Ashe nodded once, "It'sss kweh good to know that, that you care kweh about otherssss more then yourssself." She smiled at her friend, "Though I dissslike the kweh resssult meanssss you kweh have to hurt yourssself even if it kweh doessssn't feel assss kweh if anything isss wrong." She shook her head, "We all have to learn, it isss a kweh part of life, no?"
She snorted, rubbing her arms, "I kweh hope the one who learnsss isss kweh fire-tail, he needsss a kweh good wake-up call." She grimaced, her face unable to decide whether it wanted to snarl or grin. She would enjoy teaching him a lesson, even if she had to be the bait per se.
The gurgle of a hungry stomach drew her attention away from those thoughts, "Hungry, kweh eh?" She asked, grinning over at her friend, "Would you kweh like to go find sssomething to eat, then?" She stood and offered a hand to her starred friend.

Fiara looked distressed, "Is it good?" She murmured before attempting to explain better. "That's not how it happened, I wanted to know just what my fire could do, the burns I got happened by accident, I didn't purposely burn myself, I, I was just careless, and curious. I know it is not good to damage myself but I don't yet know if it is permanent or not, they just happened recently." She made up her mind then to leave out the detail of her eye and face, unless her friend noticed and pressed the issue. Fiara figured that Ashe would begin to pity her. "They could still heal."
Switching subjects again she sorta agreed with Ashe, "He does..." Her stomach gurgled again and she began to push herself slowly up from the ground, her right hand was extended out for Ashe and then retracted and the other offered, with the burns marking her fur she wasn't sure if Ashe, or anyone else would want to take her flaming paw in theirs.
"I haven't eaten since breakfast, the day passed quickly. Anyway, yes I think finding something to eat is a good idea, you'll join me right?" Fiara didn't want to cut short their reunion just because she was a little hungry, a lot hungry.

Ashe merely smiled, "Whether it isss kweh good or not isss not the point," She pointed out softly, yellow eyes focused on the burns her friend had carried. Each one was a scar, something that would be remembered whether or not her friend chose it. Scars were not all bad, they were a part of life and as such one should cherish both the good and the bad.
"Don't worry, " She said finally, rubbing a scorched bit of fur gently, "There'sss kweh nothing worng with what you did, you probably did kweh better then mossst," She tilted her head to the side, smiling, "Becaussse mossst kweh otherssss would have waited until ssssomething kweh horrible happened to learn anything."
She watched as her friend first reached out with the fiery paw then thought better of it and held out the other. Ashe distinctively retracted her own, "I'm not kweh afraid, Fiara," She said softly, still smiling, "The fire isss kweh a part of you," She shrugged dismissively, "If I kweh get burned or scarred then that issss kweh sssomething I choossse." She grinned down at her friend, "Ssso let'ssss kweh sssee what happenssss, yesss?" She held out her paw again, waiting to see what her friend would do.
A laugh, "Then we ssshould kweh eat!" She proclaimed proudly, grinning, "I know of kweh a very good treat jussst byond the kweh south path, She liked her lips with her long forked tongue, "The fruitsss kweh there are very tasssty."

A look of horror passed through Fiara's eyes, "That would be the last thing that I'd want to happen, I don't want anything horrible to happen." Even though Ashe was gentle some of the scorched fur fell away when it was rubbed, the skin underneath had taken on a grey cast but still felt the same as the rest of her skin, supple and alive, just marred. And where the first burn was, the one she had gotten as a pup, the fur had grown back in a greyish tone instead of the distinct midnight pattern.
Reaching with her right paw again, Fiara gave a tentative smile, "I don't want to hurt people, I don't want them to have to risk anything." She bit her lip as she offered her paw.
"I haven't been south since I was a pup, and I never tried the fruits there, that sounds like a good plan to me."

Ashe smiled, taking the burning paw in hers, barely acknowledging the fact that the flames bit into her green fur, searing it along with her skin. It wasn't a big issue, after all, Fiara was her friend, pain and lasting scars were of little consequence. "Sssee?" She asked finally, as she let go of her friends paw gently. She patted her paw gently, squashing the small tendrils of flame that had ignited, "I lived, I'm kweh fine, there'sss nothing amissss with kweh me." She held it up for inspection, nose wrinkling slightly at the smell.
"I am glad you kweh think ssssuch, Fiara," She told the midnight female honestly, "I do not kweh know what I would do if you did not." She gave her friend a playful grin and jerked her head toward the south, "Let'ssss kweh get going then, ssshall we?" She asked, offering her arm with a grand gesture.

"But," Fiara began, "doesn't it hurt?" Her lip quivered, she almost couldn't believe that her flames lit Ashe, it was like a bad dream come true but then she realized that her family were the only other ones that she had had much contact with and though they had never been burned by her, they were probably immune to her to a certain degree, or the fact that Ashe was so open to it, wanting to show that she accepted Fiara faults and all. "There is a plant that my Fiery father has used for minor burns, I can get some for you, if you want it." Food almost forgotten for the moment, Xiang had used it for little mishaps around the campfire and she had planned to use some on her newest burns, so if it could help them to heal better.
But Ashe offered her arm, so Fiara took at and they went south, "I can get some anytime."

Ashe blinked, looking down at her paw before back at Fiara. "Hmm?" She asked, managing a smile. To tell the truth it hurt quite a bit, but she wasn't sure whether or not to say so or to keep quiet. "Ah, I'm kweh fine," She smiled, "Thank you for kweh asssking." She tilted her head to the side, having never heard of such a plant, "That isss a kweh very interesssting form of kweh medicine." She commented, smiling more.
Ashe grinned at, ignoring the throbbing of pain in her other paw, "Indeed! Firssst we mussst wark get food." She stated, leading the way in the direction she knew the trees were.

As they walked Fiara would glance to her left at Ashe, or sneak a peek at her paw, Ashe had said that she was fine, but Fiara caught the smell of burnt fur and wondered just how badly she was hurt. Fiara piped up with something to talk about, she was comfortable with silence but not with worry, talking about anything even if it wasn't important helped.
"My dads like living outside. My fiery father he cooks for us over a campfire almost every night, he always makes interesting dishes, he's gotten pretty good, or so my d-daddy says." She has almost slipped as said 'daddydaddy' but caught herself with just a little stumble. "And at night we sleep under the stars, unless it rains or is too cold, then it's the caves."

Ashe glanced at her friend, wondering why this sudden subject came up, but not desiring to change it. Why not learn something about her friend's family? There was nothing wrong with it.
"You have two kweh Fathersss?" She asked, surprised. It wasn't like that occurence was rare, Nalikai's mate was a male as well after all, it was just a surprise that Fiara had two of such parents. She shook her head, dismissing the issue, "Ah, my kweh family and I live in a large cottage." She commented absently, "It'sss kweh quite large and it ssseemsss to kweh get bigger every time another one joinsss the kweh family."
She looked over at her friend, "I do not sssleep out in the open kweh very often," She shrugged, "It isss a pleasssant experience." SHe smiled at her friend, "If you're ever in the kweh area of my houssse though, and that weather issss kweh not ssso good, feel free to kweh ssstop by." It was a nice offer, one she extended to few of those she knew.

"Yup!" Fiara answered swiftly and proudly, a true grin lighting her face, she knew that having two male parents wasn't exactly 'normal' but she didn't care in the least, her fathers love was proof enough that it didn't matter. "Just how big is your family?" Fiara wondered at a house that added rooms when needed, she answered that she would really like to see it sometime.
"I was going to offer the same to you, if you ever wanted to, you could come over and spend a night, my dads wouldn't mind. If you don't mind that it is all guys, but it's not hard to find a tree for myself or anything, also we could use the cave for ourselves." Fiara happily continued on with her train of thought on how the time spent would go, maybe to reassure her friend and maybe to keep her mind from worry.
"Jayce, my other brother is really nice though he's quiet and sometimes a loner, he'd probably just say 'hi' and then go off, and my dads like to spend the evenings quietly too. My other father, the one that I look most like, he's sorta blind you see, but after the sun sets he can sorta see things that glow," here she smiled, "like my fiery father.
Oh I'm just going on and on about them sorry..." As they were walking Fiara had become more animated then when she realized that she was doing most of the talking she hushed herself up swiftly.

Ashe laughed, grinning at her friend, "That kweh dependsss," She answered finally, "My kweh blood family or the family I kweh live with," She smiled at her friend, "You can kweh come over anytime to sssee my kweh housse. It'sss fun there."
Ashe smiled and nodded, "I would kweh love to come sssee your family and ssepnd sssome more kweh time with you." She laughed softly, "And there isss nothing kweh wrong with sssleeping out under the ssstarsss." She nodded again, "It will kweh be a fun experience."
A soft smile, it was nice to know someone who's family was always with them, unlike her own. She hardly saw her blood relatives anymore, but she didn't really mind, she had her father and her other family. They truely cared about everyone in the family, even if almost none of them were related by blood.
A grin and Ashe reached over to ruffle her friend's hair, a habit she had acquired when dealing with her siblings, "I don't kweh mind," She stated truthfully, "I want to knwo about your family, you kweh my friend, right?"

Looking slightly startled Fiara swiftly used her free paw to smooth her bangs back down, not at all insulted, just still hiding behind the midnight locks.
"I suppose the ones you live with, we can call them 'extended family', but you can always count them all up." Fiara laughed a little not guessing that Ashe's family was nearly as big as it truthfully was. "If I was counting that way, I'd say seven. Me, two brothers, two dads, two uncles. Though it is usually just four of us at 'home', my 'uncles' are both Coffees," Fiara had lowered her voice as if sharing a secret, "scary sometimes; they don't live with us but there is still that familiar connection. Jayce spends a lot of his time with Jedrek too." As they continued to walk, a wonderfully fruity smell began to drift into Fiara's nose, she took a deep breath and her mouth began to water.
"My very best friend," Fiara had once again taken Ashe's arm as they went south further, "So what about your family, Ashe, with so many it must be hard to find some quiet around your house?"

Ashe grinned, "Hmm, Let'ssss kweh sssseee here," She held up her free paw, counting off, "In my "real" family we kweh have My father, Ryuune, My mother kweh Mysssidia, my brothersss, Naoki and kweh Lore and my sssissster, kweh Vassshti." She smiled, remembering the few times she had met her siblings. She grinned at Fiara, "Really? Coffeesss?" She laughed, "I've never met one, but I kweh would think they're ssscary!" She shook her head, "But where wasss kweh I? Oh, right, family."
She ran a paw through her hair and winced slightly as it hurt but quickly dismissed it, "Thossse that kweh live at my houssse are..." She began counting off again, "Ryuune and kweh myssself, Uncle Nalikai, Auntie kweh Kechara, Hiro, kweh, Gabriel, and a new kweh feather," She grinned, "We have a kweh lot of people."
Ashe smiled at Fiara's comment, unsure of how to respond, "Actually," She mused after a moment, "I can kweh get away whenever I like," She smiled, "It'sss kweh quite easssy to and I love to be around othersss kweh sssometimesss." She shrugged, lifting her nose to breathe in the sweet scent, "Ah! We're kweh getting clossse!"

Stepping up her pace just a little, her tummy's rumble urging her on, though still letting Ashe lead, Fiara nodded thinking that she was more a loner than her friend was. Or she just needed more alone space. Though when Fiara looked over at Ashe she couldn't help but smile, not always, she thought.
"Well they are both unusual, even for Coffees," Not that Fiara was an expert, she just repeated what shes been told and what she'd seen, "Jedrek is well, dead, but he still walks around and stuff, I heard him called a 'zombie' once, he's not mean or anything but he's still got this scariness about him."

Ashe sensed her friend's need to eat and quickened her own pace to match hers, smiling all the way. She hoped her friend would enjoy the food from the tree, it would be pointless to come otherwise. The trees had such a variety too! Some had sweet fruits, others sour, some tangy and some were even gummy.
An ear flicked toward the midnght girl at her words and she turned to smile, "Unusssual you kweh sssay?" She asked, wanting to know how a Coffee could be unusual, who could judge on what a Coffee would act like? Shaking off those thoughts she listened to her friend explain about her undead uncle.
Suddenly she let out a laugh, that thought was just too amusing. When she finished she blinked and looked away, embarrassed at her actions, "Sssorry, Fiara," She said apologetically, I didn't kweh mean to be rude, it'ssss kweh jussst," She gave her a small smile, "The thought of kweh an undead uncle isss jusssst kweh really amusssing to me." She shook her head, unable to explain it further.
