Turel tried to bite Melanie today.....I had to tell him off for doing so, regardless of the fact that he is new to our family. I feel like having to tell him off so early on might push him away from me. I do hope that this is not the case. He is indeed a beautiful creature, but this beauty is causing definate jealousy in Melanie & Zephon. Lantis is alright with the situation, as is Xu....but the other two are awfully jealous around him & clamour for my attention. I'm not sure what to do, other than try to balance everything out evenly. Even then though, it doesn't seem to be enough to please them all.

Turel hasn't tried to bite Mel today.....he's been behaving himself & sitting quietly in the playroom with the others, not doing anything mean at all. I wish the same were for Zephon & Melanie.....they've both been schemeing all morning. No doubt about how to get revenge on Turel. Turel is cosying up to me now, unaffected by yesterday's telling off. I may take Mel out in a while to go & see Alex. She does love her steed very much. Of course, Kain is loved by her also, but is far too big for Mel to ride. I will have to wait until she grow s a little.
Turel is quite attached to Korothiir now. Which is nice to see considering that the little Sarning has been without a tag along since he got here.
I shall keep an eye on them all for now. I do hope Turel doesnt try to bit anyone again...it left a rather nasty mark on Melanies arm...

Turel is being ingored now by Mel & Zephon. They have grown so aggitated with his prescence that they cannot stand to be in the same room! Turel has to eat seperately from the others. Hopefully the rivalries will dissolve a they all get older & wiser....but until then...I guess that I shall just have to keep an eye on them all.
I've found Turel likes taking walks down by Bass'ken lake. All the better. At least the young one likes to be outside. This could be a way to stir up some common ground between Mel, Xephon & him. I shall try later on in the week considering that the weather is lovely. I shall have to go out & get the young ones summer clothes. Turel might also need armbands & such, in case he gets the opportunity to swim. I also need to get Turel a few playthings... Ah, such is the role of an adoptive mother.

Turel has been very tired today, mainly because he slept badly last night due to the heat wave were having at the moment. Mel & Zeph were unsympathetic as usual, but Lantis was quite happy to sit & keep him company & shush him when I was too exhausted to do anything. Turel is well otherwise & is growing used to the family home & his new room, which I have painted dark green. It seems to be his favourite color. I shall try to take him out shopping soon, mayhap that wil encourage him & the others to talk a little.

An uneventful few days has passed. Turel met with Eph's Seth a few days ago & seemed to enjoy the company. He & Melanie have not been getting along well at all, the latter becoming more jealous of her brother by the day. Turel has been behaving himself & making plenty of childish noise. Xu took him out to her garden a short while ago to show him the flowers, but he tried to tear them up so she brought him back in. He likes to go out into the stables at least once a day to see Korothiir & pull faces as Kain....which Kain shouts at him for. Raziel throws insults at the behest of Melanie, whom he defends feircely. Alex is keeping quiet despite his hyper nature....
I hope that Mel & Turel do somehow manage to get along soon. I would hate to see the familiy divided...

Uneventful few days again. Though I did take all the family out for a walk around Bass'ken lake. Melanie flatly refused to speak with Lantis as he has been defending Turel & will speak with no one save Zephon.
On another note. I'm getting the feeling that my little Turel is trying to talk! He's making alot more noise now & trying to form words by himself. He must be very lucky to have so many people about him that speak coherently. So many good examples to follow! I will try & teach him mama tomorrow, as it is late now & Turel needs to get to sleep. I'm going to stay in his room tonight....it might help to ward off his nightmares....

Tis the 4th of July & today is a very special day indeed! Turel has spoken his very first word!
It was at breakfast this morning when he, Zephon, Melanie & Xu were seat down at the table eating. He looked up, looked over at his sister & called out her name! He said "Melanie"! As clear as my ears are yellow, which they are most assuredly! Now, Melanie's mouth dropped to the floor! She pointed at him & called me instantly.
"Mama!! Turel is calling my name Mama! What does he want from me!!" She cried, thinking he was doing it to be mean in some way. But he wasnt! I'm sure if it. Maybe he's trying to make up for his biting her & wants to be friends! A pity Melanie stormed up to her room & stayed there until dinner. She still thinks theres something not quite right with Turel...
But I dont see it at all. Turel is my lovely little boy & I am incredibly proud to know that his big sister's name was his first word. I'll tell you my heart is soaring right now. With his first word surely more will follow! I shall have to go out & bring back something special for him.

Turel said mama today!!! So he now reffers to me as his parent as the others do. Its a step in the right direction....even if he DID bite me this morning after being told that he couldn't play with my natkarian pendant.....
Mel seems to be loosing her interest in hating Turel & moving on to fussing of that pendant of mine. She's very excited about having a new sister about, though I'm not sure Turel is. I just hope he doesnt decide to make an enemy out of the infant when she too emerges. Maybe if I organise a few more playdates, turel will become more personable & less mean....I shall drop into HQ this weekend to see if anyone is about. I still need to get Turel checked for these nightmares of his. They seem to be intensifying....

Turel is behaving much better now that Mel is not on a crusade to hate him constantly. He is playing with Lantis & even Zephon is beggining to bear his prescence. I'm not sure what toys to get him as all those I have, he has ripped to shreds...
I shall try tin soldiers with him next...& if that fails I'll just get him a metal ball to play with. Something durable enough to withstand his roughness...
I should get another playdate for him soon. Maybe that will further the healing process & make a little gentleman of him!

Its been a long while since I've written in Turel's diary, but there is plenty to note down!
Turel has been on quite a few playdates this month, having met Ivy's Kayin & grown quite attached to him, Dragain's Ingina to whom he is also very pally. He met Seth again, though Turel was rather less inclined to be nice when set scowled at Ingina. He is ever so protective of her & Kayin now....even with the fuss he made when he first met Ingina. Turel proceeded to curl Kayin up in his wing when Kayin was hurt too...which I find amazing considering what a recluse Turel was.
Now, pretty much everything in the house is happy, harmonious & everyone seems to be getting along. Turel even gave & recieved gifts! Which is wonderful in my oppinion. The sooner he learns to share the better.
I'm going to get Turel up to HQ more so that he can play with the others more often. I dont want him feeling lonely & unable to see those that he likes. I'd rather he didn't become nasty towards the others again.

Things are going nicely at home right now. Turel is still having nightmares, but this seems to be normal for him, as if he's MEANT to have them.
Otherwise, Turel is a happy individual & behaves nicely around all those that come across him....of course, thats IF they dont cross him, Kayin or Ingina.
My little boy has met two other TORs, namely Storm & Lorelei, both of whom he was rather unsure of. I'm sure he'll brighten up soon & learn to be less distrustful of those outside of his little circle of friends.
Turel however is worrying for his sister Melanie, who has become very depressed over the past few weeks having seen not a soul since Sitka. She's also afraid that she's not grown up enough to do things..even though this sort of thing never bothered her before.

Things are taking a turn for the worst here at home. Turel's nightmares are becoming more & more violent by the day & he is afraid to go to sleep, barely able to move much of the time because of being so weak. I feed him to try & keep him pepped up, but it's just not working....
I'm so very worried about Turel...in fact I've let him worry me so much & take up all my time that the others are starting to grow resentful of him again..all of the save Melanie. Melanie is growing into a kind young girl & will not leave Turel's side for even a minute. The others are beggining to reject her.....
I'm going to have to take him into HQ & have him looked at soon....else something awful might happen & I'd never fogive myself...

Turel is maturing as a youngster fast & is developing a strong friendship with Kayin & Ingina. He has yet to see Kayin though, as Kayin has not bee about lately. But things are on the up ^^, even if his nightmares continue to worsen & plague his sleep. He gets so little sleep & yet manages to be polite & friendly all day...until he goes to sleep & the whole ordeal begins again.
He will be alright soon...I hope. Mel is growing closer to him as the days go by, keeping wtach on him & taking him into HQ when I cannot. She is growing into an upright & mature young miss indeed.
Turel needs some summer clothes so that I can take him out & not risk having him overheat. though his pale skin does make me worry that he will burn.

As per Syd's instruction, a special tassel was made for Turel to thank him for giving Kima such a pretty mask for winning the story contest. Annalee knew it fitting that she should honor Syd's request, and thus, she drove Kima up to his home and placed the box holding the tassel on his doorstep.
