Eirwyn We got along with quarries for alien planets for decades & did fine, thank ya very much RTD.... :X Really, they did fine with 'The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit', although most of the CGI was for the beast....but still, I loved how they did the crew lady floating in space to the black hole...and all they have to do is find some kind of quarry or something, and add in some CGI later for the background. I wanna see outer space! What's the good of having a TARDIS if you can't go to other planets? You might as well call it a 'TA'....not much in the 'relative dimensions in space' part. confused stare exclaim

So, its just 'The T'. The Tee. That doesn't sound half as exciting.

Eirwyn Unless Time Lords are mad about golfing. *chuckles* Yeah, maybe the Time Lords and the Stargate team could have a tournament... I have to admit, the idea of the Doctor only vaguely knowing how to get the TARDIS to do anything appeals to me. I remember noticing the change really in "Fear Her", when he materialises it between two skips and can't open the doors properly - so he adjusts. The old Doctors would not have been able to do that. We do still have an element of it - Ian Drury concert becomes Scottish moorland, for example - so at least it's not entirely disappeared. DW

I quite like the idea of the TARDIS having it's own personality, so that if you upset it or something it doesn't do what its supposed to as s sort of punishment, or if you want to take it somewhere it doesn't want to go. Also I quite like the idea of the Doctor being somewhat incompetent. It makes him more endearing.

Hmm, now there's a thought... maybe the TARDIS should do a bit more... materialising in difficult, strange and rather awkward places. Just for a laugh.

And I was going to call it the 'T'...but I suppose 'TA' would make just a bit more sense if you consider that's where all the good writing material is apparently going. sweatdrop

In fact, I'm going all the way and saying that they sound more or less exactly the same. And we all know how the Doctor feels about tea... 3nodding

Actually, it's still got the "relative dimensions." Just not "in space." And that, and the resulting name, is terrible. I know the TARDIS behaves stupidly sometimes, but that'd be making it personal... xd
