She smiled, flicking her curly tail. "Oh, but it is nice, even though you do it out of pride. It's a wonderful thing to do, I think." She bobbed her head in a nod, smiling at the pale-coated stallion. He looked perfectly suited for his self-appointed occupation, she decided. "And yes, the valley is very tranquil. The only thing that disturbs the calmness of the entire valley is foals and older nequus who enjoy racing and playing in the area. The only worry in the valley is not to eat too much of the grass at once, because if you do I don't think you'll live much longer," she warned with a solemn nod of her slender head. But her bright smile returned, and she turned her body in the direction of the valley. "But you'll have to see for yourself, it's such a beautiful place. A wonderful place to live, too, and even moreso to raise young foals. No worries, and the number of nequus there makes one feel even safer. But it's fairly easy to be alone, too, if you so desire. The constant crowds of nequus can be a bit tiring if one doesn't like too many others around at one time." Her smile continued, as it always did, and she pawed at the ground a couple of times, getting the itch to gallop. "I can give you a tour of the valley, if you'd like, and introduce you to my herdleader and friend, Nyx. I know she'll allow you to stay anyway, but it feels nice to get her permission all the same, so she knows of the newcomers to the herd, if only for a while."

The Ichsa smiled and bowed his head to the mare before him. Truly a unique creature, a wonderful one too. "Well then my lady, let us away," he said with a toss of his head to show himself ready. "I can run fast enough still even in my current state so long as the going is fair," the pale-coated stallion assured his companion. "The sooner we can be at this valley the better; it sounds a beautiful place and I greatly look forward to being shown its hidden treasures by your fair self, Niz."
By the sound of it he would definitely have to report this place to the others. The promise of peace and plenty might coax his reclusive folk into a little wandering. The little ones in particular always seemed to love his stories of the wider world, perhaps they would be able to see a little of it and their parents too.
Sol turned to face the same direction as Nizhoni, assuming that D'ob lay in that direction. A grin spread across his face and the stallion pranced forward a few paces. "If you would be so good as to lead the way Niz?" he said with an enthused toss of his head. The sooner he got moving the better, not only for his curiosity but for his muscles. The movement ought to keep them from stiffening up from his dip in the river. Then there was the fact that it had just been too long since he'd had somebody to run with.
He missed Vince terribly sometimes.

"Yes, the going is quite fair," she said with a bright smile. "The land is mostly flat with several gentle hills, and it is very beautiful." Her smile continued, and she pawed the ground, then pranced forward a few paces as well. "Of course, as I don't think you know the way there yet," she said with a giggle before loping off in the direction of the valley. She wanted to go faster, but maintained her pace to make sure he wouldn't fall behind. That would be a bad thing, she knew. She turned her head to watch him, making sure he was following, and once sure of this fact, she picked up her pace gleefully, a delighted laugh escaping her. Oh, it was just oh so much fun galloping with new friends. "Once we get there and speak with Nyx, I can show you all around the valley. I just know you'll love it!" She called to him, glancing back at him slightly as she spoke so he'd be able to hear her better.

As the mare sprang into a gallop Sol flung himself after her, straining every muscle in his body to keep pace with the fleet creature. He felt slow beside her but could not resent that. So gay, so innocent and so alive she was. If only there were more like her in the world.
"I am glad to hear that Niz," he replied with a grin. "Rough terrain agrees with me not at all at the moment, though I hope to recover my agility in time." Hopefully soon even; the peaceful valley ahead promised much time to re-train his damaged body into its former state. Once he was well again he could go back to fighting his cause, though he suspected that D’ob would now be a frequent pot of call for him.
"I am quite sure that I shall adore it; if you think it beauteous then I am sure I shall also." D'ob, valley of plenty shown to him by one that not only knew it but loved it too. What more could he ask for? "I hope that we remain friends for many a turn of the seasons Niz," Sol called over the wind of their speed with a smile. "You are like no other that I have ever met, and I am very glad indeed to have met you."

The creme mare saw that Sol was running as fast as he could, or she thought he was, so she refrained from increasing her speed. In fact, she slowed ever so slightly so she could be closer to him as they galloped across the fields, not wanting to leave him behind. "I'm glad to have met you too, Sol. Out of all of the nequus I've met, you're one of the nicest, and I also hope we remain friends for a long time," she said with a smile. He certainly was one of the nicest. He helped other nequus and sought to make their world a better place. How could one get any nicer than that?
She continued on with a bright smile that was normal for her nature, and she turned her head slightly to gaze at her companion. "You will recover very quickly at the valley. You're not the first that has come to there to recuperate, either. The rich grass, beautiful weather, good water, and gentle terrain is wonderful, especially if one needs to restore their health." Her smile continued, as did her pace, and her thoughts traveled to her new friend. It would be easy for him to recover at the valley, she knew, but as with Maurice she hoped he would stay a while longer. But, as with Maurice as well, he had other, more noble and more important things to do than hang around the valley. "I shall introduce you first to Nyx when we arrive, and after that I shall give you a tour of the valley," she said with her bright smile. Yes, this was the start of another wonderful friendship.

The Ichsa stallion smiled at his fleet companion's compliment. It was good, as he had stated, to be thought well of. Nothing else in the world quite compared to sincere praise; it affirmed his own belief in himself and only gave him more determination to fight for the world he envisaged. Thinking on it, the valley of D'ob sounded like a truly wonderful place if it held more folk like Nizhoni. A place he might like to linger in even once he had recovered.
"I look forward to both, Niz," the dark-eyed Nequus said with a grin as he continued to stretch his stride as far as he could. "Perhaps, if your Nyx does not object, I shall remain in her lands for longer than it takes me to heal. I should like to meet some Nequus whom I am neither about to fight nor fight for. It has been too long since I simply met people for the sake of meeting people, I feel."
After all, if he just kept fighting and fighting with never a rest longer than it took his hurts to heal he might forget what he was trying to achieve. He had heard enough stories about those who set out to do good but lost sight of their goals and begun to do evil not to be wary of falling into the same trap. Meeting people in a land that sounded much like he wished the world could be would set his eyes firmly back onto his goal and keep him for starting to fight for the wrong future.

"I'm glad, Sol," she said happily, continuing to gallop swiftly across the plains. And she was truly happy, as always, her heart, her whole body full to bursting with positive emotions. Normally on such occasions she would burst out into a swift gallop, as fast as her slender legs could carry her, but she couldn't do that now, she didn't want to out-pace her new friend and leave him behind. That would be rude, mean, and not fun. Instead, to rid herself of some of it so she wasn't quite so full, she looked for any objects that might become obstacles. Stumps, bushes, nequus... Anything. Seeing one such obstacle, a large bush, she spread her wings as far as they would go and paused for a split second before she pushed herself off the ground. She soared over the bush for a few seconds, legs frozen until right before she touched down, and she continued at her gallop as though nothing had come in her way. She folded her wings again, but kept them so that she could open them in a second if she found another obstacle to jump over, but she quickly glanced behind her to see if she had out-paced Sol. She hadn't, and she slowed a tad, just to make sure. Jumping was such fun, and she couldn't help but laugh aloud now. She had made a new friend, she was racing towards her home, the valley, and she could jump and race across the grassy lands at will. Today was a good day.

Sol couldn't help a smile at Nizhoni's display of exuberance. Perhaps soon he would be well enough to join her in such antics; jumping practice never went amiss and it was always more fun to do with a friend than to do alone. A friend. For a day that had started out so poorly the stallion found himself in remarkably good spirits. He was sore, yes, but he was a bit cleaner now and heading somewhere that he could recover by the side of a new friend.
As he galloped on by the other Ichsa’s side Sol could almost feel the legacy of a hard winter melting away with the snow that thinned as they neared Nizhoni's home. Yes; today was, despite a shaky start, a good day.
