Memories!! -Was a quest reply... part 1 (Hughe)

It was rather late in the afternoon and Hughe was feeling a little restless. He felt like there was something he needed to do, but wasn't sure what. He'd been pacing around his room staring at the floor with a frustrated look for about 20 minutes now. "I don't get it." he muttered finally lifting his head slowly, "I just don't... feel right." he added shaking his head during the pause.

He eventually decided a walk might exhaust him to the point where he could get some sleep and worry later. Besides, there were areas of the mansion that he'd not yet mapped out. Into the hall, follow the wall, down some stairs, turn sharp left, follow the wall...

The jester soon found himself in front of a door pretty much on it's own. It looked in a horrible condition compared to the others he'd seen. "Basement?" He wondered aloud as he tried to open the door. It was a little stiff, but he managed to get it open without too much difficulty. There was something about the room that lured Hughe in, like an insect to a bug-zapper.

There was a small window on the opposite side of the room, letting in a little light from the setting sun. The air around Hughe felt somewhat thick in his lungs, so he opened the window. THUD-CLICK!
Hughe snapped around as quick as lightning to see the door closed. "For goodness' sake..." he muttered as he shook his head and sighed heavily to himself. Why was I so jumpy just now? He thought trying to pull the door open again.

SHOCK! The man tried to open the door once again...
FAIL! And again...
LOCKED! And again with no luck.
The door to the basement appeared to be locked, but Hughe didn't have a key. The jester sat himself down against the wall on the floor because there were no chairs in the room. He frowned for a second and tilted his head to the left, why was he not banging on the door like mad? Why did he seem so cool about being locked in a room with little light?

Each of Hughe's arms felt like they were in a vise. He heard a loud clank and a soft jingle of keys close to his ear. "Insult the King will you? Of all people I'd have thought you'd know your limits, Hughe. How many times have I told you to watch yourself?" A firm, annoyed voice growled.
"To many times, my friend. To many times..." The jester replied smiling, "But you of all people should know I don't follow what I don't believe. Someone had to do something."
"Well you did something all right. You got yourself thrown away for life. If you were lucky that is." the other voice replied as Hughe was tossed into a dungeon cell. Looking back at the guard, the jester sat upright with a strange smile. The guard rolled his eyes and joined the other on his way back to the celebration.

Hughe blinked for a second and shook his head. "How could I have possibly forgotten? That cell was horrible." He said aloud as if someone else was in the room with him. His minded mulled over his memory of the dungeon cell in every detail.
- The smell of urine and rotting meat
- The rats that caused more deaths to the prisoners than the hangings
- The straw he had to sleep on at night
- The cold breeze freezing him to an ice-cube
- The heavy, musty feel of the air
- The webs that formed between the bars on the tiny 'window'
- The lack of light and entertainment
It was all coming back to him. Not really something he'd have liked to remember... Especially not one of the guards. The one that took advantage of the fact that without the proper food and water requirements, the prisoners were too weak to fight him off.

A shudder traveled down the jester's spine for two reasons. The memories of the dungeon and the cool night air that was now drifting through the window. "So late already?" He commented standing himself up with a little sway. "I think I understand a little better now..." Hughe added studying the room lit only but the moon light.

He spotted an old looking sewing machine of the other side of the room and headed over with a smile. Before he was a jester, Hughe had been a tailor. "I hope I still remember everything..." He said to himself removing the needle from the machine(after a little fiddling) and taking some thread that lay next to it.

New Look!! -Quest reply... Part 2 (Hughe)

After managing to get out of his situation by squeezing through the window, Hughe slunk through the halls trying to dodge everyone. He managed to get back into his room without any suspicious looks at least. He pulled out the needle and thread and placed them on a table next to his bed.
He then unrolled some fabric he'd managed to pinch on his way through and started designing a newer costume.

He started with a new 'undershirt' which he made from a red fabric. It hugged his body tightly, but in a comfortable way so he could still move around.
Hughe's 'over shirt' was made so it was extra loose, looking as if it were going to fall off him. He'd cut a large V-shape out of the front of it and kept the sleeves only just long enough to reach his elbows to let the red shirt underneath be seen just as much as the other. The second shirt(the loose one) was made using royal blue and gold fabric he'd cut into diamonds and stitched together, giving him a more jester-like appearance.
Now for the lower half. He'd decided to wear some darker coloured leggings only because there was no need for anything too fancy.

---------------

When Hughe woke up the next morning he felt different. He frowned for a second of to before slipping out of his bed. "Strange" he muttered feeling his forehead to check for a temperature. He then felt something light tickle the side of his face, making him jump. Dragging his hand out in front of him his fingers pick up some long strands of hair.
He got turned to see his reflection in the mirror, but didn't see what he usually did. He blink once or twice realizing that his hair was a lot shorter than when he went to bed. At the back, his hair reached just past his shoulders, while the front was cropped so the strands ended in line with his nose.
