********** Ephemeral panted as she pushed branch after branch out of her way on the path that led to her God's shrine. The heat was begining to get to her. Ankh followed closely behind her. "You know," he said, nudging Eph's back gently to get her attention, "You can get on my back. I would be happy to carry you the rest of the way..." Ephemeral took a good minute to think about the offer before answering. "No, Ankh, but thank you. I'm fine." She wipped the sweat off her brow with her fore arm as she stared up at the moon. Why such a hot night? She'd love nothing more than to take Ankh's offer, but she was trying her best to be less dependant on the people around her. As the shrine came into view, Eph smiled and stepped her pace up a notch. Work was never easy, but the day was finally almost over... Walking into the shrine was like walking into a small piece of heaven. The small, dark, damp, stone building seemed to rush all the refreshing cool air to Ephemeral as soon as she stepped through the doors. She took a deep breath of the new air before looking over her shoulder and giving a slight bow of her head to Ankh who knew it was time to wait outside until Eph's job was done. Eph smiled at the precious Machingal before turning her head back to be stared down by a very large stone statue. It's hard glare sent a shiver down her spine. She would never get used to the strange looking creature, kind god or not. Eyes widening slightly in surprise, Eph realized that she had forgotten herself, and quickly knelt down before the statue. Not giving her full respects to this god could be fatal, and she hoped that he hadn't noticed her daydreaming. "The goddess sends her love." She said in a clear voice. Her eyes fell to her hands. They were still bloody from the ritual she had to preform at the Goddess' shrine. Her teeth clenched at the thought of having to kill another harmless woodland demon, but it had to be done... After a moment of scilence she lifted her head to look up at the statue. Nothing changed. All was still. All was well. She let out a sigh of reliefe and got to her feet. It was time to go home. As she turned to walk out the doors, she noticed in the corner of her eye a bright, red glow. She turned to look at the statue again. Another cold shiver. This time worse than before. The eyes were glowing very brightly. 'No, please, don't make me run another errand. Don't make me kill another creature to feed your blood lust. I'm tired, and I need to go home!' She thought to herself. Her spirits lifted as the pedistal infront of the statue began to glow. This only happened when the caretaker of the shrines was awarded a gift! As the red light began to glow brighter, Ephemeral had to shield her eyes. This was pretty amazing. It had only ever happened to her once before, when she first became the caretaker, and that's when she recieved her wings. The glow faded quickly, almost as if it were sucked up by the pedistal, and Ephemeral heard a quiet babbling noise. She looked down to see a small infant asleep on the pedistal. "...What the crap..." What was going on? What kind of a gift was this? She had enough responsability as it was! Was the god actually giving her a child? She frowned and glowered down at the egyptian-esque baby. "Seth..." said a voice to her that sounded far off. It was the voice of the god, traped in his likeness of stone. Ephemeral wrinkled her nose at the infant. "Seth...huh? That's his name?" Not wanting to offend the god, she bent over and gently picked up the child, not wanting to wake him from his sleep for fear he would start crying. She was about to turn for the doors of the shrine when the small infant squirmed in her arms and babbled softly in his sleep. It was too cute...She couldn't help but smile, and it warmed her heart to him instantly, though not completely. She bowed her head to the god in thanks and headed out the doors. Her and Ankh would have to hurry home to wash the blood off of the infant that had come from Eph's hands. A child...a strange gift, but...a gift none the less. Maybe there was more of a purpose for recieving the child than what could be seen. Eph couldn't help but feel that maybe...the child was in need of help. On the way home, Eph explained to Ankh exactly what had happened, and her thoughts on the situation, and he returned his thoughts, some advice, and promises of help. Eph knew that this probably wouldn't be too easy, but it would certainly be an adventure. **********

********** Ephemeral walked up the many flights of stairs to Seth's room. She had bathed him and put him to bed as soon as she reached home the previous night, and it was now time to check on him. It was quite scary considering the boy had tried constantly to bite her fingers once he woke up. Perhaps because she was new to him. She pushed open the door and looked directly to the crib--yeah, that old thing Ankh had found in the attic--to see Seth curled up in the corner, sucking his thumb. Cute, though not trustworthy. Damned vicious baby. She walked over and leaned directly over the bars of the crib, and began stroking the infant's hair. It was so soft, despite it's disheveled appearance. Seth squirmed and murmured something. Eph's heart melted. She reached down and picked the infant up, cradling him against her chest. Please don't bite. Please don't bite. Seth opened his eyes and looked up at her. Everything was blurry. Who was holding him? What was going on? Where was he? The last thing he really remembered before last night was being at a great hight above the earth, and then...nothing. As his vision cleared up, he saw who it was that was holding him. Her. She had woken him from his peacful sleep and soaked down his poor feathers last night. Way unpleasant. He turned his head from her, looking away angerly. Ephemeral blinked. Was the infant actually making the conscious choice to ignore her? That wasn't possible. Perhaps he was just a little grumpy from sleep. Perhaps some food, or a walk outside would cheer him up, perhaps even warm him up to her--Not that she cared! She was no parent! Merely the child's caretaker. Maybe one day his rightful owners would come and take him away. With a heavy sigh Ephemeral carried the boy downstairs. "I'm going to take the kid out for a walk." She said to Ankh who was napping in the livingroom. The Machingal merely lifted his head and nodded before falling back into a light sleep. Ephemeral smiled and made sure her sneakers were snug on her feet before leaving the house. Outside, it was an amazingliy beautiful day. The sun was out, birds were chirpng, not a demon in sight, and it seemed that just one patch of shade infront of the door was a barrier between her and this world. She took a step out into the sun, this would be a storybook day--She had never seen a more beautiful day--but of course what else could ruin a moment like this but a small child? The instat Ephemeral stepped out into the sun, Seth began screaming and wraithing in her arms. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She shouted, holding the child out at arm's length. Her eyes widened as she watched the skin on Seth's left leg begin to burn, and the child's screams became much louder. She was frozen with fear for a short moment, but quickly whipped around and brought the child back inside. She ran to the bathroom and fiddled with the cold water tap, pluging the sink and gently setting the boy in it. It was a few moments before she realized that the boy had stopped screaming, or burning, but tears were still swelling up in his eyes, and he was giving her the meanest look she'd ever seen on an infant. Seth moved a hand across his burnt leg, flinching at the pain, and glared back at the girl who had just plundged him into a small sink of ice-cold water--Way unpleasant. What did you do to me? What did you do to me?! He asked in his mind. One moment he was perfectly fine, and then this strange lady just pickes him up, almost burns his leg off, and then tries to freeze him to death! As the pain in his leg went down, his anger managed to swell towards this lady regardless of her "help". He began to squirm in the sink, babbling angerly, pointing at her accusingly every moment. Ephemeral took a step back. "h-hey! What the hell..." Water was getting everywhere. Why this hissy-fit all of a sudden? Tears began to swell in her own eyes. What was she going to do? It didn't look like the boy wanted to be picked up, but she really didn't have much of a choice. She picked up the fussing boy, who kicked and threw his arms around and let out more angry babbles. Oh gods. What now? She couldn't just put him to bed like this! She still had to bandage up his leg! As she walked by Ankh still napping in the livingroom, the infant began to calm down, seemingly tranced by the Machingal. "...Hey. Ankh. Come here..."

Ankh lifted his head and gave a blank stare to Eph and the child. It took him a moment to take everything in. Eph and the child. Both of them wet. Both with red, puffy eyes, as if crying. Eph looking scared, confused. The child looking fascinated at him. What was wrong with the child's leg? He got to his feet and walked over to them, examining Seth's leg. "...What happened?" he asked, concern in his voice. Ephemeral's expression sadened further. "I'm not exactly sure. I took him outside and he began to burn up. It happened almost as soon as I stepped outside. Ankh...I don't get it. Why didn't he burn when we walked him home last night?" Ankh looked down at the small infant who was still staring at him as if he were a miracle. He thought for a long moment beore he looked back up at Eph. "Night. It must be because it was night time. I think that maybe the direct sunlight burns him." Ephemeral let out a small gasp. what a horrible way to live, especially for a poor infant. "But we won't worry about that for now. Let's just get his leg bandaged up." Ankh said sternly. Ephemeral nodded and walked back to the bathroom. Naturally, the child began his hissy-fit once again. Ephemeral made a mental note to keep the child with Ankh as often as possible. **********

********** Ephemeral lifted her head from the couch and looked around. She had finally gotten a good amount of sleep, what with Seth spending the day with Ankh. She squinted at the tv. Naruto was on. Again. Would she ever get tired of this anime?--She smiled as Neji entered the scene.--No. No she wouldn't. She got up off the couch and stretched herself out. She gave a high kick in the air.--her foot coming down with an enthusiastic BANG! "Yeah! Refreshed and ready!" She yelled to the black-haired man on the TV, smiling to herself. She looked up to the ceiling and instantly lost herself in thought. That's right. The other day something very strange had happened. One of the caretakers of a TOR had given her a locket. She was very happy about this!--until Ivy told her that it was alive. She said it would one day evolve into something more. This locket--whom the family has dubbed Qui--was left on the stand beside the couch when Eph went to sleep, but of course, in this house, why the hell would it be there now? Ephemeral let out a heavy sigh. Great. Just perfect. It figures that the locket can just get up and walk away. She thought to herself. She searched everywhere. Absolutly everywhere. No Qui. She looked above and below things. She looked under things she didn't even know she had! After a good half hour of searching, Ankh walked into the room, his blank expression almost cracking to show his curiosity. "What are you doing?" He questioned clamly. Ephemeral took a quick glance at him and then went back to looking. "Where is Seth?" She asked, ignoring his previous question. "I have put him to bed. He was acting rather abnormal. I came to the conclusion that he was tired." He paused and cleared his throat. "What are you doing?" He repeated. Ephemeral got to her feet, brushing herself off and giving a sigh. "I'm sorry Ankh. I'm just a little frustrated. I think I've lost Qui. I can't find it anywhere. I've looked all over the house and--" Just then, a ghost-like figure, not looking too unlike Ankh entered the room and stood next to the other Machingal. Ephemeral quickly bowed to him, remembering his proud disposition. "You havn't checked Seth's room, have you?" He stated, more than asked. Ephemeral blushed. It was kind of embarassing needing his help for this. And how did he always know these things? "No..." She said meekly, though this shy moment lasted for a very short time before her childish energy came back and she instantly raced past the two machingal and up the stairs to Seth's room. She bolted through the door to see Seth on his little couch, the locket in his hands. He gave Eph a menacing look, and seemed as though he were about to yell at her, until he saw Ankh who came in behind her. Everything about him calmed, and he seemed the innocent child that Eph wished he were. She walked up to him slowly, signaling for Ankh to stay where he was. She knelt down to the boy and reached a hand out to him. "...Seth, can I please have that locket?" Seth pulled the shiney blue thing to his chest, and it seemed for a moment that he wasn't going to give it back. Then he took one last look at it before handing it to the strange woman before him. He was getting kind of bored with it anyway... Ephemeral let out a sigh of reliefe and pulled the locket close to her chest. Thank goodness... It had not been lost. **********

********** Ephemeral Style Ephemeral walked into the TOR HQ with a mass of black cloth in her arms. She seemed to almost be sneaking over to the couch, trying her best not to make any noise.
Inside the black cloth stirred a sleeping seth, and the hood of the large black cloak slipped off, revealing his face.
Ephemeral sighed as she sat next to the two other guardians. "Hello Ko!" She said, as cheerfully as she could.
She had not yet met the other one. "My name is Eph. How about you?" she asked with a smile.
Seth stirred a little more. Kohenkyo Kohenkyo looked to Eph as she entered. "Hello there Eph." She smiled cheerfully, waving in greeting to her friend. Dragain "Hiya! I'm Dragain, and I think that you should know, this is Ingina." Dragain said, smiling. Ingina was glad that he still had the keychain she had gave him, but she could feel sadness in him. Ingina nodded and patted Turel on the shoulder and gave him a nod. Ingina seemed to say, "I miss him too. We'll meet up. Do cheer up okay?" Ephemeral Style Ephemeral Smiled down at the other infants and gave a small wave before turning her attention back to Dragain. "She's very pretty. And I see that Turel is coming along nicely." She said to Ko.
As Seth opened his eyes, he looked up to see his this strange lady holding him again, and he instantly began to squirm, letting out small grunts of complaining.
"Oh my..." Ephemeral quickly placed the small infant on the floor with the other two, slipping the cloak off of him to reveal him wearing toddler-sized black jeans. Nothing fancey, but he liked them. Ephemeral sighed as she looked down at Seth, who had now calmed down, but made it a point to ignore the other two infants. "Are you guys having problems with your kids?" She asked sadly, not taking her eyes off of Seth. Kohenkyo Kohenkyo shrugs to Eph & shakes her head. "I'm having no problems with him aside from his nightmares." She smiles appreciatively. "Is seth ok?" She asked.
Turel smiled to Ingina & nodded. He would cheer up for her sake. He knew she missed Kayin too & sulking wouldn't help one bit. He looked down to Seth & quirked an eyebrow. He recognised this one! He waved. Dragain "Thanks! I think that she'll grow up nicely..." Dragain said happily before continuing, "I think that Ingina is a dear. My opinion is that she sees me as her protector, because I rescued her... Pardon me, but why do you ask? Is there something wrong?" Ingina saw the new infant and made it a point to give him a friendly wave. She was delighted at the thought of making new friends. Ephemeral Style Seth looked to the other infants and saw the prety blonde one waved to her. He furrowed his brow at her and made it a point not to wave back. He simply stared at her angrily. He saw the other one out of the corner of his eye. He had met him before. What was his name again? Turel? Something like that.
Ephemeral let out another heavy sigh and rubbed at her tired eyes. "It's strange, but he seems very hostile towards me. I don't even think he knows me as his mother, not even a protector. "He's fine around Ankh though. He really loves that machingal. I'm not sure what to do about him. It's hard to take him anywhere...I thought that maybe if he met some other infants, he would warm up a little." Kohenkyo Turel saw the frown & flapped his wings in a protective manner. How dare he glower at Ingina like that! He had not glowered so when he had met him.... Turel did not understand....what was up with Seth?
"I'm sure if he gets used to company he'll warm up." Kohenkyo chimed in with her rather melodic voice.
Dragain Ingina was puzzled when the new infant glared at her. Now, she felt quite upset and angry as well. All she wanted was to be friends. She glared back, her blue eyes turning darker as her irritation grew. Dragain had never seen Ingina that irritated before. Is Seth making her feel that way? If so, Dragain wondered why. Seth looks cute enough... "What's wrong with Seth? Ingina seems pretty mad at him..." Dragain asked, her voice full of concern Ephemeral Style Seth smiled. He had managed to get under the girl's skin pretty fast. She seemed quite angry at him, then again, so did the familiar infant.
He watched as Turel--yes, he was sure that was his name now--flapped his wings at him. Hmmm...so he wasnted Seth to be nice? Fine. He'd be nice. He rather admired the other boy, so he mgiht as well try to keep him as an ally.
He crawled a little closer to Ingina and offered her his hand, a pout on his face. He looked to Turel as if to say "You'd better appreciate my efforts"
"I'm sorry Dragain." Eph said softly. "I'm not sure what's wrong with Seth. I really didn't think he'd upset anyone...but he seems to be alright now." She watched as Seth offered Ingina his hand. "Maybe this really is good for him..." Kohenkyo Turel gave him a look as if to say thank you. He settled down slightly when Seth offered his hand to Ingina. Turel sat back on his hands & let his wings relax.
Kohenkyo sighed. "I am sure that Seth will calm in time. Hatred surely cant last forever." Dragain Ingina closed her eyes. This infant, Seth, was rather happy when she got mad. And that look he had just given Turel. He wasn't sincere about being friends. Ingina smiled, and she flapped her wings. She'll be looking out for him... However, she will keep peace now. Ingina opened her eyes and shook Seth's hand quickly. Dragain smiled and shook her head slowly. "It's okay... I was also worried about Seth. Everything seems to be alright now." She said happily. Ephemeral Style Seth pouted. This was no fun! He resisted the urge to do something mischevious, but it just wasn't easy. He looked up at the clip in Ingina's hair as it caught his eye. It really was pretty. He was very much attracted to bright, pretty things. Maybe that's why he instantly decided to pick on Ingina. He looked her over a minute, the pout fading into a slight look of unhappiness. She wasn't so bad. He sighed a little as he pointed to the clip in her hair and let out a small babble, trying to tell her that it was very pretty, while at the same time trying to seem uncaring about it. He nodded to Turel afterwords, and stuck his tongue out at the other infant, remembering he had done it before.
Ephemeral smiled, but dared not say anything about the situation with the infants. It might upset Seth if he knew it was making her happy, and that just might ruin everything. She turned back tot he other two guardians. "yeah. I guess bringing him here was a good idea." She said quietly, with a relieved smile. Kohenkyo Turel did the same in return. He recalled Seth doing so before. He watched INgina & Seth converse on their own terms carefully but in a relaxed manner. He did not want to set either in edge.
Kohenkyo breathed a sigh of relief & nodded to Eph. "Definately a good idea." She agreed cheerfully. Dragain Ingina smiled. Maybe Seth isn't as bad as he seemed, maybe for the sticking out of tongues. That was really rude. Ingina pouted abit and stuck out her tongue back at Seth. The situation had changed. Seth was feeling a little peaceful, or to Ingina it seems like it. Maybe a gift would break the ice... She thought for a while before discarding the idea. She still don't trust him that much. Ephemeral Style [Ephemeral looked down at her watch. "Oh! I knew we didn't have very much time, but I didn't think it would go by so fast!"
Hearing these words, Seth knew he had to do something to leave Ingina and Turel in good terms. Why did he have to act so tough all the time? If he would have just been nice from the start, then he wouldn't have to rush so. He reached into his pocket and prduced a shiney black pen with gold designs all over it. Ankh had given it to him, because he loved shiney things. He hesitated a little before handing it to Ingina. It was almost an apologie, thought he couldn't help but try and seem uncaring still. He knew he had nothing for Turel, and it made him a little sad, but he had no time to apologise before his mum scooped him up. He decided not to wave as they walked out the front door.
Ephemeral turned back before closing the door and waved. "Thanks for the fun time, guys!" Dragain Dragain stood up and carried Ingina up. "I have to go now. It's late and I have to catch some sleep! Eph, Seth will grow to adore you... Trust me and don't eorry too much!" Ingina waved goodbye to everyone in the room, even Seth. She want to see Turel again real soon, and Kayin too. She'll work on Seth's friendship with her if she'll get the chance. The pen he gave her was still in her pocket. She love it, but still she don't trust him too much, just a little. Kohenkyo Kohenkyo waved goodbye to Ingina & Dragain, Turel doing likewise as they left. Turel then turned back to Seth & gave him a look as if to say that wasnt that bad now was it?
Kohenkyo settled back into her chair & relaxed. She was very tired indeed. **********

********** Lately, Ephemeral had come to realize that Seth had been much less hostile towards her. He still didn't seem to favor her, but she could now pick up the infant without him fussing, and he didn't cry when she was around him. This was probably because of his encounters with other infants. So it was a good idea after all. Or so it seemed. Ephemeral was still a little nervous about unleashing Seth onto the other TOR. Maybe he was also finally getting used to her, and coming to realize that she was the one that was going to take care of him for the rest of his life. Just maybe. Either way, Eph saw this as the perfect opportunity to do something like a mother would. She had never really done these things before, but there was no time like the present. She took a step out the door into the cool night air after making sure her shoes were snug on her feet. Seth, snuggled comfortably in her arms, looked up at her with a bit of a pout. Where were they going? He didn't remember asking to go anywhere. He glanced about. Ankh was nowhere in sight. So then, it was just him and this woman...just great. After some amount of time, Seth came to realize that they had just made their way to a giant body of water. How strange. Water...outside? He struggled to get down. He wanted to go and see what was going on. Ephemeral was a bit puzzled at first as to why Seth wanted down so eagerly. Then she realized that Seth had never been near a lake before. She hadn't even ever shown him the one just behind their own house!! Well, it was defenetly time Seth got aquainted with this sort of thing. It was a good thing she decided to walk him out to Bas'ken lake. She stepped to the edge of the water and gently lowered him down near it, still holding on to him. This is what a mother would do, right? Seth ignored the fact that the strange woman was still holding on to him and splashed his hands in the water. He instantly recoiled them. This wasn't like a bath at all. This water was cold. Very cold! Ephemeral gave a small giggle. "Yeah. This water is a little colder than you're used to, huh?" And with that, she set him down on the bank of the lake and stood up, stretching out a little. Seth looked up at the strange woman before turning his attention back to the water. This water was very different from the water at home. It sparkled with the moonlight. Oh, how he loved that. He slowly placed his hands back into the water, this time being weary of the fact that it was cold. His hands quickly got used to the temperature. This was nice. "Wa...Wa." Ephemeral glanced down at the boy. Had he just tried to say something? She watched as Seth yawned. Nope. Guess he was just getting tired... Seth felt himself being picked up off of the ground. Stupid woman...he wanted to stay. But without another thought, he instantly fell asleep. Ephemeral smiled as she began walking back home. She had to do this kind of thing more often. This kind of normal mother thing. It was pretty nice getting away from her duties. As for Seth, no questions about it, it was straight to bed when they got home. **********

Ephemeral ran around the house cleaning every nook and cranny she could find, and there were a LOT. She was expecting someone today, and she always waited till the last minute to clean. As opposed to her usual neat-freak disposition, around her own home she was quite lazy, usually letting Hawk or Ankh do the cleaning. Every time a guest came over was a lesson not learned. She was much to set in her lazy ways.
Anyway, about today, seeing as how she was doing motherly things, she decided it might be a good idea to have one of the ToR infants over to play with Seth, instead of taking him to the HQ. Letting another infant into his territory might humble him a little towards the others.
Seth sat on the couch watching something on the magical moving picture box about weird people that jumped around alot. The strange lady had called it Naruto. That was it, right? Yeah. Naruto. He switched from watching the weird people in the box to the even weirder lady that was running around as if she had lost a valuble treasure. She was acting stranger than usual. Was something going to happen? Something bad? Maybe someone was coming to take her away, so she was looking for a hiding place. He smiled as he mused on the thought of a giant monster coming through the door and taking her away. Amusing.

Dragain carried Ingina in her arms as she walked up to Style Manor's door. She knocked twice on the door and waited for someone to open the door. Rina peered at the door from behind Dragain and neighed softly and nervously.
Ingina knew who was behind that door. That boy, Seth. She had wanted to now him better was was kind of excited when Mama had told her about coming to his house. However, she thought otherwise when she neared his house. He was thinking of giant monsters...

Ephemeral popped up from behind the couch, clouds of dust following her. It even coxed a small giggle from Seth. "Ah. Think I'm funny looking, eh?" She asked, ruffling his hair as she passed him and ran to the front door in the next room. Seth smirked, as if to say "you bet I do."
Eph straightened her dorky glasses, combed her fingers through her hair and brushed the dust off of her shirt before opening the door. "Yos!" She greeted with a giant smile, moving out of the way and pulling the door back to welcome Dragain into her home.
Seth leaned over and peered through the opening to the next room to see some people and a weird little animal standing in the doorway. Ingina instantly caught his gaze. Well, it wasn't a giant monster, but it was close enough. He was going to have to put a lot of effort into making her trust him, and today wasn't one of those days where he felt like putting effort into anything.
He gave a sigh and leaned back into the couch. This was the doing of that strange lady...
Ephemeral bowed deeply to her visitors. "Welcome! Please, come in and make yourselves at home!" She said with a bit of a nervous laugh. She didn't entertain much, and she hoped this turned out well.

Dragain smiled and walked in, Rina followed closely behind. "Hiya Eph!" Dragain said and pointed to the shy Machingal, "Oh, and this is Rina... She insisted on following Ingina whereever she goes!"
Ingina caught sight of Seth and managed a little wave. Well, how dare Seth thinks that her Mama and her are giant monsters! She hid her irritation, determined to get down to the weird behavior of Seth. She had incresed the control of her mindreading thingy, and her first test will be on Seth.
"Hello Seth." Ingina chirped casually. She had his pen in her pocket, and had put on her pink hairclip just for this. He had better not spoil her day...

Ephemeral smiled down at the young Machingal. "Hello there Rina!" She squeaked. She was absolutly adorable! She looked back at Dragain. "Thank you so much for coming, and for bringing Ingina. I think this will be really good for Seth. And who knows, maybe Ankh will drop by. I know he's somewhere in the house, but he's probably busy right now. He'd probably love to meet Rina!
"Please, come this way!" She requested cheerfully, motioning them to follow her into the next room.
Seth peered through the opening once more to see Ingina wave to him. He gave a sigh. It was time to be strong and do what was needed. Besides, he didn't hate Ingina. She was very nice. He supposed it was just his attitude that caused him to be this way. He forced a little smile and waved back to the angelic girl.

Rina gave Ephemeral a friendly nudge and trotted back over to Dragain. Dragain nodded and followed Ephemeral. Dragain looked around, and said, "You have a very nice house! And I'm sure that Rina would love to meet Ankh." Rina heard her name and looked up, but caught a slight movement with her eyes. There was a boy waving to Ingina.
Ingina smiled fondly at Seth, glad that he had responded. Maybe he wasn't so bad afterall! She fluttered her wings and fingered her hair as they neared Seth.

"Please, take a seat." Ephemeral said politely to Dragain, motioning towards a large, comfortable red chair. "Would you like anything to eat, or drink?" she questioned, as any normal host might do.
Seth smiled up at Ingina and gave his own wings a bit of a flutter. Yeah, maybe this wouldn't be so bad afterall...

"Oh yes please!" Dragain said. Her mouth feels quite dry after walking all the walk to Ephemeral's house. "May Ingina have something to eat too?" Dragain placed Ingina beside Seth and took a seat as well. "Thanks Eph!"
Ingina took out the pen that Seth had given her and said, "Thanks for the pen. I like it lots!" She then kept the pen back and brought out a shiny pin, with a feather engraved on it. "Seth like my present?" She asked cheerfully as she held it out.

Ephemeral smiled, pushing her glasses up her nose before turning and heading for the kitchen
Seth smiled proudly as Ingina pulled out the pen he had given her. So then, it was a good gift after all, huh?
Seth was a little bit startled when Ingina handed him a shiney pin. She was actually giving him a gift? Aw hell. Who cared? It was shiney! He quickly snatched the pretty pin from Ingina and examined it closely. It was absolutly beautiful!
Wait...he was forgetting something. He looked to Ingina, and, with quite a bit of effort, managed to say "Thank...you." He remembered that he was trying to make a friend, so manners were a must, right?
Ephemeral walked into the room just in time to hear the boy speak. She set down a tray holding a pitcher of orange juice, some glasses, and a bowl of various, sliced fruits. "Wow. My little boy's first words were polite ones." She said, turning to Dragain. "And it seems to be thanks to your little girl." She giggled. She poured a glass of orange juice and handed it to Dragain. "Is this okay for you? We're a little low on food and drinks right now..."
