It is true that the majority of Christians really don't know much beyond "bible stories" and what their pastors tell them. Most people don't read the bible. They simply attend church and "go through the motions" believing that is all that's required to make it to heaven.

They may not follow a leader like the pope, and they may not read the bible, but the pastor does, and I'm sure you've heard Christians talk about how they like a specific pastor and his messages. The pastor is the one who delivers the words of the bible to the people. Granted, some will slip their own agendas into their sermons, but in that respect, the same is true of every religion.

What about the Anglicans?
I was baptised as a baby and attended church only until age 4, so I don't recall anything. I left that faith behind long ago in childhood, and suffice to say, my mother isn't the greatest at explaining her beliefs.
I'd still like to know just what my parents got me into as a young child.
