Releasing the Princes

Mechanical Bird
((Brig, we can cont this later in a new thread if you like <3!))

Later....

Muse was knocked out, dead asleep with her head on the top of her desk. She had created a pool of drool and sogged up atleast a dozen papers underneath her, papers that were originally 'adoption applications' and had since been turned into doodling paper. The 'secretary' as she were lost interest with her unimportant job about three hours ago.. nobody was coming. Nobody ever came.. and on the off chances that someone did come, they usually just turned right around and ran away as fast as they could. Might aswell sleep.

The door to the mansion slammed open, and Selior entered. The werewolf, although he currently looked normal enough, snorted with amusement as he caught sight of the sleeping mute woman. He had just been out for his 'early' run, as he only woke an hour or so ago although it was, by then, high noon. He walked up to her desk, his boots squishing with the sound of mud and contact with the tile floor. Leaning so that his face was infront of hers, he promptly yelled, "Sweet dreams, love?"

She jumped away, snapping her eyes open. Wiping drool off her face she glared at her companion and came to attention, eyes drifting lazily to the mansion's front door.

"Nobody?" Selior asked, flexing his large arms behind his back. Muse shook her head. Selior sighed, but shrugged a single shoulder and gave a half smile. "Someone will come eventually, just like always. Maybe now that I'm here your luck will change." He suggested, grinned, and made a comfortable seat of the woman's desk.

Wandering aimlessly made for a good habit when you couldn't sleep. Or... perhaps it wasn't so aimless when you knew that you were headed towards a place which might or might not have a story to tell. Eric didn't know, didn't really care... thus the reason he came knocking on a door at an ungodly hour of night. If rumors could be trusted-- which they often could not-- this place would have individuals who were awake anyway.

"Hello?" he called out, considering the door. Eric could've sworn he'd seen someone enter. Shivering slightly and wishing he'd worn more than his traditional black turtleneck in the still chilly night, he waited, hoping for an answer.

Mechanical Bird
While Muse seemed surprised at the sudden knock, Selior nodded as if it was expected.

"And what did I tell you?" He asked smugly, smirking he slid off the desk and walked tword the large, heavy door.

Muse rolled her eyes, but smirked to herself none the less. Leaning into her chair she watched curiously as Selior pulled open the door.

"Hello." He said smoothly, turning his head to the side and looking the unfammiliar man up and down. "Who are you?" He asked in the same, even tone before stepping back a ways as if making room for the other man to come in should he choose it. To further the thought, Muse promptly stood from behind her desk and beckoned for him to come inside.

draconianraven
"Eric Spencer," he introduced himself as he moved inside, a touch cautiously. It wasn't that he thought that he'd be harmed here-- it was just that he wasn't sure what would happen if he entered someone else's home. On Gaia, you could never be too careful. "I apologize for the intrusion," he murmured, vibrant green eyes darting about.

A quaint place to be sure, filled with the scent of a thousand tales. He'd come to a place he could learn from, definitely. Tonight wouldn't be another wasted night, Eric sensed, and his mind whirled with anticipation.

Mechanical Bird
"I see." Selior said, closing the door shut with a slam once the other one was inside. "I'm Selior. That's Muse. .. so. Why are you here?" He asked, crossing his arms. A second later that smirk returned, etching it's way across his face slowly. "Ah, let me guess.. the ad in the newspaper? Here to adopt a little 'kid'?" He asked curiously.

Whiping her face off one more time, Muse shuffled through the papers on her desk once more to find a dry application sheet before hurrying over to Spencer. She moved to hand him the paper with a reassuring smile.

"She can't talk." Selior quickly explained, with a passive wave in Muse's direction. Muse nodded in agreement, pursed her lips and looked at the cieling in an expression that came off with a very 'oh well!' feel.

draconianraven
"Something like that," Eric smiled slightly, taking the form. "Thank you," he murmured, considering it. "I've... recently gotten to the point in my life where it seems prudent to take the plunge into parenthood. Most of the other Gaians my age have kids, so..." he laughed a little, wondering why he was rambling.

"You two run this place then?" he asked after a moment, pulling out a pen to fill in the required information.

Mechanical Bird
"Uh huh." Selior smirked, nodding at the man as he began his would-be ramble. "Guess it's time, then, hm? About how old were you thinking to adopt? Nevermind that the form says babies, we've got uh. Older kids that need homes, too." He said, with an indecisive looking nod of his head.

Muse shook her head at the other two a moment before turning and walkign twords a back, colorfully decorated doorway. She made a come motion for the other two.

"Come on, fill it out as we go. Yeah, sort of. This is my mansion, I own it. Muse here helps with the. uh. Kids. That and she's pretty and can't talk, so I figure she's the perfect woman." He said with a snort, walking after the other. "Come on!" He said again.

The form had rather curious questions. Things you might suspect, aswell, like if you had a prision record, your net worth.. but also things like 'whats your blood type?' and 'how pain tolerant are you?'

The doorway in question lead to further curiousities. It was so very colorful compared to the gothic nature of the rest of the mansion. Still, the pathway was rather narrow and seemed to lead down into a descending stairwell.

draconianraven
Following, Eric considered the question. "Older, perhaps. I'm not sure I'm all that ready to care for a baby just yet, though I might be on my way to one later." That was cryptic enough, wasn't it? And yet it was enough information. It would be... nice. To have others around the house who could at least take care of themselves, right?

Mechanical Bird
The descent was long, winding and tword the end.. rather creepy. Muse and Selior remained silent (obviously, Muse did), only glancing at one another every now and then. Their glances told of secrets, certainly.

And finally they were in the playhouse. All of a sudden they were there, standing in the glorious, bright room. "Here we are.. Now Muse, go help him pick out a mask and we can get this show on the road." Selior said, sighing happily he moved to take a seat in the front row of the audience.

Muse turned quickly, went to take Eric by the hand and lead him into the backroom with all the masks. Overwhelmed, yet? Now pick one! Perhaps that pretty black and white one with the feathery thing up top, hm?

draconianraven
The playhouse took his breath away, even without the glory of the show happening. Eric found himself amazed, and perhaps rightly so. He hadn't been in a playhouse for quite some time, and he missed the glory of it.

And the masks! How gorgeous and glorious and... wonderful. Staring at them, Eric ran his fingers along the black mask, teasing the feathered edge. "So what happens after I pick one?"

Mechanical Bird
At that Muse only grinned. She stared at the mask he had chosen, arching an eyebrow curiously for the sense she remembered getting from it. Two? Coulden't be.

She walked onto the stage room, motioning for the man to follow and pointing at a pedestal in the center of the stage.

"Well, the .. child comes. Put the mask you want on the stage and the.. er, selected kid will walk out. Go ahead, just do it already!"

And of course, upon his placement of the mask upon pedestal.. the swan twins would appear, standing there in the middle of whatever they had been doing in whatever far away worlds they had come from.

draconianraven
If there were one thing he could do, it was follow instructions. Thus, Eric went and placed the mask on the pedestal, wondering what in the world he'd be able to do. Then again, stranger things had happened-- this was Gaia, after all.

The pedestal began to shake, the mask thrown to the ground, splitting in two, though it didn't appear to be broken, and Eric shocked into taking a step back. What was happening? He wasn't used to this, being a part of the stories as opposed to being the observer. The observer he could handle, but this? This he wasn't used to at all... this he had no idea how to react to.

The mask hadn't split as Eric assumed. It, in fact, had created two where one mask had stood.

Hector stared at the scene before him-- certainly not the palace he'd been at moments ago. The glorious, shimmering swan kingdom replaced by this... this place. Kohl-darkened golden eyes surveyed the individuals from behind the mask. Well, well, well. Who were these? More people who'd come to scoff at the ruin that had become their land? "And who are you, fair travelers?"

And where was he?!

Strangely (or perhaps not!), Aimé didn't find himself particularly surprised by the shift in the scenery. He'd seen too much change to care much about that. But he appreciated names for what he could see and sense. "And perhaps you could honor us with the name of this location?" he asked in a voice soft and melodic like the softness of springtime.

Perhaps he'd then too learn the name of these strangers-- including the one who'd spoken before him.

Mechanical Bird
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Selior blankly said, the look on his face unamused and if anything disturbed. "What are they wearing?" He asked, nobody in particular and more so to himself.

A moment later he sighed, shrugged a shoulder and cocked a crooked grin in Eric's direction. "Congratulations. You've just given birth to two bouncing baby boys." He said, then happily noting, "Glad these two aren't gonna be living in my mansion, Diarmad's enough with his 'princely' expectations, but atleast he doesn't wear all white." No, he didn't know they were princes, obviously. There were just alot of princes in the mansion.. but who could wonder? These were characters based on plays, and all plays just have to have someone of importance to make people care, right? Ah... Selior totally didn't care.

"You're in my mansion." He further elaborated, speaking as though his continued attention was a great gift.

Muse would have squealed had she had a voice, so instead her hands clasped onto each other and turned red and white at the knuckles for her squeezing so hard. Grinning at Eric as though something truly marvelous had just happened to him and she was somewhat jealous, she scampered over to the new characters on the stage and went to give them both hugs, starting with Aime. Personal space was hardly an obsticale on her part, and this was a sort of ritual with her and the new characters anyway.

Hey, somebody needed to counteract Selior.

draconianraven
...stranger things had happened on Gaia. Stranger things had happened on Gaia. Stranger things had happened on Gaia. That was the key. Remember that, and all will be well. Eric took a deep breath and nodded before taking another step back as Muse proceeded to hug the boys.

What was going on?

Aimé blinked, unused to being held in such a tight embrace. "Ah-- Madam," he murmured, surprised into saying something. He didn't mind being held, it was just... shocking. Well, it was good to know where they were, at least, a place which had a name. Or if not a name, something of a place.

And yet, how had they gotten here? So many questions flew to the boy's head, making him feel fainter than usual. Alas, to be caught in this strange place without word or understanding of what had happened, what came into being...

"You have yet to answer my question, my Lord," Hector glared at Selior, ignoring Muse's hug. "Who are you?"

Mechanical Bird
Muse had grinned at Aime, proud of the surprise for one reason or another. Of course, Hector didn't respond at all.. how annoying. But no matter.

She grinned once more at Eric and then jumped off the stage, swinging around so that she was standing to the left of Selior. She then waved at the other three still on the stage, enthusiastic as ever.

Selior shook his head, "Oh ho! With that attitude as IF I'm going to awnser you!" He began, crossing his arms. He glared up at Hector in a very challenging sort of way, but something very immature at the same time. Like a dog marking a tree, really.

Either way, Muse decided that she needed someone to be nice to them in a vocal sense, so she nudged Selior's side with her elbow. He gave an inflicted moan and sighed heavily, "Oh.. Fine. I'm Selior." He said, speaking like a kid being forced to appolagize by a parent. "Dopey here is Muse.. Anything else you would to know, oh grand one?" He asked, mockingly, unfriendly, annoyed.

But atleast Muse was back to smiling happy like.

draconianraven
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir Selior, and you as well, Lady Muse," Aimé smiled, giving each a deep bow. "I am Prince Aimé Cygnus. And you, good sirs?" he glanced delicately at Eric and Hector, not wanting to cause any wrinkles in the way this worked out.

...well, at least one was well-mannered. And these... Princes? were his? Eric wasn't sure if he was quite ready for the responsibility of taking care of princes. Were they like ordinary folk, only royal? What made them different?

Idly, Eric found himself reminded of an old tune from a musical he hadn't seen in years.

Ah, but he'd been asked a question! "I'm... Eric. Eric Spencer. I..." How was he going to get them to come home with him? "I'd like to extend the hospitality of my humble home to your Highnesses, if you have no other place where to take your leisure." Was that formal enough? Had that made sense?

Considering the one who'd just spoken, ignoring the quiet youth at his side for a moment, Hector nodded, taking note of the fact that this 'Eric' seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at that. "Very well then. Provided your home is suitable for a man of my rank, I will accept." It appeared the pale, vapid youth already had, as he seemed to be slipping towards Eric.

"My name is Hector, Prince of the divine kingdom of Cygnus."

But that was his kingdom... what was happening? Aimé would have to inquire later though, for it seemed at the moment, everything moved too quickly. He felt faint, grasping Eric's shoulder, needing the support.

So they were coming home with him then-- oh dear. The young one appeared to be sick... that couldn't be a good sign. Not at all...

Eric smiled wanly at the two before turning his eyes back to Muse and Selior. "Ah... well then. By your leave, I'll escort the Princes to my home?" He still had some qualms about this arrangement, as he'd only come for the stories, but... could he refuse after having offered?

Mechanical Bird
Selior snorted, "Uh huh." He began, pulling on Muse's arm posessively. "Go ahead. Don't come back. Have nice lives, meet lots of nice wom-.." He paused, glanced at Aime with a distracted and disturbed look on his face, "Or men, whatever your thing is.. But whatever. You aren't any of my problems anymore." He seemed happy.

Yes, quite happy. Really, if he had it his way, half the people currently living in his mansion woulden't be there in the first place. But these two had somewhere to go, and that was one 'free mask' out of the storage room.

Muse, however, looked quite unhappy. She began violently shaking her head in Eric's direction, eventually managing to topple over to him in a hurry. She kept mouthing "Come back!" but it would be a wonder if anyone actually got that. Hopefully, between her smiles and waves and general beckoning gestures they would get some sort of hint.

And if all else failed, and the princes and their Eric rode off into the moonlight thinking they were never needed back.. hopefully the curiousity would get them. After all, the mansion was their new birthing place, and it would seem likely they would eventually venture back when they had questions.

...Or Selior hunted them down for questions of his own~

draconianraven
At how upset Muse seemed, Aimé gave her a warm smile in an attempt to make her feel better. She seemed to want them to return to this place? Perhaps because this was, in part, her domain, and she wished to see them once again? And yet, the wolfish man seemed so set on them not returning. Such a problem...

Hector couldn't have cared less what she was mouthing. His intention stood fast at leaving, discovering what happened to his kingdom, and focusing on the future. This place didn't matter much to him. Thus, he felt more inclined to force Eric out the door and on their way, but there was also the pale stranger who was faint and thus couldn't be manhandled in quite the same way...

Giving Muse a slight smile, Eric handed her one of his cards. "If you need to contact us, that's my address," he explained before turning his gaze to Selior, "There's also a phone number, if you would rather use that.

"Thank you for this... opportunity," he finally decided on the word, giving Selior then Muse a slight bow before leading Aimé and Hector from the mansion and towards his home. This... was going to get messy.
