((continued from chapter 6))

"It's Stephanie." he stated sadly.

Locke took a sip of his rum as his eyebrows flicked up, "Ah, you're lil' sweetheart....how is she?" Lonewolf clenched his fist so hard that the glass he was holding suddenly burst in his hand, cutting his clenched fist in the process. "We broke up." Lonewolf hissed with the utmost hatred in his voice.

..and I thought Arianna had it bad... thought Locke. Blood was visible on the table as drops dripped from Lonewolf's hand. He seemed to not notice it and continued talking, "One day, she just comes up to me and tells me she doesn't want to get married and wants to leave me for good. She calls me 'delusional' and 'creepy' with my 'clingy-ness'.That ******** b***h had been toying with my heart the entire time! She HAD to have been...why would she say such things about me, when all I did was love her with all my heart and soul? She never truly loved me at all!!" His voice raised slightly at that last part, causing a few heads to turn.

"Easy..." Locke attempted to calm Lone down. "Not so loud...trust me, you don't want any attention in a place like this." Lonewolf waved Locke off, "What the ******** do I care?! You think I give a s**t if whether or not I die?!?!" Locke noticed a few pirates grinning in Lonewolf's direction.

He looked back at Lone, "Fine. Go ahead and get yourself killed, but at least keep it down when I'm with you. I'm trying to keep a low profile here, y'know." Lonewolf remained quiet and somewhat surprised at what Locke said.

Locke nodded, "That's right. You think I care if whether or not you go into a drunken stupor and find yourself head-over-heels lying on the ground dead in a gutter? No. I don't. I just train my pupils, what they do with their lives after that is their choice. But you know what, kid? I was actually proud of you. I thought you were different then all the other selfish little bastards I've trained in my life. I thought you would actually BE somebody one of these days....but here you are, sitting there like a rotten heap of garbage, not-to-mention smell like one too. I stand corrected, kid." Locke began sipping his rum as he shook his head in disgust. Completely ignoring the fact of how cold his words were.

Lonewolf remained silent. Locke's words cut him deep. He stared at nothing, completely dazed, "....Y...you're right..." He said finally. "It was wrong of me to track you down and try to place all of my problems onto you....it's just....I have no one in my life anymore. I feel like that little orphan again, alone and helpless...."

Locke interrupted Lone after he took another swig of his drink, "I've seen a lot of orphans in my day, Lone and trust me...you were definitely not helpless. You fought like a pro, kid, and still do I bet. You're just too busy sitting around, feeling sorry for yourself, instead of picking yourself back up and making things better for yourself. Get a job, go out and meet people. Join a guild, or even better, MAKE one. Do whatever it takes to make yourself forget about the past and prepare for the future. Life's too short, kid. Don't waste it on booze and depression."

Lonewolf, looked up at Locke. An expression of complete understanding was seen through his eyes. Locke smiled mischievously, "You're welcome, kid." He nodded, then took one last swig of his drink and placed the empty glass on the table then got up to leave.

Lonewolf called out to Locke as he was walking out of the pub, "Will I ever see you again...master?" Locke just shrugged without turning around to regard Lone, "In this life or the next, kid." He flipped a gold coin at the bartender, who fumbled a bit before catching it, then walked out of the pub.

Chapter 7: "It's a Pirate's Life for Me"

Rumors had been going around town about an island called Croatia. It is a small island that has said to harness magical properties, ancient artifacts of old and extreme beauty. However, at the same time, the island is known to be the birth place for all sorts of evil and demons from hell.

Drunken pirates would talk about their ventures in Croatia, saying how close they got to obtaining a valuable treasure with powerful magical properties, but were forced to escape with their lives when they were attacked by demons, werewolves, vampire, etc. The story always changed every time it was told.

Lonewolf regarded all these rumors with skepticism, however the talk of demons caught his attention. He definitely believed in demons alright. Ever since that attack on Brigadine, talk of demons was always a serious issue with Lone.

Lonewolf had been seeing a lot of Zanaria lately ever since he joined a band of pirates that dealed with smuggling weapons from port to port. Though these pirates were not the usual "cutt-throat" band of pirates. They were vagabonds who seeked adventure on the sea. Men who worked together as a team and put their morals before anything else.

The captain of their crew, Captain Fernando De Vega (AKA Cpt. Vega) was an honorable man. Never lying unless he needed to, always caring about his ship mates' well being, always fair amongst others, and always following his morals/principles with utmost stubborness. Cpt. Vega had earned the title: "The Sheriff of the Sea".

Standing tall at about 6'10'' with a broad chest and shoulders, he was quite the intimidating sight to behold. Clad in a dark blue and gold pirate garb, complete with a pirate hat and a black eye-patch covering his left eye. His only eye was as blue as the open sea and his long hair, mustache and go-tee were as red as the deep crimson blood of his enemies. His weapons of choice were his trusty old pirate pistol, which he has had with him since he first became a pirate, and a long, sharp, golden rod scythe which he carried with him everywhere like a walking stick.

Cpt. Vega and Lonewolf had become good friends ever since Lone joined his crew. They were like father and son and fought alongside each other against the usual murderous bands of pirates who tried to steal their stolen treasure. With Vega's help, Lone learned how to be quite the swordsman with his rapier, not to mention a helluva good shot with a pistol.

Along with Cpt. Vega, Lonewolf had made friends with 2 other crew mates, named Majik Mason and Aerial Funichelo. Majik had white spiky hair, though he was 2 years younger than Lone, and blue eyes. He was always clad in black leather clothing and used a thick, giant greatsword which was about the size of his own body.

Though a good fighter, Majik was quite the hot-head. Always losing his temper and taking things the wrong way. He is also extremely impulsive and constantly rushing into things without thinking things through first. As for Aerial, he was the exact opposite of Majik.

Standing at about 5'10'' in height and as thin as a plank, brown short hair and brown, innocent eyes, Aerial was a coward, and avoided conflict as much as possible. Not to mention as clumsy as an ox in a living room. Although, he was a somewhat decent fighter under tight situations, beating his enemies more on accident then on purpose, It's a wonder that he's lived as long as he had.

For a year and a half, Lonewolf earned his living under Vega's control. However, he couldn't help but feel drawn to this island everybody was talking about. Lonewolf decided to have a talk with his captain.

"Sir? May I come in?" Lonewolf knocked on Cpt. Vega's door. "Come in." Vega's muffled voice can be heard from behind it. Lonewolf turned the door knob and entered the captain's chambers. It was a bit stuffy in the captain's room. The air lingered with the strong smell of cigars and rum, a smell Lone had grown accustomed to. The captain sat behind an intricately designed wooden desk, smoking a cigar as his legs were propped up on his desk, crossed over each other.

He was wearing casual clothes at the moment, a white, dirt stained frilly shirt, his usual pants and boots and was no longer wearing his pirate hat. He smiled once he saw who entered his chambers and gestured with his cigar at the empty seat in front of his desk. "Have a seat, m'boy." Lonewolf nodded and sat down in front of Vega's desk.

"So...to what do I owe the pleasure of this unexpected visit this time at night?" Asked Vega. Lonewolf hesitated a bit before speaking, "....I wish to leave the crew, sir." Vega smiled, "Ah, a vacation? Very well then, when will you be coming back?" Lonewolf shook his head and looked up at his captain, "No sir. Not a vacation. I wish to leave the crew...permanently."

Vega's eyebrows furrowed slightly, "Now why would you want to go and do something like that, Wolf? We're all family here, you know that. Where do you plan on going after leaving us?" Lonewolf hesitated. "...Well?" Vega persisted as he cocked a bushy eyebrow and began inhaling some of the smoke from his cigar. Lonewolf looked off to the side, "Croatia."

Vega damn near swallowed his cigar after hearing that name. His body convulsed into a fit of coughing. After a few moments, the coughing spasms ended, eyes watery now from coughing, Vega looked at Lone as if he were insane. "Croatia?! Have you lost your mind Wolf?! Every pirate knows that that place is filled with all sorts of evil! Why on earth would you want to go there?!" Lonewolf smiled slightly to himself, "Taking the advice of an old friend."

Vega lifted an eyebrow, he remained looking at Lone as if he had lost his mind completely. "I don't follow." Lonewolf shook his head, "Forget it. Are you going to let me go or not?" Cpt. Vega heaved a heavy sigh, then put out his cigar in a nearby ashtray. "Though I think you've gone and lost your damn mind....you can go..." Lonewolf smiled, "On one condition." Continued Vega. Lonewolf nodded "Name it."

Vega reached down to his gun holster and pulled out his old pistol. "I want you to take this." Lonewolf's eyes widened, "Sir, I couldn't possibly..." Vega shaked his head angrily, completely brushing off Lonewolf's words. "Just take her, son, you're going to need her. This baby has been with me practically my whole life...and now I want you to have her." He handed the gun to Lonewolf.

Lone reluctantly grabbed the pistol, "...but..." Vega shook his head. "No 'buts'. You're the best man I got on this ship, and that's a fact. I would give my pistol to no one else. I'd hate to lose you, son, but I guess we all have our own paths to follow in life. We set sail for Croatia tomorrow morning. I'd advise that you get some rest." Lonewolf nodded, stood up, and headed for the door, but stopped before opening it. "Vega.." Vega looked up, "Yes?" Lonewolf looked back at him, "Thank you." Vega smiled, "Your welcome, Lone." He opened the door and headed back to bed.

Chapter 8: Tag-a-Longs

Lonewolf Awoke the next morning only to see Majik's angry face. It startled Lone, causing him to sit up quickly and bumping his head on the bunk above his. "Ow..." Lonewolf rubbed at his forehead. "How come you didn't tell me or Aerial that you were leaving for Croatia, Lone?" Demanded Majik. He spoke very fast and annoyingly loud.

"Stay out of this, Majik." Stated Lone as he turned over in his bunk, facing his back towards Majik. "Oh no you don't!" Majik pulled Lonewolf by his shoulder, forcing him to turn to face him. Lonewolf just looked up at Majik with an aloof expression. "What the hell are you going to be doing in Croatia by yourself anyway?! Is there some kind of valuable treasure there that you want all for yourself? C'mon, man! Don't leave me out of the loop like this!"

Lonewolf rolled his eyes as he got out of bed and bent over to pick up his white, frilly shirt from the ground. "I don't think like you, Majik. There's no 'big secret' treasure that I'm keeping from you guys." He put his shirt on and grabbed a grey, cloth bag and swung it over his shoulder. He had packed all of his belongings into that bag the night prior. He then started to walk up the stairs that lead to the deck.

Majik jogged up the steps ahead of him, "Wait! (huff) why..(huff) why are you going there then?" Lonewolf shrugged, "To move on with my life. I don't plan on following orders for the rest of my life. I'm going there to make something of myself." Majik looked suspicious, "But WHY Croatia?!"

Lonewolf smiled mischievously, "Because of the dangers there. The place is practically begging for a hero to save it, so I plan on making a guild to fight off the evil and defend the innocent people who live there." Majik looked confused, "Wait...so you're going there to 'fight evil'? Dude, are you suicidal or something?! Are you that desperate to die?!" Lonewolf winked, "On the contrary, I'm that desperate to live."

He walked pass Majik and opened the trap door on the ceiling that led to the deck, then climbed up the ladder. He could hear Majik underneath him whining loudly, "But what about the TREASURE?!"

The deck was, as usual, bussling with activity. Men tugging on salt water soaked ropes, others cleaning and scrubbing the decks, a few men were singing in a drunken stoopor while drinking rum, the usual loud and noisy morning that Lonewolf was accustomed to.

He heard a faint voice in the distance call out his name. Looking left and right at first, he realized it was coming from above, but before he fully looked up, something fell past his vision from above and landed on the deck with a loud, "thud". Lonewolf already knew who it was, and helped Aerial up off the ground.

"Damn rope ladders always tangling up on you..." Aerial cursed at the ladder. Lonewolf waited patiently for Aerial to regain his composure. "You call me just now, Aerial?" Aerial nodded "Yeah, I heard you were leaving the crew for Croatia?" Lonewolf nodded. "How come?" He asked, his voice more sincere then Majik's. "I plan on creating a guild of my own to protect the innocent people that live there." He said simply.

Aerial seemed amazed, as he always envied Lone's courage and strength, "Wow man...you're really brave. I wish I could be as brave as you are." Lonewolf smiled warmly and patted Aerial on the shoulder, "You are, Aerial. You just don't know it yet." Aerial smiled sadly, "Well, I wish I did..." He added.

Lonewolf just smiled and shook his head. Aerial was always self destructive and always feeling sorry for himself, no matter how much you compliment the guy, he just never seems to be satisfied with himself. "Hey...can I come with you?" Asked Aerial, looking up at Lonewolf with hopeful eyes. Lone hesitated, "Uh..." Majik suddenly popped out from behind Aerial, "Yeah! Can we come with you?!" Lonewolf didn't know what to say. He really wanted to do this alone and never really thinking about bringing anybody with him. "Um...uh..."

Suddenly A large hand clasped onto Lone's shoulder from behind. Lonewolf turned swiftly to see who it was. It was Cpt. Vega, who was smiling broadly. "Of course, you two can go with Wolf!" he said happily. Aerial smiled while Majik jumped up and down hollering in triumph. "Hurry up and go pack, you two. We are nearing Croatia as we speak."

Majik and Aerial both nod and race back down the trap door, leading to the bunkers. Majik quickly hopping down into the bunkers and Aerial tripping over himself and falling in. Lonewolf looked up at Vega with a surprised look on his face. Vega's smile faded and he had a more serious look on him.

"I want you to take them with you, Lone. You and I both know that the pirate life isn't for them. Majik is ambitious enough, but far too reckless and Aerial is far too cowardly and weak. Though they have their flaws, they could still be of some use to you. Both are diligent, hard workers, and will serve you well in this 'guild' you speak of." Lonewolf nodded, "Very well, sir." The captain did have a point, after all. Vega's smile returned, "Make em into men, son!" He clapped twice onto Lone's shoulder and went back to steering the ship.

Lonewolf didn't know if whether he should be leaping up and down in glee, or pulling his hair out from its roots.

Chapter 9: "The Land of Evil..?"

Lonewolf, accompanied by Majik and Aerial, waved goodbye to Vega and his former shipmates as the ship floated away from them. He heaved a sigh, then turned to regard his surroundings. The island looked peaceful enough. He picked up his sack of belongings and flung it over his shoulder, then signaled Majik and Aerial to follow. Aerial picked up his chest of belongings and let it hang by his ankles as he walked behind Lonewolf.

Majik had trouble gathering his belongings, as he strapped on his large backpack and picked up two large chests by their handles, one in each hand, he stumbled a bit to the side as he almost fell over from the excessive weight. The sinking beach sand wasn't helping his balance either. "I told you to pack light, kid." Said Lone without looking back to regard Majik. "Aww shaddap!" Snorted Majik as he nearly tripped on some seaweed.

Lonewolf chuckled to himself as he escalated up the small hill. As soon as he reached the top, he stood perfectly still as his jaw dropped and his eyes widened. "What is it?" Asked Aerial, somewhat alarmed at Lone's sudden immobilization. "It's..." Began Lone, "...beautiful..." He said in awe. Aerial looked over his shoulder to see what Lonewolf was looking at, only to have his heart skip a beat at the sheer beauty of what lied before his very eyes.

Green. That is the best way to describe the spectacle that lied before the former pirates. Large, green, grassy hills going on for miles. A beautiful forest with large, giant-like pine trees pervaded the entire east side of the island. Snowy mountains poked out from the forest and from beyond the grassy hills. Everything looked so....natural. So untouched.

Wild horses by the dozens can be seen in the distance as they raced each other across the grassy fields. Seagulls flew all around the beach, looking to scavenge for food. It's amazing how Croatia, "The Land of Evil", can look so much like heaven. Amongst the gorgeous scenery, Lonewolf caught a glance of what looked like a rickety old sign in the distance. He walked forward to get a better look at the sign.

"West: Cliffside Village. East: Forest of Divinity."

He cocked an eyebrow. "None of this looks very 'evil' to me." He mused sarcastically. Aerial nodded, "Yeah...but look at the sign. That must be hundreds of years old at the very least." Lonewolf tilted his head to the side as he examined the wood on the sign.

Aerial did have a point there, the wood itself was pale and choppy looking and the nails holding it all together were bright red with rust. Majik poked his head out from between Lone and Aerial, "Whatcha lookin' at?!" Lonewolf rolled his eyes and continued down the path to the west. "Forget it. Come on, let's check out this 'village' the sign speaks of. Hopefully that's still in tact." Aerial nodded and followed, with Majik clanking behind him.

* * * * *

After a few hours, Lonewolf and his friends arrive at the village. It was small, with a very old fashioned, medieval look to the buildings. Things seemed to be quite normal here. The town was bussling with activity, as Brigadine was back in the day before it had been ravaged by demons. Merchants selling various foods, people walking around town with their children. However, one thing about it all had Lonewolf unnerved, and that was the way everyone was looking at him and his friends. Disgusted and sometimes frightened glances.

Lonewolf sniffed his armpit and shrugged, "Well, it certainly isn't my stench that's giving me those disgusted looks." Aerial seemed quite uncomfortable by the passerbys, he looked as if he thought they were going to bite him. Majik seemed oblivious to it all as he groaned aloud, dragging his large chests behind him, "I'm thirsty!" He whined. Lonewolf's eyes flickered around for somewhere they could get a drink. His eyes fell upon a small sign that read "Brutus' Tavern". He pointed at the door, "There." He said aloud.

They entered the tavern, which was also bussling with plenty of activity of its own. However, as soon as Lone and his friends entered, everyone turned their attention to them and quickly grew quiet. "Pleased to meet you all as well." Said Lonewolf with a sardonic tone. He sat at the far end of the bar, and was immediately accompanied by a large, greasy, fat, balding man who was cleaning the inside of a glass mug with a dirty old rag. The man spat to the side as he glared at Lone and his friends.

"Um...you must be Brutus..? Yes, well...I'll be having.." The fat man interrupted Lonewolf in mid-sentence, "You'll be havin' NOTHIN'." Lonewolf cocked an eyebrow, looking somewhat angry, "I beg your pardon?" The bartender spat to the side again, "Ya heard me just fine. I don't serve drinks to your kind." Lonewolf looked amused as he raised his eyebrows, "'Our kind'?" The bartender nodded, his gelatinous double-chins merging together with his sticky, stained neck, then parting, "Yep. Outsiders. This ain't no place for tourists, y'know. Croatia is the birthplace for evil, or haven't ya heard?" The bartender grinned roguishly, revealing his brown, crooked teeth.

Lonewolf nodded casually, "Yes, I've heard. That is exactly why I've come here." The bartender seemed taken aback by this. It was Lonewolf's turn to smile roguishly, "You think I came here to 'sight-see', old man? I don't think so. I'm Lonewolf, first mate of the Executioner, commandeered by Captain Fernando de Vega, himself. These here are my crew mates, Aerial and Majik. Together, we plan on forming a guild on this island and restoring peace to your lives." He said proudly.

The bartender began laughing hysterically, along with everyone else who was in the tavern. After the fit of laughter, the bartender regained his composure, "P..peace..? Geh heh heh! Boy, you don't know nothin'! Did'ja notice the castle in the forest yonder? Well, that there is the town of Merilith, belongin' to the demon king, Kain Kenise in unison with his brother, Kratos Kenise. They OWN this land, boy. 'Cept this village...see, they made a truce with us villagers, provided that we don't go sniffin' 'round in their forest and stay here in this village, they won't botha' us none and let us live our lives in peace. We ALREADY have our peace, boy! That's why we don't like you outsiders!" He stuffed a chubby finger into Lonewolf's chest.

"Ya'll are nothin' but trouble! And disturb our peace by bein' all curious-like and goin' sniffin' through that there forest! Go back in your little Executiv-whatcha-ma-callit and get your asses outta our town!!" He poked harder at Lone's chest this time, accompanied by the audible agreements of the rest of the people who were in the tavern.

Lonewolf seemed unscathed by all this, "Seems to me like you guys got a dictatorship on your hands." The bartender seemed baffled, "Dicta-wha?! Boy, you best not be callin' me names!!" Lonewolf rolled his eyes, then continued, "Dictatorship. It's when someone or in this case someTHING takes over your land and forces the people of the land to do what they want by threatening your lives."

The bartender lifted an eyebrow, "...I'm not followin' ya.." Lonewolf sighed heavily, "Why am I not surprised..? Okay, look. Basically, what it means is: You and everyone else around here are being forced against your own will to do what this king guy tells you to do. Got it?" The bartender shook his head. Lonewolf's shoulders slumped as his head drooped down. "...I give up..." The bartender understood that, "Good, now get your asses outta my tavern!"

After getting kicked out of the bar, Lonewolf and the others found themselves outside. "I'm still thirsty..." Whined Majik. "...and hungry too.." chimed Aerial as he rubbed his growling stomach. Lonewolf didn't seem to hear them, "Grr...what the hell is wrong with these people?! I've never seen so much cowardice in my entire life!" His outburst seemed to have startled the nearby people in the streets.

"Whatever! You can all live your lives in fear under your dictator! You don't want my help?! You don't want freedom?! FINE!! To hell with all of you, I'm out of here!" Lonewolf stormed towards a nearby boat shop near the docks, until he felt someone's hand come down on his right shoulder, which he shrugged off immediately, "Not now, guys! I'm going to buy us a boat so we can get off this cursed island!"

A woman's voice called out from behind him, "Wait..! Please wait!" Lonewolf, surprised by this, turned around to regard the young, beautiful woman before him. She had long, curly blonde lockes of hair accompanied with eyes as green as the grassy fields on the island. She wore peasant clothing, a tattered dress with an apron tied around her waist and a stained blouse.

"Please, sir. Don't go. You and your friends must be hungry and weary of your travels. Please...come to my restaurant, the food and drinks will be on the house. I must speak to you about our...'dictator'. And I am very much interested in receiving help from you and your friends." Lonewolf sighed in relief, "Finally...someone who is sane around here."

He smiled mischievously, "Lead the way, Mrs..?" The woman smiled back, "Yolanda. Miss Yolanda Villa." She winked, then turned to head to her restaurant. Lonewolf followed, "I don't know how he always seems to get the girls..?" Mused Aerial as he sighed disdainfully. Majik scoffed, "What the hell're ya talkin about?! She was looking at me when she said 'Miss'! She's totally got the hots for me!" Aerial sighed again and shook his head as they followed Lone and Yolanda.

Chapter 10: Yolanda's Wish

As Lonewolf and the others entered Yolanda's restaurant, they took a moment to take in their surroundings. The restaurant was decorated with many different types of flowers. Everything looked so clean and taken care of. It had a very oriental feel to the interior design, with lots of mahogany tables and chairs and a large window that extended completely around the entire restaurant. Doors were the sliding type, like customary Japanese houses. Now that Lone could think about it, Yolanda herself did look like she had some Asian blood in her.

"Sit. Relax. Take a load off. Or any other saying that you foreigners have." She smiled warmly. "The food will be served shortly." Said Yolanda as she bowed respectfully then headed to the kitchen. Lonewolf sat back in his chair as he put his arms around the back of his head and heaved out a sigh. "Perhaps coming out here wasn't as bad an idea as I had thought."

Majik sat on his chair backwards, resting his forearms on the top of the chair's back, "Whatever. All I heard from that conversation in the tavern was the word 'King'. That means there's riches nearby, and that's all that concerns me." Aerial shook his head, "Don't you think of anything else other then treasure?" Majik thought about it for a moment, then nodded, "Yeah...women." He smiled widely.

Lonewolf opened his eyes and placed his elbows on his laps as he leaned forward, "Oh yeah...sure Majik. Like you've actually HAD any women in your life." He chuckled with Aerial. Majik's eyebrows furrowed as he looked away from the two, "...that was a low-blow, man..." Lonewolf faked a sad face, "Awww, did I hurt wittle Majik-wajik's feewings?" Majik grit his teeth, "You're an a*****e!" He cried out. Lonewolf smirked as he placed his hands behind his head again, "Touchy-touchy. You need to learn how to relax, kid. I'm only messin' with ya." Majik looked away again, "Hmph!"

After a few minutes, Yolanda returned with three dishes of sushi and three drinks of red whine. Majik looked at the sushi as if it was a live animal, "What...is it?" Yolanda smiled, "Sushi." She said happily as she took a seat beside Lonewolf. Majik just stared at the sushi, "...sushi..?" Yolanda giggled, "It's raw fish wrapped with seaweed and rice." Majik's face seemed to flush a light greenish color. "...Excuse me..." He stood up and ran to the nearest bathroom.

Lonewolf shoved a slice of the sushi into his mouth with the provided pair of chopsticks and took a swig of his whine to flush it down without hesitation. He had eaten this type of food before during his travels with Cpt. Vega before the captain recruited Majik or Aerial, in the far eastern land of Japan. "Please excuse Majik. He had a run-in with raw fish back in the day which gave him food poisoning. Now, every time someone mentions the words ' raw fish' he pukes." He stated simply as he enjoyed his meal. "Oh...I'm sorry.." Said Yolanda, who seemed genuinely concerned for Majik. "No worries. He'll be fine." Assured Lone as he stuffed another sushi roll in his mouth. After they had finished and after Majik had regained his health, Yolanda decided to get down to business.

"I followed you and your friends as soon as you entered town. I could tell you were outsiders, so I decided to spy on you guys a little to get an idea as to why you are here." Lonewolf nodded, "Fair enough. I would've done the same." Yolanda smiled, then got serious again, "I overheard your conversation with Brutus. And you were right...we are under this 'dictatorship' you speak of. Kain and Kratos rule our lives. We are forced to remain confined within this village and have a set curfew. They take all of our hard earned money and say it's for 'taxes'. I feel like a slave, yet everyone in town is content with all this. In truth I think you are right, they are all afraid. Afraid of what Kain and Kratos might do to us if we rebel. As you've already noticed, we are weak people who don't stand a chance against Kain's demon army. That's why we need people like you and your friends. Strong people who can protect us."

Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "How can you tell we are strong?" Yolanda smiled warmly, "I can see it in your eyes and in the way you carry yourself. You have the intimidating eyes of a wild wolf. It was wise of your parents to so aptly name you 'Lonewolf'." Lonewolf shook his head, "I never had any parents. I was named by my teacher, Locke. He taught me in the ways of dark sorcery."

Yolanda's eyes widened with delight, "You are a dark sorcerer?!" Lonewolf nodded, "Oh, I have dreamt about this!" She seemed so excited she was barely able to speak. "Dreamt of this? What are you talking about?" Lonewolf seemed completely lost. Yolanda struggled to regain her composure, then began to speak.

"For many years, I have prayed to God to make the demons on this island disappear. No longer then a year or so ago, I had a dream about a wolf that can use magic. The wolf stood atop a hill, overlooking my village. Alone at first, but then one by one, more wolves began to stand next to the one wolf. They all just stood there, looking down upon my village. Keeping it safe." Tears began to well up in Yolanda's eyes, "Oh, I'm sorry....I'm just really hoping that you are that wolf in my dream."

Lonewolf seemed deeply moved by Yolanda's dream and also his confidence was rejuvenated, "Perhaps I am, Yolanda. Perhaps I am." He smiled warmly and patted her on the shoulder, then pulled out a small cloth from his pocket and handed it to her. She wiped away her tears, "Oh, please sir, Lonewolf. Please make my dream come true." Lonewolf nodded. "I promise." He stated with true meaning in his tone. Yolanda broke down into tears and hugged Lonewolf tightly.

After a few moments she released from Lonewolf's arms, "I heard you wanted to create a guild?" She said, quickly changing the subject. Lonewolf nodded, "Yes. Is there any way you can help me with that?" Yolanda nodded and smiled as she wiped her tears away, "Mmm-hmm! I know someone in town who can dispatch messages all around the world for me. All I need to do is advertise this guild of yours, and you'll have plenty of members in no time."

Lonewolf smiled widely, "That's great!" His smile faded, "However, there's one small problem..." Yolanda tilted her head to the side, "What's that?" Lonewolf scratched the back of his head, "I...don't exactly HAVE a guild headquarters..." Yolanda put her hand to her chin and thought about it for a moment, "Hmm....I'll see what I can do." She nodded, "In the meantime, I suggest you and your friends find a place to stay. Red Rose Inn is the best place around here to stay at. Plus, I'm friends with the owner so I'll put in a good word for you and hopefully she'll let you guys stay there for free."

Lonewolf nodded and stood up from the restaurant table, accompanied by Aerial and Majik who stood up as well. He took Yolanda's hand in his and kissed the top of it gently, "You've done so much for me. I am eternally grateful for your help, Yolanda." Yolanda waved it off, "Don't worry, you'll pay me back once you set this village free from its so-called 'King'." Lonewolf nodded and smiled, then left the restaurant with his friends.

Chapter 11: Bogey Baglebottom

"Lone...help me, Lone...!" A familiar voice could be heard within the darkness. "What..? Stephanie?!" Lonewolf turned around, only to see a tall, broad shouldered man with long, emaculate dark purple hair, laughing uncontrollably. The man was wearing gold armor that emphasized his broad physique. He grabbbed Lonewolf by the throat and carried him up over himself. "There is nothing you can do for her now 'Mr. Hero'! She is MINE!" The man laughed louder and louder as he squeezed tighter on Lonewolf's throat...he couldn't breathe. His life was fading...fading....fading....

"MORTAMUS!!!" Lonewolf woke up suddenly as he gasped for air. "A...a dream..?" He felt his forehead. He hadn't thought about Stephanie for years, but now that he had that dream, a sudden flash of memories hit him. He remembered the dream Stephanie had told him about. The dream about Mortamus clad in gold armor choking Lone to death atop a cliff, then dropping him. But...why the plea for help..? What was going on back in Brigadine? Is Stephanie ok? Lonewolf decided to write her a letter.

He stood up from the rickety old bed he was sleeping in and opened up the shutters, letting the morning light into the room. Majik stirred in the bed across from his, "Close the damn shutters.." He moaned loudly underneath his sheets. Aerial remained sleeping soundly in the bed on the right of Majik's bed. Lonewolf ignored Magik's complaint and grabbed a nearby stool and sat beside his night table. He pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from one of the drawers and began to write:

Dear Stephanie,

It's been awhile. So much has changed for me ever since we broke up. I became a pirate and went on many adventures alongside Captain Fernando De Vega's crew. However, I put the pirate life behind me and currently trying to start my own guild here in Croatia. Things have been going fairly well, and I think I will be able to start my own guild soon. Anyway enough about me, how are you doing? How have things been with your brother Mortamus? Is Rakku doing better? Forgive me if it seems like I'm prying, but I can't help but wonder about you. In truth, I'm a little worried about you. I just want to know if you are doing ok. Please write back.

~ Lonewolf

Lonewolf folded the letter and placed it in an envelope, then sealed it with hot wax. He placed the envelope in his vest pocket as he got dressed in his normal clothes. A white frilly shirt with a black, sleeveless vest. Fingerless, leather gloves, blue slacks, with black knee-high boots. He also wore a silver locket around his neck that contained a picture of Stephanie.

He wasn't sure why he always wore it, he was already over Stephanie. Yet he had been wearing that very same locket for years, ever since it was given to him by Stephanie herself as an engagement present. He figured he was just partial to the beauty of the locket itself. Someday, he may change the picture in the locket to someone he actually cared about, but for the time being he wears it just so that his neck doesn't feel naked. He strapped on his leather pirate's belt, complete with a holster to hold the pistol that Vega had given him. Then strapped on his sheath diagonally across from his torso, holding his trusty rapier.

A sudden "Boom" caught Lonewolf's attention as it came from outside the window. Majik stirred in his bed again, "Damnit Aerial...stop farting..." He mumbled incoherently as he quickly went back to snoring. Lonewolf peeked through the shutters, only to see smoke billowing from the windows of a small cottage right across from the inn he and his friends were staying at. "Hmm.." He turned andmade his way down the stairs to the first floor.

"Good Morning, sir Lonewolf!" Rose, the innkeeper of the Red Rose Inn, smiled warmly as Lonewolf made his way down the stairs. She was certainly a sight for sore eyes, with long, red, curly hair and beautifully bright blue eyes. Lonewolf returned her smile and nodded, "Morning, Rose. Thank you for letting my friends and I stay the night here for free." Rose waved it off, "Stay heah as long as ya like, sugah. I'm honored to have our 'future savior' stay heah at mah very own inn." She winked at Lone, sending shivers down his spine. Lonewolf smiled as he blushed a light reddish color, "Thank you, ma'am." He decided to change the subject, "Did you hear that loud 'Boom' just now?"

Rose nodded, "Yep. That was lil' ol' Bogey, workin' on God-know's-what." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "Bogey..?" Rose nodded again, "Yessum. Bogey Baglebottom. He's the self-proclaimed inventah 'round these parts." Lonewolf scratched at his chin contemplatively, "Inventor, huh..?" Rose poored some water from a pitcher into her rose plants that were located throughout the inn. "That's what ah said, sugah. Inventah. Don't pay lil' ol' Bogey no mind though. He's a lil' coo-coo." Lonewolf smiled despite himself. "I see. Well thank you for the information, Rose, and thanks again for letting us stay here for free." Lonewolf waved goodbye and headed for the door. Rose waved to him as he left, "Anytime, sugah!"

Lonewolf made his way across the street to the smoking house. He knocked twice on the door, but before he could get in the second knock, the door fell off its hinges and onto the floor within the house. Lonewolf just stood there blinking, completely dumbfounded with what just happened. "What?! Who's there?! If it's another one of those confounded thieves I swear I will rip your gizzards out!" A little, round man that reached no higher then Lonewolf's waist, came out from all the smoke. He was completely charred with black and waddled with dignity as he held up a little kitchen knife.

"Well?! Who are you, boy? Answer me, or I'll holler for the authorities!" Lonewolf thought about that for a second...there were no authorities in this town. Either this little man was bluffing or he's delusional. "Take it easy, little guy. I.." The little man scoffed with outrage, "'Little guy'?! How DARE you! Come here so I can stick you!" The man waddled over towards Lonewolf's legs, swinging his kitchen knife wildly.

"Woah there, little fella." Lonewolf caught the little man by the head, keeping him a safe distance away from his legs, "Calm down. I was just checking to see if whoever lived here was ok." The little man pushed off of Lone's hand, "Well, I'm fine! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some cleaning up to do..." He turned away from Lonewolf and stormed off back into the smoke. "I can help, if you like." Lonewolf cried out. "Nonsense! I don't need your help, now be gone with you!" The little man's voice can be heard within the thick smoke.

Lonewolf heaved out a sigh, then held out his right palm. "As it was." He stated. Everything in the house that was broken from the explosion suddenly went into rewind, fixing itself. The smoke even went back to where it came from, eventually dissipating completely. The blackened midget could be seen now, standing in front of a strange black, metallic device that was hooked up over of the fireplace. The little man was completely dumbfounded by what he had just seen.

He slowly turned his wide eyes to regard Lonewolf, then suddenly tripped over himself in fear, "DEMON!!" He cried out in horror, "DEMON IN MY HOUSE!!! AAACK!!" He crawled away from Lonewolf as quickly as he could and ran into the nearest closet, shutting the door behind him. Lonewolf rolled his eyes and walked over to the closet door. He opened it, only to see a small man curled up into a little shaking ball. "I'm not a demon." Stated Lonewolf simply, as he walked away from the closet, leaving the door open. He had just realized how low the ceiling was as he was forced to hunch over as he walked in the house.

"Poppy-c**k!" The little man waddled out from the closet, pointing at Lonewolf accusatingly, "Only demons can use such magic!" Lonewolf tried to look for a place to sit, but the chairs and couches were far too little for him to sit in, so he just sat on the floor by the door. "Do I look like a demon, old man?" The little man snorted derisively, "Don't think I was born yesterday, boy! Demons have human forms." He pointed at Lonewolf again with a chubby little finger, "Be gone from my house, demon!" Lonewolf rolled his eyes. However, he never knew demons could have human forms. That was certainly a first for him, and a useful bit of information indeed.

He turned his attention to the black little contraption above the fireplace. "What's that thing?" He asked, changing the subject. "And why did it blow up?" The little man was happy to explain what the contraption was, completely forgetting about his accusations of Lonewolf being a demon, "That 'thing' is called a 'Heater'." Lonewolf cocked an eyebrow, "Heater?" The little man nodded, his long, thin strands of messy grey hair bobbing to and fro as he did, "Yes. It's my latest invention! See, it sucks up the heat from the fireplace, then spreads the warmth of the fireplace's flames throughout the house."

The little man pointed at the various black metallic contraptions scattered on the ceilings of the different rooms. "But...there was only one problem. Along with the warmth, it was also spreading smoke throughout the house. The smoke clogged up the pipe lines of the heater, eventually causing an internal combustion. That was the loud, 'Boom' noise you might've heard earlier."

Lonewolf nodded, "Ahh, I see. That's an interesting idea, to spread warmth from the fireplace throughout the house rather then just in the room with the fireplace." The little man smiled broadly, "It's genius isn't it?!" Lonewolf nodded in approval, "Quite. However...what about the summer? When it's blazing hot. Nobody will want to use a heater during that time...unless..." The little man's eyes opened widely with wonder, "...unless I invent something that cools your house rather then heating it! That's brilliant! But...where am I going to find a fireplace that gives off coldness rather then warmth..?"

Lonewolf patted the little man on his back, "You'll figure it out eventually." He stated reassuringly. The little man smiled, certainly amused by his new guest, "My name is Bogey Baglebottom. I'm the inventor of Cliffside Village." He puffed up his fat little chest and sucked in his tummy. "The name's Lonewolf. I'm the former first mate of the Executioner, and a master of dark sorcery. I've come here with two of my crew mates in hopes of creating my own guild to recruit young heroes to help restore peace to this island."

Bogey seemed fascinated by Lonewolf's introduction, "Wow...that's quite an agenda, young man. Executioner..? Wasn't that the ship Cpt. Fernando De Vega owned?" Lonewolf nodded. "Impressive. Of all the pirates, Cpt. Vega was certainly the most honorable. So you are a pirate AND a dark sorcerer? Interesting combination. However, somehow I don't believe 'Lonewolf' is your real name.." That last sentence was emphasized with a bit of sarcasm.

Lonewolf smiled ernestly, "I actually don't know my real name. I was an orphan and was raised by my teacher, Locke, who taught me in the ways of magic. He just called me Lonewolf and the name just sorta stuck." Bogey seemed somewhat saddened by that, "Oh...I'm sorry, I didn't know." Lonewolf shrugged, "It's ok, I don't mind."

"So you're planning on creating a guild, you say?" Asked Bogey, changing the subject. Lonewolf nodded, "Yes. I had made a promise to Yolanda to free you people from Kain and Kratos' tyranny, but I will need an army of my own in order to defeat their army." Bogey smiled at the mention of Yolanda, "Ahh, Yolanda? She's quite the sweet young lady, isn't she? Yes, I agree. You will definately need help against Kain and Kratos' army. They have ruled this island for many years, and their power only grows stronger. As well as their greed. It won't be long before they break the truce and attack the people of Cliffside Village."

Lonewolf nodded, "And that is what I'm here for. To stop that from happening." Bogey walked behind the kitchen and grabbed two wooden cups and a pitcher from the cupboards, "Well you couldn't have come at a better time." He stated simply as he walked back to the living room and handed the small cup of water to Lone, then sat on one of his couches as he poored himself a drink and placed the pitcher on the small table located within the middle of the living room. "What do you mean?" Asked Lonewolf as he took a sip of the water.

Bogey took a sip of his own cup, "Well...apparently there have been a lot of problems going on in Merilith. It seems that Kratos' son, Kaze, had betrayed him and left the castle. He currently has his hands full hunting his own son down at the moment. So you pretty much can get away with anything outside the village's perimeters right now without getting ambushed by a band of demons." Lonewolf looked suspicious, "What about Kain? Wouldn't he still signal for an attack?"

Bogey shook his head as he finished his cup of water, "No. You don't need to fear Kain much. We don't hear much from him. He's just a man of the 'shadows' so to speak, like he doesn't really care about anything it seems. Kratos is the one you need to watch out for. He's a ruthless b*****d, that one. Come to think of it, it seems as though everything that has happened on this island and to this village is all because of Kratos. Almost like Kratos is the one who's the king, rather then his brother Kain. If ya ask me, I suspect 'foul play'." Lonewolf tilted his head to the side, "Foul play?"

Bogey nodded, "Yes. I'm willing to bet all of my inventions and blue prints that Kratos has Kain brainwashed somehow..." Lonewolf seemed amused, "Brainwashed...interesting." Bogey shrugged, "But what do I know? I'm just a senile old man, who can't seem to get his damned inventions to work." He throws his cup into the fireplace, engulfing it in flames.

"I have a favor to ask." Lonewolf said as he pulled out the letter to Stephanie from his vest pocket. "I wrote this letter, but Have no way of sending it. Do you know where I can send it?" Bogey smiled broadly as he stood up from his seat, "My boy, you've come to the right place! Follow me." Lonewolf stood up, but stayed hunched over as he followed Bogey through his hallway, passing various framed photographs of what looked like family photos and pictures of Bogey standing beside various strange inventions that most likely have broken down or backfired on him.

At the end of the hallway, there was a stool with a bird cage on it. Inside the bird cage was a pidgeon, cooing softly as they approched. Bogey unhinges the cage and pulls out the pidgeon. "Meet Sally, my messenger pidgeon. She can send letters to anyone you like throughout the world. Here.." He grabbed Lone's letter and tied it to the pidgeon's leg with some string. "Where do you want this letter to go?" He asked. "Brigadine. To the Moon Light Inn." Bogey whispers some stuff to the pidgeon, then they head for the front door.

Sally suddenly flies off of Bogey's arm and into the air. "There ya go. Give her a couple of weeks and your message will be sent." He said smiling. Lonewolf seemed unnerved as he stared up into the sky, "How are you so certain that the message will get to its destination?" Bogey winked at Lone, "Oh it will." Lonewolf wasn't very convinced that a mindless bird was going to fly all the way to Brigadine and deliver his message to the right person, but there was nothing he could do now, so he let it go.

Suddenly, Yolanda jogged up to Lonewolf and Bogey in front of Bogey's front door. "Sir Lonewolf! I pray that you had a good night's sleep?" Lonewolf nodded and smiled warmly, "Yes. Rose was very nice and let us stay the night for free, thank you for your help." Yolanda smiled at the mention of Rose letting Lone and his friends stay for free, "That's wonderful! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I have some good news too!" Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "What's that?" Yolanda smiled at Lonewolf, "I found a guild headquarters for you!"

Lonewolf smiled broadly as his eyes grew wide with excitement, "Really?! Wow!! Where is it?!" Yolanda smiled back, "It's a ruined old cabin, out in the middle of the plains between the forest and this village. It must've been the remains of an older guild, because it's so huge. It's two stories high, and has hundreds of rooms. It also has another building connected to the side of it that looks to be a great place to spar and train in. It even has a small courtyard, located just under the second story balcony. Ofcourse, everything is in ruins, but it can all be repaired in due time."

Lonewolf could barely contain his excitement, "Sounds great! When can we go see it?" Yolanda smiled warmly, "I can show you it now, if you wish." Lonewolf nodded and turned to Bogey to shake his hand, "It was a pleasure meeting you, Bogey." Bogey shook Lone's hand and smiled, "Pleasure was all mine, sir Lonewolf."

Just as they were about to leave, Yolanda turned back around to regard Bogey, "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Have you dispatched the advertisements for Lonewolf's guild, Bogey?" Bogey gave Yolanda the "OK" sign with his hand, "It's been all taken care of." He stated with a smile. Lonewolf's eyes widened with surprise, "Wait.." he looked at Yolanda, "Bogey is the friend you were talking about yesterday?!" Yolanda nodded, "Yep. He's a great guy isn't he?" She took the dumbfounded Lonewolf by the hand and pulled him along.

Chapter 12: Lonewolf's Dragoons

Dear Journal,

Seeing as how this is my first ever journal entry in the guild, I suppose I should start by explaining how I got here. About 1 year or so back, I had just arrived to Croatia via the Executioner, comandeered by Cpt. Fernando De Vega. I came onto land with two of my crewmates, an impulsive treasure-obsessed teenager named Majik, and a timid and gentle man named Aerial. Together, we decided to check out the nearest village. There, we met various interesting individuals such as: Yolanda, an oriental mixed with hispanic woman who helped us find this building to start this guild. Rose, the beautiful southern belle who owns the Red Rose Inn and let us stay there for free until we got this guild started, and last but not least, the old, bumbling little man named Bogey Baglebottom, who later helped us soup up the guild with all sorts of gadgets, such as "air conditioning" which is the process of spreading cool air throughout the entire building during the hot weather, and the "refridgerator" which cools beverages and food, preserving them for the longest time, as well as other interesting gadgets. As for the guild itself, well, after Yolanda had found it, Bogey, myself and my crewmates all got together and helped restore the building to its natural state, ofcourse we added a few extra things however. The guild has two stories; the bottom floor consists of the lounge, where we have a fireplace, instruments, eisels and all sorts of other types of entertainment as well as a bar and a vast array of books on various subjects. The bottom floor also consists of the first floor dormitories, where we have plenty of bedrooms for members of the guild and three bathrooms. As for the the second floor, it only contains more dormitories, bathrooms, and my office, where I have an "intercom", another invention of Bogey's that allows me to spread my voice throughout the guild, just in case I had to announce something publicly. My office also contains a very large and beautiful balcony which I adore emencely. The balcony overlooks our guild's courtyard, which does not look like much for the time being, but with a little help from Rose, we had planted various flowers and other plants that will grow in due time. On the east side of the guild building, there is another rather large building connected to it. That building we use as a dojo to help members hone in on their natural skills in combat. As for the members of the guild, well...things have been rather slow, but we are slowly increasing in size. We have recruited quite a few members into the guild, but the members who are note-worthy so far are:

Majik Mason- Yes, the very same Majik I had spoken of earlier in this entry. I never knew the kid had it in him, but with a little help from yours truly, he has mastered the elemental power of the flame. Not long after we started this guild, I had found magic potential coming from Majik and began training him immediately. He had learned a lot over the few months I have trained him, however his impulsive nature still gets the best of him. If only the kid would learn how to be patient and learn how to use his head, he'd be quite the formidable opponent indeed. Anyway, he is also skilled in using his great sword, the very same sword he always used back when we were pirates. It's amazing how he's able to swing that thing around with such expertice...it's about twice his size. Majik has always been a pretty tough opponent, however his impulsiveness is his weakness.

Pana Sule - a mysterious blue-haired woman, who I can tell holds many secrets. She has incredible power and uses dark sorcery as well, only her spells seem to be quite lethal and ruthless. She is also skilled in the standard long sword, and can hold her own in a sword fight. Who knows where this strange young woman comes from.

Kamikalo Chansue - a young, blonde, teenaged girl who has mastered the power of ki. She can shoot very strong blasts of focused-energy from her palms and is a master of various forms of martial arts. She hails from the eastern lands, and has traveled all the way to Croatia, just to be apart of my guild and help thwart the evil on this land.

"Juggalo" Josh Jackson - The artistic alcoholic. When he's not drinking, he's usually painting a beautiful portrait of something. Other then that however, he is also quite the gunman. Rifles, pistols, cannons, you name it, he can shoot it and shoot it well. Though his weakness lies in melee/unarmed combat. He may be a hell of a formidable opponent in a gun fight, but once you get close it's all over.

That pretty much sums up my list of note-worthy members. Things got a little hectic when we first started this guild. We have been getting attacked by wild dragons that come from the mountains to the north on a regular basis. I don't quite understand why we are being attacked by them. Perhaps this guild is within their territory? Whatever the case, it feels like I'm back on the Executioner again, wiping out the infestation of rats...ofcourse, I'm dealing with much larger rats now. Though I cannot complain. While fighting off the daily dose of over-sized lizards with my guild's warriors, I have come up with the perfect name for the guild:

"Lonewolf's Dragoons"

I know what you're thinking. That it's pretty arrogant of me to have my name in the title of the guild, but you have to admit...it sounds pretty catchy. Anyway, I should get going and tend to my daily duties....well actually, I'm just going to go downstairs to get myself a drink, heh. It was nice to meet you, Journal, and I'm sure I'll be filling out more of your pages in the near future. Until then, Adieu.

Chapter 13: The Mysterious White-Haired Warrior

Lonewolf walked down the stairs, leading him to the first floor. He could see various members walking about and relaxing in the lounge. He smiled at how his guild has grown over the past few months, then made his way over to the bar. "Hey Josh." Lonewolf nodded to the drunken man who was sitting on the stool beside him. He had long, dark purple hair, darker then Mortamus', and was clad in black clothing complete with a black trenchcoat. He had dark brown eyes, which were flicking about in his drunken haze. "Hello mister Lawnwulf..!" Lonewolf shook his head and turned his attention to the bartender. "I'll have some rum, please." Aerial turned around and handed Lone his drink, "Rum comin' right up. Here you go, buddy." Lonewolf grabbed the glass and saluted Aerial, "Thanks." He took a sip of it.

A sudden knock at the front door, not far from the bar, caught Lonewolf's attention. "Wonder who that could be?" Said Aerial, genuinely curious. Lonewolf got up from the stool he was sitting on as he released the safety strap from his holster, just in case. He slowly began opening the door...once the door was fully opened, the light from outside outlined the man standing on the guild's porch.

He was about Lonewolf's height, wearing a tight fitting grey tank top (or at least it's a tank top now, considering the sleeves seemed to be ripped off), black leather slacks with black leather boots, and black leather gloves. The only things about the man that seemed the most peculiar were his cloudy-white long strands of hair that reached to his waist, his pale skin and his eyes. His eyes were a deep crimson red color, Lonewolf had never seen that eye-color on a human before in his entire life. This man seemed to pulse a dark, menacing aura as he stood there smirking at Lonewolf.

"Can I...help you..?" Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, not moving his hand from his gun holster. The man took one hand out from his pockets and extended it, "The name's Hajimate, but you can call me Haj. I've come here to join this guild. May I speak with sir Lonewolf?" Lonewolf wasn't buying the friendly act at all. He glanced at the man's extended hand, ignored it, then glanced back at the man's crimson eyes suspiciously, "That would be me." He stated flatly, secretly ready to defend himself if the man were to attack him.

Hajimate looked down at his empty hand, then put it back in his pocket, "Ah, so you're Lonewolf huh? I figured you'd be a litlle...well...more intimidating." He smirked roguishly. He stepped pass Lonewolf, without his permission, as he looked around the interior of the guild, "This place is not bad." He shrugged and turned around to regard Lonewolf with a nonchalant look, "It'll do."

Lonewolf was flabbergasted by the man's rudeness, "'It'll do'?! Just who the hell do you think you are?!" Hajimate shrugged, "I already told you. Hajimate." He said calmly, hands still in his pockets. Lonewolf glared at Hajimate suspiciously, "Don't you have a last name?" Hajimate smiled as his eyebrows furrowed, "Do you?" He replied. Lonewolf was tongue-tied. He didn't know what to say to that. "Very well then. Come with me, I will show you where you will be staying." Lonewolf began to walk down the hallway.

After passing a few doors, Lonewolf stops in front of one and turns the handle. He opens the door, revealing to Hajimate the interior of his dormitory. Hajimate glanced inside, but quickly glanced away in disgust. "What is it?" Asked Lone, somewhat offended by Hajimate's reaction. Hajimate lifted an eyebrow, "Um...is it ok if I look for my own room..?" Lonewolf scoffed at that request, "All the rooms look the same!" He said, still laughing to himself. Hajimate wasn't amused by Lonewolf's laughter.

He turned and walked towards the door directly underneath the stairs that lead to the second floor. He put his hand on the handle, "Wait, that's the storage room!" Lonewolf chimed in from behind as Hajimate opened the door. The room was dank and dusty and was even missing a lot of floor boards, revealing the grass-less earth. Lonewolf saw Hajimate's face light up with satisfaction, "You can't possibly be serious..?" Hajimate smiled widely, then looked back at Lonewolf and nodded, "I'll take this one!"

After they moved all the storage from the room under the stairs, Lonewolf wiped the sweat off his brow with his forearm. "Alright. Looks like everything here is ready for you to move in." He nodded at Hajimate, who nodded back. "I'll get my things." He stated as he turned and made his way back out the front door of the guild. Lonewolf took off his black leather vest and walked back to the lounge.

He tossed his vest on top of the bar table and took a seat on the same stool he was sitting in before and picked up his drink which was warm now from sitting so long in room temperature. He grimaced after taking a sip, then pushed the glass away. "So who is this guy anyway?" Asked Aerial as he grabbed the glass of rum Lone just pushed and placed it in the sink. "I don't know...but he gives me the creeps. Oh, I'll have a glass of that 'ice' in water that Bogey thought of." Aerial nodded, "Comin' right up!" He made his way to the refridgerator to grab some ice.

Just then, Hajimate came through the front door holding a large barrel with lots of bags and pouches stacked on top of it, "Well?!" He looked at Lone in disbelief, "Aren't you going to help me?!" He almost fell over after saying that, then walked pass him and to his room. Lonewolf was confused by that request, then got up to look outside the front door.

There was a two-horse wagon sitting outside with all sorts of equipment and bags stacked in the back. Lonewolf nearly feinted at the sight. Hajimate came up from behind Lone and patted him on the back as he ran up to his wagon, "Come on. I packed light, so it won't take very long." Lonewolf just stared at Hajimate with his jaw still hanging down. "....." He reluctantly began to help.

After a few hours, they had finally moved everything into Hajimate's room, cramping it up so tight that there was barely any room to walk. "Um...I think you packed a little too much..." Stated Lone as he tried to look over all of the stacked equipment. Hajimate shrugged, "The room is just too small." He grabbed a book from one of the many stacks he had and began flipping through the pages. After a few moments he stopped on a page and smiled, "Here it is." Lonewolf sidled over beside Hajimate as he looked over his shoulder at the book, "Here...what..is?"

Hajimate took a step forward into the middle of his room and motioned with his hands in a peculiar fashion, then loudly stated: "Pax Thanon, Gigantus Spacius!" Suddenly, the room seemed to shrink slightly, then with a sudden burst, extend widely until the room was about 3 times its original size. This alarmed Lone as he thought the room had crushed the surrounding rooms. He quickly ran next door and opened the door to the room beside it, expecting to see it completely caved in. However, to his surprise, everything in the room was perfectly normal. "Um...?" Lonewolf closed the door and walked back into Hajimate's room, again, the size of the room made Lone's heart skip a beat.

Hajimate smiled at Lonewolf's reaction, "Don't worry. The spell only extended the room within this particular space. Think of it as an illusion that is real. Kinda hard to explain really..." Hajimate scratched the back of his head. Lonewolf's head was spinning, he tried to focus on Hajimate, "What kind of magic was that?" He croaked out. Hajimate held up the book, "Wizardry. I'm a master of wickan magick and alchemy-based spells. I also have a few other tricks up my sleeve..."

Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed suspiciously, "I couldn't help, but notice your unnatural hair color, skin color and eyes. What are you...albino?" Hajimate burst into laughter. He nearly fell over as he laughed, "Uh, yeah.." He said through laughter, "You can say that..." Lonewolf just lifted an eyebrow. "Um...very well. Enjoy your stay here at the guild, feel free to roam the premisice. The rules of conduct are placed on the wall above the fireplace in the lounge." He nodded his head, "Pleasure to have you amongst our ranks, Mr. Hajmate. If you'll excuse me." Lonewolf walked out of Hajimate's room, shutting the door behind him.

"Geez." Thought Lonewolf, "What a weirdo..." He made his way back up the stairs to his office.

Chapter 14: Sparring

"Furious Flame!" Majik summoned up a fireball in his right palm and hucked it at Lonewolf. "Hand of Pyro!" Lonewolf did the same, only he aimed for Majik's fireball, negating it on impact. He stood there with a cocky smile, rapier hanging loosely from his left hand at his side as he awaited Majik's attack. "It'll take more then that to get me, kid." Majik smiled back, "Oh yeah? How about THIS!" He leaped into the air, flipping once then coming down on Lonewolf with a vertical downward slash, using his large greatsword. Lonewolf just stood there, looking up as Majik neared him, then at the last minute he hopped to the right, spun around and elbowed Majik right in between his eyes with his right elbow, causing Majik to flop down hard onto the ground on his back. Lonewolf held his rapier's point at Majik's neck. "You need to stop being so hasty with your attacks, kid. You're too impatient and you keep trying to go straight for the finishing blow. Learn to master your emotions before you challenge me to a duel again." He moved his sword away from his neck and held out his right hand to help Majik up off the ground. He patted him on the back as Majik just walked away with his head lowered in shame and humiliation, dragging his large sword behind him as he entered through the door that lead back to the guild's lounge.

As Lone began to head back to the lounge himself, he noticed a faint clapping sound coming from behind him. He turned around only to see the white-haired newcomer, Hajimate, standing in a dark corner as he clapped mockingly. "Bravo....bravo....that has got to be one of the most...pitiful fights I have ever seen in my entire life." Lonewolf cocked an eyebrow, "You think you can do better?" Hajimate kicked off the wall he was leaning on, "I know I can do better." Lonewolf nodded, "Very well then, let's see what you've got." Lonewolf held up his rapier with one hand in a fighting stance that resembled a fencer's fighting stance. Hajimate pulled out his hands from his pockets, cracked his knuckles, then held out his right hand horizontally to the side. A rather large sword handle appeared in it. He held the handle against a nearby steel support beam that holds the roof in place, then slowly pulled away from it. The handle seemed to magically create a sword blade made of the same substance as the support beam as Hajimate retracted the blade completely from the beam. The sword was slightly larger then Majik's, yet the white-haired warrior wielded it as if it were a short sword. He got into fighting stance as he held the blade vertically in front of himself with two hands. "Gladly." He stated in response to Lonewolf.

"Hand of Pyro!" Lonewolf held out his right palm and released a small fireball projectile from it. Hajmiate scoffed as he swat the pitiful attack aside with his greatsword, "Pathetic...what..?!" It had turned out that the attack was merely a diversion as Lonewolf was now right in front of him. Lone went for a right hook, getting Hajimate right across the face. As he got hit he burst into laughter, "HAHAHAHA!! YES! IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I FELT PAIN! BRING IT ON!!" He went with the momentum from Lonewolf's punch and spun back around with a horizontal slash aimed for Lonewolf's neck. Lonewolf barely dodged the attack as he bent over backwards to duck it, the blade swooping right over the botttom of his chin. Apparently Hajimate was serious because that would've been a killing blow. Not taking any chances, as Lonewolf stood back up straight he summoned the Sword of The Fallen Devil in his right two fingers. He went for a double diagonal slash with both the magical blade and his rapier aimed for Hajimate's mid-section. Hajimate blocked the attack with his sword, "Ahh, a dual-wielder eh? Not bad sir, Lonewolf. Not bad at all." Knowing that Lone had his greatsword pinned in between both of his blades, Hajimate released his sword's handle and hopped back a step as he summoned two black balls of energy, one above each open palm that faced upward. "Malsvir Svent!" Black magical arrows began shooting from each ball as they all sailed at Lonewolf from various angles.

Lonewolf let Hajimate's greatsword drop to the ground then began to chop and slice at the oncoming arrows. It was almost like a dance as he gracefully dodged, duck and spun around each arrow. Hajimate just gufawed with laughter, it was quite obvious that all of this was amusing him greatly. Lonewolf had enough of this. He dissipated his magical blade and held out his right palm, "Sphere of Destruction!!" A dark purple energy ball formed from inside Lonewolf's palm, then suddenly burst out from it and headed straight at Hajimate. Hajimate only seemed amused as he quickly dissipated the two black energy balls from above his palms and summoned a red energy wall in front of himself. "Arcaniss Pok!!" The red energy wall seemed to absorb, Lonewolf's attack, formed into the same shape as Lonewolf's projectile and suddenly burst back at him. "What the..?!" Completely taken off gaurd by the surprising attack, Lonewolf gets blown away by his own spell. "Oof!!" He spiraled through the air backwards as he dropped his rapier. He was caught suddenly in mid-air...he looked down only to see Hajimate grinning back at him as he held Lonewolf by the throat. "Now to finish you..." He said malevolently as he chucked Lone through the air as if he were a baseball. As Lone flew in mid-air, Hajimate shot two black energy balls at Lonewolf's body. The energy balls spiraled side to side as they zoomed for the helpless Lonewolf.

Suddenly, Lonewolf crossed his forearms together in a "X" formation as he yelled out the incantations, "Shield of Immunity!!" A green barrier surrounded his entire body, blocking Hajimate's attack. He flipped through the air and landed on his feet as he and Hajimate just stood there looking at each other. Both of them shaking with adrenaline and panting with exhaustion. "Y...you're pretty good.." Said Hajimate. "You're...not bad...yourself.." Said Lonewolf. "You give up yet..?" Asked Hajimate. Lonewolf hesitated for a moment, then slowly shook his head, "Never." He quick drawed his pistol at his holster and fired a shot at Hajimate, tagging him right on his left shoulder. Lonewolf took advantage of this oportunity to run at his opponent. "Why you..!" Hajimate grabbed at his left shoulder, as he winced at the pain. As Lone ran towards him, he tried to backhand him with his right fist. Lonewolf easily ducked the wreckless attack and punched Hajimate in the gut with his right fist, opened his right palm and shot a dark purple blast at point-blank range. The blast blew both men away from each other. Hajimate slammed into the wall behind him then falling stomache first onto the ground, Lonewolf flying through the air for a moment then skidding across the floor on his back.

Both men couldn't get up.

Suddenly, Hajimate began to laugh. A low chuckle at first, then into a roaring hilarity. Lonewolf couldn't help, but laugh with him himself. Hajimate slowly pushed himself to a sitting position, "HAHAHA!!! Oh man...that was intense!" Lonewolf slowly sat up as well, "Heh...yeah." Hajimate smiled at Lone, he had discovered a newfound respect for Lonewolf. "You're one hell of a fighter, Lonewolf! That's good...you are definately worthy of leading this guild." Lonewolf seemed confused by that last sentence, "Worthy..? Were you testing me or something?" Hajimate nodded, "Yes...and you're still alive...so I guess that means you passed." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "You guess, huh?" Hajimate chuckled, "Heh..." He slowly began to stand to his feet, then made his way over to Lonewolf to help him up as well. Both men standing now, Hajimate's face changed to a very serious look. "There's something I need to tell you, Lone. But not here...meet me back at my dormitory." He picked up his enchanted blade which dissipated and turned back into being just a sword handle again and hung it at his side, then left the room.

Chapter 15: The Hellfire Association

Lonewolf was curious as to what secret news Hajimate had to tell him in the privacy of his own dorm room. After dusting himself off and sheathing his blade back into its sheath, he entered the door that lead to the Guild's lounge. There, he saw Majik arm wrestling Kamikalo on a nearby table...Majik was loosing. Josh was sitting by the window in front of an eisel, painting a picture of the guild's lounge, starting with the bar first. Aerial stood behind the bar, looking dreadfully bored. Other then the faint sound of Majik's grunting, the guild was peaceful and quiet. Apparently, no one noticed the epic battle that had occured between Lonewolf and Hajimate just now. Lone shrugged it off and made his way underneath the staircase to knock on Hajimate's dorm room door. A voice can be heard from within, "Come in."

Lonewolf stepped into the magically large room as the door shut behind him on its own. Hajimate was fiddling with some spell he was practicing from a book he held in one hand. "Jhurik Gnajik!" He called out as he held out his hand in the direction of a broom that was leaned against the far corner wall. The broom fidgetted then swiveled and flew straight at Lone, "Duck dude!" Lonewolf, alarmed by the possessed broom, ducked immediately as the broom smashed into the door, breaking into hundreds of splinters.

"What the hell?!" Lonewolf glared at Hajimate with an outraged expression. Hajimate just scratched the back of his head, "Heh...sorry man. Guess I need to work a bit more on that cleaning spell." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow at the mention of what kind of spell that was, his face stiffened to a serious expression. Before speaking, he noticed that the gunshot wound on Hajimate's shoulder was gone...apparently Hajimate has a similar healing spell as his own. "I believe you said there was something you needed to tell me..?" Asked Lone. Hajimate nodded, suddenly getting serious as well, "Right. I wanted to tell you that I was sent here on a mission." Lonewolf's eyebrows lifted at the mention of this, "Mission? What kind of mission? And sent by whom?" Hajimate nodded, "I was sent by the Hellfire association. We are a secret group of supernatural beast hunters. We have been tracking a certain dangerous individual who we believe is headed here next." Lonewolf shook his head, "Woah woah woah, time out. Rewind for a sec here...'dangerous individual'? What the hell are you talking about? Why would this person be coming to my guild?" Hajimate's serious expression did not change, "Because he has nowhere else to go." He stated simply. Lonewolf persisted with his questioning; "Who is this 'dangerous person' you speak of?" He asked with his arms crossed. Hajimate shook his head, "I cannot give out that information." Lonewolf frowned, "Why not?" Hajimate shrugged, "It's top secret." Lonewolf glared at Hajimate, "Tell me or I will kick you out of my guild." Hajimate seemed amused and smirked roguishly, "Go ahead. Then you'll have the entire Hellfire association come and relieve you of your precious guild." Lonewolf glared harder at Hajimate, but did not say anymore, knowing that he didn't really have a choice in the matter. The guild meant everything to him and he didn't know what he would do if he lost it. He decided it would be best to just do what this Hajimate says...for now at least until he gets to the bottom of things. He quickly changed the subject, "So why the 'test' of abilities?" Hajimate smiled to himself before answering, "Oh that? Heh...I was just seeing if the rumors about your 'invincible power' were true. I guess I got a little carried away." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "A little, huh? You were trying to kill me back there." Hajimate scratched the back of his head, "Heh, ok maybe a lot. But hey! Look on the bright side...you passed!" He smiled, though Lone didn't seem amused. He turned around and headed for the door, "Whatever. So you're just some bounty hunter guy who is going to be snooping around my guild until you find the person you are looking for. Fine. I don't care. Just don't mess up my guild or put my members in danger or else you'll be hearing from me." Lonewolf had his back turned to Hajimate as he told him this. Hajimate smiled and saluted comically, "Rodger." Lonewolf rolled his eyes, then left the room.

"This guy is just gettin shadier and shadier.." mumbled Lone as he walked back up the stairs to his office. His body was still aching a bit from his sparring match with Hajimate and he felt he needed some time to rest. He closed his office door behind him as he entered. However, as soon as he turned around to face his desk, he noticed someone standing in his balcony. He sighed heavily as he made his way to the balcony to investigate. To his surprise, Pana Sule stood on his balcony, admiring the mini garden below it. She didn't seem to notice Lonewolf who was standing behind her. "Umm...can I help you, miss?" Pana jumped a little as Lonewolf's voice had startled her a bit. She swiftly turned to look at Lonewolf with her big blue eyes. "I..I'm sorry! I shouldn't be here!" She began to run for Lonewolf's door, "Wait." Lone grabbed her softly by her arm. "Why are you in here?" He asked calmly, showing no emotion. Pana pointed at the balcony, "The view." Lonewolf looked at the balcony then back at Pana, he was still a little confused, "The view?" Pana nodded and smiled. She pulled away from Lonewolf's grasp and walked back out onto the balcony, "You have the best view of the garden. Isn't it beautiful?" Lonewolf smiled warmly, "Heh, yeah it is." He agreed as he leaned his upper body against the balcony's rails next to Pana, looking down at the small garden. "I wish I had a beautiful garden like this back at home.." Mused Pana. Lonewolf tilted his head quizically, "Where is your home?" Pana said nothing, apparently noticing that she has said too much. She clammed up completely as she remained focused on the garden below. Lonewolf shrugged and looked down at the garden as well. "I often come out here to think about things." He said. Pana looked over at Lonewolf, the wind whipping her long blue hair against her soft pale skin, "Like what?" She asked. Her dark blue eyes now fixated on Lonewolf.

Lonewolf shrugged, "I don't know. Everything I guess. My past, the future, my achievements, my failures...you know, things." Pana nodded, "Oh.." She looked back out to the horizon. Lonewolf figured he should take this opportunity to get to know the mysterious girl better, "So...tell me about yourself. What made you want to join my guild in the first place?" The girl fell silent for a moment, "....excitement really. It's boring where I lived. I just wanted to do something spontaneous for once in my life. I'm tired of my parents controlling everything I do." Lonewolf nodded, "Ahh, I see. You ran away from home in search of adventure." Pana smiled and nodded, "Exactly." Lonewolf shrugged, "Well home couldn't have been all that bad...I mean, at least you still have your parents. I never met mine." Pana's eyes widened a little, "You were an orphan?" Lonewolf nodded, "Yep." Pana looked a bit sad, "Oh I'm sorry...it must've been hard for you." Lonewolf shrugged, "Not really. I was adopted by Locke, who taught me in the ways of dark sorcery, then later joined forces with the pirate Cpt. Fernando De Vega who taught me how to use a rapier and pistol." Pana smiled, "Well that's nice, sounds like you've lived an interesting life so far." Lonewolf grinned roguishly, "And it's only getting more interesting by the day." He added.

"So who taught you how to use your magic?" Asked Lonewolf. Pana seemed hesitant to answer the question, "I...um...I guess I was just born with it." Lonewolf seemed confused, then nodded, "Oh, you mean you were born with the magic potential. Yes I was too, but who taught you how to actually use those spells?" Pana shook her head, "No, I was born with the magic already. As for the spells, I just kinda make them up as I go along. It seems that the more anger and hate I feel for my opponent, the more devastating my spells are...and I tend to get pretty worked up in fights..." She admitted bashfuly. Lonewolf's jaw nearly dropped, "Made them up?! Anger and hate?! What kind of sorceress are you?!" Pana winked, "Who said I was a sorceress?" She turned and made her way to Lonewolf's door. "Wait..!" It was too late. Pana had already left the room, again, leaving Lonewolf with so many unanswered questions. "Damnit.." Lonewolf cursed under his breath.

Suddenly, just as Lone was about to leave his balcony, Sally, Bogey Baglebottom's carrier pidgeon, flew onto the balcony's rails. A small note strapped around her neck. "Hmm..?" Lonewolf unhooked the note from Sally's neck and read it:

Lonewolf,

Come to my house quickly! I have something important to show you!

Bogey Baglebottom.

Lonewolf sighed heavily again. It seemed he was not going to be getting any rest today...

Chapter 16: A New P.A.L.

Lonewolf made his way down to Cliffside village. The town was only about a 30-40 minute walk away from the guild, so Lonewolf just went on foot. He stood in front of Bogey's door and knocked twice. A few moments later, the round little man opened the door, his face pervaded by a broad yellow-toothed smile. "Come in! Come in!" The little man practically dragged Lonewolf into his house, causing Lone to bump his head on the top of the doorway. "Ouch..hey! Let go, I can walk on my own you know." The little man let go of Lone's hand, "Yes, my apologies sir Lonewolf. It seems that my excitement can get the best of me sometimes...but you MUST see this! I believe this invention to be the breakthrough of a lifetime!" Bogey clapped his chubby little hands together as he hopped up and down with glee. Lonewolf nodded, "Very well, old man. Where is this new invention of yours?"

Bogey ran across his little living room, he picked something up on his tiny coffee table and held it in his chubby little hands as he waddled back to Lonewolf. "Shut the door, boy! I don't want anyone in town to see this. They might try to steal it. Here.." He held up his invention for Lonewolf to see after Lone had shut the door. However, to his surprise, it wasn't an invention at all.

It was a little person! No larger then six inches tall. Her hair was a deep violet color, as was her eyes and most of her outfit. She wore a violet colored blouse with black and white striped long sleeves, and a black skirt that had violent stripes on each side, complete with black and white thigh-high stockings with little black knee high boots. She looked like a little doll, only her skin...it looked like she had real flesh!

"Congratulations, Bogey..." Lonewolf began with a mishievous smile crossing his lips, "...you have finally found someone smaller then yourself." He finished with a sarcastic tone. Bogey's eyebrows furrowed as his chubby cheeks puffed up in anger, "Foolish child! Do you not realize what I have created?!" Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow as he took another look at the miniature unanimated girl in Bogey's hands, "Um...a new race?" Bogey practically fell over as he threw a little fit, "Damnit boy! Enough of your jokes...look!" Bogey flipped a little switch located behind the mini girl's right ear. She blinked twice, then stood up in Bogey's hand and looked straight at Lonewolf.

"Greetings! My name is ____!" Lonewolf tilted his head to the side, "Her name is what? What is this thing, old man?" Bogey smiled as he watched his new invention spring to life. "She does not have a name because I have not given her one yet. She is my new invention! Lonewolf, meet P.A.L." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "Pal? I thought you said she had no name." Bogey shook his head, "No no no! Not 'pal'...P...A...L! It stands for Personal Animated Little-person." Lonewolf smiled to himself at that abbreviation. Only a midget like Bogey would consider the words "little" and "person" to be one word. He prodded at the little girl in Bogey's hand, who in turn slapped Lonewolf's index finger away with her little hand, "No touchy!" She chimed with a squeaky little voice. Lonewolf seemed alarmed by the mini girl's reaction to his prodding, "What exactly does a personal anima-whatever do?"

Bogey smiled proudly as he placed her down on the coffee table. She took a look around for a moment first, then grimaced at how filthy the table was. The mini girl's back opened and she pulled out a cleaning cloth. She began to happily clean the dust on the table, completely oblivious of the two men staring. Lonewolf laughed out loud, "Haha! That's amazing Bogey! So you've invented a mini-maid, haha very intresting." Bogey smiled, "I'm glad you think so...however, that is not all that she can do. She has a built in information system I've gathered from the encyclopedia along with current events. She is fluent in almost all forms of language. And here's the best part: She can save any information you give to her and store it away via a password system. Not only is P.A.L. a 'mini-maid', but she is also a mini-library and a mini-interpreter as well. Not to mention a great new way of storing information. You'll never need to write anything down again! Just think of the possibilities Lonewolf!"

Lonewolf nodded, he had to admit he was a bit skeptical about this mini-person's capabilities, especially since she was an invention of Bogey Baglebottom after all. However, he decided he would give Bogey the benefit of the doubt. "Indeed. I may be looking at a rich man." Lonewolf smiled. Bogey blushed a little, "Oh don't tease!" He reached down and plucked the mini-girl off the table, she seemed to be a bit distressed from being pulled away from her duties like that. "Oh no-no-no-no-noo! The table is not clean yet! Please master, let me finish!" She tried to get out of Bogey's grasp, but to no avail. Bogey simply ignored her request and flipped the little switch behind her ear to the "off" position.

"Interesting how it seems to have human emotions." Lonewolf mused aloud. Bogey nodded proudly, "I made her that way, with human emotions, she can learn. And the more she learns, the more helpful she will be around the guild." Lonewolf nodded, but suddenly realized Bogey said "guild" in his last sentence. His eyes widened and he held up both hands in a defensive position, "Woah! No way, old man! Don't even think about it!" Bogey shoved the mini girl into Lonewolf's pants pocket before he could get away, "I need someone to test her out, and you and Yolanda are the only ones I can trust with her." Lonewolf fumbled through his pocket and pulled out the little doll girl who just lay limp in his palm, now that he thought of it, the mini girl's eyes reminded him a lot of Stephanie's eyes. The memory of his former lover sent a quick pang of pain that pierced his heart. "Why not give her to Yolanda to test then?" He asked, obviously wanting to get rid of this new invention that reminded him of the past. Bogey shook his head, "Because Yolanda is far too busy with her restaurant and I couldn't possibly burden her with my new invention." Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed as he glared at Bogey, "So you've decided to burden me instead." Bogey waved off Lonewolf's bitterness, "Oh poppy-c**k! Think of it this way: my P.A.L. invention would be far more useful to you then she would Yolanda." Lonewolf already had his back turned and was heading outside the door, "Whatever. But if your new invention blows up or tries to conspire against me, I'll be filing one helluva customer complaint."

Chapter 17: Violet

Lonewolf had finally returned to his guild, still grumbling to himself about having to be Bogey's guinea pig in testing out his new invention. Lonewolf pulled out the miniature girl from his pocket and took a closer look at her. Her hair seemed real enough, as was her silky smooth skin. However when he shook her in his hand, he could hear metal clanking around within her. This truly was an amazing invention, he thought. He'd never seen anything like it before in his life, and wondered to himself how Bogey made this mini-miracle. There had to be some kind of magic involved in making this, he thought. "That's the only thing that would explain it..." He mused aloud.

"Only thing that would explain what?" A familiar female voice asked from behind Lone. He was standing in front of the guild's closed front door, but forgot that Kamikalo usually trains around this time underneath the large jackaranda tree that overlooked the entire front yard of the guild. He turned to regard her, though he had to look down a little due to her short stature.

Kamikalo is about 4'10'' in height and has a very lean figure for only being 18. Her hair is a dirty blonde color with turquiose eyes. She wore a faint green gi that overlapped her thick thighs and held closed with a black cloth belt which she always wore, signifying her martial arts stature. Her thighs were wrapped with a dark blue sarashi which matched her dark blue leather bracers. She wore knee high white socks and black slipper-like shoes that were apparently common in the eastern lands when it came to martial arts footwear. Her clothing was stained with dirt at the moment and she was completely drenched in sweat. She was out of breath when she asked Lonewolf her previous question.

Lonewolf held up the limp body of the miniature girl. "I was merely thinking aloud...that perhaps this was made using some sort of magic spell or artifact." Kamikalo squinted her eyes to get a better look at what Lone was holding. "Is that...is that a doll? Wolfy, aren't you a little old to be playing with toys?" Lonewolf blushed a bright red, "W, waitaminute! This isn't..!" Kamikalo cut him off in mid-sentence, "Don't worry Wolfy! I won't tell anybody you're playing with dolls!" She patted Lone on the back rather hard, making him nearly drop the mini-girl, "It'll be our little secret." She smiled broadly and winked, then scruffled Lone's hair. She certainly is quite the physical type, he thought to himself as he attempted to fix his messed up hair with one hand. "Ahem..." Lonewolf cleared his throat before responding to regain his composure, though his face was still a bit flushed, "What I was going to say before you interrupted me was: This isn't a toy. This is Bogey's new invention, he called it a P.A.L." Kamikalo wasn't really listening as she was punching and kicking the jackaranda tree's trunk. "Pal huh? Is that what they call dolls nowadays?" Lonewolf sighed heavily, "No, Kami. It's a Personal Animated Little-person. Watch.." Lone flipped the little switch behind the mini-girl's ear. She blinked twice then sprung to life, "Greetings! My name is ____!" Kamikalo stopped punching the tree trunk to look at the now animated 6-inch girl in Lonewolf's hand, she suddenly smiled widely as her eyes lit up, "Oh how cuuuute! The doll can talk!" Lonewolf nearly fell over when Kamikalo mentioned the word "doll" again. "Damnit! It's not a doll! It's an invention!" Lonewolf suddenly burst out, obviously frustrated with Kamikalo's one-track mind. Kamikalo seemed hurt by Lonewolf's raised voice, "...you don't have to yell...sheesh." She turned back around and began training with the tree trunk again. Lonewolf sighed heavily once again, "I apologize for raising my voice.." He began, but was interrupted again by the cheerful voice of Kamikalo, "That's alright, Wolfy! Just don't tick me off or else I'll tell everyone you're playing with dolls." She smiled sweetly. Lonewolf couldn't help, but feel he was being blackmailed. "Uh..sure. No problem.." He turned to walk inside the guild, walking a bit faster then he was before.

Once inside, Lonewolf noticed no one was in the lounge. This was a perfect time for him to tinker with Bogey's little invention. He placed the P.A.L. atop the bar table. "Greetings! My name is ____!" She repeated. Lonewolf nodded, "So I've heard. Mind telling me how I give you a name?" The mini girl nodded, "This one is programed to respond to any name given by this one's master. Please say given name...now." Lonewolf seemed confused, "Wait what? I'm not ready!" The mini girl saluted Lonewolf, "Greetings! My name is 'Waitwhatimnotready'!" Lonewolf nearly pulled his hair out, "No! Delete the last name I gave you." The mini girl nodded, "Previous given name...deleted. Please say new given name...now." Lonewolf thought about it for a moment as he examined the little invention. Suddenly, he thought of the perfect name. "Violet." He stated audibly. The mini girl saluted once again, "Greetings! My name is Violet! What is your name?" Lonewolf smiled at the cute display, "Lonewolf." He responded. "Greetings Master Lonewolf." She bowed. Lonewolf shook his head, "No, it's just Lonewolf. You don't have to call me 'master'." Violet tilted her head to the side as a sign of confusion, "This one does not understand. Master Lonewolf is Violet's master, therefore Master Lonewolf is Master Lonewolf." Lonewolf was beginning to get a headache, "I understand that, but what I'm saying is: you don't need to call me master. Calling me that makes me feel like some kind of slave owner.." Lonewolf's upper lip curled in disgust at the thought of slavery. Violet twitched a little, then tilted her head to the side again, "This one does not understand. Master Lonewolf is..." Lonewolf placed a finger over Violet's mouth, yet she continued repeating what she said before with a muffled voice. Lonewolf sighed, "Just forget it." Violet nodded, "Previous request deleted from memory." Lonewolf's eyes widened, "Wait! I just said to forget it not delete it!" She tilted her head to the side again, "This one does not understand." Lonewolf rolled his eyes as he clasped his face with his right hand and dragged it down, "This is gonna take some getting used to..." He said to himself.

Just then, Hajimate stepped out from his dorm room to see what all the commotion was. "Who are you talkin to?" His attention turned to Violet. He yelped audibly, "Ack! Purple rats!" He was about to blast her, but Lonewolf placed a hand in front of her, "Hold on! She's not a rat!" Hajimate seemed confused. He lowered his palm and stepped in for a closer look at the purple thing he saw. "What the hell is it then?" He asked impatiently. Lonewolf unveiled Violet from his palm, she was curled in a little ball, obviously afraid of Hajimate. When she saw she was unveiled, she sat up straight with her legs spread apart like a little child and looked up at Hajimate. "No touchy!" She chimed with her squeaky little voice as she pointed accusatingly at Hajimate. Hajimate nearly fell over backwards, shocked at what he was seeing, "What the ******** is that thing?! Some kind of humanoid bug?!" Lonewolf seemed amused by Hajimate's reaction. "No. She's a P.A.L. A Personal Animated Little-person. A new invention of Cliffside Village's infamous inventor, Bogey Baglebottom." Hajimate cocked an eyebrow at the mention of Bogey, "You mean that little midget? That guy couldn't invent his way outta a cardboard box." Lonewolf shrugged, "Well he invented her." He gestured towards Violet who was now dancing to recorded melodies within her memory atop the bar table.

Hajimate scratched the bottom of his chin, "So...bogey created a little person who looks and probably feels like a real human being...." He smiled at a personal thought, "That's pretty kinky..." Lonewolf glared at Hajimate, "Get your mind out of the gutter." He stated flatly. Apparently Violet heard him too because she ran into Lonewolf's vest pocket to hide. She poked her little head out briefly to point at Hajimate as she cried out: "No touchy!" Then popped back into the pocket without a trace. Lonewolf looked back up at Hajimate, "I don't think she likes you very much." Hajimate scoffed, "Pfft! Whatever. Like I really care if some stupid little robot likes me or not. Although...you better watch yourself at night. She may turn on you at any given moment." And with that, Hajimate stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked back into his dorm room, the door shutting behind him on its own.

Violet poked her little head out from Lonewolf's pocket again, "Is he gone?" She asked innocently. Lonewolf nodded, "Yes, Violet. He's gone." She pulled herself out of Lonewolf's pocket and climbed up his vest to sit on top of his shoulder, "Whew! This one was scared for a moment there! Who was that Master Lonewolf?" Lonewolf smirked, again, amused by Violet's innocence and display of human emotions. "That was Hajimate. I don't know much about the guy to tell you the truth, 'cept the fact that he's involved with some supernatural beast hunting group called 'Hellfire'." Violet shook her head, "There is no such group, Master." Lonewolf cocked an eyebrow as he regarded Violet suspiciously, "What makes you so certain?" Violet puffed up her little chest proudly, "My creator designed me to know everything about everything, Master Lonewolf. This one is merely letting Master know that this one has no data on this 'Hellfire' group Master speaks of." Lonewolf frowned, "Could you stop doing that please?" Violet tilted her head to the side innocently, "Stop doing what, Master?" Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed, "Stop speaking in the third person. You're confusing me when you talk like that." Violet remained confused, "This one does not understand. Violet was designed to talk this way." Lonewolf sighed, "Fine. Whatever. So you've never heard of this Hellfire group huh? That's interesting...perhaps they really are as secret as Hajimate depicts them." Violet nodded, "That is a possibility, yet highly unlikely." Lonewolf pondered to himself, "Hmm...well no sense in wondering about it now, and I'm too tired to start interrogating Hajimate about it at the moment. I'm going upstairs to rest for a few hours. Feel free to clean the guild, or whatever it is you do. Just don't mess up anything please, or I'll be forced to deactivate you." He placed Violet atop the bar table again and headed upstairs to his office.

Violet was visibly frightened at the thought of being deactivated. She nodded to herself and decided she would make her master proud by cleaning up the place. She took a look around for a few moments to see what she was dealing with. After a few minutes of processing everything, she nodded and spoke aloud, "Right! I have a lot of work to do! Time to get started!" She chimed as she pulled out her miniature wash cloth.

Meanwhile in Hajimate's room, Hajimate fiddled with his magical sword handle as he lay on his bed, looking up at the ceiling. "Only a matter of time...I know you're headed here. And when you get here, I'll make you pay for your treachery!" Hajimate clentched the fist that had the sword handle in it, causing the sword handle to dissapear in a cloud of black smoke.

Chapter 18: Bad News

"How could you have done this to me?! I loved him!" Mortamus remained silent with his back turned to Stephanie, gazing out the large window of his office. He looked different now. His purple hair was no longer disshieveled and filled with sweat, instead it was combed nicely, giving him a rather distinguished look. He was no longer dressed in peasant clothing either and was now clad in ornate gold colored armor which he had "found" during his travels around the world. He wore red leather pants that were a bit wide around the thigh area, but tightened around the calfs, gold armor boots that reached up to his knees, and red cloth bracers that was covered by gold armor that protected the top of his fore arms. The torso portion of his armor was very large and outlined his broad physique, but did not cover his stomache area, revealing his six-pack abs. The shoulder pieces of his armor were about two to three times the size of Mortamus' head, and a long black cape connected to the back of both shoulder pieces flowed to his feet. The armor itself seemed to pulse faintly with some kind of dark energy, but Stephanie shrugged that off as just a figment of her imagination.

"I was only doing what was best for you." Stated Mortamus with a matter-of-fact tone. Stephanie seemed disgusted, "What was best for me?! Mortamus, I love Lonewolf more then anything in the world! The best thing you could've done for me was let me marry him!" Mortamus whipped his body around quickly to regard Stephanie. His cape flowed with his motion as he revealed a menacing glare in his sister's direction. "Proprosperous!" Shouted Mortamus, "Lonewolf was nothing more then a mere vagabond who would amount to nothing in his life! He is a BUM! I took you away from him so you could find a better man who could take better care of you!" Stephanie returned Mortamus' glare, "You used me to selfishly test out one of your necromancy spells! No man could've taken better care of me then Lone! Admit it, Mortamus, you were jealous! You hated Lone because he was not only a better man then you, but a stronger one as well!" Mortamus' glower hardened, "ENOUGH!" He slapped Stephanie across her face with the back of his hand. She fell to the floor hard and started sobbing. Mortamus looked at his own hand with wild eyes, he was beginning to shake violently. Stephanie looked up at her brother, "You're not my brother...." She stated coldly as Mortamus began walking towards her, "...you're a monster!" Mortamus' shadow covered Stephanie completely. His eyes began to glow a bright red. A tear rolled down her cheek, "Lone..."

Lonewolf awoke from his bed with a start. He was completely drenched in his own sweat. "Another dream of Stephanie...and Mortamus..." He sat up in his bed as he rested his forehead on his right palm. "What the hell is going on here..." Suddenly, Sally the carrier pidgeon perched atop the railing of his balcony. Lonewolf pulled himself out of bed and walked over to the white bird, noticing that she had a message strapped to her neck. "What is it now, old man..?" Moaned Lonewolf as he unraveled the sheet of paper, assuming it to be another message about some new invention Bogey had made. As he opened the message, his eyes quickly darted to see who it was from. There, printed in black ink, read the name: "Mortamus."

His heart skipped a beat. How strangely ironic, not to mention creepy it was to receive a message from someone he had just been dreaming about. He leaned his back up against the balcony railing as he silently read the message to himself:

Dear Lonewolf,

I regret to inform you that Stephanie had passed away today due to suicide...

Lonewolf's heart nearly stopped after reading the first sentence of the message. No! It couldn't be! The girl he had loved with all of his heart and soul...dead..? Lonewolf felt his body slump down the railing as he sat on the floor of the balcony, his eyes not moving from the letter he held in his hand. Was he in shock? He couldn't tell...nor did he care. Stephanie is dead. Those three words raced through his mind over and over. He heard himself sob rather audibly, then something wet flow down his cheeks. Was it raining? No...he knew he was crying as he saw his own vision blur. The first sentence of the letter in his hand illegible through his tears, yet he knew what they said. Deep down, he wished he hadn't read them at all.

Lonewolf remained sittiing in the small corner of his balcony, sobbing like a little school girl. Not being able to wrench the letter away from his eyes. Then one word from that sentence suddenly struck him as odd. He looked back to read it again. There it was..."suicide". Of all the years he had been with Stephanie, he never would've thought Stephanie would ever commit suicide. In fact, he knew she would never do such a thing. It just wasn't her style at all. Stephanie was always the strong-willed type. Never going down without a fight, always picking herself back up when she was down. Curious that she would one day give it all up and kill herself..? Lonewolf continued reading the message:

...had passed away due to suicide. Apparently she was regretful about breaking up with you because she was found with a slit throat in her room, holding a knife in one hand and a picture of you and her standing by the town's fountain in her other hand. Fear not, for I will not press any charges against you, but now you see what happens when you play hero. You won my baby sister's heart over with your little heroic antics, and now because of you she is dead.

Lonewolf couldn't contain his rage after reading the last few sentences. He glowered hard at the letter and almost crumpled it up, but quickly stopped himself from doing that because there was still more written on it. He skipped the rest of Mortamus' bitching and read on:

...anyway, I had found this letter in one of her drawers and decided to respond to it. I had it shipped to the address you sent it from, via mail boat. So you have your own guild now huh? Still trying to be the hero of the day I see. Figures. Go ahead and keep playing your little games and see where it gets you. Personally, I hope you get eaten alive by the evil that resides in Croatia. Have a nice life 'Mr. Hero'.

Mortamus.

Lonewolf crumpled up the letter and let it burn to ash within his fist using a small fire spell. He was no longer crying, apparently Mortamus had pissed him off enough to forget about his sorrow. "b*****d." He hissed. Mortamus always had a way with pushing all of Lone's buttons and angering him to no end. He felt like letting out some steam in the training room. He got dressed in his usual attire: a white frilly shirt, velvet vest, navy blue silk pants and black leather boots. He stood up and strapped his sword sheath around his torso, put on his gun holster which hung loosely on his right thigh, and attached a small belt with a sheath holding a dagger around his left calf. He boldly stepped out of his room/office and headed downstairs to the training room. On his way downstairs he took note of how clean the entire guild looked, "Looks like Violet has been busy." He stated. He reached the lounge, where he noticed Violet who was happily making some breakfast.

The 6-inch little robot girl had a pan that was already frying an egg atop it. She used a spoon to shovel some oil atop the yolk of the egg, then ran for cover underneath a rag as it spat back drops of oil at her. As she peeked out from under the rag, she noticed Lonewolf staring at her. She quickly stood at attention as she held the spoon at her side as if it were some sort of staff. "Good morning, Master Lonewolf! I was just making some breakfast for you and the dragoons. Care to have some?" She gestured at the many plates of sunny side up and scrambled eggs along with bacon, sausage, and even some pancakes. Lonewolf scratched the back of his head. He never knew Bogey's invention could cook too! "Um...maybe later Violet, I'm going to go train right now." Violet bowed as she still held the spoon, "Yes Master Lonewolf. This one understands. Good luck with training!" She chimed happily, not noticing as the eggs were burning. "Oh my! This is not good! Not good at all!" She tossed the spoon aside and grabbed a spatula. She inserted it underneath the egg and hopped onto the handle, flipping the egg into the air and landing perfectly atop a nearby plate. Lonewolf nodded and smiled warmly, "Nice shot, Violet." If she could, she would've been blushing at that compliment, "Thank you master." Lonewolf bowed his head to her, "You're welcome. Now if you'll excuse me..." Violet nodded, "Yes, ofcoarse! This one will continue to cook breakfast for the others as Master Lonewolf trains." Lonewolf turned and walked towards the door to the training room.

Once entering the training room, Lonewolf saw that he was alone. That didn't surprise him due to the fact that it was still very early. He stretched out his limbs for a few minutes using various stretch exercises. Once loosened up, he began with a little target practice. He grabbed a pouch of bullets from the supply closet and set them down beside himself as he faced five dummies that were each about twenty feet away. He stared at the dummies long and hard, picturing each and every one of them had Mortamus' face. The faces of Mortamus laughed at Lone, calling him "Mr. Hero" and "pathetic". He let his anger flow into his body. Then into his gun.

Suddenly, he quick drawed Cpt. Vega's pistol and tagged each of the Mortamus faces' right between the eyes in about one second time. Each bullet held a portion of his anger, letting it out little by little with each shot. Thanks to Bogey's tinkering on his pistol, he was able to fire up to six shots from his flintlock now, rather then just one. He blinked and the faces became mere dummies again. He smirked at how amusing his own imagination could be. Still feeling a bit worked up, Lonewolf backed up to the far wall as he reloaded five more bullets into his pistol. He turned to regard the dummies again, this time he stood around forty feet away from them. Again, he tagged all five between the eyes in alarming speed. He smiled to himself as he blew the smoke away from the pistol.

"Impressive." An unfamiliar voice echoed from the far corner of the room. Lone quickly darted around to see who the intruder was, but no one was there. "Who's there?! Show yourself!" Suddenly a voice whispered into his ear, "Here." Lonewolf unsheathed his blade as he quickly spun around with a horizontal slash. However, he was merely slashing the air until he noticed a black figure flipping over him. He turned back around with a diagonal slash this time only to be blocked by a massive red blade. Lonewolf's eyes darted up to see who was behind this blade, only to be in shock as he saw this being also had white hair and red eyes just like Hajimate. He pushed off the large greatsword and hopped back a few feet to get a better look at this stranger.

His eyes were not deceiving him. The stranger who snuck into Lonewolf's guild without being detected did indeed, look just like Hajimate. The only difference between the two are the younger facial features, the clothing, and the massive red scar on his left cheek that was the shape of a leaning letter "k". He wore a black sleeveless shirt with similar black pants and boots as Hajimate. However, he also wore a black bandana along with spiked steel bracelets and a black leather belt that was held together with a rather large silver buckle that almost covered his entire stomache. He just stood there holding his large red blade in one hand, a smile crossing his pale lips.

"Who the hell are you?!" Demanded Lonewolf, obviously still feeling some anger from Mortamus' letter. The man shrugged, "That is none of your business. If you value your life, I suggest you calm yourself and stand down." Lonewolf spat to the side in disgust as he held out his right palm, "******** you." He stated coldly, his anger now controlling his actions. A purple blast shot from his palm. He was nothing but a rampaging beast right now, and refused to "back down" to anyone. As he let out his blast, he felt something grab his ankles, "What the hell?!" Lonewolf looked down to see what held him fast. His eyes widened as he saw two large rocky hands holding his ankles. They must've broken through the training room's floor boards. "A summoner..?" Baffled at the strange spell, he didn't notice the man walking towards him until the man stood right in front of him. Lonewolf looked up at the man, who in turn held out his palm. "Farewell." He stated with a sigh. The blast completely engulfed Lonewolf's body. After the blinding light from the energy subsided, Lonewolf was nowhere to be found. "Hmm? Did I discintegrate him?" The strange man seemed confused yet amused, then felt something sharp rest near the rigght side of his neck followed by Lonewolf's voice, "I'm not that easy." He stated coldly. "You've lost. Lay down your sword." He continued. The man smiled to himself, "So...you can teleport." Lonewolf nodded, not moving his blade from the man's neck. "Yes." The man smiled wider, revealing rather sharp fangs, "Good. Very good. So you're not as weak as I thought...still.." The man slowly turned around as he dropped his blade to the floor. He was now facing Lonewolf who still had his blade at the man's neck. He was still smiling. "Can you handle...this!" The man's body suddenly burst into three times its original size, as his skin went from a pale baige to a charcoal black and ripping away his shirt and bandana. The pupils of his red eyes turned into slits as his fangs grew much larger. Menacing fleshy spikes protruded out from his spine as well as his elbows, knee caps, and forearms along with large bat-like wings. This man was no man at all...he was a demon!

Lonewolf flew back as the triple increase of the man's size pushed him away. He regained his composure as he grinned mischievously, "So...you finally reveal your true colors. I was almost dissapointed for a sec there. Seemed a bit too easy." Lonewolf flicked his wrist, the Sword of the Fallen Devil immediately extended from his right index and middle fingers. He had completely mastered the spell, no longer having to go through all the necessary motions in order to make the blade appear. "Let's get this over with." He stated with a smile. The demon roared and flew up into the air then swooped down on Lonewolf, attempting to slice off his head with its claws. Lonewolf rolled out of the way from the oncoming attack, but wasn't fast enough as the demon quickly changed course in its flight, swooping back at Lonewolf, grabbing him by the neck and pinning him up against the wall. Lonewolf used his blades to stab at the demon's mid section, but its carcass was just too tough for his blades to penetrate. The demon's hands were clasped tightly around Lone's neck, keeping him from being able to cast any spells. It seemed like the end was at hand for Lonewolf...literally.

"YOU!!!" A familiar voice can be heard near the door of the training room. Hajimate stood there, his eyes wild with rage as he pointed accusatingly at the demon. The demon let go of Lonewolf, letting him fall to the floor, then stomped towards Hajimate. The two just remained staring at each other for a few moments, until Hajimate broke the silence as he pointed at the demon, "Aussir Svent!" He commanded. A white energy arrow formed above his head, then flew straight at the demon, slamming into its torso hard then dissipating. The demon roared as it retreated a step. Hajimate shot another magical arrow. This time however, the demon caught the spell before it hit it. Hajimate's eyes widened, "Impossible! Those spells are holy!" The demon laughed in amusement, then hucked the magical arrow back at Hajimate, who in turn casted a barrier spell, blocking the arrow within a see-through wall of red energy. Hajimate didn't seem fazed from the impact upon his barrier at all. Instead, he looked rather annoyed. "I don't know why that spell has no effect on you...but no use in crying about it" He stated as he braced himself on the ground, "Looks like I'll just have to kick your a** the old fashioned way...Charir Kothar!" Suddenly Hajimate's body increased in size just like the stranger's did. His body turned into a blackened color as he grew spikes in the same areas as the other man did, only Hajimate grew a horn as well which protruded from the middle of his forehead.

Lonewolf stared in awe and was also a bit frightened at the sight of the two gigantic beasts going at it in the training room. So Hajimate had been a demon all along...but who is this other guy? Is he the "dangerous person" Hajimate had mentioned earlier? Whatever the case, he needed to get out of the way from their fight. He ran for cover as Hajimate slammed his fist into the other demon's face, knocking him through the training room's wall and outside the guild. Hajimate ran out the hole in the wall to pursue his prey.

Just then, Violet scurried through the training room as she called out to Lonewolf, "Master! Master! Are you alright?" Lonewolf nodded as he kneeled down to pick up Violet and set her upon his shoulder. Violet seemed relieved, "Oh that's good! I heard all of the commotion and woke up sir Hajimate to come help you. I burned some of the breakfast in the process however. I hope master is not mad at me.." Lonewolf smiled warmly at Violet, "No. Master is not mad at you." He said, mimicking Violet's style of talking. She tilted her head to the side, "Master Lonewolf is talking funny." She said as she placed a tiny palm on Lonewolf's forehead, "Is master feeling well?" Lonewolf laughed a little at the cute display, but quickly stopped as he heard roaring outside the massive hole in the wall. Lonewolf ran outside, only to run for cover as one of the demons came crashing down where he was standing.

"Kothar Gix!" Hajimate summoned dark energy to surround his massive claws. "Now I'll finish you!" Hajimate let out an alramingly loud battle cry, then swooped down from the air. As he flew straight for the other demon, who was barely standing to its feet, he retracted all of his claws from both hands. However, right before he reached the other demon, Hajimate crashed face-first into a green barrier, knocking him back with a bloodied nose from the impact. The other demon looked down at Lonewolf, obviously confused.

"That's enough!" Cried out Lonewolf, who was now standing in front of the stranger with his arms crossed in the shape of an "X". He let his arms fall to his sides, as he did this the barrier spell dissipated. "What the hell are you doing?!" Demanded the Hajimate demon who was struggling to stand back up as he tried to plug his bleeding nose. "Are you actually siding with him?!" Lonewolf shook his head. "I'm not siding with anyone. I don't know what the hell is going on here, all I know is there is a really big hole in my guild's wall and if you mess with my guild, you mess with me. Now both of you stop your damn bickering and lets settle this like normal human...er...people." The demon behind Lone sneered, "That's what I was trying to tell you in the first place, but you continued to attack me." Lonewolf blushed a bright red, "Heh...well I uh...um.." <******** this!" Hajimate was not amused at all. He summoned up the dark energy around his claws again and began walking towards Lonewolf and the other demon. "I'll just kill you both then!" He began running towards them. Lonewolf and the other demon braced themselves for an attack, however, Lone felt something hop off his shoulder. "Violet! Wait!" He tried calling out, but to no avail. The little robot stubbornly stood in front of Lonewolf, facing Hajimate. She held out her little palm as she cried out:

"NO TOUCHY!!!"

Hajimate slowed to a halt as he looked down at the 6-inch girl. He remained staring at her for a long while, then snorted, "Hmph. Whatever." He turned back into a human as the stranger did the same shortly after. Hajimate just stuck his hands in his pockets as he turned away with his back facing Lone and the others. The stranger looked at Lonewolf and nodded sincerely, "Thank you." Lonewolf nodded back, "Right. Now that that's over with...time to give me some answers. For starters, what's your name?" He asked the stranger.

He looked up at Lonewolf and replied, "Kaze Kenise."

Chapter 19: The Demon Prince

Lonewolf felt his jaw drop once he heard the stranger's name. "THE Kaze Kenise?" He asked. Kaze seemed flattered, "It seems my reputation precedes me." Hajimate didn't seem surprised at all. He remained standing with his back turned and his hands in his pockets. He grimaced in disgust after hearing Kaze's response. Just then, the other dragoons poured out from the massive hole on the training room's wall. Each of them in their own sleep wear, some in underwear, all holding weapons. "What's up Lone?! We heard a noise!" Majik stood in front of the group clad in nothing except his white trunks. He rested his broadsword on his shoulders as he addressed his former crew mate. Lonewolf waved his hands at the group, "Everything is under control. Don't worry about it, I'm fine. We just had ourselves a little scuffle is all. Please return to your dorm rooms." Most of the dragoons nodded their heads and headed back inside, however Majik stayed behind. "I'm not missing a thing!" Stated Majik, who was eyeing Kaze suspiciously. Lonewolf rolled his eyes, "Fine..." He pondered to himself for a moment, "Now that we established who you are...why did you come here?" Kaze remained silent as he looked away from Lone, "I...was searching for my cousin..." Lonewolf seemed confused for a moment, but then it slowly began to sink in. It made sense ofcoarse...the red eyes...the white hair. "I see. So...Hajimate is your cousin." Kaze nodded, "Correct." Hajimate didn't budge. Kaze looked at Hajimate with a saddened look in his eyes, "Please cousin...I did not know father was the one who ordered your assassination." Hajimate suddenly whipped around, a malevolent glare pervaded his fiery eyes. "Liar! How dare you lie to me! I suppose you didn't know that my father and brother had been brainwashed either? How stupid do you think I am?! You're just as corrupt as your own father!" Hajimate walked menacingly towards Kaze, but Lonewolf intervened by holding him back. "Easy Haj..." Hajimate's glare did not deter from Kaze.

Kaze's head slumped down as he sighed softly, "...you're right. I did know my father's plans...but that didn't mean I approved of them! I was forced to obey my father's commands! He even threatened my life!" Hajimate sneered at his cousin, "Lies atop lies. Don't listen to a word he says, Lone. He's pure scum." Kaze shook his head sadly, "I knew you weren't going to believe me...which is why I had brought this.." He pulled out a small golden ring which had elaborate etchings of an unknown language along the inside and outside of the band, topped with a strange green gem which seemed to pulse lightly. He held it up to the light for all to see. Violet's eyes grew wide, "Ooh! Pretty!" Majik quickly snagged the ring from Kaze's hand, "I knew it! I knew there was treasure here!" He leaped in triumph in his underwear as he was running away from Lonewolf who was chasing after him now. "Damnit Majik! Give that back!" Majik cut the corner around the guild building with ease as Lone slipped on the mud and fell on his face. "I win! Haha!" Majik stuck his tongue out at Lonewolf. Lone grunted as he pushed himself back to his feet, "That's it..." He held out his palm and fired a purple blast in Majik's direction. A faint glimmer of light could be seen in the sky as it flew back at Lonewolf. He caught the ring, turned around and walked back to Kaze and the others, completely ignoring Majik's twitching half-naked body that was now lying in the grass.

He flipped the ring back at Kaze, "As you were saying..?" said Lone as he let out a deep sigh, obviously annoyed at what had just happened. Hajimate remained stunned the entire time, the ring must've had some sort of important significance to the situation. "I..it can't be..! The ring that Kratos used on my father and brother...the same ring he tried to use on me...what manner of trickery is this?!" He growled, "Why are you trying to mess with my mind?! I know you are just as much behind the conspiracy as your father is! I've had enough of your lies!" Hajimate charged two large black balls of energy and hurled them at Kaze, too fast for Lonewolf to counter. Kaze didn't bother moving out of the way and just took the blast. He spiraled backwards through the air, landing hard on the grass. Hajimate's eyes widened a little after seeing what he had just done. "W...why didn't you block it?" He seemed confused. His eyes staring blankly at nothing.

Lonewolf rushed over to Kaze who was lying on the floor, his pants and boots in shambles, his entire torso and arms bruised up and bleeding from various cuts and gashes. Without a word, Kaze held up the ring to Lonewolf. Lone took the ring in his hand, then held up his other hand as he focused white energy to surround it. "By the light...I heal thee." He placed his empty palm atop Kaze's chest, the light glowing and causing a few of his bruises and cuts to miraculously heal themselves. "You should be fine now. I will see to it you get the proper medical attention you need." He said as he stood back up. Kaze smiled weakily, "Thank you..." He whispered, then passed out.

Lonewolf walked back to Hajimate, who was still in shock. He flipped the ring at Hajimate, who didn't bother to catch it. The ring hit his chest and landed on the muddy earth by his feet. Hajimate looked down slowly at the ring. Suddenly, Lonewolf punched him across the face. The impact of the attack knocked Hajimate off his feet and onto the ground. He didn't bother to push himself back up from the ground. Violet was startled by Lonewolf's sudden act of violence. She looked at Lone quizically, "Why did you do that, master?" Lonewolf just looked down at Hajimate, ignoring Violet's question. "Now, demon. You are going to give me some answers. There is no such thing as a 'Hellfire association' IS there?" Hajimate spat out some blood, then rolled onto his back, "No." He admitted, defeated. Lonewolf crossed his arms as he cocked an eyerow, "So why the ruse?" Hajimate sat up slowly, looking down at the grass, "I needed to make something up to make you trust me for a little while. I could tell from the moment I walked through that guild's door you knew I was hiding something. So...I pulled something outta my a** to throw you off the scent." Lonewolf nodded, "I see. So were you lying about the reason why you sparred with me too?" Hajimate shook his head and grinned a little, "Heh, no. That part was true. I heard rumors about you being very powerful, then I saw you sparring with that spikey haired kid and figured you were nothin but a pompous a*****e who liked to pick on weaker people....then I fought you." Lonewolf smirked, "And?" Hajimate looked up from where he was sitting to return Lonewolf's smirk, "I still think you're a pompous a*****e." Lonewolf frowned. "But you certainly can hold your own in a fight. I respect that in a man." Lonewolf's expression softened, "So who are you really? He asked as he sat down within the large hole in the wall. Hajimate nodded, "My real name is Hajimajisen Kenise. I go by Hajimate in my human form. As you've already noticed, I am a demon and heir to the throne in the castle of Merilith. My father is Kain Kenise, my brother is Hezrou Kenise, and my uncle is Kratos Kenise." He nodded at Kaze, "Kaze is his son. At first, my father was merely the king of Merilith, the demon inhabited town beyond the forest to the east. However, Kratos wanted more then that, he wanted control over the entire continent. My father was wise and knew that if such a thing happened, the inhabitants of Croatia will eventually rebel and wage war upon our small castle town, but Kratos wouldn't listen. His greed and ambition drove him into hunting for some way he could forcibly make my father change his mind. Where he got his information is still unknown, but he eventually found out about a magical ring that, if worn, can control the minds of anyone you wanted." Lonewolf looked down at the ring in the mud, "You're referring to that ring, right?" Hajimate nodded. "He took possesion of that ring and used it on my father as well as my brother and the rest of our army. However, his ring had no effect on me due to my vast knowledge of wizardry. I did what I could to counter the spell and managed to fight it off. Knowing I was a threat to his plans, Kratos ordered my own gaurds to assassinate me. They took me to the heart of the forest and attempted to emerse my entire body into the holy pond. I managed to get away from them and have been a vagabond ever since, hiding within this very continent and traveling from town to town. I've seen a lot of things and fought a lot of warriors during my travels. None however, managed to beat me until I met you." Lonewolf smiled to himself.

"Anyway.." continued Hajimate, "That was about 10 years ago." Lonewolf tilted his head curiously, "How old are you?" He asked. Hajimate chuckled lightly, "Heh...too old." Lonewolf shrugged, "So you were travelling the world...then what?" Hajimate nodded, "Then I heard the rumors about Kaze betraying the king and running away from the castle. I figured it was just another one of Kratos' tricks since I noticed Kaze was trying to track me down. Knowing that I was being followed, I lead him on a wild goose chase, until I heard about a new guild that had opened on Croatia. I knew that whoever opened this new guild was doing it behind Kratos' back since it had opened around the time of the rumors of Kratos hunting down his own son. I quickly assumed that the guild was a group of rebels who planned to rise up and fight against Kratos' army just like my father had said before he was brainwashed. Curious, I found what little information I could about this new guild and sure enough my assumptions proved to be correct. So...I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone by joining up with your guild, kill Kaze when he arrived, and eventually end Kratos' tyranny. However..." Hajimate's eyes strayed to the golden ring that sat in the mud, "...I never would've expected this to happen. Kaze was a ruthless b*****d before all of this happened, not to mention he was just as greedy and ambitious as his father was...I don't understand why he just let himself be blasted the way he did. He seems...different." Lonewolf raised an eyebrow, "How so?" Hajimate shrugged, "I dunno. Like, he seemed...sad. He was acting like a broken man." Lonewolf looked away, then looked back at Hajimate, "Perhaps he is." He stated flatly. Hajimate looked up at Lone with a blank expression, then slowly looked back down and nodded his head. "Very well. I'll listen to what he has to say, but after I take a shower." Hajimate smelled his armpit then turned away from it in disgust, "I ********' stink." Lonewolf laughed out loud, then sat up and lended Hajimate a hand in standing back up. They both walked over to Kaze's body and lifted him up, Lonewolf holding him by his arms and Hajimate holding the legs. Slowly, they walked back through the large hole in the wall and made their way to the guild's lounge. Violet, who was still outside, picked up the magical ring and took it with her as she followed Hajimate and Lonewolf back into the guild.

"Wait for me masterrrr..!"

Chapter 20: Uninvited Guests

Heavy footsteps clanked atop cold, gritty stone as the man ran up the winding steps of the castle. His sweat dripping from within his black, spikey armor. Finally, he had reached the large double-door that led to the castle's throne room. He took a few moments to catch his breathe and regain his composure, then proceeded to enter the room.

The room was dank and dusty, as cobwebs littered every dark corner. Three narrow windows were scattered apart, one on each wall besides the wall that had the door. The royal insignia of a black head with horns atop a crimson red cloth, outlined with gold embroidery, was presented all around the room. A large menacing throne could be seen in the middle of the room atop a red carpet, also embroidered with gold. A motionless king sat atop the throne, red eyes staring blankly. His white hair and beard sloped down to his knees as he was clothed in royal robes that had similar colors as the royal insignia.

The soldier fell to his knees as he kneeled respectfully, "My lord...I've word of the demon prince, Kaze." A man, tall and thin in stature stepped out from behind the shadows of the throne as a menacing smirk crossed his thin, pale lips. His red eyes seemed to spark within the darkness as his scraggly white hair swept across his forehead when he turned to regard to regard the soldier. "Good." He hissed, "Well then? Out with it." He said impatiently.

The soldier looked up at his self-proclaimed king, "He has allied with a guild located not far from Cliffside Village." Kratos' bushy white eyebrows furrowed." Guild? What guild? Why was I not informed of this?!" He demanded as he stepped forward in front of his motionless brother who sat upon the throne. The soldier seemed hesitant as he looked back down to the ground, still kneeling, "My Lord...you have kept the entire army busy in search of Kaze.."

Kratos kicked the soldier in the face of his helmet, who in turn toppled over onto his back as he instinctively held his helmet in place. "How dare you blame this on me!" He drew his sword from its sheath and held it by the soldier's neck, "I'll have your head for this..." Just before Kratos was about to lop off the man's head, the soldier quickly held his arms up in defense as he shouted out:

"Hajimajisen is with him!"

Kratos lowered his blade as his eyes darted from side to side, then back at the soldier, "Tell me more." He stated as he sheathed his blade. The soldier breathed a sigh of relief before continuing, "Our scouts followed Kaze to this new guild and claimed to see Hajimajisen and Kaze fight just outside the guild in their demon forms. A man who seemed like the leader of the guild, intervened and stopped the fight, then they were seen entering the guild. One scout claims to have seen Kaze reveal the Ring of Indoctrination to them."

Kratos seemed lost in thought, "Hmm..." He mused aloud, "So...it seems my son has decided to join forces with Hajimajisen along with other 'rebels' from Cliffside Village. So be it. Jago.." He called out the soldier's name who in turn picked himself up off the ground to regard his lord.

"Yes m'lord?" Kratos unsheathed his sword again, then proceeded to examine the blade. "Find more information on this...'guild'. I want to know exactly who and what we are dealing with." Jago bowed respectfully, "Yes m'lord." He turned to leave, but was stopped by Kratos' voice, "Oh, and Jago.." The soldier slowly turned to regard Kratos, "If you ever back-talk me again. I will personally slice off your head and have it for dinner!" Growled Kratos, revealing his sharp fangs and flashing his blood-red eyes. Jago bowed respectfully again, "Yes m'lord." He then left the throne room.

"A guild..." mused Kratos as he playfully moved his sword's blade tip around his motionless brother's neck. "There has not been any guilds around here ever since I took over." He seemed quite amused about the situation. "Pitiful fools. They have no idea what they will be up against...isn't that right, dear brother?" He grinned at the lifeless king as he sliced a small cut within his throat. The king didn't budge. "You're such a bore..." He said as he sighed heavily and sheathed his blade then walked away from the throne to look out one of the windows. Jago and a small portion of his scouts were already on the move as they rode atop black horses through the town of Merilith.

* * * * *

"Holy water?" Lonewolf cocked an eyebrow as he regarded Hajimate skeptically. "I thought that was only something out of kiddy stories." Hajimate nodded his head, "I suppose they got the idea from us..." He stated, "Nonetheless, holy water is like acid to a demon and the forest to the east has an entire lake full of the stuff." Lonewolf seemed baffled. If only he knew that holy water was all it took to subdue a demon...he looked over at Kaze who was lying unconcious atop the lounge's couch. He nodded in his direction, "What about that holy spell you used against your cousin? For starters, how the hell can a demon wield a holy spell and secondly, why didn't it effect him?"

Hajimate shrugged, "Once a demon's soul is no longer fully tainted by evil, he/she can wield a holy spell as well as resist a holy attack." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "So...you're not evil..?" Hajimate shook his head, "No way, man. Just because I'm a demon doesn't automatically make me evil." Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed, "It was demons who attacked my hometown once." He stated accusatingly.

Hajimate seemed unphased by Lonewolf's accusation, "That's another thing you need to know about demons...there are different clans." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "Clans..?" Hajimate nodded, "Yes. My race of demons come from the Kenise Clan. We're pretty much the 'royal knights' of the demonic world. Our blood is pure and unflawed, leaving us with emence strength as well as vast intelligence. Another clan is the Sulia Clan. This clan is entirely made up of half-breeds, half demon, half human, etc. There is a rumor that the king of the clan is a demon and the queen is an angel, but if ya ask me, I think that's a load of bull. That clan is nowhere near as violent as the other clans, in fact, they're the 'wussies' of the demonic clans. As for the thrid clan, the Granbull Clan, these guys are all about chaos. Bloood-thirsty savage animals who thrive on death and destruction. These are the guys who attacked your hometown."

Lonewolf was quiet. Everything he had ever thought about demons was changing. The thought of there being "good" demons in the world blew his mind. "How could that be possible?" He asked suddenly, "How could there be such a thing as 'good' demons? Aren't they all from hell?" Hajimate shook his head, "Demon is another word for 'fallen angel offspring'. We are the offspring of Satan, however just because we are decendants of the devil does not automatically make us all evil. Two words, buddy: Free will." Lonewolf turned away. As much as he hated to admit it...it did make sense. For years he had despised demons and thought they were nothing more then mere beasts that needed to be vanquished. Now it seems that he was going to be allying himself with them in order to restore peace. He quietly laughed to himself at the irony of the situation.

"What's so funny?" Asked Hajimate who seemed mildly offended by Lone's laughter. "Nothing. It's just ironic really. All this time I thought demons were nothing but death and chaos, and now I'm allying with them in order to restore peace and order to Croatia." Hajimate smirked at that, "Heh. Yeah that is ironic. Sorry to bust your bubble, bud."

A large "boom" from the outside interrupted their conversation. "Damnit...of all the times." Lonewolf sighed heavily. Hajimate seemed alarmed, "What was that noise?" He asked. Lonewolf stood up from his seat and began to put on his weapons.

"Rats." He stated sarcastically, "Violet. Inform the other dragoons that we are under attack. Use the intercom that is atop my desk in my office." He said as he casually walked outside the front door. Violet saluted her master with her tiny hand and began to make her way up the stairs, crawling up one step at a time. Hajimate seemed baffled by the situation and headed out the door, following Lonewolf.

* * * * *

Once Hajimate stepped foot outside, he saw Lonewolf standing under the guild's jacaranda tree. He was looking up at the sky at something, so Hajimate stepped in beside him for a better look at whatever Lonewolf was looking at. Hajimate gasped lightly at what he saw flying through the air. He expected to see something big and sure enough, flying through the air in about thirty to forty foot length, was the "rat" Lonewolf had spoken of.

"A dragon." Stated Hajimate as he stared up into the sky. "Yep." Agreed Lone with a slight nod, "Be on your gaurd...he's about to fly in for another attack on the guild." Hajimate glanced at Lonewolf, who was still looking up at the dragon with a serious look on his face. "Why is it attacking your guild? Dragons are usually docile creatures." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow at the word "docile". He looked over at Hajimate, "Docile? Since when? These damn things have been attacking our guild ever since I opened it up to the public." Hajimate's eyebrows furrowed, "That's strange...they're usually friendly with my race. They must not like humans." Lonewolf unsheathed his blade as he took a step forward, staring at the oncoming dragon. "Ya think?"

Just then, the dragon swooped Low enough for Lonewolf to fire a blast of purple energy from his palm, tagging the dragon on its left shoulder. It roared in pain as it swooped slightly to the left. Lonewolf took this chance to leap up and grab onto the back of the dragon's left wing, dragging him into the air with it as it barely misses the guild's facade. Hajimate ducked as the dragon swooped over his head. He cupped one hand over his eyes as he looked up into the sky to see how Lonewolf was doing.

Inch by inch, Lonewolf slowly works his way up the top of the dragon's left wing. Aware of its unlicensed rider, the dragon attempted to shake Lonewolf off its wing by flapping harder, but to no avail. As Lonewolf neared the bare of the dragon's back, the dragon let out an alarming cry. Lonewolf attempted to cover his ear with one arm as he held fast with his other arm. Suddenly, a grey dragon that was somewhat larger then the one he was riding, flew out from behind the clouds and swooped down on Lonewolf who was riding the green dragon's back. "Oh s**t..." Lonewolf quickly summoned his Sword of the Fallen Devil sword and used it to slice a large gash in the green dragon's right wing, causing it to spiral out of control. Lonewolf lost his grip and flew off the dragon.

Hajimate could see a small speck in the sky slowly grow bigger and bigger as it neared the ground, however the plummeting Lonewolf slowed down to mere floating as he used a light weight spell. He landed softly on the ground within the guild's courtyard. After a safe landing, Lonewolf looked up at the spiraling green dragon, who crash landed not far from the guild's front yard. It was still alive, but far more angrier then it previously was before. It began to advance on foot towards the guild, running at ramming speed as it was accompanied by the larger grey dragon that flew just above the green dragon's massive head.

"Let's get this over with." Stated Lonewolf as he unsheathed his rapier. Hajimate held his hand up in the air as he said a few incantations, causing his magical sword handle to appear in his hand. Both men stood side by side as they awaited the oncoming dragons. Hajimate kneeled down, placing his sword handle upside down on top of the earth's soil. He remained holding his handle in that position as the dragons advanced. The green dragon opened its mouth wide as it ran straight for Lonewolf as the grey dragon breathed fire out in Hajimate's direction.

"Away." Lonewolf disappeared just before the green dragon was about to gobble him up off the ground and reappeared above the green dragon's head as he held his rapier downward, piercing the dragon's thick skull by a mere inch or two. At the very same moment, Hajimate held up his left hand, causing his red barrier spell to appear before himself, blocking the grey dragon's fire. He then retracted his sword handle from the ground, unsheathing a sword completely made of stone, mud, roots, etc. He uppercutted the grey dragon as it flew above his head with his earth-blade, shattering it to bits and pieces of mud and pebbles, yet causing the dragon to lose altitude and crash face first on the grass. "Heh." Hajimate lightly smirked at his triumph, but was quickly interrupted by the loud roars of the green dragon next to him. Its large scaley tail whipped Hajimate hard, knocking him off his feet.

The green dragon flailed about as Lonewolf held fast onto his blade atop the dragon's head. He grunted as his body weaved to and fro due to the dragon's flailing. Through the tossing about, Lonewolf noticed Hajimate get whacked quite hard by the dragon's tail. "Go for its heart!" He cried out as he tried his best to hold onto his blade. It felt as though his rapier was about to snap in half at any moment. "I can't hold him for long!" He grit his teeth as he flexed his leg muscles, trying to maintain his balance. Hajimate pushed himself to his feet as he nodded to Lonewolf. He picked up his cracked earth-sword and ran straight for the dragon's chest, but had to retreat as the dragon breathed fire in his direction. Lonewolf took this opportunity to draw his pistol. He kneeled down quickly, one hand holding his sword, the other holding his gun. He placed the gun in front of the dragon's right eye and fired a shot.

The sudden jolt of pain caused the dragon to whip its head back at alarming speed, throwing Lonewolf off the dragon's head immediately. He had to roll from side to side to dodge the dragon's attempt to smash him with its tail. Hajimate attempted to go for the dragon's heart again, but the dragon whipped its tail back around to knock Hajimate over, causing him to drop his greatsword.

"Hiiiiii-YA!!!" Just then, Majik leaped into the air with his large rectangular greatsword and sliced the dragon's tail off in one clean swoop. He was still clad in nothing but his sleeping trunks. Turned out he had just regained his consciousness from Lonewolf's blast earlier and saw all the commotion. So he decided to lend a hand, even though Lonewolf didn't deserve it. Majik would never admit it, but he secretly looked up to Lonewolf. He was somewhat of a role-model to him. "Miss me?" Asked Majik, still managing to be abnoxious even under dangerous situations. The dragon roared in anguish as it retreated back a few feet from its severed tail. Angered beyond belief, the dragon blew fire in Majik's direction, who in turn scrambled out of the way for cover.

"Ice Crackling Storm!" Pana ran towards the group as she summoned an ice spell. It began to hail ferociously above the dragon's head. Magical icycles pierced through the dragon's scales, causing the dragon to whip about as it tried in vain to dodge the icy attack. Hajimate took this chance to pick up his sword and leaped for the dragon's chest, stabbing it where the heart should be. The green dragon finally fell to the ground, dead. Hajimate pulled his sword out as the earth-blade crumbled away, leaving nothing but the handle again. Lonewolf jogged over to the group, catching up to them at the same time Pana did.

"Thank's blue-haired lady." Said Hajimate as he smiled at her, "I don't think we've met..?" He added as he scratched the back of his head. Pana shook her head shyly. "Well I'm Hajimate." He said proudly, "I know." Stated Pana. Hajimate's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "How do you know who I am?" He asked, genuinely curious. Pana just winked, "I just know." She said playfully. Lonewolf was just as confused as Hajimate was, but now wasn't the time to interrogate each other. "Where's the other dragon?" He asked Hajimate as he pulled out his rapier from the dragon's skull. His eyes glanced over to where the grey dragon had crash landed. Nothing was there now. "Uhh...good question. He was over there just a moment ago..."

An audible gun shot could be heard not far from where everyone was standing. The rifle bullet whizzed by as it tagged the oncoming grey dragon in one of its eyes. "Look out!" Cried Lonewolf as he dove for cover along with Pana and Hajimate. The dragon fell face first onto the ground right where everyone had been previously standing. It got up suddenly and turned to regard Lonewolf and the others who were barely pushing themselves back to their feet. The dragon ran on all fours as it attempted to run over them.

Another gun shot. This time tagging the dragon just beneath the left knee-cap of its back leg, causing the entire leg to buckle. It skidded onto the ground, but still breathed out a stream of fire attempting to fry Lonewolf and the others. However, just before it was able to aim the flaming attack properly, a familiar 4' 10'' girl with dirty blonde hair could be seen running up the dragon's back. She ran all the way up to the top of its head, then hopped off as she turned in a perfect 180 degrees, facing the dragon as her right palm was glowing who in turn looked up to see what was leaping off its head. Suddenly, Kamikalo unleashed an alarmingly large yellow ki blast right in the dragon's face.

The dragon was immediately disorented by the surprise attack. Lonewolf took advantage of this as he pointed at the dragon, "Charge!" He cried out. Pana summoned numerous sharp icycles that hovered right in front of her, she then pointed at the dragon, "Die!" She yelled. The icycles sailed through the air, and punctured the dragon on various parts of its chest. Hajimate held up his right palm facing his palm upward as a black energy ball formed just above his opened hand. Numerous black magical arrows zoomed towards the dragon, having the same effect as Pana's spell did.

As icycles and magical arrows sailed through the air, Lonewolf charged forward as he held his rapier in his left hand. He leaped high into the air as he turned his blade upside down and attempted to puncture the dragon in the heart. However, his blade wasn't able to puncture the dragon's thick carcass entirely. He just hung there on the dragon's chest, "Sonnova..." Lonewolf cursed under his breath as he tried desperately to use the momentum of his hanging body to thrust his blade in deeper.

"Watch your head, Wolfy." Kamikalo jumped out from behind Lonewolf and performed a perfect roundhouse kick, hitting the bottom of Lonewolf's rapier and knocking it further into the dragon's chest, piercing its heart and killing it immediately. "Watch it!" Lonewolf plucked the short Kamikalo off the ground and dived out of the way as the dragon fell on its stomache, dead. Lonewolf's upper lip curled as he stared at the grey dragon's corpse.

"I hate dragons." He said with a tone of complete disgust.

"Thanks, Wolfy!" Kamikalo patted Lonewolf hard on the back, causing him to nearly fall forward. "Uh...no prob. Thank you for helping us out with this dragon. He would've surprise attacked us if it weren't for you." Kamikalo shook her head, "Nah, it was Juggalo Josh who fired those shots earlier." She pointed at Juggalo Josh who stood leaning his back against the jacaranda tree in front of the guild. He held his rifle lazily atop his right shoulder as he held the butt of it with his right hand. A whiskey bottle was in his left hand. He saluted the group with his bottle and took a swig.

Just then, the rookie dragoons ran out from the front door, armed and ready for action, only to stand staring at the dead dragons in confusion. "They're a little late..." Stated Hajimate sarcastically. Lonewolf scratched the back of his head, "Heh...yeah." He walked over to the group of dragoons and announced that the fight was over. Dissapointed, the group of guild members head back into the guild's front door. Juggalo Josh headed back inside with them.

An audible grunting noise can be heard from behind the green dragon's corpse. Lonewolf peered over the dead dragon's body only to see a half-naked Majik trying to pick up the dragon's severed tail. "Um.." Lonewolf began, "What the hell are you doing?" He asked as he lifted an eyebrow. Majik looked up at Lonewolf, he seemed rather annoyed by Lonewolf's question, "What the hell does it look like?! I'm going to try to pawn this dragon's tail for gold!" Lonewolf sighed and shook his head as he sat atop the green dragon's dead body. "I thought you tried that with the last dragon we killed..?" He seemed genuinely unamused as he asked this. "That tail was too heavy!" Returned Majik. "What makes you think this tail will be any less heavy then the last?" Majik seemed dumbfounded by this question, "Duh!! Cause this dragon is way smaller!" Lonewolf's eyebrows flickered up, now he was amused. "Is that a fact? As I recall it was about the same size as this one." Majik grunted loudly, still not able to budge the inert tail, "You need to go get your eyes checked then!" Lonewolf rolled his eyes as he stood up and turned around, " Whatever." He said as he hopped off the dead body.

As he headed back to the guild's front door, he noticed Pana about to enter the door as well. "Hey.." He called out to her before she entered the guild. She stopped and turned to regard Lonewolf. "Thank you. For helping us, I mean." He said. Pana smiled warmly and nodded, then stepped through the door. Such a slient girl, he thought to himself. He wondered what secrets she were keeping, if any at all.

A hand clasped down on Lonewolf's shoulder from behind. He turned to see Hajimate smiling broadly, "Well well well, Mr. Casanova. Now I see why you guys are called 'dragoons'." Lonewolf acknowledged the compliment, but one thing confused him; "'Mr. Casanova'..?" He asked. Hajimate laughed audibly, "Haha! Oh come on man, you know you're diggin' on the blue-haired chick." He winked at Lonewolf who in turn turned a bright red, "What?! No I'm not!" Hajimate flickered his eyebrows upward, "Oh yeah? Then what was that all about?" He took a moment to imitate Lonewolf's serious face, "'Hey...'" He began with an over exhaggerated deep voice, "'Thank you. For helping us, I mean.'" He smiled mockingly afterward.

Lonewolf shrugged, "So what? I was merely thanking her for helping us out." Hajimate rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms, "Whatever, man. I saw the way you were looking at her." Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed, "I'm just...curious about her." Hajimate chuckled to himself as he patted Lone on the back and headed back inside, "Yeah yeah, you go ahead and keep telling yourself that. Personally, I think you have the hots for her. But hey! I don't blame ya, she is pretty cute." He smiled mockingly again as he stepped back into the guild, shutting the door behind him.

"Aww, what does HE know." Lonewolf grumbled to himself as he headed towards the jacaranda tree. He placed his hands in his pockets as he watched the sun set. the colors of the sunset were breathtakingly beautiful. He used to watch sunsets every day while he was first mate on the Executioner, but out of all the sunsets he had seen in his life none beat the beauty of the sunsets on the island of Croatia. He wasn't exactly sure why that was. Perhaps it was because he was finally in a place he could call "home" he thought.

"Hee hee! You're so cute, Wolfy!" The familiar voice caused Lonewolf to blush a bright red once again. Kamikalo had heard the entire conversation about Pana from atop one of the jacaranda tree's branches. "Getting all flustered like that when Hajimate accused you of having a crush on Pana. You don't have to let your pride keep you from revealing your true feelings, you know."

Oh God, not another one...thought Lonewolf.

"I don't have feelings for her, Kami. I hardly know the girl, and when I try to get to know her she just shrugs me off. Besides...my heart belongs to someone else..." Kamikalo seemed interested as she hopped off the tree branch she was sitting on and stood looking up at Lonewolf. "Really? Who?" Lonewolf looked out into the horizon. "Her name was Stephanie. She passed away just recently..." Kamikalo lowered her head sadly, "Oh...sorry to hear that, Lonewolf."

Wow. For once Kamikalo called him by his full name. This was definately a first.

"It's ok." He stated as if it were nothing, though he was still hurting inside. "You did a good job today against the dragons." He said, quickly changing the subject. Kamikalo smiled widely, "You think so? Yeah, I have been training pretty hard lately." She added modestly. Lonewolf nodded, "I've noticed. Glad to have you on our side." Lonewolf patted Kamikalo on the back as hard as she usually pats him. She lurched forward as she cried out in pain, "Ouch! That hurt you jerk!" She shoved Lonewolf hard, causing him to trip over a tree root and land on his butt.

"That's what you get!" Said Kamikalo as she pointed at Lonewolf accusatingly. "Anyway..." She began as her expression softened. She held out a hand to help Lonewolf up. She pulled him up with ease, surprising Lonewolf with her strength. "...I wanted to thank you for pushing me out of the way from that dragon. If it had smashed me, I'd probably be about 3 feet shorter." Lonewolf seemed confused, "Didn't you already thank me..?" He asked. Kamikalo nodded, "Yeah I did. But not like this.." She stood on her very tip toes as she grabbed Lonewolf's head and broght it down to hers then kissed Lonewolf on the cheek and headed back to the guild's front door. She looked back at the speechless Lonewolf before entering, "I know how it feels to lose someone close to you. Be strong, Wolfy!" She winked then entered the guild.

Lonewolf smiled despite himself, then turned back to look at the sunset. He no longer thought of the past. Instead, he thought about the future of his guild.

Chapter 21: Answers

The sun had completely set and the moon began to rise in the horizon as the sky changed from orange to dark purple. Lonewolf finally headed back inside the guild, where he was greeted by Hajimate's voice coming from one of the couches in the lounge. "Hey Lone! Kaze is up!"

Lonewolf walked over to the lounge. There, he saw Hajimate sitting in a chair across from Kaze who was lying down on the couch and rubbing his forehead. Pana stood above Kaze and looked up at Lonewolf as she smiled, "I cured him." She said simply. Lonewolf nodded and returned Pana's smile, "Thank you." He stated, as he stood by Kaze, crossing his arms.

"Ugh...w...where am I?" Asked Kaze, still dazed from Hajimate's blast. "You're in the guild's lounge. Hajimate blew you away outside the guild's arena, remember?" Kaze paused for a moment, then nodded, "Yes...yes, I remember." He pushed himself to sit up. "Well then..." began Lonewolf as he found a chair to sit in. "I've already heard Haj's side of the story...now let's hear yours." He looked over at Aerial who was standing behind the bar, "Aerial, get our guest here something strong." Aerial smiled and nodded, "Comin' right up!" He turned around and began mixing various drinks behind the counter. Lonewolf turned to regard the fireplace and pointed out his right index finger. A small burst of fire shot from his fingertip, scorching the logs within the fireplace immediately.

"Now that we're nice and comfy..we can start by talking about this..." Lonewolf pulled out the golden ring from his vest pocket, the light from the fireplace caused the green gem atop the ring to sparkle a bit. He placed the ring down on a small table in front of the couch Kaze was sittiing on. Hajimate glared at the ring as Lonewolf set it down. Kaze nodded, "Yes. The Ring of Indoctrination."

Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "Alright, so this ring takes over the mind of its victims. I know that much. What I would like to know is where this ring came from and why is it in your possesion?" Hajimate remained silent, keeping his word to Lonewolf that he would listen to what his cousin had to say, though he made it quite obvious he wasn't enjoying it. He fidgetted in his chair impatiently, not making eye-contact with Kaze at all. Pana remained silent as she stood by the fireplace for some warmth.

Kaze nodded at Lonewolf, "The ring is enchanted with an old necromancy spell. As for its whereabouts, I do not know." Lonewolf nodded, "Fair enough, Hajimate didn't know either. Now why did you have it?" Just then, Violet scurried over with both arms wrapped around a glass cup, the drink seemed to be quite heavy for her as she stumbled every couple of steps. She handed the drink over to Kaze who bowed his head courteously in return then took a sip of his drink. He looked over at Hajimate who didn't return his glance then looked back at Lonewolf, "After my father had ordered Hajimate's assasination, I quickly learned of this and attempted to murder my own father. Brainwashing my family members was bad enough as it is, but killing my own flesh and blood. That's when I knew my father had gone too far. Luckily, my father had spared my life (and mind) as long as I didn't interfere with his plan to brainwash Kain and the others, so I had the element of surprise. However, my father must've forseen my inevitable treachery and used his ring to take over my mind as well. Enslaved for about ten years under my father's control, I was nothing more then a mere puppet. He forced me to destroy small villages, murder peasants and farmers in order to claim the island of Croatia. However, during one of my invasion missions, I suffered severe head trauma, I was knocked unconscious."

Kaze paused to show Lonewolf and Hajimate a slight bump on the side of his head. "When I came to, the mind control spell was gone. I had somehow regained my senses. I used this to my advantage and upon my return to the castle, I pretended to still be under my father's control. Then, when he least suspected it, I snatched away the ring and escaped from Merilith. I would've used the ring if I could, but sadly I have no idea how to use it. In fact..." He looked over at Hajimate with hopeful eyes, "...I had hoped Hajimate would find out how to use the spell. Seeing as how he is knowledgeable about magical spells and artifacts. That was one of the reasons why I had tracked him down." Hajimate looked away in disgust.

"What was the other reason?" Asked Lonewolf. Kaze looked back at Lone, "The other reason is quite obvious. Hajimate and I had both been betrayed by family. I seeked to join forces with him and take back Merilith with this magical ring." He nodded at the ring that sat in the middle of the small table. Hajimate finally looked up at his cousin, "So...that's why you've been following me around all this time."

Kaze nodded. Hajimate smirked as he closed his eyes, "Heh. That's quite a story, Kaze. It only took you...what? ten years to come up with it?" Kaze seemed hurt, "I'm not lying..." He said sadly, knowing that it was no use trying to convince his stubborn cousin. Hajimate stood up quickly as he growled at Kaze with his crimson red eyes, "Even if you aren't lying, what the ******** does it matter?! You were too much of a coward to stop your father from brainwashing my father and brother!! You have some nerve to come crawling to me now after helping your father carry out the beginning of his plan!"

Kaze looked down in shame, "Yes...you're right. I am a coward...but what would you have done if you were in my shoes? Side with your father? Or die in vain?" Hajimate scoffed at that question, "I would die in HONOR!" Kaze seemed unamused, "Apparently, you and I see things differently then. I chose to aid my father until I could find a way to stop him..."

Hajimate interrupted him, "Yet you go and get yourself brainwashed as well! How ingenius of you." He said that last sentence with a touch of sarcasm. "...." Kaze remained silent. Lonewolf decided to intervene, "Give him a break, Haj. He tried. Besides, he's here now with that magical ring no less. So we win." He looked over at the ring, "All we have to do is find out how to use that thing." Hajimate grew silent. Lonewolf did have a point after all. Kaze nodded at Lonewolf and smiled, "Yes." He agreed. Pana remained slient as she merely observed the others' bickering.

"Waitaminute." Hajimate intervened, "How can we be so sure that that ring isn't just a fraud?" Kaze's eyebrows furrowed as he seemed to be quite fed up with Hajimate's distrustful attitude. "What other choice do you have?" He hissed. Hajimate shrugged as he began counting with his fingers, "Kill you. Help Lonewolf recruit more members. Wage war on Kratos. Kill him. Restore peace to Croatia." He smiled at Kaze menacingly, who in turn glared at him.

Lonewolf stood up as he seperated the two cousins. "Woah woah woah. Hold up. Nobody's going to kill anyone around here. Hajimate..." Lonewolf turned to regard the stubborn demon, "...lighten up. Your cousin has already proven his innocence by bringing us this ring. As for it being a fraud, that's highly unlikely. I say he's 'innocent until proven guilty'. So take this ring..." He picked up the ring from the table and shoved it into Hajimate's chest, "...and find out how to use it. As for you Kaze..." Lonewolf turned to regard him, "...you WILL be watched at all times. So I'd advise not to try anything while you're here."

Kaze nodded respectfully as Hajimate just glared at Lonewolf, "You're lucky I respect you, Wolf. Otherwise, I would've ripped your head right off your neck just now." He placed the magical ring in his pocket and stormed off to his dorm room. Lonewolf ignored Hajimate's threat and looked down at Kaze, "C'mon." He began, "I'll show you to your dorm room. Since you and Hajimate are obviously having problems, it'd be a good idea to give you a room on the second floor instead of the first. Follow me." He made his way upstairs with Kaze following him.

Pana shrugged as everyone left and walked over to the bar. "I'll have some vodka and some orange juice, please." She asked politely. Aerial smiled and nodded, "Comin right up!" He grabbed a glass, poured some vodka from a bottle, then squeezed a couple of oranges into it. He mixed the contents a bit with a silver spoon, then handed the drink to Pana, but before she could grab the glass out of his hand, Aerial pulled the glass away from her. "Wait...how old are you?" Pana smiled and winked, "Old enough." She stated and snatched the glass out of Aerial's hand. He just shrugged as he attempted a conversation, "So...where you from?" He asked.

"A faraway place." She stated as she took a sip of her drink. Aerial lifted an eyebrow, "Could you be a little more specific..?" Pana kept her blue eyes low as she drank her drink quietly to herself, "No." She said simply. "O...k..? Um...So what do you make of this 'Kaze' guy? Pretty suspicious character, huh?" He asked, changing the subject. Pana shook her head, "Not at all." Aerial seemed curious, "What makes you so sure?" He asked. Pana shrugged, "I dunno. I guess I don't really sense any bad vibes coming from him. You can tell when somebody is evil or not." Aerial lifted an eyebrow, "You can?" Pana finished her drink and nodded, "Mmm-hmm. Well, I got to go. Thanks for the drink, sweety." Pana got up from the stool she was sitting on and walked back to her dorm room located on the first floor. Aerial couldn't help, but feel rather confused.

After a few minutes, Lonewolf introduced Kaze to his new room, then headed back downstairs. As he reached the lounge again, a nice ice-cold glass of rum awaited him. "You read my mind." Stated Lonewolf as he thanked Aerial and took a seat atop one of the bar's stools. He sat hunched over with both elbows atop the bar's counter and took a sip of his drink. "Tough day, huh?" Said Aerial as he cleaned the top of the counter with a rag, Violet was happily helping him with her own little rag. "I think that would be an understatement." Said Lonewolf with a sarcastic tone.

"Heh, yeah. That was a helluva fight you guys had out there...then again, the dragon fights are always pretty hectic." Lonewolf took another swig of his rum, "Yeah." He agreed. "I would've helped you guys out, but..." Lonewolf smiled, "Heh, no need to apologize, Aerial. I know you're not exactly the fighting type." Aerial seemed a bit embarrassed, "Yeah, I know...hey Lone?" Lonewolf's eyebrows flickered up, "Yeah?" Aerial hesitated at first, "You never really told me about your past. Before you became a pirate, I mean."

Lonewolf seemed a little surprised at the sudden interest in his past. He took a sip of his drink then placed his glass back down on the counter, "There's not much to tell, really. I was an orphan, trained how to use magic by a sorcerer named Locke. Fell in love. Got my heart broken. Started a new life in piracy." He took another swig of his drink. Aerial grabbed a bottle of rum and poured more into Lonewolf's glass. Lone nodded in thanks as he took another sip, "Why you ask?"

"No reason." Aerial shrugged, "Was just curious. I mean, you're so brave and strong. I was just wondering how you got that way." Lonewolf breathed out a small laugh as he smiled to himself. Same 'ol Aerial...always glorifying everyone except himself. "What about you?" He asked, changing the subject. "How come you joined Vega's crew?"

"Me?" Aerial seemed rather surprised by Lonewolf's question. "Well I..uh..um..." Lonewolf laughed a little, "Heh, if you don't want to tell me, that's fine." Aerial shook his head, "No no no! I do. I was just surprised cause you never really asked me about my past before..." Lonewolf shrugged, "Honestly? That's cause I never wanted to talk about my past before." Aerial nodded, "Oh...ok." Lonewolf lifted an eyebrow, "So..?" Aerial seemed confused, "So what?"

"Tell me about your past." Said Lonewolf. "Oh, right! Sorry man. Um...let's see...well I grew up in a fishing town. I was raised by my mother since my father had passed away when I was a baby. I think he got killed trying to catch a shark or something...I don't know...anyway, my mom taught me all sorts of great stuff, like cooking, cleaning, etc. One day, my town got raided by pirates, but luckily Cpt. Vega's ship was near enough to notice the commotion and saved us. Ever since that day I wanted to grow up to be just like Cpt. Vega." He smiled broadly.

Aerial was already grown up now and he was absolutely NOTHING like Cpt. Vega...though Lonewolf kept that thought to himself as to not hurt the poor guy's feelings. He nodded, "That's nice, man. Looks like your dream came true." Aerial's eyes opened widely, he looked like a little kid who had just walked into a candy store, "Really?! You really think I'm like Cpt. Vega?" Lonewolf scratched the back of his head, then smiled warmly, "Well obviously you're not much of a fighter, but you definately got the honorable part of the captain. You got an innocent and caring heart, Aerial. That already is something you should be proud of. You don't have to be just like the captain or anyone else for that matter. I'm sure your mother would be proud of how you turned out."

Aerial's eyes glazed over as Lonewolf's words were obviously very touching to him. He nodded and smiled, "You're right. I'm sure she'd be proud too." Aerial hesitated a moment then continued, "You know, Lone...you're the best friend I ever had...actually the only friend." His head sunk low after that last part. Lonewolf's eyebrows furrowed, "That's not true. What about Cpt. Vega and the rest of the crew? And Majik? He's your friend too." He nodded. Aerial shrugged, "Yeah I guess so...but none of them had ever taken the time to actually listen to me. You're a good friend, Lone." Lonewolf smiled ernestly, "...thanks, Aerial." He took another swig of his drink, finishing it up. Aerial smiled back, "Anytime, buddy. Want some more rum?" He held up the bottle of rum questioningly. Lonewolf waved it off, "Nah, no thanks. With the way things have been going on around here, it'd be a good idea to stay sober." Aerial nodded in agreement, "Good call." He put the rum bottle away.

Lonewolf stood up from the stool he was sitting on as he looked over at Hajimate's dorm room door. "Hajimate had mentioned earlier that holy water was a weakness for evil demons. He said there was a lake full of holy water in the forest to the east. He must've been talking about that Forest of Divinity place we saw on that old sign back when we first got on this island, remember?" Aerial seemed confused at first, though the expression on his face slowly changed as his eyes grew wider, "Oh yeah! Yeah, I remember that old rickety sign. So what do you plan on doing? You gonna go stock up on some holy water or something?"

Lonewolf nodded, "That'd be a good idea, right? Wanna come?" Aerial seemed hesitant at first, "I don't know..." Lonewolf smiled, "Oh come on, man. It's just a forest. Besides, if something does attack us, it's not like I can't protect us right? I promise you won't get hurt." He smiled and nodded. "Who's going to take care of the bar while I'm gone?" Just then, Violet walked up to them as she saluted. She looked like a little girl trying to play "soldier". "This one can look after the bar while Master Lonewolf and his friend are gone, master!" Lonewolf smiled and looked back at Aerial. "Well there you have it." Aerial seemed reluctant, "Oh, alright. But I'm going to bring my dagger just in case." Lonewolf shrugged, "That's fine. Go ahead and bring some buckets too while you're back there." He said as he headed out the front door.

It was nighttime now as a full moon lit up the sky with its pale white light. As Lonewolf walked out to the front yard, he heard some grunting coming from the dead dragon's body. Seeing the corpse of the beast reminded him that he needed to get rid of those things before they start to stink up the place. He figured he'd just have the rookies take care of that tomorrow morning. Lonewolf walked over to the corpse to investigate the familiar grunting.

To no surprise at all, Lonewolf saw Majik. He was still trying to move the dragon's tail. At least he had the decency to put his usual clothes on though, thought Lonewolf. He must've gotten cold and ran in to get his clothes while Lonewolf and the others were conversing in the lounge. He decided to talk some sense into Majik...or at least try to get him to stop what he was doing.

"Hey Majik!" He called out, "Me and Aerial are heading into the forest to get some holy water! Wanna come?" Majik continued tugging at the severed dragon tail. "No." He said without looking at Lonewolf. Lone had known Majik a long time and he knew what the magic words were to convince him to accompany him.

"Well, the holy water is located deep within the forest. It won't be very safe, so...it'd be safe to assume that mere pints of that water would sell at a high price." Majik's ears seemed to perk up at the mention of "sell at a high price". He turned around to regard Lonewolf, "How much holy water is located in the forest?" He asked eagerly. "A whole lake." Stated Lone with a mischievous smile. "Well what the hell're we waiting for?! Let's go!" He began to run towards the forest. "Wait up! Aerial is coming too!" Lonewolf cried out in Majik's direction, but to no avail. The kid had money on the mind and Lonewolf knew that nothing would stop him from reaching his goal now.

Aerial walked out the front door of the guild, shutting the door behind him. He wore his usual travel clothes: regular pirate garb, boots, and a 5-inch dagger strapped to his right thigh. "Alright, I'm ready." Stated Aerial. Lonewolf nodded, "C'mon. Majik already left for the forest." Aerial nodded and jogged after Lonewolf as they both attempted to catch up with the impulsive treasure hunter.
