lol.. ok. what about them? ...I personally like samurai better.. but unless there's opposition, or some exact point to the discussion, there's no debate. I like debates, but don't get too strong on one side because I like to keep an open mind. This way, there's some fun because you can support either side. Usually, I just choose the side without anyone supporting it just so I can bring up a debate, because with an open mind I take both the cons and pros into consideration and use them to spur the action. ..Anyway, I think I went a bit overboard with that, so I'll just ask, what's your opinion?

Well in armored combat the knight will compleatly destroy the samurai due to the superiority of plate armor and chain mail thet would render the katana nearly usless. In unarmored combat though it would be the samurai by a slight margin since curve blades are better for close range combat but a longsword is also cabable of back slices so it would also give the knight more slices that the standard 8 leaving it to who is in fact the better swords man. In martial arts though I would say that it would be a tie on the same reason as unarmored combat.

well.. yeah, this discussion isn't really going well. I don't honestly know much about the subject to say more than what I like (which I did). If you don't mind, I'd like to bring up a different topic.

cool. well, I was thinking more along the lines of psychics and magic. Are they real? or are they just stories made up to entertain the masses? I know this is a really broad topic, but I was hoping others could help narrow it down and we can stem from it if necessary.

I once saw a thermal image of a psychic, when he was using and the screen went all psycadelic, and also the emp meters were going crazy so there must be some sort of electro-magnetic distortion going on there, but other than a few things I am quite naive of the issue and perhaps you should go first.

..*laughs* psycadelic- nice word.. Anyway, getting back to the topic, I personally believe in most types of psychics. There are the more common types such as future-seeing, object moving, and mind penetrating psychics, as well as those people whom can see ghosts, talk to animals, and even heal others. I'm not so sure I believe in the healing psychics, but the other types seem pretty plausible (certain to me). Other people may have their doubts and I respect them, but I also have my own opinion on the matter which I have come to stand by unswervingly. I've also, within my lifetime (so far), come up with some interesting facts, or parts of a more complete analysis.

Firstly, I don't know why exactly, but in my personal experience, psychic people are somehow drawn to one another. It takes a while, and at first they may not convey the fact they are psychic, and some don't even believe that what they have is a psychic ability, but either way, they end up finding another "psychic". You may be confused by what I've just stated or even wonder why I said "in my personal experience", but I'll get to that soon. I don't know much about the science behind psychics, but I do know they exist.

I found out recently that a couple of my friends are psychics. Honestly, I've just met them within the past couple of years. The first, I met in May of last year, and the other, May of this year. (Wow, I didn't notice until now that both meetings happened to occur in May.) I know other psychics as well, but I met them through someone else and since we aren't really friends, I don't really include them in the previous analysis.

If you piece the clues together, you may infer that I am one of the so-called "psychics". However, I didn't usually refer to myself as being psychic (when asked) until recently because am a mere empath. The first friend I mentioned can see auras, the second, ghosts, so that's why I stated that psychics attract even when not seeking another out. Within and around my family is a chain of psychic phenomena. Although, my main ability deals with emotions, at times I can 'hear' thoughts. I'm not sure how that works yet (what triggers it), but they are hollow-like sort of the way you hear a voice calling you to wake up. However, sometimes they can be more clear as if someone actually said something, but either way it's hard to work out.

- hmm.. it seems I'm getting a bit too detailed, so I'll just cut it short. -

I know there are psychics out there, but seeing as to what I've observed, there may be more than what there seems. Most, from experience, blend into society as 'normal' [if not simply 'weird'] by keeping their secret, and are often the type of people you can most depend on to keep your secret (since they have a much bigger one) from the claws of the rest of the 'normal' world.

((good enough for now))

Though Psycics may exist I do believe their claims to be over exagerated or even a work of fiction on their part in seek of attention or something interesting to tell people about, though I am not trying to offend anyone. For example a person who believes he is psycic and sees ghost or auras may be suffering from a case of scytzophrenia, which is seeing and hearing things that do not exist, and could be an easy way to get someone to truely believe they have psycic abilities. The closest thing I have heard of for people being able to see ghost is that they can feel their presence but will usually not state that they would be able to see them because from what I have heard from ghost hunters is that ghosts can not be seen unless they want to be seen.

As for seeing the future I have had my own experieces with dejavus where I see something in a dream months before and will notice it when it happens, but not before. That still doesn't discredit people who see future events, but I highly doubt that the can do it on a whim, only on rare occasions.

true, just as one can not tell the sun to set hours early, one can hardly will themselves to see the future, it just happens. Though there are times where the seer can recognize that, "that vision/thought i just had is probably going to happen."
now there are some natural items, poses and thought patterns that one can do to increase the chance that their ability may become active, but thats another story.

yes, what you say is quite true. Most of those you hear about are just there for attention or to get money. However, there are many real psychics out there as well, and although many of them work in secret, there are also those whom work in plain sight. It's just up to the person to determine whether they are genuine or not.

You also had another good point about schizophrenia being a factor to consider; yet, how can you explain those who know things that no one else knows? or those that can actually read someone else's thoughts?

And, yes.. everyone has the capability in them to 'tap' into their subconscious (which is the source) and bring about more frequent occurrences of 'dejavu' so just figure out your own way and you can; but it is also true that you can't call on it whenever you want.. well, I don't believe that.. so those who say they can, I don't believe them..

just came back to check up on things.. hmm.. I mentioned something about keeping secrets before, but that doesn't seem to come together too well. Although it may seem as if I said too much, my reasoning is that none of you know me in person, so I'm not really saying anything. All I'm doing is divulging facts. whether you believe me is up to you; I just wanted some actual conversation in this thread. There are many people who know so much about this stuff.. so much more than myself, I admit. So, I was hoping to tug on some of those stings and invite others inside. Let them share their ideas and hopefully we can all take part in a conversation. ...(sorry, if you're getting bored.. just ignore me, then)

It is understandable that you would speak so much of this matter just becauses we don't think we know each other outside of Gaia. I speak much more in Gaia than real life.
As for being bored, Boredom is a part of life.
And as it seems that this topic has just about reached it's limit...I ask you both (and anyone else who wishes to participate) a few questions.
1) How many more pages and how much more time do you think it will take before we finish the Trial of Heros?
1) If you put "I don't know" to the previous question, take a guess.
2) Why do think Jarek doesn't speak? (I just want to see what you think.)
3) Do you think I should kill off any of my characters from the three and a half role plays I am in?
4) Did you find this mini-quiz painstakingly annoying?
4) If you answered "yes" ...Then why did you bother to post your answers?
5) Did you notice that I numbered related questions the same?
6) and finally, Did you notice that everyone in Trial of Heros has been promoted to Moderators except me? 4laugh (I don't exactly want to be a Mod either, I just find it kind of funny. You have also been on each other's friends lists since before I joined the guild.)

1. I say it will take another 20 pages or 200-300 posts to finish it up and it should be done by early fall, because Clover said she wouldn't be on much till August.
2. He has no self esteem.
3. I have no idea, what ever you want, I guess.
4. Not to much.
5. Yes
6. Well, TRamer and Trina were just promoted recently, but were in that RP since the begining. I have been on the crew since I basically joined, but then again I know the owner in real life.
