either. I certainly don't think that I hate everyone. I kind of hope that we can be friends, if that's okay with you."
He did like Fenris, and Wacheza rarely saw the point of hating anyone. He knew that his brother didn't like anyone, but Wacheza had never really understood why anyone would choose to dislike anyone. He was at the very least interested in everyone he met. They all usually turned out to be neat.

Friends... Fenris always made them, but then his family moved on, forcing him to leave them over and over. He really didn't like the constant movement, but what he had to say never mattered.
As long as he didn't turn out like that, he'd be happy.
"I'd love to be friends!" He said enthusiastically, pulling himself from the mood he was in.

Wacheza smiled. Aside from his siblings and a few others, he didn't have many actual friends in the sea pride, and Zuri had left before he really got to know her. He liked Fenris though. Something about him just made Wacheza feel like he didn't have to go out of his way to do anything special.
They could just talk.
"I'm glad. You can never have too many friends." Wacheza said, thinking on all the people he had met. He wished that Fenris was staying... but rouges always seemed to move around.

"I agree," He said. He already felt he could trust Cheza more than anyone he knew, and they'd just met! Fenris would keep him in mind when travelling, so that he could come back some time soon. He never felt he could talk to someone so openly, mostly because nobody he grew up around was so loose with their words. He liked the feeling of comradery very much.
"However, mom might get mad at me if I'm away too long," Fenris said, thinking about the long trip back to get home. It'd be nearly sundown if he left now, and that would be on optimal running performance. "I'll come back sometime, ok? Til then, see ya Cheza!" Fen said cheerily, turning and heading off, hoping mom would take it easy on him.
