Cheerful Spirit Yup-yup, indeed. 3nodding But you know what, Hippie? I think I'll add this to the SOAD F.A.Q. gonk Tee-hee. Good idea, many people have been asking who Danny and Lisa are.......by the way, my names Tyler. On to song meanings, what Throw me to the spiders said about Soldier Side makes sense. But I always thought the song was from a soldier's point of view, who knew that he was sent to war with a good chance of dying. Which is pretty interesting, because the words "Soldier Side" kind of seems like a way of combining the words "soldier" and "suicide".

Allright, thanks, Tyler. 3nodding heart (Sucks to ignore people's names.) I also thought it was from the soldier's point of view, as well. surprised But Cassie's made a good point, too. About LIH, I always thought it was about business in Hollywood. Just like Daron says; the people end up finding you, they say you're the greatest and you fall into their traps. You get your hopes up, but they use you, and once they're done with you: "Bai bai" without giving a ******** about your feelings. In the end you're all alone. 3nodding

Man I really enjoy Mezmerize, it's pretty deep....Heh it's pretty ironic that I was brought up listening to pop like britney spears, n*sync and all those other s**t-tacular bands and artists (if you so desire to call them just that...I prefer clones XD) and Britney spears is all for war and bullshit, but yet, here I am, listening to system of a down and other harder music.... Haha my sisters HATE my music....My sister Nicole didn't even want me going to this SoaD concert coming up in september....she didn't even like me going to a Billy talent or alexisonfire concert! In fact, she wanted me to go to a black eyed peas concert with her on friday!
Oops, hah I just went a bit off topic, didn't I? domokun lol

Mezmerize is a very powerful album, and I've found through articles and interviews that it's a personal release of feelings for the band, not to mention a very strong political attire to the album.
My Views
Soldier Side/Intro: In life, we pretty much have a war with ourselves about how we feel and how we deal with everyday problems.
BYOB: Great song with a great message. I read in Rolling Stones that Daron wrote BYOB as an ode to his grandparents who live in Iraq, and how they wouldn't move out of the country despite the numerous problems. Being anti-Bush (sorry, I have my reasons), this song speaks to me about the political problems of America.
Revenga: People you thought were friends end up back-stabbing you. I can relate.
Cigaro: People with "big jobs" have big egos.
Radio/Video: Also in RS, Daron said Danny and Lisa were long-time friends who disappeared.
This Cocaine...: I can't really find a deep meaning which is fine; soem songs are meant to be random.
Violent Pornography: The media is a frenzy of lies and gossip; "the kind of s**t you get on your TV."
Sad Statue: Rebellious youth who don't agree with society's values.
Old School Hollywood: A celebrity baseball game that Serj played in (also from RS).
Lost in Hollywood: Another media-gone-wrong song... be happy with what you have.

i think that byob is talking about many things...
like when they says " Breaking into Fort Knox stealing our intentions" I think that means that out intentions for the war in iraq is only the money involved in it.
When they say "Everybody is going to the party Have a real good time Dancing in the desert Blowing up the sunshine" I think that mean that the "party" is the war and how the army is showing all the glory that is in war but not showing how its still just killing people and about how the government is giving war a face of glory instead of death
And about Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they send the poor? well i think thats kinda self explanitory
