To be honest, Cerek had no interest in ever meeting his father. He believed the stallion had abandoned his mother, and thus had a strong dislike for him...though he didn't even know his name. His sister, on the other hand, he'd want to meet one day. It was intriguing to him, having a sister he'd never known.
Cerek laughed, tossing his head up to the sky as Mara took off after him. Clouds of sticky dust rose from his pounding hooves, leaving a blatant trail of floating dirt and hard hoof prints on the soft earth. He slowed just slightly, leveling out with the golden mare. As their hooves created a rhythmic drumbeat against the hollow earth, Cerek's blue eyes slid to the side, watching the mare beside him. He was dazzled by her lightness and swift legs, as well as her sparkling coat. He'd never seen a golden horse before, and he was stunned by the way the color shown in the sunlight. He grinned at her again, winking as he angled his nose to the sky and neighed loudly. His hooves seemed to pause in midair a moment before his pace took off, and he veered to the side, plunging into the thick forest. Tree-dodging was one of his favorite sports, and the silly young stallion had a particular fancy for doing it at breakneck speeds, making it harder to control.

She bolted beside him, watching him watch her, and admire. She was doing her own admiring as well. He was like Heaven with the eyes of the sea. She'd never seen the ocean, but she knew what her mother'd said, and she knew that was what it had to look like.
As he started angling through the trees, she grew sure he didnt know this are very well. There were ponds located amongst branches, and some wetlands scattered about too. She'd been unlucky enough to fall in a few of them, and she knew he wasnt going to be looking.
"Cerek, be careful." She called, racing to catch up, but not going too fast as to match his pace of uncontrolablility.

The young stallion heard her warning, yet all he did was simply glance over his shoulder and grin. Cerek definitely didn't know all the dangers hidden between the dense trees, but he did know exactly where he was going. Not but a week ago, Cerek had stumbled on...a sort of oasis. It was towards this hidden paradise that the stallion bolted.
His breath came it short, hard gasps as he darted between thick trunks and lurched over fallen branches. His mane and tail snagged in various vines and brambles, but he didn't seem to mind. But there it was - a thick covering of bushy leaves, with only the narrowest of gaps, surrounded by a thick weave of trees. It was towards this that he bolted...
...And through this that he vanished. His dash through the small opening snapped the thin branches back, leaving a Cerek-sized hole amongst them. Of course, the canopy above, so close together, let very little sunlight in, so it was very unlikely that Mara would notice anything but his disappearance...And the very loud splash that followed.

Mara saw him continue going, and she waited for him to fall.. For she knew it was soon to come.
She ran, trying to keep up with him now, wanting to be there to help him, should he get hurt.. Or even just wet.
Finally, he dissappeared from her view, and the splash that followed was indicator enough.
"Cerek?" She asked, looking for the young stallion. The darkness covered the whole where he'd fallen, and it smelled of bog. So that meant it was probably only water and moss.
"Cerek, are you okay?"

While the smell may have been similar to bog, it was truly just the heady, heavy smell of moss and vegetation. Cerek would never dignify his 'falling' into a smelly, greasy bog. "Over here," he called cheerfully to Mara.
Cheerful he was, for Cerek was currently paddling in the water. The earthy bottom of the still pool was only a scant few inches below his hooves, so the very tip of his hooves could reach...if he really tried. Call him odd, but Cerek actually liked swimming. And so he was, in tight circles, head tilted to the sky to keep it away from the water. His tail flared out behind him, floating on the surface like some weird aquatic plant of silver and black. Upon hearing her voice again, Cerek chuckled, calling out, "I'm perfectly fine, m'lady. Just a convenient tumble."
That was a lie, though. Cerek had leaped of his own free will straight into the water.

She smiled, as she heard his splashes swimming in the water. Shaking her head and rolling her chocoalte sparkling orbs, she looked at him, swimming like a wolf pup in an attempt to enjoy himself.
"Well, if falling was all you did.." She said, raising an eyebrow and narrowing her eyes.
"I love water.. But I believe that bogs and overgrown water masses, tend to be very gross.. Lemme roll in mud anyday, but not dirty water." She laughed at herself, and looked at him oddly.
"Did you just call me m'lady?"

"It's not gross...just a little sticky 'round the top," he chuckled, eyes narrowing as a grin stretched his soft muzzle. Amused enough with his childish antics, Cerek paddled towards the pool's incline, wading out of the still, murky waters. As he emerged from the dark hole, water slid off his dark coat, and bits of moss and other nameless vegetations had somehow wiggled their way into his mane and tail.
Standing near Mara, he shook. He was only close enough to scatter a few drops over her, but that was his intent. Playful, but not rude. Still chortling, he raised an eyebrow. "Why, yes I did. I hope such a title didn't offend you? I simply find it fitting."

She smiled. "It did not offend me sir, as long as it may mean something and it isnt a title easily won."
She said, sticking a darkened hoof into the depths of the water, then pulling it out, shaking it a bit with a smirk on her face.
She shook the little droplets from her body that he had so cleverly placed. Raising an eyebrow, she smiled.
"Ah, but my dear, I fear you have a little something in your mane."
She said, pulling out some of the mossy grass with her teeth.

"Such a thing is never easily won. Only the finest of young mares can be referred to by such royal terms," he chuckled, bending one leg so that he fell into a very graceful bow.
Flicking his tail and scattering water droplets in every situation, he grinned at Mara as she removed the moss from his mane. "Such are the consequences of a good time. But," he said, gasping. "I do believe you have something in yours as well!" He bent his neck around with some difficulty, snagging a damp bit of grass from his mane. Moving forward slightly, he tossed the slimy article directly on top of Mara's head, between her ears. Laughing heartily, the young stallion quickly backed away, dancing off at a slow trot.

She smiled, this stallion was charming. Maybe, one day.. She could convince him that he needed to woo her. She'd never woo a stallion.. But maybe she could hint? What would momma say? Nevermind.. She told herself.. She knew what momma would say. Momma would not condone it.
Being pulled from her thoughts, her eyes crossed as they looked above her head between her ears where a slimy piece of grass was now residing.
"Ah, well, Dare I say, that you are too kind to share? I do say, however, that I love how you share so freely. Because one can never be without their own blade of moss."
She said, nudging him.

Wooing? Why, Cerek would woo any that even gave the slightest suggestion. He'd even woo a few that didn't want to be wooed in the first place. Cerek was very free with his flirting and affection, and he had no desire, it seemed, to find any sort of stable life. He liked moving too much - like a bee, visiting each beautiful flower whenever he so chose to do so. Whether this would lead to consequences later on in life, no one could possibly no.
"I thought so too. Every individual should own their own blade of lovely, slimy, filmy grass, don't you think? Besides, it so compliments you," he chuckled. His shoulder slid against hers, nudging in return. Turning his eyes to the sky, he said, "So, Lady Mara. What should we turn our attention to now?"

She smiled. Giving a wink of her eyes.
"Well, we should get out of this forest first. For all we know, it might be dark! And then mother would so worry." She teased.
She started off in the direction of the clearing, walking slowly, but not looking back, for she knew he'd follow.
Giving a brief shake of her mane, she spoke without turning.
"My dear Cerek, I must say that you are quite the charmer. I know this is a rather brash question, but I wish to give my mother grandchildren.. Before it is too late for her, and was wondering if you knew of anyone who might help?"
Her teepee mate Jean-Claude had told her mating didnt need to happen to have children. All she wanted was a child, she cared for no mate of any kind. "And I hope you do not find me too forward."

Cerek winked back, grinning just as wide. "And we wouldn't want that, now would we?" Just as she supposed, Cerek followed her dutifully. His head was even with her flanks, and he was slowly gaining when he heard her question.
He stopped dead.
Eyes widening slightly, he shook his head and trotted a bit to catch up to her. He, a father? The though had never really occurred to him, as he'd never thought about settling down with anyone. But...you didn't really have to settle down to have children, did you? Cerek had no desire for a mate. He was still young and virile. He didn't want to be restricted quite yet. "Not brash, nor forward, m'dear," he said, smiling kindly at her. His shoulder nudged against hers, and he winked mischievously. "I do believe I know someone who could help.
The young stallion pulled ahead, easing himself into the clearing. He stopped, and turned, looking at Mara through lowered blue eyes. "But what do I get in return for offering such an important service as finding a father for your child?"

She smiled, and couldnt help but giggle at the word 'service'. But indeed, that is what she needed. SHe needed to be serviced, as giddy as that sounded.
She gave the face of thought, and did think for a bit. She really had nothing to offer, so it wasnt as if she had lots of precious weavings or beads from Anusha. Truth was, Anusha wasnt too happy with ehr at the moment.
"Well.. I dont have much, but I could give the satisfaction of a job well done, and an integrel part in the foals lives.. Other than that.. I really dont have much."
She said, as serious as she could be. She wasnt looking for a mate, but for a 'mate.' She just wanted foals, and maybe a really close friendship with the stallion that chose her.
"Im sorry if it isnt enough.."

Cerek seemed to go into deep contemplation, hemming and hawing exaggeratedly. He had a difficult time keeping the grin off his lips, but he failed when it came to his eyes. Turned his head to her, he chuckled. "I think that's quite adequate. Now...whoever could we find to be the father?"
He stepped forward on heavily feathered legs, circling around Mara. "I honestly don't know many stallions that are worthy of one as radiant and charming as you. Except...my own self of course," he chuckled. Arrogant? Not one bit.
A friendship would indeed be necessary. Even if Cerek spawned dozens of young versions of himself, he'd want to be involved with all of them. He grew up without a father, and he'd never want his own brood to have to go through the same thing. Grinning at her, Cerek came to a halt right in front of Mara. He reached out his soft muzzle, touching hers with his own. "I hope that I'll be satisfactory. I'm not much, but I am adequate, to say the least."
