RuiZhi grimaced. Oh yeah, he was going to be hurting. He looked down as his leg, willing it to cooperate. With a deep breath, he searched inwardly for his balance, preparing his body. Slowly, he lifted and extend his leg as his brother had instructed him.
Wrong foot position, he noted, putting his leg down and counting to ten. His mind rapidly went over the points he had marked before, feeling the pull in his back and the flex in his leg. He kicked again. Too high, he critisized, counting to ten again. Another kick. Decent, but not good enough...almost lost my balance.
One thing no one had to worry about was RuiZhi's discipline; he was his own hardest judge and repremand, wanting no less than the best he could do. He did his reps, feeling the pull of muscles, ignoring the protest in his legs. It would hurt, but RuiZhi found that there was precious little he wanted that wasn't going to have a consequence of some sort. He simply accepted this as part of it.

Wei didn't fail to notice the wince or the determination in Rui's eyes. So far he never had to really reprimand RuiZhi when came to his own work. Once RuiZhi finished, Wei set to wrok of massaging the younger's leg a bit. He rolled his eyes at the various gasps and aws and other sorts of noises people made at his action. They didn't have to understand. ""

RuiZhi gave the gawkers and gaspers a look he rarely ever used: one of utter disgust and annoyance. It was brief, but it was there. He made a soft, "Harumph," before simply letting his leg be worked on. It felt great, and he couldn't care less if anyone else was jealous. The brothers understood each other.
He shifted his weight onto his right leg, his brow furrowing just a touch. It felt weak, but he wasn't going to let that stop him. Turning his brown eyes onto his older brother, he asked, "" RuiZhi offered an apologetic smile. He didn't usually like to ask for help, but it was necessary to do this properly and not hurt himself.

"" Wei finished with the rub down. He took other foot in his palm, his other hand wrapped firmly around the ankle. Slowly, he lifted, the muscles beneath that skin straining. Though Rui could memorize each feeling, Wei was always more flexible. He held that leg at that angle for a few moments before slowly easing it out as he did with the other. He held that for a bit. He'd have to teach RuiZhi other stretches for this.

RuiZhi could feel the complaint of his back muscles as his leg was moved. Even so, he tightened them, feeling the point of pain and where his leg was in relation to it. His knee felt a little stiff from supporting the other kicks, but he figured this would loosen it out. He gave a curt nod to Weiyuan. ""
The boy started his kicks, almost falling over the first time. He hadn't thought his leg was so weak, but he had just gone from being relatively still in classes to stiff-jointed, fast motions. Be mindful of your limits, he warned himself, using other muscles to compensate for his strained ones. Surely, he wasn't so weak, just underdeveloped. He kicked again, almost exactly as he wanted to. Put his leg down, counting to ten; and so he repeated his kicks and self-scrutiny.
On his second to last one, he felt his balance shift in his right leg. Before he could lower his leg and reset himself, his balance was lost and his right leg collapsed underneath him, causing him to fall on it at an awkward angle. He fell to the ground with a surprised gasp, mindful not to jar his arms. RuiZhi sat on the ground for a moment in a daze, embarrassment, disappointment and pain crossing his features until his face softened into a sheepish smile.
He pulled himself up, almost fell again, then stood. "" he grinned, tapping his right leg with a slight wince, "" It was better than thinking he was that weak!

Weiyuan moved quickly. His hands flew over his brother's leg, checking for anything wrong. "" He checked the joints mostly, feeling that everything was were it should be. The elder moved the leg, bending it a bit and turning the foot his gazes locked on RuiZhi for any signs of pain. "" He moved back up, touching their foreheads together just as he'd done before. "" That was his hardest lesson when he was learning.

His face only tightened a little as his fore-leg was touched; it was probably bruised, but nothing seemed broken. RuiZhi sighed, looking into his brother's eyes with a sullen expression. "" he murmured, placing a hand on Weiyuan's bare shoulder, "" He was still learning that the hard way. It was difficult to find one's limit and try to push past it, especially when something like this made him unable to even try. He tried to keep it in, but he found himself saying, ""

Weiyuan sighed, sitting next to his brother. He layed the younger's head upon his shoulder. The contact was good for their relationship. "" He did his best to comfort his brother, forgetting about everyone else. It was all about them.

RuiZhi blushed a little, patting his brother's leg as he sat next to him. "" he smiled up at Weiyuan from the older boy's shoulder. "" He wanted to do it for himself, for his goals, but he wanted to make Weiyuan proud. That, and he was enjoying being with his brother again, free of his heavy thoughts from before. His leg ached a little, but that was the only dull spot in being able to just sit and talk with Wei again. "" RuiZhi momentarily allowed himself to dream of being able to perform the jabs and kicks effortlessly, a master even though he was a doctor.

Wei put an arm around Rui, knowing he couldn't convince him otherwise. But he would be there to help no matter what. He sighed, though the other was right. He couldn't flatter he way. Wei looked up into a sky, his gaze becoming thoughtful. "" He hadn't told Rui why he had gotten into martial arts before now.

Weiyuan had always told RuiZhi about himself in small chunks; RuiZhi never pressed or asked, leaving it to the older boy when he felt like talking about himself. Such a time seemed to be presenting itself now, making the younger boy regret having ever thought that Wei was pulling away from him. "" he remarked softly, still leaning his head on Weiyuan's shoulder. "" He turned his head almost upside down to view Weiyuan's face, offering an encouraging smile. It looked a little silly, given the boy's position, but he was trying!

RuiZhi snaked his arm around Weiyuan, giving him a half-hug and little squeeze. He knew it must be difficult for Wei to talk about his father, having lost him so recently; the younger boy missed his family, but he didn't cry or mourn them anymore. He was at peace with the life he was in. "" RuiZhi said, lifting his other hand to wipe a stray tear on his brother's face, "" He gaze a teasing smile and another squeeze. ""

RuiZhi shifted so that he was facing his brother a little more, still ignoring the populace as he wrapped his arms around Weiyuan's bare torso. "" He sat like that comfortably for a while, trying to think of what would make Weiyuan smile when he remembered his previous conversation with the older boy's boyfriend.
