"Newt's a frog," He replied shortly, lifting his free hand to rub his temple. He did not need Newt's stutter irritating him further today. "A frog with a stammer. Pleasure, I'm Thom," he added as an afterthought, and finished off his drink just as the frog man can bounding into the beach bar and crashing behind the bar to hide. He grimaced and waited for all of ten seconds before setting down his glass and slipping behind the bar after Newt, hardly taking note of Tommy's words. "It's August, not April. Newt, calm down, you're with friends."

"Pleasssure Thom" Victor nodded to the Sankeman, and then watched as Newt leaped past them all and crashed behind the bar, it was surprising and surreal at the same time, and startled Victor enough for him to almost fall off the barstool he was balancing himself on, and ended up loosing the icebucket, which fell to the ground, on Newt's side of the bar.
"Whatsss wrong with him now?" Victor frowned, not moving from his seat, it was too difficult for him to get up and move from the seat to go and see the cowering Newt. But he did look at Tommy for a moment, it was the end of March before this had all happened.... was it a prank? there was no way of knowing.
"Jussst, Come on out... Newt, Nobody issss going too hurt you"

"I... I... krrrIIIT!" Newt tried to talk, but his throat was clenched too tight to be of any use to form words until he calmed down. Voices voices two he recognized! Right, right, concentrate, breath and think. Think in words. Right. "KrrKIT!!" WORDS! Words, right. Right. Okay. "Huh... Hiding!" He finally managed to squeak, trembling so violently his massive form shook the counter top above him and rattled the bottles in the racks on either side of him.

"April fools...that...that has to be it," he muttered, nodding to himself a few times...as if trying to knock the idea into his own head. However, it didn't lodge itself fast enough because the good-natured person in him instantly reached out for Newt...the guy looked so scared. He talked softly, trying to make his words sound as soothing as possible. "Hey...Newt...Newton...listen to my voice, alright? It's Tommy...you've got friends all around you...you understand me, Newton? Take a few deep breaths and clear your mind. Just listen to me, Newton...don't think about anything else, just listen to my words. You're safe...no one here's gonna hurt you."

"Obviously," Thom snapped, rolling his eyes. "Stop hidin', you're safe with us." Without further ado, he reached down and looped an arm under one of Newt's, tugging the frog man out of his hiding spot. Newt was being, well...Newt, and sweet-talking him until he calmed down was bound to take hours. Confronting him straight-on was more likely to make Newt see some sense. It had worked in the past, anyway. "Calm down, Newt."

Victor sat on his Barstool, looking over the bar towards Thom and Tommy as they tried to calm Newt down, while the Snakeman tried to draw him out more forcefully.
"Newt, nobody isss going to hurt you" Victor added in as he looked at Tommy doubtfully. "You really think thissss whole thing issss ssssome messsed up joke or sssomething?" The Lizardman wasn't sure of anything right now, was it April 1st or was it August 29th? It seemed like it was august, but.... Doubt creapt into Victor's mind, the only thing he was sure of right now was the frightened Newton.
The multilimbed lizardman gently lowered himself down from the Barstool, almost slipping off and landing with a slight thump, before crawling around the Bar to get a look at Newt. "Jussst tell usss whatss the matter Newt"

Newt gave a sharp crying croak as he was wrenched upward by the snake, his wide tan speckled belly finally exposed. He flailed, making useless noises before managing to get some sort of control over his mouth, "N-N-N-NO! N-NO I ONLY J-JUST...!" There scribed across that belly was a black marker dotted line, as though he had just fled from a giant dissection table. His eyes swept from the familiar sight of Thom to the not-so familiar contorted shape of Victor, and the frog went rigid, frozen in terror at the hypothetical predator. Claws! Claws and scales! Warning bells! Water NOW! "KrrIIIT!" He ended stupidly, his bulbous eyes boggling.

Tommy just blinked as Thom decided to take matters into his own hands. Jesus Christ Christmas...what the hell does that snake think he's doing? The poor b*****d's going to have a goddamn heart attack! "You're scaring the s**t out of him," he said simply to Thom. He casually swirled the ice around in his glass...and looked up just in time to see what could only be the lines marking an impending vivisection on Newton's person.
His eyes went wide. "Holy s**t," he said quietly...he glanced from Victor to Thom and then back to Newt. "Newton...quiet, man...just tell us what happened...please, alright?"

"Newt panics at th' drop of a hat," he argued, tongue giving a quick flick. He kept a firm hold on the frogman's arm, attempting to keep Newt from running around or bouncing back off into the jungle. It very quickly became clear that Newt wasn't about to hold still, and so Thom resorted back to the same attempt he had made during the incident with Jordan. Catching Newt's other arm, he pinned both to the frogman's sides before quickly coiling his tail around Newt a good few times, then simply 'sitting' on top of the frog man. "I'll let you up when you calm down."

Victor blinked as he watched Thom coiled around Newt, holding him tight and still. The Lizardman had gotten a look at the dotted lines on Newt's belly, briefly getting a mental flashback to highschool biology, when they had to dissect a frog and a sheep's eye.
"Are thossse tattooed on him? thosse linesss?" he asked, moving a bit closer to Newton and Thom. "Newton, try clossssing your eyesss and counting to ten Ssslowly"

Newt cried out, struggling and kicking and croaking as the snake wrapped around him. The last time, he had been human enough to keep a grip on things, but this time the frog spasmed and squealed in terror of being eaten. He was in a pit of snakes! The monstrous lizard's words drifted in one ear pad and out the other like incoherent hisses. His heart was racing, his hearing ringing with the force of his pulse. Finally, it seemed his body seized up, eyes bugging and snout parted open to suckle at the air frantically.

Tommy's eyes went wide as Thom wrapped himself around the frog man. For a moment, he had no idea what to do...the snake-man...what the hell was his name? Newton told Tommy his name before...Tomm...Thom!
"THOM! Christ, man! Look at him! He's having a panic attack! Just let him go and slither somewhere else because you're not ******** helping! Most we can do now is just leave him alone and hope he snaps out of it..."

Thom only tightened his hold in response to Newt's continued squirming, attempting to hold the frog still long enough to get a look at the lines drawn on him. However, between his already thin-worn patience and the shout from the bat man, he soon abandoned his attempts. "If he were that bad off, 'e'd 'ave been zapped, or I'd 'ave been zapped by now." He levels his eyes at Tommy, fangs bared as he hissed a warning towards the bat, but nonetheless slid off and away from the frog, retrieving one of the bottles from the bar and tossing a dismissive wave back towards the trio before heading out to the beach and the jungle.

The Lizardman watched as Thom hissed at Tommy and eventually let go of Newt before slithering off. What was his problem? Other than the Obvious of course. Once Thom had gone, his atterntion went back to Newt and Tommy, the frog was certainly not taking any of this very well, and Newt's panicked behavior only made Victor nervious.
"Newt... Newt! The sssnake is gone jussst Relaxs and Breathe!" Victor doubted that his own apperance was helping the situation any.

Once the snake let go, Newt dropped back down to the ground to leap back into his hiding spot once again with a terrified noise. As he scrambled, the marks on his stomach and joints were unmistakable, his swim trunks in as worse a wear as ever. So far, his attempt to find a fresh new pair that were less jungle-worn was unsuccessful. Whether it was the amount of limbs or the scales themselves that made Victor so terrifying to the large green creature was unclear.
