I watched Star Trek on cable while I was relatively little. I don't remember how I started, but I remember being scared by TOS episode the Man Trap, I went to bed just after watching it, and I kept seeing the alien (monster!).
When I was at high school, I made friends why were interested in sci-fi, and I started watching Trek again, and for the first time watched DS9... biggrin

My brother was a Trekkie, and I wasn't interested at all. Then one of my friends dragged me to a local ST convention. I bought a tribble, but still wasn't hooked. It just came about gradually because Star Trek just always exists and has been a part of our realities for so long that it was inevitable. Most of our science fiction vocabulary comes from Star Trek, and we judge all science fiction movies by Star Trek.
