tbs.hellogoodbye Talk about non-suspenseful. You know the others know what that black gas is, otherwise they wouldn't be able to make fences!! Juliet might not know but Benry sure does. Well, that's assuming two things: one, they made the fence; two, that black smoke monster repellence isn't a happy unforseen benefit.

I kind of figured it may have been built by Dharma, who may have known about Smokey.

I kind of figured it may have been built by Dharma, who may have known about Smokey. But Benry's been there his whole life. The fence couldn't have --- Well I won't exactly say it couldn't have. But, if Benry is part of Dharma, then yes. It was created by Dharma. Benry surely knows how to stop it. He wouldn't have known about the fences - or how to use them. Benry knows what it is.

Dharma started in the 60's or 70's right? The interior design of the hatch was remniscent of that. The fence looks really old anyways, but I guess that could be attributed to the jungle weather...

The whole fence isn't invisible, those giant pillars that mark the fence are quite visible, and they look old. And I believe Ben's in his 30's, but just because he was born on the island doesn't mean that there couldn't have been people there before him... obviously since he was born there, there was at least one person there before he was.
