Carilee hugged the book to her chest and peered at the store front. "Why thank you," she said after a moment, though she wasn't looking at the boy anymore. "That's quite convenient." It looked like quite the place to buy unusual things, that was for sure. Though really it lacked the demonic air she'd been hoping for...

She wrinkled up her nose, considering it. No harm trying. Carilee gave the shop a nod of approval, pushed her glasses back up her nose, and marched her way inside. Even if the owner didn't have a Sword of Bestial Summoning, she might be able to find a few toad's eyes or something. Or maybe a witch's finger.

A bit put off over being disregarded so quickly after showing her the store, Jarrick followed the girl into the shop. Inside, he was greeted by a more than welcome cooling spell and the small crowd typical of most any cooled shop. With no particular purpose in mind, he meandered through the aisles, gazing over the varied merchandise. Not really paying attention to the products, he moved on, still curious as to what the hurried girl earlier was after and just a little worried about what the younger looking one was doing. This was certainly more entertaining than looking for work. Plus, this detour could always end up being worth his while.

Carilee squinted at the nearest shelf. Hmm, nothing useful there. Several interesting little trinkets though, were she tempted. The girl gingerly poked a small mechanical frog sitting on one of the shelves and stared at it for a long moment before moving on.

Well, while she was here, she might as well check that she had everything else she needed. Carilee plopped herself down in the nearest wooden armchair and cracked open her book. Handling a minion... yes, that was it. Carilee traced her finger down the list. Bogwart, check. A silver spoon, check. Three pinches of rabbit fur, check. Hmm...

Meanwhile, back in Hock's case, a sword that Carilee would have been very interested in indeed was considering its options.

Colby stared at the document set before her. Debating whether or not to sign it. Could she really trust this man, or should she read the entire paper, to make sure he wasn’t tricking her into signing something she normally wouldn’t have. Her eyes skimmed the first paragraph of the paper. The wording was so exquisite, that even if she had chosen to read the entire thing Colby wouldn’t have been able to figure out any trick.

“Okay.” She said and took the pen and scribbled her name on the line at the bottom. “There…is that good?” She asked, already feeling a bit uncomfortable with signing such an official looking document.

Hock eyed the signature carefully and doubled checked that the girl was holding the correct sword. Yes, all that was good. He blew on the ink briefly to make sure it was dry before folding up the piece of paper with an air of finality. "Yes, it's good. You may go..."

A few other customers had entered while he was busy with the girl, Hock noted. More young ones, though there was a chance they might actually be in here to buy. A slim one, but a chance. He let his eye roam, wary for thieves.

“Thank-you.” Colby said, barely keeping a sarcastic edge from her voice. It was hard to be respectful to some one who had accused her of being a thief. She shuffled towards the door, but her attention was caught by yet another trinket in the shop. Not too surprising, considering there were so many. It was a looking glass. The edge was silver and had swirling designs engraved into it. Lying next to it was a brush of similar design. “Wow.” Colby breathed as she bet down to examine it.

Unintentionally making a ring around the store, Jarrick wandered closer to the front and the display cases where to nicer merchandise was known to be kept. As he looked back behind himself at one of the swords that he'd failed to see before, he forgot to look at what was in front of him and backed into his second person that day. At least he didn't hit her hard, but that didn't keep him from being embarrassed when he looked up at the blonde-haired girl from before. "Sorry about that," he apologized lamely, "I wasn't really watching where I was going." Jarrick rubbed the back of his head nervously, but he did pull himself together enough to look her in the eye.

Despite the fact that her astrological sign was Libra, Colby had never been that good at balancing. She stumbled back a ways, thankfully managing to remain upright. “It’s all right.” She muttered, looking up at him. He was nearly half a foot taller than her. He looked familiar, but Colby couldn’t quite place her finger on it. “Have I talked to you before?” She ventured. Knowing that if she hadn’t, she would sound like a complete idiot.

"I'm relatively sure we've never met before, but I did see you run in here a few minutes ago." He shrugged. "You were in such a hurry that the sight stuck with me, I suppose."Unsure as to whether it was appropriate for him to help her or not, Jarrick had kept his arms awkwardly at his sides as he watched her stumble. Luckily she had regained her balance on her own and didn't seem upset. "Not too long after that, I came in here with this other girl who was looking for some special sword, but I haven't seen too much of her since then."

“Oh.” Colby replied. Maybe that was where she had seen him. She had been in so much of a hurry that she hadn’t really noticed him, or anyone else for that matter. Colby knew that manners were very important in many situations. “I’m Colby.” She said and offered her hand. A smile on her face.

Jarrick took the hand she offered in his own and shook, glad that he had washed his hands before he had left the shop that morning. "I'm Jarrick, nice to meet you." For a second he couldn't think of anything to say, but then he noticed the weapon that she held. "That's a fancy sword there," Jarrick finally commented, inclining his head towards it. "Have you trained in them much?"

Colby blushed. “N-no.” She stuttered, “This isn’t mine. I’m just retrieving it for my landlord…well really for my sister, since she was supposed to get it but-” Colby stopped, realizing she was rambling. “I can’t use it or anything like that...I've never trained with swords.” Colby stared down at the sword. She hadn’t really looked at it before. It was a rather beautiful sword, the blade was silvery, and the hilt was as well. It had the initials JM etched into it, for James Miller, her landlord’s name. There were a few rubies in the hilt, for decorative purposes Colby assumed, since gems couldn’t be that useful during a fight.

Noru stumbled out into the dusty street and just barely avoided crashing into a group of wandering women. Jamming her hat onto her head and tucking it in around her ears, she spun around on one foot and shouted at the bar she had just involuntarily left. "Fine you bloody pig suckers! I'll find business elsewhere!" On any normal day, she would've been out in the street, ready to start a brawl, but . . . well, today she didn't quite feel like it. Dusting off her pants, she grumbled to herself and glanced around. Next to the rowdy bar stood a lone building. Peering into the windows, and ignoring the dissapproving stares of passerbys, she reached into her pocket and brought out a leather pouch.

Tossing it up in the air, she noted the jingle of coins. She had some money to spare, and there were somethings she might need. Standing there for a moment, she remembered what had brought her to such an outskirt town. A piece of parchment. Thinking about it now, she scoffed. Perhaps she was just bored and was looking for an excuse to do anything. Hefting her large sword onto her back, she shifted the blade so that it sat in between her shoulder blades. Without anymore hesitation, she strolled into the store. It was cool inside, especially considering the sweaty heat that had settled over the town. Swords sat in glass display cases, along with a number of other strange if not exotic things. Strolling down one aisle of weaponry, out of instinct, Noru instantly noted the number of people in the store. The shop owner, a man in about his fourties, and a young man, along with two young women. Discarding this fact into the back of her mind, she continued examining the merchandise, trying to remember what she was looking for.

((Note: I wish to move the roleplay on with the sword and its magic as quickly as possible here, but there are still--*counts*--four or five potential profiles out, two or three of which I reasonably expect to get back... Hopefully really soon. Really soon. Cause I don't want to cut people off but I'm itching to really get moving.))

Carilee closed the book in her lap. She was feeling decisive, so normally she would've snapped it shut, but so far the Introduction to Demonology was serving her quite well indeed. It always paid to be nice to such useful books, less they take a dislike to you and turn rather less than useful...

The tome tucked carefully under her arm, Carilee marched her way over to the counter. Hock regarded her evenly. She took this as encouragement.

"Might you have a Sword of Bestial Summoning?" she asked politely enough, pushing her glasses back up her nose again. They'd slid down while she was reading.

He gave her a slightly suspicious look. "I'd have to check in the back for that. And even if I've got one right now, I must say, it's quite a dangerous thing to be entrusting to a young girl like yourself..."

Carilee smiled. "I can handle it."

Meanwhile, a young boy in patchy clothes and a well-worn hat was creeping as quietly into the store as he could. He'd seen the lady come in here not half a minute ago, but now he'd lost track of her again. But she had to be somewhere inside... Josef risked standing up on his tip toes for a moment to better see through the aisles, and caught sight of her off near the swords. Ducking down again, he snuck over to her.

"Miss? Ma'am?" he whispered, hesitating a few feet away from her. "You were really cool with the sword back there..."

Noru was silently contemplating the price of wraps for a hilt when a whisper reached her ears. Forced to turn around, she found herself having to look down. A young boy was standing there, his clothing somewhat tattered and a hat crammed over his head. For some reason, Noru had always had a weak spot for children, even though she tended to be harsh.

Looking down at him, she blinked a moment before opening her mouth to reply. She was surprised the boy had been in the tavern during her little rough and tumble. "Um . . . thankyou?" She rubbed the back of her neck and wanted to sigh. She was a little more tired from her travels than usual. Looking back down at the boy, she noticed that he stood quite aways from her. "I'm not going to bite you," she muttered, gesturing to his hesitation. "Now, what was your name again? If you bothered to tell me in the first place that is."
