The pictures were taken a little while after she was born... by her uncle... how did he know her uncle? Maybe their families were friends... Her uncle looked nothing like her? What? "No, take those out again..." she said, motioning to his pocket, where the photos now lay hidden once more. Figure out the meaning on her own? What?
...But no, that was impossible. Crazy. That couldn't be it, this guy couldn't be her dad.

Tsuji took the pictures out once again and held them out, "If you want them, you can have them, I have copies." He sat once again entertaining the now bored Sendo, who had started to fuss. He wondered if Tsuchi would figure it out soon, he could play this kind of game all night but it would get boring after a while.

The fox-girl pried a hand off of its tight hold on her abdomen to take the pictures. She squinted at them. Her and two dark-blue baby foxes (her siblings, apparently), the guy, and another fox who looked about the same age as him. The guy had her markings, and the girl had her colors. Mom and Dad?
...Not possible. Well, not probable. but possible all the same. Was this guy waiting for her to ask about it? Like she'd ever do that-- Um, hey. Are you my pa? Not only did it sound stupid, it was also something she'd never do. So, to figure out how to ask the question without actually asking the question.
"Um, hey." That was her, walking over to the other fox, pictures in hand. "This lady in the photo... how do you know her?" She peered at the photo as though checking for clues, or something.

Tsuji looked up at Tsuchi, then noted what she was asking. "How I know her? Your mother? I met her somewhere..." He knew that she was actually thinking about what he was telling her, and that she was trying to figure out the clues he was giving her.

Tsuchi bit back another remark. She was being calm and calculating now, remember? Right.
"Well, that's vague... Where was that?" She took another look at the picture, of the three kits and two older foxes. "The nursery? D'you volunteer there or something?" Alright, it was a stupid question, but she wasn't going to ask if he met her at a bar or something. Now that would be a stupid thing to say. She plopped down cross-legged next to the older fox and continued studying the pictures.

Tsuji smirked a bit,"no, I don't think I could ever volunteer.. I met her at the pound where me and your uncle used to live..." Tsuji remembered those days, now long gone, perfectly. They were just kids then and he had never thought about having kids of his own.

Oh. Thank you. That was helpful.
"Do you know any of the other kits in this photo, besides me?" There we go. He couldn't answer that without giving her an answer. 'No,' and he wasn't her dad. 'Yes,' and he was, obviously, or it was crazzzy coincidence, because it didn't sound like he'd seen this fox-lady since she'd been a kit. So there! Ha. Ha ha ha. Problem solved. Can we go home now?

"Of course I do... Did I not tell you they were your siblings? That's Tiaji and Tycho...," he pointed to the twins, showing which one was which. He sat there, waiting for her to figure it out for herself still, although, he was getting a little impatient.

Tsuchi nodded. Okay, good. Then we were done here. Stop the ride, please, we'd like to get off.
"Alright then, so I suppose you-" Oh, booger and thrice booger. She couldn't say that! Oh yes, hello, are you my father? No! No, no, no! That was not the sort of thing you asked someone else!

Tsuji stared at Tsuchi. Could one of his kits really not know after so long? Did they look that different than him? Or was he not giving her enough hints? "Suppose I what?" he asked, hoping she did figure it out.
