I am a Christian and I'm gay. I hide it at church though because my church says if you're gay, you go to hell. sad

There si nothing in the Bible about homosexuals. Christianity is about the path you have chosen and does not matter if you are old, young heterosexual or homosexual. I really doubt about christians who say homosexual people are bad or whathever evil. There is no difference, religion should not depend on sexual orientation. So, hell yes, of course they can be christians. wink

AspergersKitty I feel really sorry for you. These prejudices are made by people not by god or religion.

OK, then I am sorry, but where? And if it does, it does not change anything. Not for me.

1 Corinthians 6:9-20
9"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Sexual Immorality
12"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

I'm surprised you didn't mention Leviticus 18:22
"Thou shall not lay with mankind as you would with womankind for that is detestable"

Even though Christianity is more concerned with the acceptance and love of Christ than with the laws stated in the old testament.

People make so much mention of that passage yet they don't realize that is quite hypocritical due to the fact that most of the other laws in Leviticus get ignored.

OK, then I am sorry. I have an old Bible, where the word homosexuals is not and there is "graceless" instead. Anyway we can discuss if homosexuality is a sin, but not discuss if they can be christians, because there are many christians who act much worse than a majority of homosexuals. But thank you anyway.

Yes. Many religions are now tolerant of that lifestyle choice. Some aren't, and still have homosexual members. I know a lesbian Mormon.

It can be interpreted that my God said homosexuality is wrong, he also said that we are not the keepers of our brothers, & are not to judge. So I'm not a homosexual, & I don't look down on anyone that is. Are there homosexual Christians? Yes, & that should be left between them & God, their relationship with God & anyone else for that matter is none of our concern. We are to look only apon our own.

Personally, I believe that anyone can be Christian, and I don't care if homosexuality is a sin or not, it shouldn't prevent them from being accepted by other Christians. Besides, aren't we Christians supposed to be recognized by "our love?" I don't think shunning people exactly communicates love very well...But anyway, even if it's a sin, people can be murderers and still repent and be Christians, and murder's way worse than any sexual preference! (I'm not homosexual, but it really makes me mad when people mistreat other people simply because they choose to live differently.)

Yes, we are. There's actually a verse somewhere in the New Testament (NIV version) that says something to the effect of "refusing your love of someone" is in itself a sin. There's something around it saying that if you love someone and refuse to admit it, even to yourself, it's a sin. Doesn't say you must act on that love, but you must admit it exists.

Not to point a finger at you, but use this as an example, but this is where a lot of our Bible-thumper problems come from. "Well my Bible says...." Ya know?
